45m Feadship motor yacht Blue Sky sold

The 44.6-metre motor yacht Blue Sky has been sold with Carmen Lau at Camper & Nicholsons representing the seller and Brian Muston of Muston & Associates representing the buyer.

Blue Sky was delivered by Dutch shipyard Feadship in 2013 and was built of steel and aluminium. She is the only model in Feadships’s F45 Vantage series to feature a helicopter landing pad. The broker pointed out that she has had one owner since new.

Her exterior profile is the work of De Voogt Naval Architects and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and is distinctive thanks to her eight rectangular windows each side. British studio Bannenberg & Rowell created the elegant interior.

The main deck is home to a spacious owner’s suite with vast skylights bringing in bright natural light. The remaining four guest cabins are also located on the main deck. There are quarters for a crew of nine.

Other highlights include a karaoke room in the sky lounge, accompanied by a large television, and a Mahjong room that could be repurposed as an extra stateroom if required.

Twin MTU engines push the 499GT Blue Sky to a top speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots.

Lying in Hong Kong, Blue Sky was last asking $22,800,000.

Blue Sky features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 10,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1 SSC YACHT MONO G6 [+] LMC, UMS classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

103' Cheoy Lee Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht BLUE SKY

*Not for sale to US resident while in US waters. Cheoy Lee started building boats in 1870 and now 147 years later, the yard is still owned by the same family. Yachts are only a small part of the Cheoy Lee business, as they build many commercial vessels and this commercial heritage is obvious in the engine rooms of all yachts built by them. This yacht was built in ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) class and has had required inspections and surveys and kept up to ABS Class. This raised pilothouse motor yacht is full fiberglass construction and is powered by twin 1800 HP MTU diesels. There are four staterooms plus two crew cabins, a country kitchen and a massive flybridge for entertaining. 

Entrance to the boat is from sliding doors mid ship on both port and starboard sides and from a large door on the aft deck. When coming into the full beam main salon from the aft deck the space feels very open and airy with great headroom. To the port side is the main seating area with a custom semicircular couch, and two occasional chairs around an oval glass and zebra wood coffee table. The entertainment center, with flat screen television on a hi lo lift is built of high gloss zebra wood also. The carpeting is recent and all the headliners have been replaced. To starboard is the private staircase to the owner's stateroom, totally isolated from the rest of the guest staterooms that are forward. Window blinds are natural bamboo stained to match the interior wood. Forward of the seating area, past a low room divider, is the dining area featuring a zebra wood table with seating for six. The divider is made up of storage cabinets and there are more storage cabinets to both sides of the yacht, plus along the forward bulkhead including glass racks in the cabinets. A wine cooler is conveniently located next to the table and the cabinets are deep enough to set up a buffet on the counter tops. The dining table is zebra wood with eight chairs and has matching zebra wood oval recessed lighting over the table.

Moving forward there is a day head to starboard and there are passageways on both sides of the boat leading to the country kitchen. The seating area is forward of the main kitchen counter with granite tops and back splash. The woods used in the galley are lighter than the main salon to brighten the area. There is an "L" shaped couch and an office area to the port side. The galley is equipped GE Monogram stainless appliances.

Access to the master cabin is from a separate stairway from the aft end of the main salon, so that it is isolated from the guest staterooms. In the hall is a stacking GE washer dryer. The stateroom is full beam midship with a centerline walk around king berth with end tables to each side. The wall behind the headboard is fully mirrored to increase the feeling of space. Storage is ample in this cabin with three drawers below the king bed, a triple dresser flanked by closets to port plus a walk-in closet off the forward head. There are two separate heads, totally apart from each other, one forward and one aft, both have stall showers and ample counter space. The forward head also has a full-size jet tub. Across from the king berth is an entertainment center with flat screen television. All of the headliners have been replaced along with the rest of the yacht.

Guest Staterooms

Access to the guest areas is from a curving stairway forward of the dining area below the raised pilothouse. There are three staterooms forward. There is a second washer dryer in the companionway leading to the forward VIP stateroom. This VIP has an ensuite head with stall shower, cedar lined closet and walk around island queen berth. Exotic woods with alternating grain patterns highlight the rich look of the cabin with high end wall coverings on the upper portions of the walls. The second VIP stateroom is located to port with another queen berth, ensuite head with stall shower and cedar closet. Designed with the same exotic woods with distinctive grains in a contrasting pattern. Stateroom three has two single berths for more versatility with guests, ample storage areas and another ensuite head with stall shower.

The raised pilothouse has good visibility for operation in poor weather or to be in climate controlled comfort. Two Stidd helm seats allow the skipper and an observer to have a comfortable seating next to each other looking forward. An "L" shaped couch with table makes a good navigation table for the captain and a place for family and guests to observe.

Guests and family can access the flybridge from two stairways, one in the pilothouse and the other from a curved, molded fiberglass stairway from the back deck. There is plenty of space for entertaining with an "L" shaped couch with table to port, two chaise style sun loungers with reversible back rests and a hot tub with molded in steps to climb in. A refrigerator, ice maker, grill and sink add great convenience for guests.  The flybridge helm has two Stidd helm chairs on a raised platform for added visibility when underway. There are docking wing stations to both port and starboard and the starboard station also has a raised platform. Aft there is another docking station for backing into a slip. Aft is the tender and davit and over size storage compartments. The davit is Marquipt hydraulic with telescoping crane, with 2,500 pound capacity and equipped with power rotation. The tender is a 2002 wide body 18' Nautica with 115 HP Yamaha two stroke outboard.

The teak covered back deck has a molded in aft bench seat with rectangular Corian top table with four wicker chairs. The "L" shaped wet bar with triple Jenn Aire grill, ice maker and refrigerator has a Corian counter top for ease of maintenance. There is a safety gate to the curving stairway leading to the swim platform and crew and engine room access. There are boarding gates to both port and starboard and a 15 foot hydraulic passerelle (boarding ramp) stored inside a compartment under the swim platform stairs. The fore deck has access from both port and starboard sides of yacht. Big windows in the doors and to the sides of the doors let in lots of natural light. The foredeck has wide side decks to get to the bow bench seat and for crew to get to the windlass. All of the easy care nonskid paint on the bow and flybridge has recently been refinished, and the varnish cap rails forward have been redone as of June 2017.

Rishi Sunak looks to have seen off his backbenchers - at least for now.

The nascent rebellions have gone quiet in the past few weeks and the Commons is in its Easter recess, with MPs returning to Westminster on 15 April.

Time away from parliament normally strengthens - or at least prevents the further collapse - of a prime minister, as MPs disperse back to their constituencies and away from the plot-heavy fug of Westminster.

But a potential flashpoint is looming: May's local elections.

A particularly bad performance by the Tories could lead to fresh pressure on the PM's leadership and prove to be the catalyst for a concrete move to oust Mr Sunak.

Sky News explains how Tory MPs could get rid of the PM and - if they are successful - who would likely be in the running to replace him.

Some fresh polling has just been published with voters' views on the government, the opposition, and voting intention at the next election, expected later this year.

According to the latest weekly poll by Redfield and Wilton, just 42% of people who voted Conservative in 2019 will vote for the party again this year.

That figure is the lowest since Rishi Sunak became PM - and is just five points higher than the percentage (37%), recorded in the dying days of the short-lived Truss premiership.

21% of 2019 Tory voters say they would vote for Reform UK, 20% for Labour, and 5% for other parties.

There is better news for Sir Keir Starmer, with 79% of 2019 Labour voters saying they would back the party once again.

Overall, the poll finds that Labour's lead has jumped four percentage points in the last week, putting the party on a 24 percentage point lead over the Conservative Party.

The Sky News live poll tracker - collated and updated by our Data and Forensics team - aggregates various surveys to indicate how voters feel about different political parties.

As Labour launches its local elections campaign, it is still sitting comfortably on a roughly 19-point lead, averaging at 43.1% in the polls, with the Tories on 23.8%.

In third is Reform UK on 11.9%, followed by the Lib Dems on 10.2%.

The Green Party stands at 5.6%, and the SNP on 3.0%.

Rishi Sunak's Conservatives are on course to win fewer than 100 seats in the general election, according to a major poll that suggests the party is facing the worst result in its history.

A survey of 15,000 people, used to build a seat-by-seat breakdown, indicated the Tories would win in just 98 constituencies in England and get wiped out in Scotland and Wales.

Labour's Sir Keir Starmer could be swept into power with a landslide victory of 468 seats, the study for Survation forecast.

The survey put Labour on 45%, with the Tories 19 points behind on 26%.

It gave the Scottish National Party 41 seats, the Liberal Democrats 22 and Plaid Cymru two.

As we've been reporting, the government is facing a rebellion from its own backbenches over plans to "criminalise" homelessness.

Rough sleeping is illegal under the 200-year-old Vagrancy Act 1824 - despite the government voting for it to be repealed two years ago.

The new Criminal Justice Bill, that will replace the Act, contains provisions to allow police to forcibly move on rough sleepers, among other measures such as "nuisance prevention orders".

While the government claims it wants to target "nuisance begging" and not general homelessness, charities like Crisis have pointed out the definition provided by the government is broad and includes criteria like sleeping in a doorway, creating "excessive smell", or someone "looking like they are intending to sleep on the streets" ( read more here ).

Well, it's not just the government's own MPs opposed to the measures. You will probably be unsurprised to learn that Labour is furious as well.

The party's shadow policing minister, Alex Norris, said in a statement: "With soaring serious violence, plummeting charging rates and rock bottom levels of confidence in policing the criminal justice bill was a chance to address crucial community safety issues.

"Instead the government have chosen to go after homeless people or indeed anyone who smells. These are the twisted priorities of a government out of time."

But a government spokesperson told Sky News that ministers are "determined to end rough sleeping for good" and have "published a strategy to tackle the root causes of why people end up on the streets".

The spokesperson added: "Nobody should be criminalised for simply having nowhere to live, which is why we committed to repealing the outdated Vagrancy Act, which was passed in 1824.

"We will replace this with new legislation focused on supporting people to get off the streets, while allowing local authorities and the police to address behaviour that can make the public feel unsafe, such as begging at cashpoints."

However, it remains on the statute books until a suitable replacement can be introduced - which is what the government hopes the Criminal Justice Bill will do.

The bill contains provisions to allow police to forcibly move on rough sleepers, among other measures such as "nuisance prevention orders".

The government has been accused of "abandoning" its pledge to ban no fault evictions by the time of the next general election.

Housing minister Jacob Young sent a letter to Conservative MPs dated 27 March which said the power under Section 21 of the Housing Act would remain in place until an assessment had been made of the legal system to see if it could handle the changes.

A Section 21 order allows landlords to evict tenants without providing a reason for doing so.

The Conservative 2019 manifesto pledged to abolish the mechanism, and was planning to do so through the Renters Reform Bill.

Controversy is raging in Scotland over the devolved government's new hate crime laws that have come into force in Scotland.

The new measures aim to tackle the harm caused by hatred and prejudice, extending protections from abusive behaviour to people on grounds including age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity.

A Holyrood minister, Siobhian Brown MSP, said on Monday people "could be investigated" for misgendering someone online.

Those who support the new laws insist they will make Scotland more tolerant. But critics such as Harry Potter author JK Rowling say the legislation could stifle free speech - and fails to extend these protections to women ( read more here - including about Rowling's arrest dare ).

A protest has taken place today outside the Scottish Parliament against the new laws, and one of the organisers, Stef Shaw, described them as "shambolic and dangerous".

He told the crowd: "This act has now been forced on us in the country, and oh, the irony of this hateful, spiteful hate crime law coming into play on April Fools' Day.

"You couldn't make this up. On the nation's traditional practical joke day, Humza 'Useless' and friends, along with Police Scotland, enforce such a draconian new law criminalising free speech in this country."

First Minister Humza Yousaf has defended the legislation, saying there has been a "rising tide of hatred against people because of their protected characteristics" in recent years.

"I'm very proud of the hate crime act," he said, adding it will "protect people from hatred, while at the same time protecting people in terms protecting people in terms of their freedom of expression".

There will most likely be a general election at some point in 2024, but we don't know exactly when.

We do know it won't happen on 2 May - when local elections will take place across England. 

The prime minister's "working assumption" is that it will be held in the second half of this year - but beyond that we know very little about the precise timing.

So why is this the case?

Political correspondent Serena Barker-Singh  explains:

Labour MP Dawn Butler caused something of a stir this morning by writing on X (formerly Twitter) that she had decided to leave the platform.

She wrote that the decision was made "because of all the haters and abuse I get".

But asked about the post on Sky News moments ago, she confirmed that it was an "April Fools" joke - albeit one with a serious message.

Speaking to Sky's Kamali Melbourne, the Brent Central MP said the post was "rooted in frustration" due to the volume of "hate" she was receiving on Trans Day of Visibility yesterday.

"The amount of vile abuse... I just thought, this is enough. And then I thought for a split moment, I'm going to give these bullies just that little bit, let them think that they've won.

"But they haven't won. They're not going to get me off social media, and I will continue to campaign for minoritised groups and people who are underrepresented."

Ms Butler said social media is "not a positive place to be most of the time", but added that "when it works well, it works well."
