Leading Australian luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo, has unveiled its fifth new model in 2021, a record for the company, with today’s exciting global reveal of the all new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht.

The M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht is slated for its official global launch early in 2022.

The global reveal of the M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht marks the fifth of eight total global launches or global reveals scheduled in 2021, as announced by Maritimo Design Director, Tom Barry-Cotter earlier this year.

“Our immense new model development strategy sees us continue our way up the model lineage with more and more breathtaking new models in development,” he said.

“Our completely in-house design team are continuing to set new standards in flybridge motor yacht design, as we combine innovative design expertise with the collaboration of our knowledgeable global network of Maritimo owners.

“The new model design developments, the team are working on in collaboration with our customer network are truly spectacular, and we grow more excited with each new global reveal.

The M60, the latest spectacular new addition to our M-Series Flybridge Motor Yacht lineage, has been a new model development of the highest focus and detail across all divisions of Maritimo since the beginning of the project – for a very special reason.

The M60 carries the designation of the very inception of the Maritimo flybridge motor yacht known today – The highly acclaimed Maritimo 60.

“At the beginning of this project, it was made clear by Maritimo founder, Bill Barry-Cotter, that the M60 had to be a motor yacht that was truly special, as the 60’ flybridge designation was something that he held close to his heart,” said Barry-Cotter.

“The Maritimo 60, of course was the brand’s very first motor yacht, which debuted in 2004, collecting honours as the “Cruiser of the Year” and “Australian Boat of the year. “It has since gone on to earn a reputation as a stand out bluewater cruiser with a diehard following.

“From there the Maritimo brand’s esteemed standing of crafting flybridge motor yachts, of the highest quality and engineering excellence was forged.

“Just like the original Maritimo 60, the new Maritimo M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht has arrived ahead of it’s time, and in time to lay the course for flybridge motor yachts of the future.”

Exterior Form Of the many new features designed into new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht, one of the most apparent is within its alluring exterior form.

Following the design direction of recent Maritimo model launches, the M60 is styled within these cues but with the length to aesthetically elongate its exterior profile.

The completely new deck and flybridge superstructure lines evoke a sense of balance and poise in any anchorage.

Exterior flybridge wings provide brand defining function in the space they offer within the flybridge and aft galley, as well as protection provided over the side decks.

An important design consideration from the Maritimo design team are the proportions of deck and accommodation spaces, acting on Maritimo owner’s feedback on where those onboard enjoy spending most of their time.

“The feedback from our global network of owners had showed us that our customers really enjoy the protection and connection with the environment from the cockpit and platform zones, and once anchored up, that is where we are spending most of our time at anchor,” said Barry-Cotter.

It is for that reason that Maritimo has heavily emphasized the amount of space within these areas, by creating bias to the amount of rear deck space when addressing the overall proportions of the exterior design.

The result is a stunningly balanced exterior profile, with an immensity of cockpit deck, and adventure deck space with the ability to cater to a vast range of entertaining, relaxation, or adventuring activities.

Long Range Capacity & Capability The M60’s 60’10” (18.53m) LOA hull is an advanced evolution of Maritimo’s longstanding experience in long range cruising design. The variable deadrise hull with deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft has been focused on offshore cruising efficiency, cruising comfort and stability.

The M60 will be powered by standard twin Volvo Penta D13-800MHP power units with the option for Volvo Penta D13-1000MHP or Scania Di16 1150MHP upgrades.

Hull design and engineering are centered on straight shaft drive technology with the standard Volvo Penta D13-800MHP power units transferring power to the water via an ultra-efficient 8-Degree straight shaft angle to the 5x Blade Nibral Propellers.

The low 8-Degree shaft angle also reduces overall draft to a very versatile 1.35m (4’4”) opening an array of anchorage possibilities within any region.

The M60’s 4550L (1200 US GAL) fuel capacity, also opens the door to a range of destinations, as the immense standard fuel capacity combined with Maritimo’s esteemed economical cruising efficiency will ensure owners can reach those secluded destinations with minimal stops.

The fuel system is also comprised of three tanks that are designed to lower the vessel’s centre of gravity and further increase stability.

Two wing tanks flanking each hull side compliment a 2300L (607 US GAL) main tank located along the M60’s keel line, keeping the main mass of fuel as low as possible in the hull, creating greater stability.

One added benefit from the triple tank fuel system, is that refueling can take place through a single filler from either side of the vessel.

Another essential feature when designing in long range capability is storage options for additional supplies, water toys, fishing gear, safety gear and tenders – The M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht caters to these needs with an abundance of storage via the aft garage lazarette.

The expansive adventure deck space can be lifted via electric actuators to uncover the largest garage lazarette area within any Maritimo to date. The tender garage has the ability to house a 3.2m (10’ 3”) tender or even select two -person jet skis when optioned with 350kg rear davit. Alternatively, the fully lined garage space can be used to store additional supplies, adventure toys such as kayaks, SUP’s, and SCUBA gear.

The M60 also offers tender storage options within the forward deck with forward mounted 350kg davit, or via storage atop of the expansive adventure deck, or optional 1.4m hydraulic platform.

Cruising Comfort The Maritimo 60 effectively created the long range enclosed flybridge motor yacht known today, and although its defining features have been incrementally evolved over time, the function they provide remains the same.

The defining feature of the Maritimo M-Series is its recognizable enclosed flybridge skylounge with internal staircase – providing the ultimate comfort for any long-distance passage.

The climate controlled flybridge skylounge has been enhanced in space through the design of the exterior wings melded within the swept contours of the M60’s exterior form. The space incorporates a pair of distinct flybridge lounging areas, with a forward cruising lounge and aft TV lounging, which can conveniently convert to an additional sleeping berth if required.

Expansive Deck Spaces It is beyond the flybridge skylounge doors where the M60 really begins to excel. The flybridge balcony offers over an unprecedented 11.0 square metres of protected outdoor deck space. The flybridge hardtop design also incorporates a rear awning with the option for inset clears with roll-up/down partitions to conveniently transform the outdoor area into a hybrid indoor/outdoor area in a matter of seconds. With the flybridge bifold doors stacked open the skylounge space creates an incredible total combined area measuring over 23.0 square metres.

Beyond the saloon doors the expanse of deck space within the upper cockpit and adventure deck is as equally impressive, with the upper cockpit also capable of transforming into a protected indoor/outdoor zone via concealed clears or breezeway hidden away within the overhead headliner.

The upper cockpit offers up to three separate lounges including a standard ‘U’ Shape dining lounge area aft to comfortably dine six guests.

The upper cockpit is central to galley, side decks and adventure deck.

Deep walkthrough side decks lay the pathway to the forward deck where those on board are secured by generous height bulwarks and bow rail through to the forward anchor well.

A single step behind the upper cockpit on the adventure deck, externally placed from the clear enclosure is the rear entertainment module, complete with sink, BBQ Grill, and large top loading refrigeration.

Lavish Living & Accommodation. Seamlessly connecting the upper cockpit deck and the luxurious saloon lounging area, is the iconic Maritimo aft galley.

It serves both indoor and outdoor dining areas, and socially connects those preparing the meal with who is already dining and entertaining.

Veiling all sides of the M60 saloon are enormous sections of glazing, injecting the surrounding seascapes right into the living area. There is also the added option of Maritimo’s unique two stage vista sliding windows which transform the entire saloon into an indoor/outdoor retreat.

The open atrium companionway design invites more natural light down to the lower accommodation, providing an open airiness for the companionway laundry which can be optioned with either combination washer/dryer or separate washing machine and dryer.

The three stateroom, two ensuite layout is designed to maximise every inch of the internal hull volume provided by the 5.2m (17.0’) beam.

Forward there is an offset queen stateroom with adjoining ensuite. The offset berth arrangement provides greater practicality for guests to walk around all sides of the berth without navigating steps, which greatly simplifies any bed-making duties.

A generous twin single stateroom awaits guests to starboard, with the option for the inner bed to slide outboard to create a double bed for couples.

A full beam king master stateroom is located midships, where the M60’s 60’10” (18.53m) hull’s volume is really experienced. Panoramic hull windows veiling each hull side provide more vistas and enable owners to feel connected with the environment.

Global Launch | 2022. Maritimo have already secured numerous orders from customers involved within the design development, with the first scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2022.

Leading Australian luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo, is set to begin an exciting new era as it unveils the largest motor yacht in its history, with the global reveal of the brand’s latest flagship vessel, in the form of the new M75 Flybridge Motor Yacht.

Eighteen years ago, Maritimo redefined the long-range cruising motor yacht concept with the inception of the legendary enclosed flybridge motor yacht it is recognized internationally for today.

In that time, Maritimo has continually evolved and refined the flybridge motor yacht concept with close collaboration between it’s completely inhouse Australian design team, and its growing family of Maritimo owners around the world.

Of all the Maritimo flagships that precede it, none have had the level of customer input or degree of design development as the M75 Flybridge Motor Yacht. This stunning vessel will set Maritimo apart from its competitors on the international stage.

Maritimo’s Director of Design, Tom Barry- Cotter said the all new M75 has stemmed from the most in-depth design and development process ever undertaken in Maritimo history, with it being conceptualized and developed with Maritimo’s design division and collaborating owners for more than two years.

In preparation for the evolution of the new M75, Maritimo’s state of the art Australian based production facilities underwent extensive upgrades and expansions, which were completed in 2019. The state-of-the-art facilities were purposely designed to give Maritimo the capability of manufacturing larger vessels, such as the M75.

The global reveal of the iconic new flagship marks the seventh launch or reveal for Maritimo in 2021, as the renowned long range motor yacht brand sees unprecedented demand, with several orders for the M75 already in its production pipeline.

The M75 Flybridge Motor Yacht is slated for its official global launch late 2022.

Function Driven Exterior Form

Barry-Cotter said of all features within the M75 Flybridge Motor Yacht, the most clearly apparent can be experienced in its first impression.

‘Carrying the designation of the brand’s flagship status, the M75 has been cloaked in a mighty exterior form from bow to stern,” he said.

“The M75’s hull profile is personified by sweeping longitudinal contours and styling cues combined with integral hull windows gracing the hull topsides, providing the internal accommodations with unprecedented views and natural light.

“Sleek moulded contours transition from the aft portofino internal hips into the deep walkthrough side decks that flank each side of the deckhouse, connecting the forward and rear decks with the functionality that Maritimo has become known for.

“Exterior flybridge wings provide further brand defining function in the space they offer within the enormous flybridge level, as well as protection provided over the side decks.”

He said the iconic flybridge and hardtop contours elongate the M75’s stationary profile, whilst completely protecting the upper cockpit and flybridge cockpit decks.

A Long-Range Cruising Legacy

Barry-Cotter said Maritimo’s esteemed standing and recognition amongst the world leaders in long range cruising motor yachts has been earned from dedication to crafting vessels capable of travelling further, and more confidently than ever before.

The M75 sets a new tide mark for Maritimo with its inherited capacities and capabilities. It’s 75’ 8” (23.07m) by 19’ 8” (6.0m) hull is the latest evolution of Maritimo’s longstanding experience in long range cruising hull design. The variable deadrise hull with deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft has been focused on offshore cruising efficiency, cruising comfort and stability.

The Hull design and engineering are centered on straight shaft drive technology with the standard Scania Di16-1150MHP power units transferring power to the water via an ultra-efficient, shallow straight shaft angle to the 5x Blade Nibral Propellers.

The M75’s low angle straight shaft drives also reduce overall draft to a very versatile 1.5m (4’11”) opening an array of anchorage possibilities within any region.

Engine upgrade options include MTU 10V2000M86 1380MHP and MTU 10V2000 M96L 1625MHP power units.

The M75’s 10,000L (2641 US GAL) fuel capacity, also opens the door to a range of destinations, as the immense standard fuel capacity combined with Maritimo’s esteemed economical cruising efficiency will ensure owners can reach those secluded destinations with minimal stops. “Step aboard, and the first impression the M75 emanates is certainly that of unsurpassed amounts of deck space,” said Barry-Cotter. “The M75 adventure deck creates an incredibly versatile hub for lounging, cooking, adventuring or storage, with plenty of room to spare.

“Front and center of the immense adventure deck is the wet bar module with sink, top loading refrigeration, and electric grill. Integral within the wet bar module is access to the utility cabin with secondary engine room access.

“Flanking each side of the adventure deck are large top loading storage lockers and rear fairleads with optional capstan winches.

“Three steps up from the adventure deck is the gigantic upper cockpit deck, where the deck space spreads outwards to the outer bulwarks, maximizing available decks space, thanks to the on-deck storage lockers being located aft on the lower adventure deck.”

All furniture within the upper cockpit deck is designed in modules in order to enable owners to be fluid in how they would like their cockpit to be arranged, with all options comfortably catering for a minimum of 8 guests in any lounging or dining arrangement.

The flybridge headliner fully covers the extremities of the upper cockpit deck, with the option of electric roller blinds which can encase the entire area in seconds, to give privacy, or to protect from weather.

Deep walk-through side decks connect the upper cockpit to the forward deck lounging space from both sides.

Another esteemed legacy the evolution within the M75 has built upon, is the iconic Maritimo long range enclosed flybridge design.

Restful Retreat

The M75’s open atrium companionway design is the largest and most unique companionway in its class. The floating feature staircase invites more natural light and creates an openness for the companionway laundry area, which sets the spacious tone for the largest accommodation ever featured within a Maritimo.

The flagship’s accommodations are designed around a four stateroom and three ensuite layout, with the option for further crew accommodation and ensuite in lieu of the aft utility cabin.

The forward VIP guest stateroom includes an offset queen berth with adjoining private ensuite. The offset berth arrangement provides greater practicality for guests to walk around all sides of the berth without navigating steps, which greatly simplifies any bed-making duties.

A generous twin guest stateroom and adjoining ensuite and day head awaits guests to starboard, with the option for the inner bed to slide outboard to create a double bed for couples.

Another spacious bunk guest stateroom is located to port, with the proportions to comfortably sleep teens or adults if required.

It is midships where the M75’s grandeur can be completely experienced. The master stateroom is centered upon a centerline king size bed with cavernous rear ensuite and walk-through robe area.

Storage is prevalent with double full height hanging robes, double half-height robes, and copious amounts of customizable drawer, desk and lounge storage available.

Maritimo’s largest Panoramic hull windows to date veil each hull side, providing exceptional vistas and enabling owners to feel connected with the environment.

Storage Solutions

The M75 Flybridge Motor Yacht caters to a variety of storage needs with an abundance of storage via the aft garage lazarette and aft utility cabin.

The expansive adventure deck space can be lifted via electric actuators to uncover the expansive garage lazarette area. The tender garage has the ability to house a 3.2m (10’ 3”) tender when optioned with 350kg rear davit.

Alternatively the fully lined garage space can be used to store additional supplies, adventure toys such as kayaks, SUP’s, and SCUBA gear.

Secondhand boat buying guide: four 40ft flybridge yachts reviewed

A 40ft flybridge is a great cruiser with enough space and clever layout. We review four secondhand boats on the market now: Jeanneau Velasco 43, Oyster Powerline 390, Princess 414 and Fairline Phantom 40

If you had to come up with the perfect type and size of family boat for UK waters, the 40ft flybridge cruiser would be right up there, a theory backed up by the sheer number in south coast marinas from Brighton to Falmouth. Big enough to go properly offshore, twin engines will give Channel-crossing confidence as well as manoeuvrability in harbours, where their relatively compact size makes handling manageable for two people. The layout works well too, with an open-air helm for good weather and an indoor driving position for days full of liquid sunshine. The ‘patio’ doors and a large windowed saloon make them perfect floating apartments while most have a family-friendly two cabin layout. Add in relative affordability and it’s easy to see the appeal. So this week we bring you four prime examples, from a well loved old Princess via a quirky Oyster Powerline through to an alternative Jeanneau hybrid design to a ‘staple diet’ Fairline.

Jeanneau Velasco 43

Jeanneau seems to have a model range for every niche but it hasn’t stopped them inventing a new one to fill. Launched in 2013 initially as the 43 Voyager before a sudden name change to Velasco, this concept is a cross between a long distance trawler and a fast port-hopping flybridge cruiser.

There is plenty of trawler thinking on the inside. From fundamental things like the trawler-style galley forward on the main deck and the sliding door next to the helm through to more subtle hints at long distance cruising such as the massive storage voids beneath the main deck floor, one big enough to house a washing machine. On the lower deck it’s a two-cabin, two- heads layout. The guest cabin, with its two single berths infilling to create a double, is pushed back, which leaves space for a large ensuite master cabin forward.

The most obvious nod to the trawler-esque thinking is the forward sloping windscreen rather than the usual sleeker raked back look. With thin mullions it offers terrific visibility and it gives the boat a distinctive, purposeful look. Interestingly, Jeanneau has reverted to a swept back screen for its latest version, now called the Velasco 43F. Likewise, the mast-like radar support on the flybridge has been ditched in favour of a conventional arch.

Performance

Bucking the trend again, there are no Volvo motors on the options list, just a default choice of twin Cummins QSB6.7L producing 380hp and running through vee drives for a top speed of 27 knots.

That cruiser/trawler hybrid concept is more than just styling and marketing puff. The hull of the Velasco is also modified with fuller forward sections, a shallow keel and a small bow bulb to allow efficient comfortable long distance cruising as well as running well at planing speeds. It’s largely successful at doing so too, although it can ship a fair bit of water at planing speeds in choppy seas.

Oyster Powerline 390

Famous for its high end sailing yachts, Oyster dabbled with the motor boat market in 2005, building the elegant ‘gentleman’s motor yacht’ LD43 until 2011. What’s less well known is that this wasn’t Oyster’s first foray into motor boats. In 1989 the company brought out a very conventional looking 40ft flybridge cruiser called the Powerline 390. It was intended to be the first of a range of flybridge cruisers, but was the only Powerline model, due partly to the 1990s recession.

Oyster didn’t attempt to reinvent the wheel with this boat so the layout is entirely conventional. There’s a master cabin in the bow, a guest cabin with twin bunks to starboard and the galley opposite on the lower deck with the lower helm and saloon up on the main deck. Finish is good, as you’d hope from Oyster, with a light ash veneer, and the company’s yacht builder roots show through in things like the fiddled horizontal surfaces and large chart table at the helm.

Maximum geek points if you spotted Humber 38 underpinnings. In fact Oyster adopted that boat’s John Bennett-designed hull when Humber moved on to launch its aft cabin Humber 40, but fitted its own deck and superstructure. And it’s undeniably a handsome-looking boat for its era, with more curves than were typically the norm back in the 1980s. The flybridge is accessed by a ladder and the transom has a semi transom door formed by a cutaway.

Twin Cummins 6BTAs were the engines of choice for the Powerline 390, in either 250hp or 300hp guise. This boat has the latter, which should push the top speed to 30 knots.

Unusually for a full planing boat, the hull has a keel that extends to nine inches at its maximum, offering some protection to the sterngear and helps it track straight at low speed in strong beam winds. It’s a solid feeling boat and a relatively quiet one too.

Princess 414

Old boats generally offer a huge amount of bang for buck, but that’s because they’re, well, old. Old electrics, old upholstery, old carpet, old navigation equipment. Not this one though, because all of that was replaced during a 2016 refit that even saw new tanks installed and the engines removed and overhauled by a Volvo Penta main dealer. Total cost? More than the current asking price…

The only aft cabin boat of our quartet this month, the interior stretches from end to end. And bear in mind that this was a 41ft boat when they were measured to the transom, not to the end of an extended bathing platform! As a result, the accommodation is palatial. A huge ensuite master cabin dominates the rear section beneath the aft deck, a large saloon sits amidships and further forward there’s a big dinette opposite the galley plus a guest cabin with centreline double berth in the bow.

The payoff for that aft cabin layout is a raised aft deck. More exposed than an aft cockpit and lacking the shelter of a flybridge overhang, it’s still big and does have one particularly useful feature. Where virtually all flybridge boats of this era had ladders to scale in order to reach the flybridge, on this boat it’s a couple of steps — easy to negotiate and it connects these two areas well.

The other trade-off with older boats is less powerful engines than we’re used to these days. But in this case the boat has a pair of entirely reasonable Volvo Penta TAMD 60C 255hp motors. No, you won’t be hitting the magic 30 knots, but it should top-out toward the mid twenties and cruise in the high ‘teens, perfect for a classy old lady.

One of the last of the John Bennett hulls before Princess switched to Bernard Olesinski, it’s a conventional planing hull with a modified deep-vee hull that combines deep forward sections with a flatter aft profile for seakeeping and speed.

Fairline Phantom 40

The early noughties was considered by many to be a golden era for Fairline boats, and the really good news is that the exemplary build quality echoed through the range from the flagship Squadron 78 downwards. So even buyers of 40-foot flybridge boats like this one benefit from fantastic attention to detail.

Nowhere is that more obvious than inside, where the high quality wood has a superyacht level of finish to it and that attention to detail includes a sturdy handrail recessed into the saloon headlining. The layout is the usual master forward, twin cabin to starboard with both having decent sized ensuites (the guest cabin accessing the day heads). There’s also a folding sofa bed cunningly hidden beneath the saloon settee taking sleeping capacity to an occasional six.

Again, pretty unadventurous but even so, beautifully appointed, the deck area of the Phantom 40 simply works well. Bathing platform and cockpit are teak laid as standard, side decks are 10 inches wide and protected by strong, high rails and the flybridge offers triple seats at the helm and a huge dinette aft.

When it was launched in 2003, Fairline fitted a pair of Volvo Penta TAMD 63 engines in either L (316hp) or P (370hp) specification, with twin Caterpillar 3126 units of 355hp or 385hp as an option, which offered top speeds in the high 20 knots. Later boats (like this one) moved on to the D series that Volvo Penta brought out in 2005, which in the case of the 435hp versions fitted to this boat, lift the top end beyond 30 knots.

Like everything else on this boat, the hull design is entirely predictable, being a Bernard Olesinski design, but like everything else, all the better for it. It extends beneath the bathing platform for maximum planing surface area aft and features semi-tunnelled propellers for a straighter, more efficient shaft angle and lower engines.

Sunreef Yachts unveils new luxe solar electric Explorer catamaran with over 1,000 kWh in batteries

Sustainable boatbuilder Sunreef Yachts is adding a sleeker, lighter solar electric catamaran to its portfolio. The new Explorer Eco 40m is the company’s smallest electric yacht to date, but debuts with some of the most advanced technology, including Sunreef’s proprietary “solar skin”

Sunreef Yachts  was established in 2002 in Gdansk, Poland where its shipyard and office still operate alongside a newer footprint established at port in the United Arab Emirates. From its very first year, Sunreef has been pushing the boundaries of sustainable marine travel, launching the world’s first 74-foot luxury oceangoing catamaran with a flybridge.

Today, hundreds of Sunreef Yachts are sailing waters across the globe, showcasing the company’s lineup of sustainable luxury catamarans, all-electric propulsion, and advanced solar panels. That current portfolio consists of eco-friendly sailboats and massive solar electric catamarans ranging from 60 to 100 meters in length.

Today, Sunreef shared it has gone smaller, introducing a new 40m electric yacht called the Eco Explorer.

I can't wait for ships to start using latent heat batteries with TPV. It might change the whole conversation about electric shipping. To a paradigm where nothing but electric shipping makes sense. Carbon variants can have volumetric energy density upwards of 1.5MWh/m3 (641kg). Though not all of that useable at maximum power output, I'm guessing. Let's call it 1MWh of useable energy. Pure guesstimate. You'd need 4000kg of 250Wh/kg LiIon batteries do the same.

I think a vessel as big as this would be capable of employing a storage system like that. And I believe that they will be suitable for trains and even larger airplanes. Maybe even trucks.

The company’s new Eco version of the 40m Explorer offers customers a sleeker and more sustainable design in a lighter marine footprint, all without sacrificing the luxury and comfort Sunreef is known for.

Sunreef shared that it favors catamarans over traditional yacht hull designs because require less energy to propel at sea – an important factor in marine electrification. The new Eco Explorer 40m features an ultralight composite build and a state-of-the-art electric powertrain consisting of two 540kW motors and two 550 kWh battery packs – giving the electric yacht the ability to cross oceans.

To support the all-electric powertrain, the Eco Explorer 40m is also covered in Sunreef’s proprietary solar skin, which utilizes every available inch of the hull and structure’s external surface to generate free, clean energy – more than enough to power the electric yacht’s onboard systems, HVAC, AV equipment and even its jacuzzi. Per Sunreef Yachts founder and CEO Francis Lapp:

Sunreef has been at the cutting edge of sustainable yachting since its launch. We are the only superyacht builder to have successfully developed the idea of embedding solar cells into large-scale fibreglass structures. But we’re not content to let technology alone do the work. Many elements of our wonderful, custom interiors can also be sourced from recycled and renewable materials. From hemp composite to recycled fabrics -it’s all up to the owner.

Sunreef says its new Eco Explorer 40m can accommodate 10 guests aboard, who can be taken care of by a crew of seven. Its motors deliver a cruising speed of 10 knots and a top speed of 14 knots. Build times are currently three years, and the electric yachts will be built at one of Sunreef’s ports in Poland or the UAE.
