Lil Yachty and JID have reunited under their celebrated BlakkBoyz moniker to share a new double single entitled Blakkboyz Present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh . Check out both tracks below.

It’s been a thrilling time for both artists. Earlier this year, JID teased a collaborative album with  Metro Boomin , but on a recent Instagram Live session, the rapper announced he will be releasing a new project before that album comes.

JID noted that the new album,  Forever and a Day , will feature 10 to 12 songs. JID’s most recent album,  The Forever Story  was released on August 26, 2022, via Dreamville/Interscope Records. The 15-track project is filled with evocative storytelling and head swiveling lyricism backed against addictive beats and sample chops. The project is executive produced by longtime collaborator, Christo.

Yachty has been equally busy. Last week the MC returned with another new single “Tesla.” The accompanying visual was directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett.

To kick off the track, Yachty dismisses his haters, rapping, “I ain’t goin’ back and forth with that n___a, he ain’t even made no millions/ He keep on droppin’ the block, it’s a real reason.”

Yachty has been releasing a ton of new music lately. Earlier in August he released “Slide,” which was preceded by “SOLO STEPPIN CRETE BOY.”  That track also arrived with a visual.

On “SOLO STEPPIN” he raps, “All this Chrome on my body like a medieval knight/ I was f____n’ up a sack on that purple Sprite/ All my b_____s been official, even tote a pistol/ Even blow up like a whistle, lie to officials.”

In the accompanying visual, Yachty is wrapped up in an American flag and later seen showcasing his signature swagger outside of a monastery.

Back in May, Yachty announced a 39 stop global tour in support of his most recent and highly acclaimed album  Let’s Start Here., (Quality Control Music/Motown Records), which was released in January of 2023 to much critical acclaim.

JID And Lil Yachty Artistically Match Each Other’s Energy On Their New Single, ‘Van Gogh’

Two of the hottest in the game right now have linked up for a double dose of magic. Tonight (September 1), rappers JID and Lil Yachty dropped a two-track EP, titled BlakkBoyz present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh . On the new project is a track called “Van Gogh,” where the two heavy hitters go back and forth, rapping with the ease of a paintbrush on a canvas.

“The hardest thing for me is stayin’ composed / ‘Cause killin’ sh*t is really all that I know / Funeral goes, casket closed / The choir sings, the pastor goes,” raps JID on the song’s opening verse.

The song gently flows into Yachty’s verse, on which, he brags about an exciting year he’s had, while reminding everyone of the quick-witted bars that made him such a promising act.

“Couldn’t dent the Ferrari, sh*t feel like a coffin / I use the codeine without coughin’, I sleep without tossin’ / She call me daddy ’cause I’m bossin’ / I had a show in two cities, call me Dallas Austin / When I talk, I’m flossin’,” raps Yachty.

The song boasts four verses, and the two artists showcase their undeniable musical chemistry with each other over the course of the song.

JID Reveals Plans For Upcoming Album & Lil Yachty Collaboration

Fans of JID are hype about all the new music he's got on deck. During an Instagram Live session he held on Tuesday, August 29, the Dreamville signee confirmed his plans to release new music ahead of his upcoming joint album with Metro Boomin . During his livestream, JID said that he recently formed a new group called the Blakkboyz with Lil Yachty . They plan to release two new songs soon. He also revealed that he's been working on a separate solo album called Forever & A Day that has 10-12 tracks on it. JID wants to drop that project in the fall.

“We finna drop a two-pack," JID explained. "We got a group, me and Yachty, called the Blakkboyz, boom. So we gonna drop that s**t. Then, I think I’ma give y'all an album before this Metro s**t come out. A little Forever & A Day project. I’m just makin goddamn announcements right quick. I don’t even be on this s**t no more because I’m too old for it, but we gonna do this Forever & A Day project, comin out fall time... probably 10-12 songs. Damn near almost done.” During his announcement, JID also confirmed that he's finally bringing his and Yachty's hit song "Van Gogh" to streaming services. Their collaboration produced by Cardo debuted back in 2019. The song appeared in Yachty's docuseries "The Boat Show" and premiered as a music video last year, but has yet to appear on an official project. Looks like the wait for that record will finally end soon. JID dropped his previous album The Forever Story last year. Since then, he appeared on the Creed III soundtrack with his Dreamville brethren and on Metro Boomin's Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack .

JID and Lil Yachty did their thing on these two new tracks.

JID and Lil Yachty are two artists who are known for operating within two different lanes. Firstly, the former is an incredible MC when it comes to rapping fast while also telling a story. Secondly, Yachty is mostly known for his ability to give you autotuned melodies and a mix of genres. However, he has proven himself to be quite the spitter when he wants to be. That said, it still felt pretty unlikely that these two would come through with a collaborative song or even a project.

However, they stunned fans this week when they revealed that they would drop two new tracks together . They are doing so under the duo name Blakkboyz, and fans are curious if this could lead to a new album. That said, they are testing the waters with these two songs. The first of these songs is called "Half Doin Dope" which features BabyTron. Moreover, they also came through with Van Gogh, which doesn't have any other artists listed.

Overall, both of these tracks are packed with energy. JID brings his usual speedy flow to the table, and interestingly enough, Yachty matches him. It makes for two dynamic songs that are bolstered by a BabyTron feature that has all of the personality you would expect. Earlier this week , news of a forthcoming JID and Lil Yachty collaboration got hip-hop heads hyped for the first link-up between the skilled rappers. On Blakkboyz Present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh , each rapper brings their distinct energy and artistry to two new cuts: “Half Doin Dope” and “Van Gogh.”

“Half Doin Dope” sees the rappers match each other’s charisma, throwing playful bars back and forth. Stacked with a BabyTron feature as well, the three-and-a-half minute track’s momentum is led by a vibey beat and each rapper’s high-energy flow. “I gave them rappers they time at the podium / I ain’t spoken, I ain’t speak in a moment / It’s been a minute, I was feedin’ the homie,” JID spits on the first verse.

Lil Uzi Vert, Rico Nasty, JID, And More To Perform At Milwaukee’s 2024 Summerfest

T oday (March 21), Summerfest announced the full lineup for its 2024 festival. The multi-weekend event will see performers like Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty , JID, and Rico Nasty.

Additional acts include Key Glock, Jamila Woods, Ken Carson, K Camp, Certified Trapper, Lil Tecca, Bryson Tiller, BigXthaPlug , Mariah the Scientist, and DC The Don. Tickets for Summerfest are currently available to purchase via the company’s website, with single-day general admission passes starting at $28.

“Our 2024 lineup embodies the essence of what makes Summerfest so special. With a curated selection of artists spanning genres and styles, the festival reflects the vibrancy of today’s music scene,” Milwaukee World Festival Inc. CEO Sarah Pancheri shared in a press statement. “With 600 artists at a 75-acre permanent festival park, Summerfest creates a one-of-a-kind environment that our fans look forward to every summer.”

Summerfest is among the rare scheduled festival appearances for Uzi this year. The artist was previously announced as a headliner for last weekend’s Rolling Loud California but revealed that they “never” agreed. Luckily, fans will get a chance to see the Philadelphia native at Coachella in April.

Uzi debuted Pink Tape in July 2023 with features from Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, and Don Toliver. It became the year’s first Hip Hop album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Standout cuts included “Flooded The Face,” “Endless Fashion,” and “Just Wanna Rock.”

Luv Is Rage 3 , Uzi’s final project, is expected to come out soon. They heightened anticipation for the LP with “NFL” and “Red Moon.” However, details on the LP’s guest appearances and tracklist are scarce.

“Why not stop now? Because business doesn’t work like that. I have one more album [to] turn in. After that, I finally can genuinely smile,” they wrote on their Instagram Story in October 2023. “I’ve been judged from day [one]. I never respond [to] negativity. I have a [talent], but I also have a heart and have been holding in a lot.”

Happy Fall, Bobcats! It’s the end of a beautiful week, and you know what the best part of my week is? Listening to new music. It's always good to listen to some new tunes throughout the week and going into the weekend. 

While everyone has their favorite genre of music, we’ve made a playlist that will appeal to any mood or preference. Below are new songs from the past week that are perfect for walking to class, working out at the gym, sitting around in your dorm or cranking out those last-minute papers. Here are five new songs to get you through the week:

‘When it’s Over by Kyle Beats Collective, Drex Carter

Music producer and YouTuber Kyle Beats creates videos about music production and making songs from scratch, which is best highlighted in his "Would've KILLED This Beat" series. In it he produces a beat and gives underground rappers a chance to create their best lines and releases the best ones on his Spotify page Kyle Beats Collective . The latest episode of his "Would've KILLED This Beat” features Drex Carter, which turned into "When it’s Over.” When Carter raps about dreaming of his future success, lyrics: "Yeah we are on the way but I can never wait until the morning / We on the way but I can't seem to say what they want / They gon' play this when it's over." ‘Blakkboyz present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh’ by JID, BabyTron, Lil Yachty

Atlanta Rappers JID and Lil Yachty return under the BlakkBoyz moniker to share a two-song single entitled "Blakkboyz present Half Doin Dope/Van Gogh." On "Half Doin Dope” the artists present creative, playful bars stacked with a feature from BabyTron "Van Gogh," JID and Yachty can better flex their lyrical capabilities over a trap beat. The second song is accompanied by a music video , using combinations of various styles of famous painters.

‘AT WHAT COST’ by Lil Mabu

New York rapper Lil Mabu has garnered fame over the past few months with singles such as “RICH SCHOLAR” and “MATHEMATICAL DISRESPECT.” In a recent video , he discussed his plans to attend college instead of taking a record deal. During his gain of fame, he lost moments of his childhood, neglected meaningful relationships and not spending time with his family.

Mabu raps, “I lost my brothers to this shit, look to the sky and I salute/ I look my brother in his eyes, I almost cried, I miss you too.” Possibly connecting his career with the loss of those moments in his life.

‘Woke Up and Asked Siri How I’m Gonna Die’ by Armand Hammer, billy woods, E L U C I D, JPEGMAFIA

Armand Hammer teams up with producer JPEGMAFIA on “Woke Up and Asked Siri How I’m Going Gonna Die.” An authentic, experimental piece that gives the listener a combination of a digital era soundscape mixed with sampled audio about the exuberances of JPEG images, reverb-heavy vocals and a fading out that can only be described as psychedelic to end the experience. Despite its relatively brief length, fellow contributor billy woods explained it to be one of the songs “where all the parts swirl in a unique orbit, building upon each other and all of a sudden the whole thing is floating.” You can enjoy the music video here and expect this track and more on Hammer’s sixth studio album set to arrive on Sept. 29.

‘Your Bones’ by Chelsea Cutler

Some know Chelsea Cutler as a frequent collaborator with artists such as Quinn XCII and Louis The Child. Still, she also embarked on a solo career and is building upon this with her new single “Your Bones,” which was released Aug. 30, after teasing it for weeks on TikTok It follows the song “I Don’t Feel Alive,” which arrived July 14, and is rumored to be a part of and to bolster Cutler’s upcoming album “Stellaria,” which is set to release Oct. 13.

In Today's Talker — Lil Uzi Vert will headline the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on the last day of Summerfest.

He'll be joined by special guests Lil Yachty, JID, Rico Nasty, and LIHTZ on Saturday, July 6th.

This will be Lil Uzi Vert's first time playing at Summerfest since 2018 when he played the Harley Davidson Roadhouse.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. Visit Summerfest's website directly or go to Ticketmaster.com . You can also go to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Box Office to purchase tickets and include admission to Summerfest the day of the show.

The lineup for Summerfest is starting to taking shape. Leaders with the festival announced performances by Keith Urban , and Tyler Childers .

Summerfest will once again stick with the three weekend format for the festival. The dates are June 20-22, June 27-29 and July 4-6.

He’s released five studio albums, with his most recent being Let’s Start Here. , a psychedelic alternative rock album released in January of 2023 and debuted as #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums list, #9 on Billboard’s Top 200 list, was the #1 Album on Apple Music, and has received over 60 million streams in the first two months. He made his Saturday Night Live (SNL) musical guest debut April 1st of this year and he graced the cover of Billboard magazine’s 2023 March issue, has made multiple appearances on film and TV, collaborated with brands such as Sprite, Reese’s Puffs, and Nautica, delved into fashion with projects such as his own nail polish brand Crete, and has his own frozen pizza (Deep Cuts Yachty’s Pizzeria).

About J.I.D. Born and raised in East Atlanta, Grammy nominated J.I.D has been heralded as “one of rap’s best storytellers'' (Rolling Stone). He grew up on his parents’ collection of classic funk/soul LPs, and broke onto the scene with his 2015 EP, DiCaprio . Soon after J. Cole signed him to Dreamville Records and he

About LIHTZ Philadelphia’s Andrew Christian Howard, p/k/a “LIHTZ” is a multifaceted artist that has made a name for himself in music and television. Born in West Philly, Lihtz had a rough upbringing moving from shelter to shelter with his sickly mother. At the age of 7-years-old, Lihtz and his family moved to West Oak Lane or the “Uptown” area of Philadelphia. It was here where he made a name for himself.

Inspired by his uncle, “Big Biscuit,” who was a rapper, Lihtz wanted to follow in his footsteps and by the age of 10-years-old, he found himself in a rap group. This along with his time in church played a heavy role in the soulfulness of his music and heartfelt lyrics.  Lihtz briefly moved to Atlanta after high school to hone in on his sound. Upon moving back to Philly, Lihtz received a cosign from Gillie Da Kid (Million Dollars Worth of Game Co-host) which helped launch his music career. Featured on songs from other artists in Philadelphia, Lihtz was able to build his own catalog of street anthems. This eventually led Lihtz to be featured on “Never Lose” by Meek Mill. Since that time, Lihtz has been met with moments of tragedy and career obstacles. In 2023 Lihtz emerged with a new image and sound which pushed him in a different direction from his earlier work. The intention of wearing a mask was to force people to focus on the music while also seeing him in a new light. Lihtz dedication to personal growth birthed many songs including his current single “Serenity.” The song represents the search for substance that gives your life purpose before it's too late.

The lineup includes Kane Brown with Kameron Marlowe, ILLENIUM, Tyler Childers, Lil Uzi Vert with Lil Yachty, JID, Rico Nasty, Maroon 5, AJR with Carly Rae Jepsen, Keith Urban, Mötley Crüe with Seether and Buckcherry, Ivan Cornejo, Bryson Tiller, MUNA, Mt. Summerfest has revealed its lineup for the 2024 festival, set to include 140 headliners over three weekends — June 20-22, June 27-29 and July 4-6 — in Milwaukee.

The lineup will be spread across the 12 stages of Summerfest and features:
