My wife and I have been in St. Thomas on our honeymoon and were recommended Stormy Pirates charters for a fun day on the water. We ended up taking the 7 hour sea turtle snorkel and sunset sail tour with Brandon and Amanda and had a freaking blast! The boat was beautiful, the trip was better than described and the crew showed us a fantastic time. 10/10 would recommend and we will absolutely be coming back! Thanks guys!

My husband and I had the best time on this excursion. This was by far the highlight of our trip!! We got to see different islands and learn so much history about St John and St Thomas. The crew also had snorkel gear so we could snorkel each island we stopped at, we saw a sunken ship, sea turtles, stingrays. The crew was OUTSTANDING, Kenny and Susanna went above and beyond and made the best cocktails. This was such a wonderful experience!! Highly recommend stormy pirates. (I even changed my pick up from st Thomas to St. John and they were so accommodating)

What a way to spend a day. Met the crew at the dock, jumped on the boat, and had the time of our lives for the day. A couple of snorkel stops, a little sightseeing of the beautiful island of St. John, and then lunch at Lime Out Taco Bar. Lime Out was an excellent experience floating in the clear water surrounded by a beautiful area and eating some great tacos. This was my second trip with Stormy Pirates, and I brought the entire family as my first trip with them was great. Thanks to the crew for making this a day to remember.

We had an amazing time on their Sale Pending 2 boat. Captain Rich was funny and a really good Captain, we knew we were in good hands and safe. Tara, the crew member was so authentically attentive and caring. We had drinks all day long, sodas, water, punch, cocktails. They had fruit and muffins waiting, a scheduled pizza delivery on the boat, snorkeling equipment and the knowledge the guests needed to find sea creatures. So many small detailed extras to make the day superb!

Captain Kyle and Henry were fabulous! This activity made an incredible vacation fabulous! Kyle and Henry made everyone comfortable and make the trip fun. Kyle even gave us some history of the landmarks we saw. I would recommend Kyle and Henry and this boat ride as a must do!

This day was great and so was the boat and the captain. We had our family of 4 and we went out with Brian for a full day around St John. We had such a great time and he was the nicest person and so easy to talk to. He also knew alot about the island and its history. He also made the best rum punch. (best we had while on the island for a week) BEST DAY WE HAD ON VACAY. Highly recommend this company for your boat day needs and ask for Brian.

What a great time we had. Wedding went well, and the snorkeling at water island. They took us where we saw sea turtles and stingrays. The captain and Rachel we such great hosts, so attentive and just so nice. We all enjoyed our half day tour. Can’t say enough good things about them!

We spent half day celebrating our friends one-year Wedding Anniversary on Pisces catamaran! It was such an amazing time; Captain Connor and his first mate Chelsea were excellent! What an incredible day!! Captan Bryan is amazing and probably the best captain we’ve ever had! He listened to basically what we wanted to do and then crafted the itinerary to perfection. We circumnavigated St. John and he took us to some of the most beautiful spots for snorkeling and just relaxing in the water. His superb timing got us to Lime Out for lunch at JUST the right time to secure us the best Lilly pad in the house! He was personal and informative and took the trip (which would have been great by itself) to the next level. Highly recommend!!

We had an absolutely fabulous day with Glenn! Truly, it could not have been better! Glenn is a very experienced sailor and very knowledgeable about the Caribbean. He is also a great guy and we all thoroughly enjoyed hanging with him for the day. We snorkeled at several great spots in the BVI, visited Willie T's and Soggy Dollar.

Whenever we visit St John "Boat Day" is always everyone's favorite day of the the vacation. This year was fabulous! We are a 3 generation family of 11 with six kids ages 9 and under. Captain Alex and First mate Aaron found out exactly what we like to do and they made it happen. The snorkeling was amazing, lunch from the pizza boat was delicious and fun and the time out on the water all day cannot be beat. Thank you Seas the Day and especially to Alex and Aaron. Our day really could not have been better!!!

An amazing experience to St. John! We went to snorkel at 2 different places that were both beautiful! Captain Greg and Coleman were amazing and so nice. They answered all of our many questions about the island and gave us the best information. They were so knowledgeable! We never felt rushed and we felt like they wanted to give us the best experience possible. The boat was so clean and the snorkeling gear was great. Very professional. This is the charter to book!

The entire staff (Becca, Kendall, the Captain and Another Gentlemen that has a twin on staff at the resort) were fun and SO great. They made sure everyone was served, safe and having a great experience.

What an amazing 2 hour experience. The crew was absolutely wonderful. The cocktails along with the views were awesome. Got back just in time to freshen up and have dinner.

We had an amazing time on both the sunset harbor cruise and the half day snorkeling with turtles! Open bar for the whole sunset cruise and again after exiting the water from snorkeling. The captain and crew are kind and helpful. The boat is big and well-maintained. Bolongo Bay resort makes it easy as the catamaran departs from the resort. Just bring your camera, sunscreen and a tip for your amazing crew.

Please be aware that the Captain might have to alter the destination due to weather conditions. The two hour sail over takes you along the scenic south side of St. Thomas, through current cut on the eastern tip where the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans meet, and across Pillsbury sound where St. John beckons. At our special mooring you will have at least two hours to swim, snorkel, or just relax on the beach or on board. A vibrant coral reef is easily accessible. Snorkel gear, instruction and guided tour is provided. Sodas, juices, water are available throughout your tour, and after snorkeling there is a full complimentary bar available and a delicious deli-style luncheon.

We had an incredible trip yesterday to Buck Island with a great crew on Heavenly Days Catamaran. We got to snorkel with several green sea turtles and saw small rays and the beautiful Cove at Buck Island which is a protected nature sanctuary. The water was crystal clear with a nice variety of fish and corals opening up to sandy areas with grasses that the turtles love. A great three hour sailing trip on a big catamaran in paradise. The fun young crew made the trip special too.

Heavenly Days is a well maintained boat with an excellent staff of three addressing the clients. When we struggled to find turtles at first, Toni took the guided tour to the reef and described much of the coral and fish. This was beyond any snorkel tour I've encountered. We did get back to the turtles and were able to watch them underwater and at the surface. Highly recommend for this and the sunset cruise that goes over to Charlotte Amalie Harbor.

We had a fantastic time aboard the Heavenly Days Catamaran on our Swim with the Sea Turtles excursion while staying at the Bolongo Bay Resort. The crew (Captain James, Deanna & Toni) went above and beyond and really showed us a great time. The trip lasted just over 3 hours and included a snorkel tour of Turtle Cove. We were up close and personal with the turtles Lucky (only has 3 flippers) Squirt and Barnacle Betty. Big thanks to the crew for offering this wonderful experience.

The Story of Lady Lynsey

Many years ago, when the Golden Age of sail and piracy came to the Caribbean, a young girl was born to a poor family that lived in the Virgin Islands. She was named “Lynsey”, and she would become one of the fiercest pirates to ever sail the seas.

But women couldn’t become captains in those days, let alone become part of the crew. So when she came of age, she dressed up as a lad, kidnapped her best friend Jack, and signed up as part of a ship’s crew.

Jack eventually became the ship’s cook and was nicknamed “Dusty” for constantly covering the ship’s mess with flour as he hastily prepared the crew’s meals. But headstrong Lynsey was never promoted to anything higher than a swab, relegated to cleaning the bilges and tidying up after the rest of the crew. Still, she never lost sight of her dream.

We had Eric and Mariah. They were so knowledgeable on the history and geography it was very nice. We have 5 picky eaters and they all loved the food. Everything was delicious and we had a wonderful time. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a great time on the water to see some beautiful reefs and breathtaking views.

If you thought seeing turtles, manta rays and tropical fish was amazing...wait until you have the gourmet chicken Caesar salad! Long time salad eater- this one blew me away! Captain John was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable! Never realized how much fun it would be on a private charter for the day, picking what spots we wanted to go snorkeling, and resting out on the net with friends and family between swims.

A truly incredible experience! The crew was fantastic, full of rich knowledge about the area , they kept the entire group entertained all day. The food was amazing and the perfect amount to keep you exploring all afternoon! The Pirate Punch was a refreshing treat whilst traversing the high seas! Truly amazing experience, they enabled us to see the beauty of the islands both above and below the water and experience I’ll remember forever.

Where do I start the charter was great. They’ll take you to all the best spots for snorkeling or viewing. They know their history of the island. The lunch we had was so simple but the care put into it made it one of the best meals I had on the island! If you’re looking for a great time this charter is surely exactly what you’d want.

I know my husband left a review as well but I wanted to take a minute to tell everyone how great our day was with Sweet Pea. It was a surprise for our kids who had no idea we were going. We just had the best time. From the atmosphere to the food and drinks it was all so well done. We saw amazing things snorkeling (ie dolphins, spotted rays, turtles) and our lunch was spectacular. We played in the water swam to beaches and enjoyed the day. Please don’t hesitate to book-it was the best money spent!

What an incredible experience. Was a wonderful day made so by the competent and pleasant crew, Captain John and first mate Mariah. We are a relatively discerning family and this experience more than met our expectations. Please don't go looking any further because no need to do so. This will be the best day you spend on the islands and worth every penny.

Had an amazing day out on the boat. From the breakfast treats, to snorkeling, to lunch, everything was fantastic. John and Mariah took us to some amazing spots, pointed out the landscape and history of the islands and helped us see some turtles, sting rays, and great reefs. Highly recommend a day out on the Sweet Pea and hanging out with Jeep, the dog on board!

This was our 2nd time out on Sweet Pea. Although the crew was not the same as last year, the experience was awesome! Captain Eric and Mariah were very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Snorkeling was beautiful. Rum punch and lunch were tasty! Boat Day is the best day! Can't wait to do it again!

Virgin Islands Yacht Charters directly manages the charter fleet.  We are not a broker.  We do work with many reputable and trustworthy charter brokers who regularly book our boats and are familiar with our procedures and knowledgeable of the local cruising grounds.  At the same time, there are many brokers out there who know absolutely nothing about our fleet OR even the Virgin Islands themselves.  Please be aware. 

Catamarans are wonderfully spacious and provide ample area for moving around.  Whether it is in the cockpit or salon which spans over both hulls allowing for a larger area inside, the foredeck with the trampoline  for sun-tanning, or the great lounging area on the top deck you will enjoy the variety of ways to spend your day on the water.  Cats are much more stable than their counterparts which can be much better for new or inexperienced sailors who haven't quite found their sea legs yet or those who are prone to seasickness.   Two engines allow for greater maneuverability when in a marina or picking up mooring balls and thus, have gained popularity in recent years.  And, you will love the panoramic views!
