Ten upcoming superyacht deliveries to look out for
This year has seen its fair share of spectacular superyacht projects – including Abeking & Rasmussen 's 118.2-metre flagship Liva O and Frei re 's 111.9-metre Renaissance (now one of the most expensive charter yachts on the market). But as 2023 draws to a close, there are still a few new superyachts to look forward to.
From the highly confidential Project Icecap to Tecnomar's recent, radical debut of This Is It , BOAT takes a peek at what's yet to officially emerge from the shed...
Builder: Heesen Length: 58.5m
Ultra G is one of Heesen's most powerful projects yet. With a propulsion package that totals 22,000 horsepower – including four water jets – she can reach an impressive 37 knots in light load conditions. A “sport fisherman in yacht disguise”, Ultra G 's custom design draws on inspiration from two previous sportfishing models built by Heesen in the nineties and features a fighting chair and storage for 40 rods. She's also equipped with a custom Vanquish tender.
Project Jag
Builder: Lürssen Length: 122m
Commissioned by an experienced client as a replacement for his 96-metre, Project Jag is one of the largest superyachts currently under construction (and the owner's third Lürssen). The project bears a number of the same design signatures as his former yachts, including an elongated bowsprit and plenty of al fresco deck space. Exteriors were designed by Nuvolari Lenard while the interiors – courtesy of Reymond Langton – are described as a “beautiful, bespoke homage to the owner's lifestyle”. There will be two staff for every guest on board.
Luminance
Builder: Lürssen Length: 145m
Another powerful-looking Lürssen, Luminance 's classic raked bow and high, brooding superstructure were photographed when she embarked on her sea trials in April. Construction on the mammoth project began in 2018 – but Luminance has since been kept tightly under wraps. Her exterior is known to be Espen Øino -designed, while her interiors have been styled by Francois Zuretti . Once delivered, she'll be the seventh largest Lürssen on the water.
Builder: Moonen Length: 33.9m
A take on the contemporary gentleman's yacht, the Moonen 110 sees René van der Velden and Diana Yacht Design team up once more, having previously worked on the Dutch shipyard's Martinique series. She also takes cues from previous models Moonen 84 and 97. London-based Studio Indigo is behind the yacht's interiors, with "a sweeping spiral staircase using fluted natural timbers" sitting at the heart of the design.
Builder: Heesen Length: 67m
Sparta is based on the yard’s 66-metre Project Avanti – first presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018, the sporty, low-profile design caught the eye of its commissioning owner. Last spotted heading out to sea trials, the 1,200GT superyacht is Heesen's largest steel construction to date and has been styled inside and out by British studio Winch Design . Her interiors are said to follow an elemental theme with different sections dedicated to water, earth and air.
Project Icecap
Builder: Lürssen Length: 107m
When she was revealed last summer at Lürssen’s Wolgast yard, it was clear that Project Icecap was shaping up to be a very capable explorer yacht. With an axe-style bow and the superstructure well forward, the yacht should punch safely through big seas, while offering big cargo-carrying capacity on the open aft deck. Owner’s rep Moran Yacht & Ship described the boat as "diesel-electric powered", while an ice-classed hull, heli-hangar and forward observation lounge are also on the spec sheet.
Builder: Rossinavi Length: 59.4m
Rossinavi's first ever explorer yacht, Akula was rolled out of the shed in June sporting a striking scarlet hull by Gian Paolo Nari . Once delivered, she'll support "marine research activities and philanthropic projects" with her variety of diving equipment, custom open-air observation deck and two six-metre containers which act as transportable science labs. Fitted with diesel-electric propulsion, Akula also has "optimised fuel consumption" for a lower environmental impact during long periods of time at sea.

New build yacht faq.
The yacht building process is the ultimate journey for any prospective yacht Owner, allowing you to tailor every detail to your exacting requirements. New build yacht projects involve a considerable amount of creativity and freedom of expression, from pre-designed and semi-custom yachts to fully-custom superyacht builds.
The yacht-building process requires a significant number of important decisions as an Owner, so having the support and expertise of an experienced yacht brokerage company is essential to ensure things run smoothly. At YACHTZOO, we coordinate your yacht build with key players across the industry to ensure we deliver the yacht of your dreams. Discover all you need to know about the yacht building process to help you define your options.
What are the benefits of building your own yacht?
A custom yacht enables the Owner to build a vessel that precisely meets their precise needs. Whether you seek a cutting-edge sailing yacht designed for long-range cruising, an opulent superyacht designed for cruising blue water havens or a state-of-the-art ocean explorer for cruising unchartered waters, a new build yacht can be made to match any lifestyle.
The main benefit of building your own yacht is the element of personalisation it brings. When building a custom yacht, nothing is off-limits from the size, layout, amenities, interiors, and exterior design.
A custom yacht also allows for the option to choose a reduced carbon footprint by utilising the latest eco-friendly technology, including state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion systems, wastewater recovery systems and solar panels.
With the currently low inventory due to unprecedented yacht sales over the past two years, building your dream yacht may be the ideal option.
How long does it take to build a yacht?
The time of the yacht building process can vary considerably depending on the size, type, interiors, technical considerations, customization and extra amenities you wish to have onboard, as well as the shipyard and their availability. On average, yacht construction can take anywhere from 18 months to 4 years.
What is a fully custom yacht?
A fully-custom superyacht is the pinnacle of luxury yacht construction. Every aspect of aesthetic and technical design is bespoke and constructed to your specifications. A fully-custom yacht build is an exciting yet complex undertaking, requiring 2.5 to 4 years to develop. The road from concept to the yacht building process can be long and involves considerable research and planning.
Building a custom superyacht can be a superb experience when working alongside a reputable yacht brokerage like YACHTZOO. Our highly skilled agents can assist with all aspects of project management, from liaising with the shipyards, engineers and interior designers, to the yacht’s classification and flag.
What is a semi-custom yacht?
A semi-custom yacht allows for the best of both worlds when it comes to the yacht building process, offering faster lead times and reduced costs, as well as a large flexibility to personalise the vessel to your exact tastes and lifestyle.
Built on a proven platform - and sometimes on spec - this option reduces delivery time by around a third or more, taking 2 to 3 years to complete on average. While you may not have control over the pre-engineering and technical specifications, a varying degree of customisation is still available throughout the interior design and options list of the semi-custom models to ensure the creation of a yacht bespoke to you.
What is a production yacht?
A production yacht is a tried and trusted way to keep costs and delivery time considerably lower than custom construction projects. While production yachts offer the least amount of creative freedom in terms of design, layout and interior, many production yachts boast flexible layouts and interior design options, allowing for your own personal touch in a fraction of the usual yacht build time. The typical building process for a production yacht should take 1.5 to 2 years.
Whether you are looking to purchase a fully-custom, semi-custom or production yacht, YACHTZOO’s experienced team takes the time to understand exactly your requirements, expectations, and parameters. Contact the team today and start your yacht building journey.

The Largest Superyachts Launched So Far in 2023
By Frances Flannagan
In the lead up to the yacht show season, it is only fitting to take a look at the largest, most impressive launches of 2023 so far. From complex refits, to technically advanced, future-proof new builds, we take a look at the five largest launches of the year so far, according to Superyachts.com's Top 100 list of the largest yachts in the world.
145m - LUMINANCE
Builder: Lürssen
A highly anticipated project, LUMINANCE was launched in February this year; Lürssen’s eighth largest build and ranking as the 12th largest yacht in the world. Her details were kept tightly under wraps, contributing to her alluring nature, but it has been revealed that the exterior design is the work of Espen Øino , marking the thirtieth collaboration between the designer and shipyard. She is said to have an internal volume of 9,000 GT and a beam of 20 metres, whilst sporting a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
According to Superyachts.com's Top 100 list, LUMINANCE ranks at 12th largest yacht in the world.
114m - Project Cosmos
In March, Lürssen’s 114.2m Project Cosmos was technically launched. Otherwise known as Project 13759, this is the first time that she was seen. Like LUMINANCE, very little has been revealed about her details, aside from her having an interior volume of around 6300GT, a beam of 18m, and a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Project Cosmos is the first Lürssen superyacht to feature new fuel cell technology, significantly reducing emissions by avoiding greenhouse gases.
From her technical launch, we can see that Project Cosmos has a large aft deck and swimming pool, as well as a cut-out that we can presume will house a tender. She is a highly impressive build, ranking as the 44th largest yacht in the world according to our Top 100 listings.
105m - 1050H
Builder: Oceanco
On the 10th of January 2023, one of the industry’s most closely-kept secrets was brought to light as Oceanco’s Project 1050H was launched. Neither a newbuild, refit, or conversion, this has been a fundamental rebuild of unprecedented scale, completely transforming a heritage superyacht.
Project 1050H is the first vessel that has been recreated to such an extent that no single element remains the same. This launch set the benchmark of future innovation in the industry: a future-proof vessel that is a testament to Oceanco’s desire to perfect even the most complex builds. She has a modern exterior aesthetic, with a completely new superstructure, with a fresh interior designed by Reymond Langton Design.
As well as being impressive aesthetically, her performance, technology and sustainable nature are all elements to be equally marvelled at. She is fully compliant with rigorous IMO Tier III standards alongside upgraded technological capabilities.
The launch of 1050H was certainly a celebrated start to 2023, whilst also ranking 63rd on our Top 100 list.
90m - Project 1601
Soon after LUMINANCE emerged from Lürssen’s Bremen facility, 90m Project 1601 was launched. Like LUMINANCE, her construction was kept very secretive, but her emergence from the shipyard revealed a unique exterior profile, with prominent lines and a striking reverse bow design.
Espen Øeino is responsible for the exterior design, alongside the in-house team at Lürssen overseeing the naval architecture. Dölker & Voges Design have crafted the interior spaces, which are yet to be revealed.
84m - Project 710
Builder: Feadship
On the 20th April, Feadship’s 80m Project 710 was launched. She has earnt the honour of being one of Feadship’s most technically advanced and dynamic designs, so her launch sparked nothing but excitement.
As well as being aesthetically beautiful, with a low profile, horizontal styling features and clean shapes, she is also the perfect next step in Feadship’s path towards achieving the build of zero-emission superyachts by 2030, with an expected 90% reduction of total CO2 emissions. She is the perfect vessel for relaxation as well as entertaining, with an Aqua Lounge with massive windows below water level allowing for connection with the outdoors, as well as the ability to accommodate up to 14 people, making her just as sociable as she is stunning.
"It is a proud moment for me to see the nearing completion of this transformation, having personally been involved in returning 1050H to her birthplace for this ambitious project." Dr. Barwani, Chairman, Oceanco

YOUR SPECIAL PLAYGROUND FOR YACHT BUILDS FROM 35 to 65 METERS
The shipyard.
The construction of Dynamiq yachts is carried out in the Antalya Free Zone, Turkey, which is a government-protected area that benefits from a special tax regime lowering costs and hosts a cluster of high profile shipyards from both Turkey and the Netherlands. Dynamiq occupies the most modern and newest facility in the Free Zone, with 10,000 m 2 covered space and access to a 2,000 ton syncrolift for safe and easy launching. The sheds are well fitted out for building the full range of Dynamiq superyachts up to 65 meters in length. Various powertrain options are available including hybrid or diesel-electric technology.
The works are organized with international subcontractors from Germany, Austria and Italy, who team up with the best local craftsmen to achieve a level of quality in line with North European standards. Dynamiq has in-house interior, teak and stainless steel production to ensure that the end product finish is absolutely perfect and minimize the risks of delays. The shipyard working environment is carefully managed and strict quality control standards are maintained by both the Dynamiq team and external surveyors from Europe. Dynamiq organized dedicated modern office spaces to welcome owner's representatives and crew members.
Designed in MONACO. ENGINEERED IN THE NETHERLANDS. CRAFTED IN TURKEY.
The Dynamiq range is a product of leading European technology and craftsmanship. This unique international approach has created an innovative superyacht of the highest quality born from a collaboration of the world’s top superyacht design and construction experts.

WHY DYNAMIQ?
Forward thinking design, innovative naval architecture, highest engineering standards, top-quality steel & aluminium construction, ocean-going range, smart pricing.
Dynamiq's unique exteriors look impressive and fresh and express the sporty, chic soul of our yachts. They not only look great, but also perform at the top of their class and lend owners a sense of exclusivity and pride.
Dynamiq’s high efficiency is based on innovative technologies in modern naval architecture: fast displacement hull lines, the Hull Vane under the stern, and Sleipner curved fin stabilizers. Completely drawn by leading naval architects in the Netherlands, all Dynamiq yachts feature a round-bilge shape for remarkably low resistance and low fuel consumption, while providing seaworthiness and comfort with long waterline length and low centre of gravity.
Each Dynamiq yacht is by definition safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly in accordance with the strictest RINA and BV Commercial Class standards, prestigious Comfort and Green Star Plus notations, Large Yacht Code 4 (LY4) compliancy and manning standards. This not only makes our vessels ultra-safe and almost silent, but also means they can be chartered to offset the cost of ownership.
Only certified marine-grade steel, aluminium and Sealium are used for Dynamiq hulls and superstructures. In comparison with composite hulls, they are much quieter, easier to repair and have higher trade-in value due to the fact that they have a very long service life.
Dynamiq yachts are designed with an ocean-going capability in mind, which means owners have the opportunity to enjoy multiple seasons during the year (say Mediterranean and Caribbean) and visit remote locations with no re-fueling infrastructure. Equipped with high-capacity marine fridges and freezers, cold garbage stores, separate laundry facilities, plenty of storage space, generous fresh water tanks and powerful water-makers, Dynamiq yachts provide autonomy at sea in complete comfort.
Combining Dutch engineering with production facilities in the one of the biggest Turkish shipbuilding hubs of Antalya Free Zone means Dynamiq can offer North European standards and quality craftsmanship at significantly reduced prices. Being pioneers in the superyacht industry, Dynamiq also has an Online Configurator where clients can customize their yachts in a few clicks and see in real time how the price and delivery times vary.

The Northrop & Johnson Advantage
Why work with us
Building a custom yacht is an exciting and rewarding experience but can also be daunting. At Northrop & Johnson, we understand the intricacies and complexities of the yacht-building process and have the expertise and resources to guide you through every step of the way. Here are just a few reasons why you should choose Northrop & Johnson to build your dream yacht:

Northrop & Johnson has been a market leader in building, selling, and managing superyachts since its inception. Our track record speaks for itself: in 2022, we signed seven new builds worth $153 million, more than any other brokerage firm, according to Superyacht Times’ 2022 market report. Our team has completed more than 129 new builds, giving us unparalleled experience and expertise in yacht building.
Deep Knowledge of the Entire Yacht Building Process
Many of our Northrop & Johnson brokers and team members began their careers in the shipyards, giving them a deep knowledge of the entire process from start to finish. This means they have a fundamental understanding of the language of shipyards and the in-depth industry knowledge required to oversee the whole project. From regulations and market trends to design and tech innovations, our team has the expertise to ensure your dream yacht is future-proofed and built to the highest possible standards.
Specialist Industry Insight and Regular Shipyard Tours
Because we’re so active in the industry, we know what the shipyards are doing, which ones have open build slots and the strengths and specializations of each yard. Several of our expert brokers have extensive executive experience at these yards, and our culture of family and collaboration means they are only too happy to step in to help. With regular tours of yards worldwide, our team of yacht brokers is perfectly positioned to advise which builders suit your unique vision.
These tours allow us to stay current on the latest trends, innovations, and developments in yacht construction. We observe first-hand how different shipyards approach construction and the new techniques and technologies they use to design and build yachts. This knowledge is then passed on to our clients, allowing you to benefit from the latest advancements. It is also an opportunity for us to assess the quality of different shipyards’ work, ensuring our clients’ yachts are built to the highest possible standards.
Greater Flexibility and Choice
With our extensive, active network of shipyards, we can offer you greater flexibility regarding scheduling and availability. When one shipyard is fully booked or unavailable, we can quickly pivot to another without compromising quality or timelines. Your dedicated broker will only be to happy to arrange for you tours of shipyards, allowing you to see firsthand the quality and craftsmanship of different shipyards.
Behind the Scenes
To aid you in your decision-making process, we have partnered with renowned YouTuber David Seal, a respected figure in the yachting industry. Phases of a new build
The construction of a new yacht is an exciting and rewarding process, requiring careful planning and attention to detail. While each new construction and shipyard will be unique, they follow a similar approach.
Design and planning
This is the first and most crucial phase of any new build. Our team will work closely with you to determine your needs and preferences. We will need to discuss your specific requirements: What kind of build do you want? Where do you plan to cruise? What kind of performance will your vessel need? What spaces and amenities do you envision having aboard?
We will then advise which shipyards, architects and designers are the most suitable for your project and work with them to create a customized design to meet your needs.
Hull construction
Once the design is finalized, hull construction begins. Our team will liaise with your chosen shipyard to ensure that high-quality materials and advanced construction techniques are used to create a strong and durable hull that will withstand the rigors of the sea. Throughout the hull construction phase, we closely communicate with the shipyard to monitor progress and ensure the work is carried out to your specifications.
Interior and deck construction
With the hull complete, the focus shifts to the interiors and deck spaces. Skilled artisans will install wiring, plumbing and other systems and create the various rooms and interior and exterior living spaces.
Sea trials and delivery
The final construction phase involves several sea trials to test the yacht’s performance and ensure all systems function correctly. Once this has been completed to your satisfaction, your vessel is ready to be delivered.
Yacht design
What sort of build are you interested in? You have options.
Generally, there are three kinds of builds, each with pros and cons. They depend on the level of customization you’d like.
Production builds are usually part of a line of pre-designed vessels. They often have standard features and accessories and offer the least customizability. They usually are the fastest to deliver and the least expensive option but can be hard to modify or upgrade after purchase. However, because they are pre-designed, they’re a proven platform with demonstrated quality.
Semi-custom
Semi-custom builds are a compromise between production and fully custom builds. They offer many customizable opportunities—particularly concerning interior and exterior décor, design, appliances and finishes—and allow the owner to be closely involved in the build. Like production builds, they are part of a pre-designed line, expediting build time and reducing costs and risk.
Entirely custom builds are naturally the most expensive and time-intensive option. However, nothing is off limits, from the size and layout to amenities, interior and exterior design and technical specifications.
Whichever you envision, we know the right experts for you.

With the delivery of your superyacht, your journey will have only just begun.

The team at 26 North Yachts is well prepared and experienced to help make these dreams become a reality. Our team will guide you through the process from start to finish, helping not only with the initial selection of the builder and designer, but all the way through until you accept delivery of your dream yacht.
The team at 26 North Yachts visits shipyards across the world annually to ensure we are well versed in current offerings from every corner of the globe. Our recent trips have taken us to shipyards in the United States, Italy, Taiwan, and The Netherlands, to name a few. From our stateside home in Fort Lauderdale, we also have access to many of the top builders right in our own town. We keep our finger on the pulse of the new build community, and we have a multitude of resources to ensure that your experience is positive – lacking in frustrations.
The Yacht Construction Process
Our process at 26 North Yachts begins with you. We want to ensure your dreams are fulfilled, so we begin with understanding them: What are your dream destinations? Do you have specific requirements for space onboard? Do you intend to charter the yacht? Do you prefer a classic yacht style, or are you looking for a design that is outside the box? Timeline and budget are also key to the initial conversation. These requirements will help determine where we begin when selecting a designer and builder.
Choosing a Designer and Builder
With a multitude of designers and builders across every continent, this selection can be daunting. Our brokers will work with you and potential shipyards through the bid process and assist with finalizing contracts.
Build Process
Once the contract is signed, our work is not done. Our brokers will assist in every step of the ongoing process to ensure effective communication between all parties. You will remain informed of the progress of your build, and your broker will keep your best interests in mind with any issues that may arise, ensuring that your new yacht is built to your exacting requirements.
Upon the delivery of your new yacht, your broker will ensure that all contractual obligations have been met, and oversee sea trials. Once you have accepted the delivery of your new vessel, should any issues arise, your 26 North Yachts broker will assist you in liaising with the factory for all warranty issues.

Building A Custom Superyacht [Complete Newbuild Guide]
July 25, 2019 11:40 am
The process of building a large yacht explained.
Placing an order for the build of a large yacht is no small undertaking. It is likely the result of a lifetime—perhaps even generations—of wealth building for such a purchase to become an option. When the time comes, how does the client start the process and where does he or she look for suitable partners? The maritime world is famously full of jargon, and the luxury yacht business is no different. Brokers , naval architects, interior designers, class societies, custom yachts, production yachts, flag states, owner’s supply, surveyors, shipyards, subcontractors, builder’s risk insurance , project managers, tank testing . . . you catch my drift.
Thought-through decisions and complicated contracts should certainly be anticipated, but as a wise man once told me about yachting, “At the end of the day, it’s all about cocktails on the beach.” While the dream of being on the water waits at the end of a newbuild process, building a yacht should be an enjoyable and rewarding process in itself.

NEWBUILD PROCESS
“Production” Yachts tend to be in the smaller range and the process will likely be simpler than for a custom build. With a finished product already in inventory and available, only minor interior design elements need to be added per the client’s choice. A number of yacht builders will begin building larger yachts in anticipation of finding a buyer later, offering “semi-custom” as an option for elements of the interior layout and design.
For the custom build, the process will look something like this:
Vision > Design > Contract > Build > Sea Trial > Delivery > Cocktails on the Beach
The above is an intense simplification. Each stage involves multiple levels of experts and support staff. The client will want to surround him or herself with qualified attorneys, technical advisors, and translators of the jargon. One other important element to mention is that the design and build contract cost will not be the only outlay required to reach the endpoint. Custom yacht contracts mostly do not include items known as “Owner’s Supply,” i.e. tenders and water toys, audio-visual/entertainment systems, loose furniture, tableware, and more. Each of these will need to be procured, stored, insured, and integrated into the yacht itself as part of the process.
LATEST TRENDS
Step one, “Vision,” allows almost anything to be conceived and delivered in a yacht. There are plenty of “concept designs” available on the internet to offer the client inspiration for their vision, but we have seen a few trends in recent years. The “plumb bow,” the explorer yacht, hybrid propulsion, podded propulsion, as well as attention to environmental impact elements of the design and subsequent operations are all topics which have received attention in the industry press.
PARTNERSHIPS
As with any high-value undertaking, a large yacht construction project will require numerous partnerships and you may be asking yourself, “Who is involved with a custom yacht build process?” With the client at the top, some or all of the following will be necessary for a successful and enjoyable project experience:
A yacht broker , to advise the client on availability and the suitable market for construction and opening budget concepts. A naval architect for concept design. An engineer for detailed design. An interior designer. Attorneys for contract review, tax advice, etc. An insurance broker . A yacht builder , who may also provide some or all of the naval architecture, engineering, and even interior design services. Flag State , to provide surveyors with approval of safety code compliance. Classification Society, a third-party service assuring the quality of construction. Owner’s Project Manager , to record and represent the client’s interests across the entire project. (Depending on the size of the yacht, this may be one person or a team.) Yacht crew. (Depending on the size and complexity of the yacht, it may be wise to start bringing a crew into the project 6-12 months from completion.) Owner’s supply vendors , for audio-visual/entertainment systems, tenders, spares, and consumable supplies all needed to be managed and integrated into the final delivery.
FLEXIBILITY
The best plans are flexible and organized carefully so that changes or delays do not derail a project entirely. With this in mind, each partnership must be equally flexible throughout the project since an owner’s design needs, the yacht’s delivery schedules, and compliance requirements often change.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The process of building a large yacht is a long-term commitment and a major investment. A prospective client may consider hiring a project manager to assist with fielding the complexities at hand, protecting the client’s interests in the process and enabling the finished dream to be delivered on time and on budget. For a “simple” project, the project manager may be one person attending the yard on an occasional basis, but for larger builds, expect to see numerous staff on the project management team—some full time and others with short-term specialties needed during particular phases of the build.
NEWBUILD PROJECTS FOR SALE
Denison Yachting represents a number of builders in various regions of the United States with dealerships for Hatteras and Horizon, both of which typically build production or semi-custom yachts. Additionally, Denison is currently offering a number of new construction projects from yards Rosetti, Numarine , and Van der Valk , who all offer fully custom and semi-custom projects. Each year, we commit to visiting various yards in Italy , Germany , and The Netherlands to stay up to date on project availability and maintain relationships with the world’s top yacht builders.
Yacht brokerage houses often show newbuilds for sale. This may be a case where a builder has a design that they are promoting to the market, or maybe have even started construction without a specific client under contract. In some cases, clients or builders will start new construction as a speculative investment intending to sell the contract to a third party.
WHATS SETS ONE BUILDER APART FROM ANOTHER?
Boat International’s Builder Directory includes 1,805 separate entries, so the choices are broad. Builders can be found in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Turkey, China, Taiwan, Australia, and beyond. Some builders may specialize in a particular material, i.e. GRP, aluminum, or steel, and others may limit the size, the numbers, or the design choices (custom/production.) A client may use any of these to narrow down the selection, but the real distinction between builders will be the manner in which they treat the client. If the client is made welcome in the builder’s facility throughout the process, that builder will more than likely succeed. If the builder is transparent in their process, then they will succeed. If a builder says “yes” to every client request but fails to deliver, then they will likely fail.
Once a client has a particular style of yacht in mind, the selection of suitable builders will narrow down even further and the client’s broker should assist that process with their knowledge of the market. Then the client may consider asking candidate yards to suggest design concepts, then begin the evaluation and decision process. If using an independent naval architect to produce a concept, they may suggest suitable builders for the vision.
WHAT SETS A BRAND APART?
There are innumerable brokerages willing to sell a client a newbuild, and just as many builders who would likely be willing to deal direct. Do all of those companies have the depth of experience, integrity, expertise, and background that is needed to assist a client seeking to embark on such a high-value and complex project? Has that broker taken the time to learn the market options available? Do they have the skills necessary to listen and advise for the client’s benefit rather than their own? Denison has the build and brokerage experience matched with the knowledge and integrity required to take a client to the next level of their yachting dream.

Penned by Valentin Design, the B165 has a good 17 feet on its predecessor. (The current flagship, the B145 , measures 145 feet.) The newcomer also showcases an elongated aft deck that distinguishes it from other fleet members.
“The aim was to create a new kind of explorer,” studio founder Valentin Weigand said in a statement. “A true crossover, where usability and practicability combine with an elegant, experience-driven design.”
With a beam of just under 30 feet, the yacht offers plenty of space on board yet still has an interior volume of less than 500 GT (499 GT, to be exact). Designed by Bering’s in-house team, the generous living quarters can comfortably accommodate 12 seafarers or more. The main deck features a spacious lounge, dining room, two VIP cabins, and a cinema room that can be turned into an additional guest cabin if required, while the lower deck is equipped with three guest suites, the galley, the crew mess, and four crew cabins.
Heading upstairs, the owner’s deck sports an owner’s suite that opens to a private lounge and spa. The deck is also home to a skylounge and alfresco dining area aft. To top it off, literally, the bridge deck is dedicated to a plush lounge with a bar, TV, and firepit.
Back down below, the aft deck is adorned with a sizable swimming pool and sunbeds. It is also equipped with fold-out bulwarks that create extra space as needed and a crane that can be used to launch the two tenders from the deck. At the stern, the swim platform features two inviting sun pads and stairs that lead to the water.
Bering is currently working on five smaller explorer yachts , but fingers crossed we see a B165 hit the high seas soon.

Electric boats
Electric rv, revolutionizing the road trip: sealvans builds and sells electric caravan trailer boat combos.
Is it a caravan camper trailer? Is it a boat? Does it have an electric motor ? A Turkish company called Sealvans is blending the lines of recreational mobility, designing and selling trailer boat combos that deliver a hybrid mix of travel by land and sea. Check them out.
Sealvans was founded in 2020 in Bursa, Turkey, by a team of engineers whose combined experience totals over 50 years in the automotive ands maritime segments. Built upon the idea of offering customers the freedom to have a home to inhabit in every bay, forest, city, or country, Sealvans took a unique design approach – amphibious caravan trailers that can double as a boat.
That quest began with the construction of two separate prototype models – a 4.2 meter (~14 feet) trailer boat and a 7.5 meter (~24.5 feet) version. By the summer of 2022, Sealvans had completed the builds alongside their respect R&D studies, paving the way (by road and sea) for a start of production and sales operations.
Today, Sealvans offers both trailer boat combos with a slew of customizable options , including an all-electric powertrain. Here are some images of the Seal 7.50M:
Sealvans to “break the limits” with trailer boat combos
As you’ll be able to see in the video from Sealvans below, its unique hybrid blend of caravan trailer and boat gives customers to tow their fifth wheel and camp out anywhere. Or, if the lake or sea beckons, those owners can back in, unhitch, and go for a cruise on the water.
Top comment by Michi Can
If they are going to leave the trailer tongue on it, they should have called it the "Narwhal".
It is cool that you don't need to see out of the boat while driving it apparently.
The larger of the two Seal trailer boats rides on two centrally located axles for land as part of a galvanized Al-co chassis, offering a transport capacity of 3,000kg (6,600 lbs). Its exterior features EU homologated galaxy dark-glazed glass and a panoramic windshield. There is also an optional collapsible sunroof.
For trips out on the water, the Seal features monoblock marine technology as an outer fiber around the entire vessel as well as stainless chrome accents throughout. The interior features artificial or genuine teak all around and all the necessities like an electric burner hob, an 18-liter fridge, and a two-compartment gas oven. Telescopic tables make room for shock-absorbing bed legs and orthopedic mattresses – one single and one double. The water-resistant bathroom comes equipped with a shower stall and marine-grade pump toilet.
While the trailer boat seen in the images and video is powered by a Honda gas motor, Sealvans does offer all-electric options, which include two inboard DC Pod Drive motors, an 8,960 Wh battery, and a 30Ah charger.
We’ve asked Sealvans for details on pricing and performance specs of the electric versions of the trailer boats, but have yet to hear back. As of June 2023, the Seal 4.50 started at an MSRP of 28,000 euros ($30,380) and the 7.50 cost 58,500 euros ($63,500) before any add-ons or additional options. While we await a response, here’s a video of the Seal in action on both land and water:

jiejie studio transforms cluttered beijing hutong into luminous workspace
A beijing hutong becomes a modern office.
JieJie Studio’s new Beijing office began as a cluttered hutong courtyard in Fang Zhuang Chang Hu Tong. Despite its initial state, the space held promise. A persimmon tree and a rooftop terrace hinted at the potential for a tranquil environment. These elements, along with the dream of opening a teahouse, inspired the studio to renovate the courtyard into its ideal workspace . By the end of 2022, with the pandemic subsiding, JieJie Studio began renovations. The location near the Drum Tower and Nanluoguxiang offered stunning views of the surrounding Shichahai Lake. This picturesque setting became the inspiration for the design concept — the story of Boat-Building.
A Boat adrift on the Shichahai Sea
The green-canopied boat centers the second-floor terrace of JieJie Studio ‘s new workspace in Beijing. Perched above the eaves, its form evokes a ship riding the waves, creating a unique ‘stage’ and tea pavilion. The existing terrace walls and stairs were refurbished and incorporated with sail-like elements, further enhancing the nautical theme. The West Pavilion, situated on the west side of the courtyard, functions as both a reception area and a tea room, while the East Pavilion, located on the opposite side, offers flexible workspace with screen partitions dividing it into a design studio area and a tea room/breakout space.
the two pavilions by jiejie studio
Originally, a narrow enclosed space separated the East and West Pavilions of JieJie Studio’s Beijing office. To create a more open and connected feel, the studio incorporated large glass facades on both sides. This design decision offers a continuous visual experience, allowing each pavilion to appear as a picturesque scene across a metaphorical ‘shore.’ The ‘front shop, back workshop’ layout maximizes the space based on its unique location and access points. This practical approach is integrated with the Story of Boat-Building design concept. The result is a workspace that’s both functional and a whimsical dreamscape, pushing the boundaries of spatial imagery.
