Our in-house designed and built Catamarans come in a range of sizes from 5.5m to 8.5m. All our vessels consist of 6mm bottom and 4mm sides with 3mm topsides. All vessels come with a custom alloy drive on/off trailer and Yamaha outboards.

Our Mono Hulls come in a range of sizes from 4.8m to 6m. These vessels can be supplied in a number of configurations from tiller steer, side console, rear or centre console. All vessels are constructed from 4mm bottom and 3mm sides with 5mm and 4mm options.

We specialise in the construction of commercial plate alloy vessels, catamarans, tri hulls, mono hulls, punts, landing craft and barges with sizes ranging from 5m to 20m – your design or ours.

Our premises is situated on the banks of Anderson Inlet which has a notorious entrance bar crossing to the open waters of Bass Strait – the ideal testing ground for the vessels we manufacture.

Our signature vessel is the Z bow or wave piercing catamaran. We are also developing a stepped hull Z bow monohull design.

We believe this design provides superior performance to the conventional catamaran design. The “Wave Piercing Bows” are an integral part of the vessel’s structure which have a sharp entry and full topsides above the chine, which, in conjunction with the extra waterline length, contributes to the awesome performance in adverse conditions.

Alumarine supply and recommend Suzuki outboard motors and are authorised dealers for Mac Boats and Polycraft boats .

These are rotomoulded hull’s ranging in size from 2.3m to 7m available with commercial survey certificates issued AMSA.

Principle designer Stephen Pollard has over 35 yrs of experience in aluminium powerboat design.

We at Specmar Australia, supply professional boat builders with plate alloy cutting files for plasma cuting thier vessels from thier nearest Blue Scope Aluminium Supplier (Licence agreement required). For DIY boat builders, we arrange a complete pre cut aluminium kit delivered to your door interstate or overseas. All packages come with assembly instructions and ABP information as required. The ABP guidlines include HP, Capacity of People, Floatation and MAx Load.

All designs from 4.2m to 9.5m in Monohull feature Delta Pad Bottoms for improved economy and lower planing speeds. Configurations include cuddy cabs, centre cabs, walk around, runabouts, centre consoles, bow riders, bass and open boats. Catamaran work boats 6.7m and 11m uses include pontoon and passenger vessels.

Advantages of Aluminium Construction

Aluminium is strong yet light, being around 30% lighter than steel, and is very robust and durable. It is also easy to repair and maintain.

Aluminium hulls and superstructures have exceptional strength and resistance to wear and can take a good deal of pounding. This makes them an ideal choice for the rigors and severe stresses of blue-water cruising.

Aluminium is easy to work using power tools, as well as being easily shaped and dressed. It is also easy and quick to weld and form, which will save time and money during the build process. Because of this ease of welding and forming an aluminium boat can have more detailing and therefore can offer the chance to add “character”.

Aluminium construction offers a boat builder great flexibility in the construction process because the alloy is easy to work and shape. Modifications can be welded securely in place which means an aluminium boat is more easily adapted to the specific needs of an owner, especially when modifying an existing boat’s layout or superstructure. Damaged parts can easily be removed and replaced and superficial damage or denting can be beaten out, again making them easier to repair.

Aluminium delivers a significant performance benefit, as well as additional cost savings because a smaller, less powerful engine can be used to achieve the required performance. Aluminium hulls offer less resistance when travelling through water, saving both the power requirement and using less fuel, making them more economical to run. A distinct safety advantage is that aluminium does not readily burn and therefore will not act as fuel for a fire.

Aluminium also offers excellent corrosion resistance, giving an aluminium boat a much longer service life. Little maintenance is required and aluminium has a high resistance to corrosion and structural fatigue because of its good tensile properties.

Aluminium hulls only require painting below the waterline or where there is continual contact with sea water. Bare aluminium in air will form an oxide coating that creates a protective barrier and will stop the metal from corroding, this generates a large cost-saving.

Aluminium boats are renowned for keeping their sell-on value. Their excellent corrosion resistance means they do not “wear out” or suffer deterioration. Because of the minimal maintenance required, aluminium boats cause very little secondary pollution and the metal is also fully recyclable when a boat finally reaches the end of its serviceable life.

In conjunction with Sea Speed Designs, experience has been gained over 35 years in the boat building industry, specializing in everything from Mega Yachts to Ferries. SeaCat Ships offer custom designed and built Aluminium Catamarans made specifically to suit the needs of the keen owner/operator.

These high speed, long-range aluminium cats not only look great, but also perform to a very high standard. Our Cats are assembled in Thailand by our Australian/Thai team, with a lot of the components coming from Australia and many of the sub-contractors also being of Australian decent. For Example: “Aqua Quest” is a state-of-the-art dive boat built for daily rough water operations from Cairns, Australia out to the Great Barrier Reef. After the sea trials and commissioning in the Gulf of Thailand, she sailed on her own hull to Cairns via Bali.

We have access to over 100 proven hulls from 6 to 42 Metres, all built to the highest international standards. The aluminium hull and deckhouse design is very strong and is in compliance with the requirements of Lloyds Register SSC rules for a passenger vessel operating offshore. The majority of the aluminium structure was supplied in KIT format to allow the parts to be CNC router cut for ease in construction.

SeaCat Ships is fundamentally a family owned and run company, with management carried out by Paul, Vicki, and Mari-on Birgan.

Paul (Managing Director) who has just been awarded WBW’s “Designer of the Year Asia” Award for 2017, has 30 years experience in the design and construction of aluminium vessels. Paul handles all new enquires, as well as the ordering process from commencement to completion.

Vicki (General Manager) manages the Shipyard and oversees the day to day running of the office and it’s staff.

Mari-on (Marketing Manager) manages the marketing side of the business, including the SeaCat Newsletter, Website and Social Media Channels.

Construction in our Thailand Shipyard, happens under the watchful eye of Murray Birgan (Project Manager). Murray works with a team of expats to carry out supervision, training and quality control.

With decades of boat-building experience between them, the team ensures a high quality of new-builds. They are now passing on their expertise to their Thai employees, many of which already have extensive experience in aluminium fabrication and welding and are quick to pick-up the specialised skills required at SeaCat Ships.

SeaCat currently has 5 expatriates and 50 Thai employees, as well as a further 20-30 part time Thai sub-contractors. We are also supported by Australian suppliers and sub-contractors.
