background map

A curated cockpit hints at the sophisti-chic, curvaceous and clean style of the interiors, underpinned by an aesthetic floating sensation, as the dining sofa with a residential touch and the organic feel of the bar cabinet with incorporated teak tray.

Azimut-Fly68 Cockpit 3

OPEN-SPACE LIVING, ON TOP OF THE WORLD

The flybridge level is a unique open-air zone, presenting three separate but seamless habitats to be enjoyed with heightened privacy. Sunbathing in proximity of the wheelhouse forward, lunching or barbecuing with the informal luxe of an American bar, and socializing aft on sunpads or sofas, are all the experiences that the flybridge of the Fly 68 offers at a whole new level.

Azimut-Fly68 Salon 11

Sheer elegance, natural light and pure privacy.

With the living area set at the entrance, this closed-off galley, discretely posed to face the convertible dining area, is all about discovery. The ribbed wood and plexiglass concealing it let light filter through the ambience, echoing the aesthetic and function of a lantern. Hence, the warm and sophisticated solution is named Lanterna.

Modern feel, clean-cut look and convivial mood. Following the interior layout proposed for the Lanterna option, this version of the galley is more relaxed, its doorless physique allowing the sense of conviviality to connect every corner of the main deck as it opens directly onto the convertible dining room.

Untitled

Contemporary cut, open-space style and informal touch. Suggesting a smooth connection between interior and exterior ambiences, this casual galley is placed at the entrace with a half-height window that expands the opening. In honest communication with the dedicated dining across, it serves seamlessly, leaving the forward living area enveloped in the soft charm of tranquil serenity.

AN ENHANCED SENSE OF SUITE-NESS

An authentic and refined feeling of wellbeing pervades the suite. The soft and edgeless design is elevated by a palette of muted colors and the carpeting’s plush presence. Stone-effect flooring leads the way to the entrance of the ensuite bathroom, conceptually evoking two ambiences yet expressing a spa-inspired atmosphere all around the expanded space.

Our advanced toolkit

Carbon tech_0001_Fly-68

Azimut’s pioneering use of carbon fiber lamination goes beyond pure performance. The Carbon Tech Generation offers expanded volumes onboard, while maintaining excellent dynamic stability and perfect handling. Preserving the yacht’s low center of gravity, the carbon fiber was focused on the upper parts of the yacht, lightening the laminated components by up to 30% and reducing the natural roll momentum up to 15%.

Azimut_TF_Active-trim-control

Automated interceptors optimize the trim at every speed to maintain ideal hydrodynamics for performance and efficiency, at the same time negating any lateral imbalance due to sidewinds or weight distribution. With the pilot’s peace of mind assured, the driving experience is simpler and more enjoyable.

Azimut_TF_Advanced-Joystick-Controls

The Joystick acts as an analog for the yacht, offering intuitive, one-handed control in every situation. When the yacht is stopped, moving the Joystick forward or back, side to side, and twisting clockwise or counter-clockwise activates the engines to mimic that motion. It’s the easiest way to pull off precise maneuvers.

When Joystick Driving is activated, the autopilot is immediately engaged. For easy course correction, the driver may briefly twist the Joystick for 1 degree in that direction or twist and hold for 10 degrees. The Autopilot keeps a forward course after the Joystick is released.

Azimut_TF_Garmin-Control-and-Monitoring-System

The custom-installed Garmin electronics have been integrated to control and monitor every onboard system: from engines and alarms, to bilge and water discharge pumps, tank levels and engine room ventilation, right through to the sound system and the air conditioning units. The system can be accessed onboard from both the interior and exterior helm stations and, with the mobile app, remotely from a tablet or smartphone.

Azimut_TF_Air-treatment

Aircare Energy Saving completely refreshes the onboard atmosphere every two hours with filtered outside air, especially appreciated below deck. The decentralized system uses a dual-flow heat exchanger, so it can optimize both the temperature and the humidity of the incoming fresh air in each zone without increasing the parallel HVAC’s energy consumption. Meanwhile, the triple multilayered filter eliminates 98% of fine particles that pollute the air, such as pollen, dust mites, spores and even some bacteria.

certificazioni

This yacht’s design and engineering meet the highest standards for production recreational vessels. Azimut Yachts issues a declaration of the premium materials, advanced technology and rigorous testing procedures.

Navetta 68 - The Absolute Vision

Navetta 68

The Navetta 68 is a result of unburdened creativity and collaboration among our design team and artisans. Offering superior livability, her large and functional spaces are elegantly furnished, designed only to produce maximum comfort. The structure is innovative, the exterior lines are full of personality, and are outlined by the majestic, pillarless side windows.

The Navetta 68 is a yacht that best represents our vision of the absolute, just as we conceived it.

Navetta 68

All the external areas are spacious and pleasant, as well as easily accessed promoting total safety. The bow deck—set up with a sofa, an extendable table, and a sun lounger—can be reached via wide walkways that are protected, covered, and lit.

The flybridge terrace is spacious: it offers a large relaxation area, an outdoor galley with a dining table, and a helm station with side sofas. You are free to navigate in the company of your guests, whilekeeping everything under control.

The aft cockpit is designed to enhance the social side of the boat. It connects easily to the galley thanks to the opening windows and the vanishing electric glass in the shared cabinet. What could be the result? A large open space, surrounded by water, ready for your enjoyment.

Navetta 68

The main deck has been designed with comfort in mind and offers a 360-degree panorama.

Here, you can enjoy a well-equipped galley, a living room, the salon, and the entertainment area which  together offer great livability, making you feel right at home.

Thanks to creative design of the structure, which allows for four generously-sized cabins and six sliding doors, the spaces below deck are more than what you would expect from a 68-foot boat.

The master suite is located at the bow for exclusive privacy. Inside, you will find a large double bed, comfortable wardrobes for storing your luggage, and a vanity area. On both sides, two panoramic windows stretch the full beam, the en-suite head hasa double sink and a large shower made with the best materials.

The other guest cabins are designed with the same care, allowing you to enjoy your vacation at its very best, truly at home at sea.

2006 Hatteras 68 Convertible

The Hatteras 68 Convertible sports a 192-square-foot cockpit that includes a mezzanine deck for superior seating and amenities. The mezzanine houses double- size bait freezer, insulated storage tubs, tackle drawers, insulated drink storage and more. The mezzanine is designed in modular fashion, which allows each owner to customize the location of various components such as freezer, ice box or optional baitwell. Below the cockpit deck is a large, open lazarette accessible through the engine room hatch. The compartment provides an excellent location for equipment and gear storage, while an aft isolation bulkhead with door allows easy inspection of steering components. The engine room contains no space-stealing air boxes on the hull sides or air-induction vents on the exterior. That's because the 68 features a forced ventilation system that draws air from beneath the cockpit coaming.

The standard open flybridge arrangement offers wrap-around seating forward of the console along with a deep freeze and insulated chill box. The extended overhang is topped with two Murray Products helm chairs, though there is room (and a backing plate) for an optional third chair. A rear-facing jump seat provides quick access to the cockpit ladder. Hatteras' computer-based touch-screen system monitor is standard, and a generous electronics allowance will easily outfit the power-actuated electronics console. The pod-style helm station includes single-lever controls with emergency backup controls standard.

The 68 Convertible is built on a solid fiberglass hull bottom with its convex hull shape, deep propeller tunnels, large props and deep reduction gears, the 68 will deliver a shallow draft and competitive performance.

ABOUT THE 68 Enclosed

The Viking 68EB is a 68-foot sportfishing yacht with an enclosed bridge that was launched by the New Jersey-based fishing-boat builders in 2018. This yacht builds on the success of the original 68EB that was released in 2006, refining the exterior design and hull, upgrading internal mechanics and kit, and providing the sort of next-generation fishing capabilities that tournament fishermen need to stay ahead of the game. The Viking 68EB shares many similarities with the 68 Convertible , with the primary difference being the enclosed flybridge and altered layouts on the main deck.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Beam 19' 2"
  • Draft 5' 5"
  • Displacement 115,306 lbs.
  • Engine Manufacturer MTU
  • Fuel Capacity 2,060 gallons.

As with all Viking sportfishing vessels, the 68 Enclosed Bridge can be fitted with an optional tuna tower provided by Viking subsidiary Palm Beach Towers, should you desire elevated viewing and piloting of your vessel. The main helm station on this model sits within the bridge, taking up a central, forward position with superb visibility out of a wrap-around, sloping windscreen. There is a single Stidd helm-chair in black Ultra-leather here, sitting across from an ergonomic dashboard installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics and featuring Garmin instrumentation, bow thruster controls and VIPER steering. There is also room up here for a pair of forward-facing loveseats either side of the helm and an L-shaped sofa to port surrounding a teak coffee table. As an added benefit there is also an external aft-deck on the bridge with a rear-facing side sofa and a set of outdoor aft-helm controls that are perfect to use while berthing.

One level down and you will discover a 176-square foot cockpit lined in durable teak that is tailor-made for tournament fishing. There is a helm door with a lift gate, flush rod holders, a live well, fish boxes, tackle storage, fresh and saltwater pipes and a freezer out here, as well as a floor plate for the installation of a fighting chair or set of rocket launchers. The cockpit also features a mezzanine level with drinks storage and a three-seater leather sofa so that guests can comfortably sit and watch as you haul prize-worthy pelagic fish onto deck.

The internal salon impresses with teak and walnut surrounds, leather furnishings and plush carpeting throughout, and boasts a large L-shaped sofa with a coffee table to port. On the starboard side you will find a day head, cabinet space and a sinuous, curving staircase up to the bridge. Amidship there is a U-shaped dining sofa with a breakfast table, as well as a walk-in galley with a three-seater cocktail bar, custom granite worktops, a three-zone hob, a combination oven, a Sub-Zero fridge and a large sink.

Below deck layouts are subject to customization, but commonly feature three en suite staterooms plus private access to a rear en suite bunk berth that can be used as a crew quarters. Towards the bow there is a double stateroom that can be altered to accommodate an extra single bunk, while to port there is a single bedroom with a hanging closet and a private bathroom. The owner’s stateroom sits amidship, and boasts a king-sized island bed, bedside tables, maple-lined hanging closets, side cabinetry or a work desk, and a bathroom with a fiberglass shower stall.

Engine options on the Viking 68EB run from standard MAN V12s, through CAT C32B 2025MHP engines, all the way to a pair of MTU V12 M96X engines with 2002 MHP. The latter option will provide top speeds of around 40 knots with cruising speeds of 36 knots and superb acceleration. A proprietary planing hull, meanwhile, offers this yacht superb balance on the turn, plenty of buoyancy and a dry ride in a range of both inshore and bluewater conditions.

Sunreef SUPREME 68. It has more the look of a penthouse suite in an ultra-modern skyscraper from the new world than a yacht designed to sail around it. This Luxury Power Catamaran which is only available to a happy few is certainly worthy of investigation.

T he Supreme 68, will have total living space of nearly 3,230 square feet. That’s not a typo. And remember, it’s a 68-foot yacht. That’s almost as much total space on board the new Sunreef as there is indoor floor space aboard the 263-foot CRN flagship  Chopi Chopi   (whose superyacht-size outdoor space adds another 2,625 square feet for a far bigger total).

The Polish yard had already made its mark on the yachting world, when in 2003 they introduced a range of semi-custom 70 foot-plus sailing and power catamarans. Their production costs and operating techniques have led to greater accessibility to the world of elitist yachting. There are big flybridges, twin decks, crew quarters, and personalized layouts and décor reminiscent of the biggest and most expensive superyachts. Today, Sunreef is raising the bar again, offering proper floating homes with living and interior design characteristics beyond the norm. Francis Lapp, the yard’s founder, believes his vision of a boat should be that of his clients, and in order to achieve this, he imagines himself in the place of the potential owner. He envisages every possible requirement that the modern luxury yacht owner could desire. These requirements themselves are created by the spread of the big yacht market and the unmistakable trend toward more urban comfort and less in the way of boating constraints. In short, a lifestyle.

+ OVERVIEW of a SUNREEF SUPREME 68

Indeed, she is all about height–it’s eight steps from the swim platform to the main deck and another 12 to the 700-square-foot flybridge.

In between, eight guests can lounge in the cockpit, on the forward sunpads separated by an integrated jetted tub, or in the saloon with floor-to-ceiling glass accordion doors to port, starboard and aft. The galley spans the beam near the forward windows or can angle into the open floor plan.

The 68 Supreme also has an envy-inviting garage that will hold a 16’ tender, a hoist, two PWC’s, scuba tanks, and plentiful gear and water-toys. When the hydraulic transom is lowered, the garage is revealed and the transom forms a teak beach—which is really more like an entire beach club.

The helm station is on the flybridge and is protected by a composite hard-top. The single console is to starboard, just ahead of the very large U-shaped lounge and the Destroyer wheel. It’s the nerve center that commands all systems aboard.

The profile is all about angles. The hard-top has 90-degree corners and angled skylights, the transoms are squared-off, and even the hull windows are rectangular. There’s hardly a soft curve anywhere, which is a departure from recent swoopy designs and a bit refreshing. It also looks quite unconventional.

Viking 68 Boat Review

  • By Capt. Jen Copeland
  • Updated: May 8, 2018

viking yacht company 68 convertible

With a coveted invitation to Viking Yacht Company’s annual VIP preview event in hand, I set out to see what the company had in store for 2018 and beyond. The New Gretna, New Jersey, builder’s new 68 Convertible undeniably proves that Viking is living up to its company motto of building a better boat every day. After my sea trial, I caught up with Viking vice president of sales Joe Schwab and senior project engineer Bill Gibbons, who offered insight on the company’s newest addition to its fleet of sport-fishing thoroughbreds.

At first glance, there is no mistaking the sleek styling and clean lines of a Viking Yacht ; the new 68-footer is no exception. In fact, the boat’s profile is quite striking.

“Our evolution from one model to another incorporates what we learn from the last build to the next, improving as we get feedback from our demo team and our customers,” says Schwab. “We put our best foot forward with every boat we build,” says Gibbons. Assisting the Viking Design and Engineering Department from inception to post-delivery, and with more than 3,000 Viking builds in his 42-year tenure with the company, Gibbons expects excellence with every new model. “We have great technology to help ensure our ideas come to fruition, but it’s still exciting every time I hit the throttles for the first time. We nailed it again with the 68.”

Cockpit and Flybridge

Viking prides itself on the outstanding fishability of its boats. Its demonstrator teams fish hard on tournament circuits on the East and Gulf coasts and in the Pacific. Having built two Vikings myself, I can attest to the fact that the boats are well laid out in every respect. The cockpit of the 68 proves that form follows function, with plenty of room for mates and anglers to work during a busy day offshore. With 176 square feet set in golden teak, the mezzanine-equipped 68’s cockpit boasts a tremendous amount of usable space while keeping all necessary connections, cabinets, storage lockers and refrigeration out of sight but easily accessible. Tackle storage is abundant, and all the necessities are within easy reach. The boat can easily switch gears from South Florida sailfishing to big blue marlin in Bermuda and never miss a beat.

The center console design of the flybridge allows for three helm chairs in a complete walkaround style, with under-storage bench seats port and starboard and a two-person jump seat forward of the helm. The massive, temperature-controlled refrigeration box in the brow has plenty of room for bait or food when traveling for extended periods. A chiller box is easily accessible by the helmsman aft of the bench seat, and the freshwater outlet on the bridge makes those end-of-the-day washdowns quick and easy. During our sea trial, I noted that vision is excellent from the helm, with no blind spots fore or aft. Working a tripleheader of sails on light tackle or backing on a blue marlin would be no problem.

viking yacht company 68 convertible interior

The 68 follows on the heels of the company’s highly successful 72 Convertible . Viking was able to incorporate a number of the popular features of the larger boat into the 68 — including the walkaround center console flybridge helm and the tournament-tested cockpit — without compromising the interior layout, which also includes a convenient day head.

The four-stateroom/four-head layout has a full-size midship master stateroom, a VIP stateroom forward, a guest stateroom to port and crew quarters for two with discreet access. Entering the salon, the day head is immediately on the starboard side, with an L-shaped lounge to port. The well-appointed galley, with its walkaround island and raised dinette, makes onboard entertaining a breeze, while the portside companionway makes great use of the available space. The overall design is open, airy and inviting.

The layout and amenities make the 68 an excellent choice for tournaments or long-range travel, with plenty of room for privacy, onboard dinners, long runs and overnight fishing.

viking yacht company 68 convertible engine room

Engine Room

As expected, the Viking 68’s engine room is bright and well-lit, with excellent access to all maintenance points on the engines and equipment. The optional twin 1,945 hp MTU Series 2000 V12 M96L diesels are mounted directly to the hull stringers, making access to the engine beds a cinch.

The tops of the stringers are 1-inch-thick aluminum saddles that are bonded with the laminates, making it the ultimate in strength and rigidity. “This structure, including carbon fiber on the tops of the stringers, makes it stiffer — with a perfectly flat mounting area for the engines to rest on,” Gibbons explains.

Construction

The use of new materials and available technology is the latest result of Viking’s constant forward thinking, and it’s all showcased in the newest build. The company’s resin-infusion processes are continually evolving, incorporating not only end-grain balsa and composite core materials but also reinforcements such as Kevlar and carbon fiber. By utilizing these materials, Viking can build a lighter, stronger and, ultimately, faster and safer boat. Carbon fiber alone is not strong enough to tolerate the high demands of today’s sport-fishers, but as Schwab says, “By incorporating carbon fiber with materials that support it as part of the bigger laminate, we can maximize the benefits while improving overall structural integrity.”

viking yacht company 68 convertible

Performance

“At 68 feet, the ride is remarkable,” says Schwab. “We have taken what we have learned from other models — the 72, the 80 and even the smaller boats like the 62 — and put them into the 68.” The efficient hull design gives the 68-footer improved lift and performance, cruising in the mid-30-knot range and topping out at 40.5 knots.”

“This boat is sharper at the bow than our previous models, which softens the ride even more, and it’s a little flatter aft, which lifts the boat,” says Gibbons. The hull design, coupled with advancements in the VIPER steering system, results in a boat that tracks true in all sea conditions, even at a svelte 115,306 displacement pounds.

Viking refuses to allow anything but the best to roll off its production line. The company takes its research and development seriously, and the result is a vessel that wows its buyers. Viking customers expect improvement year after year, and the company, which celebrated its 54th anniversary on April 1, consistently delivers. The Viking 68 is proof of its relentless pursuit to build a better boat every day.

Convertible Perfection

(Fall 2017, New Gretna, New Jersey): Viking continues its dominance of the sportfishing yacht industry with the Viking 68, a four-stateroom blue-water convertible with unmatched performance, bulletproof construction, luxury interior accommodations and advanced propulsion and boat-control technologies. The 68 C is designed and engineered to function equally as well as a tournament-ready offshore runner and a cruising yacht with all the conveniences and technology that you’ve come to expect from Viking. The optional Seakeeper gyro stabilizer heightens the level of comfort during both fishing and cruising activities. Anglers do battle in a 176-square foot cockpit, while guests can watch from an air-conditioned observation mezzanine. Running on Viking’s proven hull shape with a 12.1-degree transom deadrise, this beautiful battlewagon delivers a soft ride in rough seas, with a 35-knot cruising speed and a top end approaching 40-plus knots. An aggressively raked stem, gently sloping sheer, swept-back black-masked windshield and flying bridge brow present a powerful yet elegant picture.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Step inside the deckhouse and enter a world of luxury, comfort, convenience and smart storage solutions. The four-stateroom, four-head arrangement is sure to please the most fastidious yachtsman as well as the most particular tournament fishermen. A high-gloss walnut finish decorates the entire interior, and the salon is a blueprint of intelligent form and function, utilizing the wide beam to its maximum potential.

From the electrically operated salon door to the pop-up 49-inch HD TV to the day head with cockpit access to the engineered-stone countertops in the galley, the 68 Convertible flows with luxury conveniences and amenities for comfortable onboard livability.

Frameless windows fill the spacious salon with an abundance of natural lighting. Air conditioning flows from hidden registers behind valances to better distribute cooling air and reduce noise. We’ve placed the electrical panel directly inside the companionway door at eye level for quick access and operation.

Open to the salon, the 68 C’s walk-around island galley maximizes space while serving as a prime socializing area that’s loaded with modern conveniences, including Sub-Zero under- counter refrigeration, and pull-out drawers on aircraft-type slide mechanisms that lock in place for safe keeping. Opposite the galley, a large dinette easily accommodates four adults for dinner and additional bar-stool seating is available at the island galley counter.

With a layout that puts the companionway to port, the starboard master stateroom “is nearly the full beam of the boat, which means you have the space for convenient storage areas such as his-and-her hanging lockers and credenzas,” says David. “This is a convenience that’s a difference-maker, one that owners love.” The master includes a queen-size walkaround bed a maple-lined hanging closet with walnut doors, 32-inch HD TV and ensuite head with separate shower.

The forward stateroom has a walkaround queen size bed that lifts to reveal a cavernous stowage compartment below. The starboard and crew staterooms feature upper and lower berths and each is served with a private head and stall shower. The crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.

COCKPIT

Observation mezzanine with port aft facing lounge seating with Sunbrella-covered cushions, hinged seats, tackle cabinet with pullout drawers and bait freezer. Standard amenities in the cockpit also include a one-piece anodized aluminum ladder to the bridge, rounded coamings, recessed stainless-steel hardware, a stereo and speakers, a large lazarette hatch, fresh and saltwater washdown systems, a refrigerated chill box in the salon entrance step so you can stay close to the action throughout the day, a walk-through transom door with lift gate, a molded nonslip fiberglass sole with aluminum plate reinforcement for fighting chair placement, flush rod holders, tackle and gaff stowage, in-deck fishwell with a macerator pump discharge and stowage compartments for gear and an available circulating livewell. For dockside versatility, port and starboard Glendinning Cablemaster shore power cords are provided.

FLYBRIDGE

The flying bridge sports a center console helm providing superb visibility to all quarters. Electronic trolling valves allow maximum control on the trolling grounds. Fishing rods stow neatly under port and starboard bench seats, while electronics nest safely beneath a clear acrylic panel on centerline, which keeps them dry in any weather yet always within easy view. Forward of the helm is an additional freezer and bench seat.

While this proven arrangement is a favorite with tournament fishermen, a climate controlled enclosed bridge with a spiral staircase from the salon also is available, a popular plan with cruising yachtsmen. In addition to providing comfort and convenience, the enclosed bridge serves a second salon and private retreat. The forward control station has all the necessary control switches, lighted instrument and engines controls along with VIPER (Viking Independent Programmable Electro-hydraulic Rudder) steering system. A second station is located on the flying bridge overhang for excellent visibility when docking or fishing.

MECHANICALS/ENGINEROOM

The stand-up engineroom features Viking’s leading edge powder-coated web-frame structural-steel engine beds, which are mounted on dedicated transversals for vibration-free, engine and drive train alignment. Standard fuel capacity is 2,060 gallons in Viking-made fiberglass fuel tanks, which are nestled in the hull and fiberglassed into place. The tanks mirror the hull bottom to maximize draw and range and in so doing also contribute to hull strength. If desired, fuel capacity can be increased to 2,423 gallons.

As with all Viking yachts, custom electronic packages and tuna towers can be ordered and professionally installed by our sister companies Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers respectively for turn-key delivery and utmost satisfaction and performance.

NORDHAVN 68

Nordhavn 68.

The Nordhavn 68 picks up where her iconic smaller sister, the Nordhavn 62, left off: a salty, seaworthy, aft-pilothouse yacht capable of offering extreme comfort, luxury and of course, capability. But the N68 incorporates a modern feel and better space planning, and perfectly fills the size gap that exists between the aft pilothouse N63 and the larger Nordhavn 76 in the current Nordhavn line-up.

“There are those who have great affection for the aft pilothouse boat and the 68 fits perfect among the 62, 63 and 76,” says PAE President Dan Streech.

The distinct styling of the 62 has been a Nordhavn hallmark for nearly twenty years, and the 68 captures the essence of this vessel yet it incorporates the latest thinking in design, systems and technology and packages it all into a beamier, heartier hull. The interior is stunning with modern styling and beautiful teak joiner work. And despite the size advantage, this vessel is just as easily managed by a cruising couple without need for captain and crew.

Stepping onto the boat, the massive size of the 21-foot wide expanse can be immediately felt. The 68 carries its beam further aft and has a higher freeboard forward, thus providing more room on the inside. Offered in both an asymmetrical and dual walk-around layout, the huge saloon is an ideal gathering area for when the yacht plays host to larger groups.

Meanwhile, cooking for the masses is a snap in the large gourmet galley with such features as granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

Because the 68 is an aft pilothouse model, the foredeck is open so there are deck hatches for lots of light and ventilation. This is especially noticeable in the full-beam Master Suite and its luxurious head and shower forward. There are full size port lights positioned on either side which show off breathtaking views. Located just two steps down and forward from the saloon/ galley area, the bright and airy cabin offers its owners a pleasant haven for an afternoon nap or good night’s sleep.

Guests are treated to two luxurious staterooms located down a staircase just off the galley/ saloon. Two heads – one ensuite – are swathed in granite and the finest fixtures. Situated just across the hall from the staterooms is the roomy, state-of-the-art engine room with its 6’2” ceiling. Purring along is the a state of the art 425 hp single John Deere 6135AFM75 marine engine that drives forward the 205,000 lb. boat at a cruising speed of 9.5 kts.

Like the larger luxurious vessels in the Nordhavn fleet – the 72, 75EYF, 76, 78 and 86 – the Nordhavn 68 is filled with the best equipment as standard including hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, ABT stabilizers, air conditioning, and Stidd helm chairs. “This boat is so featurepacked there is not a regular option sheet for it,” says Streech.

Aft Pilothouse Non-Flybridge Despite the N68’s commercial aft pilothouse style, true trawler aficionados felt the design’s flybridge detracted from the salty look. A Nordhavn 63 owner wanting to replicate his own non-flybridge model in a larger boat, requested an aft pilothouse N68 with the flybridge removed. “The NFB model is a simple variant of the Aft Pilothouse Nordhavn 68 but with wonderful, dramatic results,” notes Streech.

A few basic tweaks are made to the area over the pilothouse including shortening of the stack. The upshot is less windage, better stability, less weight aloft and a gorgeous battleship profile that will please the saltiest of yachties and prove ideal for anyone cruising the high latitudes.

Forward Pilothouse Built on the same extended hull as the Aft pilothouse Nordhavn 68, the forward pilothouse version retains the same interior layout as the Nordhavn 64, but adds four feet (1.2 meters) of length to the aft cockpit, increasing the outdoor living (and playing) space to 191 square feet (17.7 square meters). An additional benefit—one that’s always appreciated— is a larger lazarette. Compared to the Nordhavn 64, the N68 forward pilothouse enjoys the advantage of a slight increase in cruising efficiency because of its longer waterline. When compared with its aft pilothouse sibling, the forward pilothouse version has a slightly larger fuel capacity at 3,230 US gallons (12,226 L) versus 3,136 US gallons (11,871 L) for the APH version.

Another central difference in the Forward versus Aft pilothouse layout is the placement of the owner’s cabin. In the FPH arrangement, the VIP stateroom is located closer to the middle of the boat – where motion is less noticeable – and therefore is more comfortable at sea and at anchor. Also, since the cabin is located in a wider part of the boat, it’s a roomier space.

Aquitalia 68 Feet

The 68-foot extra attention to the improvement of the interior space and the expansion of the outdoor entertainment area makes the yacht's interior more closely related to the ocean, which represents the natural innovation of Yihong Yacht and the infinite pursuit of aesthetics.

Aquitalia 68 Feet

About Aquitalia

AQUITALIA is a high-end line product in Yihong Group. It was originally an Italian designer brand and was acquired by Yihong Group in 2010. The AQUITALIA logo incorporates elements such as a crown, a harp, an angel's pen, and the tip of the pen in the shape of a boat's bow inserted into the ripples in the water. AQUITALIA condenses the trend-leading design ideas and leading engineering technology, directly and completely interprets the concept of art, technology and rationality that the AQUITALIA brand wants to present, and is a model of the perfect combination of art and engineering.

With dynamic design, extraordinary craftsmanship, excellent quality and high-end configuration, the connection between the spacious space on board and the surrounding ocean, AQUITALIA responds to all expectations of shipowners for ocean life, and provides shipowners with the most peace of mind and comfort. At the same time, the meaning given to AQUITALIA has gone far beyond the yacht itself. It represents a high-end lifestyle and transcends the boundaries of time and space. In the splendid yacht world, it plays a vast, profound and agile song.
