$3.2 million yacht sinks in Lake Tahoe marina

Witnesses at the Tahoe Keys Marina say they heard screeching, the sound of tearing metal, and a passenger yell “oh, no!” late Sunday night.

By about 3 a.m. Monday, a three-story, $3.2 million yacht so big that it has its own helicopter pad was sunk, one end of it touching the South Lake Tahoe marina bottom at a Titanic-esque tilt.

It’s still not clear what sent the Sierra Rose to the lake bed, where it remained partially submerged Tuesday and waiting for a private contractor to remove it sometime within the next few days.

Witness Heather Contreras, who was visiting the marina from Turlock, Calif., told the Tahoe Daily Tribune that more than a dozen people were on the vessel at the time of the screeching noise. The luxury liner didn’t immediately sink, and some people stayed on it for more than an hour after the apparent mishap, she said.

Nobody was injured, marina general manager Robert Spinnato said.

On Monday, a big-screen TV, leather couches and floating slices of bread were visible inside the partially submerged watercraft, which was billed as the largest noncommercial boat on Lake Tahoe as recently as 2006.

Agents listed on the boat’s tourist rental website declined to comment to the Associated Press about the situation.

A website detailing the three-room, three-bathroom Sierra Rose for potential renters says it’s inspired by the streamlined luxury vessels of the 1930s, but with state-of-the-art amenities. Features include granite counters, remote-controlled fireplaces, mahogany floors, a spa and custom crystal and china.

The boat rented for $2,000 a night, according to a brochure from 2008-09, or $8,000 for four hours.

El Dorado County Environmental Health Manager Barbara Houghton said the sewage and fuel tanks were sealed and hadn’t leaked into the lake, but she said inspectors from the county would be on hand to monitor efforts to pull it out of the marina. Houghton said that could happen as early as Tuesday.

While the sunken vessel sat unceremoniously in the water, at least a few homeowners in the area were saying good riddance.

Several complained to the Reno Gazette-Journal that they thought the yacht was too big, and blocked views of the alpine lake.

“It’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen,” Tahoe Keys Property Association front desk clerk Ron Parker said, according to the newspaper. “My idea is it was so ugly someone had to sink it.”

In an alternate universe, Trump is still posted up in a gilded tower creating reality television, my neighbor isn’t an 80-year old crank who complains about music after 8pm and this Memorial Day weekend would be perfect for rosé on a yacht’s sunny rooftop.

But hey, that’s just not the universe we live in.

We do, however, live in a world where this tragically ideal boat is sitting pretty up on Pier 81, just waiting for the day you choose to visit, oh-so-soon.

So file away a place called Hudson’s: a three-story yacht for Mediterranean, dancing, and rooftop hangs, now open.

When the time is right, you’ll find yourself with a date in the bright, colorful, sort of ’70s throwback dining room, surrounded by plates of black truffle burrata , wild mushroom parpardalle and olive gremolata-topped branzino. Or maybe you’ll find yourself early evening on the expansive rooftop sipping something full of rum, pear and mint. Could also be a Sunday afternoon doing bottomless mimosa brunch with a group of people you like doing such things with. It all depends on when said time is right.

A three-level waterfront mansion located between Fort Lauderdale’s lively downtown and one of its most popular beaches has come back on the market.

The home,previously listed in 2017, has direct intracoastal access along a no-wake zone, which listing agent Niki Higgins of Douglas Elliman said is a "very desirable" feature.

The owners have made some renovations, including adding a bespoke $1 million Downsview kitchen about three years ago.

"The kitchen is the most amazing kitchen I’ve seen in a house in Florida," Ms. Higgins said.

They also redid the master suite—located on the home’s third level—remodeling the bathroom, which features a frameless glass-enclosed shower, a dressing area and a sitting area, Ms. Higgins said.

A heart-shaped staircase leads from the gated motor court to the home’s grand salon. The main level also houses the dining room, the kitchen and breakfast area, a family room, and the library, which was completely renovated post-Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The bottom floor has a movie theater, a gym, an office, guest suites and an additional kitchen. In addition to the master suite, the third floor also has two guest bedrooms and a guest sitting area.

"The house has a lot of different wings to it," Ms. Higgins said. "So if someone has a large family or a staff, people are not on top of each other."

The 22,584-square-foot house has 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, including a two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest house that’s attached to the main house by a covered walkway.

Located along Florida’s intracoastal, the property has approximately 160 feet of water frontage and a floating dock that moves with the tide and can accomodate a yacht up to 138 feet long.

The three-level waterfront house features a roof deck above the master suite, creating additional space for outdoor entertainment and taking in the panoramic view of the waterway. A commercial-sized elevator provides access to all three stories.

"If you’re entertaining, you can take more than two people up at a time," Ms. Higgins said.

Additionally, the home has a movie theater, gym, pool and hot tub.

Fort Lauderdale’s prestigious Idlewyld neighborhood is located off the popular Las Olas Boulevard, which is home to a bustling restaurant and art scene.

Q – How do I start Superyachts and how long do I have to complete it?

A – Before you begin the newest yacht quest, reach level 42, unlock the Mysterious Island [ The Sims Freeplay- The Mysterious Island Quest – The Girl Who Games ], and finish building our first yacht – the ‘Bella’. This will unlock the pier that the 'Fantasea’ is situated at. From there, find the newly marked yacht icon to start building!

Completing Superyachts without incurring any penalties, and winning the final limited time prize,  takes 30 days. You can actually take as long as you want to complete the event, however there are Major Stage Deadlines. If you do not reach a deadline before the timer expires, there is a cost to continue. However, the next deadline timer doesn’t start until you pay the cost, so it’s easy to catch up, try again, and win the 3-story luxury boat!

If you run out of time but still complete the event, you’ll receive the yacht prize - however just as a bare ship! It will be empty and ready to style however you want for your Sims to live in their new floating palace.

A - To progress, your Sims need to collect Resources. Resources are made up of Shards, which up to three Sims can collect each day. The materials are wood, fiberglass and metal, and can be found at various unlocked Community Lots, including the Community Centre, Nightclub and the Park.

As your Sims collects more Resources, they get closer and closer to finishing their development and earning their 3-story yacht!

Be careful though, incomplete Resources are lost at the end of the day! The available Resource changes each day, so collect as many Shards as you can to complete Resources before the day is over.

Q - I have collected all of today's available Shards, but I seem to be blocked and can’t progress to the next day’s Resource.

A – That's correct! There are milestone prizes along the way, but you have to wait until the next day to continue your progress with the Superyachts event unless you purchase a the resource permit early.

Q - Oh no! I’m falling behind - what can I do?

A - There's a few options - Be sure to be diligent with checking in on your Sims and collecting shards as soon as they're discovered! Otherwise, you can use Social Points to collect the remaining resources for any given stage.

  Q - Who is Satsuki the Shipwright and what benefit is there to hiring her? 

A - Satsuki is an non playable character that helps you in your hunt for Resources by uncovering additional Shards every day! With her help, it's easier to build your boat and hit those milestone goals along the way. Once she is unlocked, Satsuki will assist you for up to 45 days, or until you complete the Superyachts event.

Q – Are there any milestone rewards in between the major milestone unlocks?

A - Yes! Along the event timeline you’ll notice a range of different prizes available as you progress. This includes exclusive build mode decor to style your yacht (or anywhere else!), Simoleons and LP. 

Q – What are the details about the Grand Prize?

A - By reaching the end of the event, you get given Simoleons and an empty ‘Fantasea’ superyacht!

Q – What are the details about the Limited Time Prize? 

A - If you complete the event within the time limit, you can earn the ‘Fantasea’ superyacht, completely furnished with three levels of open plan luxury living including a stylish bar, beautifully appointed cabins, an elegant dining space, and a helipad on the top deck. Your Sims can even swim in the ocean next to the boat. You also get modern underlit seating and a matching bar to place wherever you want. 

Q - If I run out of time to unlock the Limited Time Prize, what happens?

A - Never fear, Simmers! You can still receive the empty luxury boat to build on - it just comes unfurnished ready for your next dream build.

They say it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and that’s certainly true of Phathom Studio ’s latest superyacht concept .

The fledgling Dutch design firm, which was recently established by marine-world heavyweights Jacob van de Haar, Fabian Henke, Raquel H. Grijota and Sean Bekeschus, has just unveiled a new 197-footer that features a glitzy glass-clad interior akin to that of a New York penthouse.

The striking vessel follows in the footsteps of the studio’s first concept Phathom-1, which the company revealed back in 2019. Like its 262-foot predecessor, the newcomer eschews the traditional layout of a superyacht in favor of elegant open-plan spaces and loft-like proportions. It was designed for a client who wanted to squeeze all the luxe amenities of Phathom-1 into a smaller, more nimble yacht.

At the heart of the new superyacht is a three-level indoor-outdoor atrium that spans from the main deck aft up to the sundeck. Its structural glass exterior, which is replete with geometric shapes and lines, not only makes a striking visual statement, but also allows plenty of natural light to stream in.

In a similar fashion, the split-level owner’s suite comprises large glass windows and a glass balcony that separates the bedroom from the dedicated lounge and study below.

Another highlight is the conservatory on the sundeck. Once again wrapped in glass, it comes fitted with an alfresco dining area, gym and spa that all offer panoramic views, of course. The glass floor, meanwhile, acts as a skylight for the central atrium below.

Elsewhere, the bow lounge, which is equipped with glass panels to protect seafarers from the elements, sports curved sofas ripe for taking in sunsets and a waterfall feature for added pizzaz. At the opposite end, the aft deck is crowned by a huge infinity pool with accompanying sun lounges. It’s also fitted with fold-out bulwarks for added space.

The vessel can store two tenders and features a large crane under the deck on the starboard side to help with launching.

Phathom didn’t share any details regarding propulsion, but, hey, who needs speed when you have style.

Cape Coral making major changes to the Yacht Club Community Park

Cape Coral is moving ahead with massive design changes that will transform The Yacht Club Community Park into a more extravagant waterfront gem for the city.

It will include a new resort-style pool, restaurant, and community center in the master plan.

"I believe the draw will be a lot bigger than the Yacht Club used to be," Councilmember Dan Sheppard said.

The Cape Coral Yacht Club, which includes the yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a riverside beach, has served as a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s.

At a Wednesday city meeting, the council discussed the Yacht Club master plan, picking up from a previous discussion at a January winter retreat .

There the council gave direction to adjust the original renovation plans, which could include a two-story ballroom, removing the tennis courts, and rearranging the area to accommodate a parking garage and a new restaurant.

Now the council has decided on a framework from the first concept that was presented by Kimley-Horn, a consulting firm that focuses on public and private developments.

Previous discussions said the project could cost up to $100 million.

The newly updated plans include:

• A curved driveway into the park that wraps around the proposed parking garage and stormwater pond toward the east and south portions of the park
• A three-story parking garage with 500 spaces
• A new restaurant near the beach and entryway, supplementing the current waterside restaurant, The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Restaurant.
• New restrooms
• A resort-style pool
• A new harbormaster building near boat trailer parking
• A second pier with shade north of the park
• A new Yacht Club Community Center
• A stormwater pond
• A new fountain

City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn said the changes will be utilized for the site plan.

The city had planned in 2022 to close the park for two years for renovations that included replacing the seawalls and marina wet slips, replacing the harbormaster building and boat ramp, and building a three-story parking garage and beach restrooms.

The beach would also be expanded, and utilities relocated.

Then Hurricane Ian struck on Sept. 28, 2022, delaying plans, and shuttering the beach for more than a year.

During its January winter retreat, council members decided to take a "clean slate" approach to renovate the facilities, which included demolition of all the facilities.

The facilities included the main ballroom building, the Tony Rotino Center, tennis courts, pool, and harbormaster.

Many residents opposed the plan but the city intends to move forward  with a complete demolition by early 2024.

Councilmembers raise concerns

James Pankonin, a landscape architect with Kimley-Horn, gave a presentation. He highlighted two concepts.

The second concept presented was similar to the first, but the road would be realigned and cut around the stormwater pond and parking garage, the proposed restaurant faced the main road, had a smaller pool design, and a longer pier.

Many of the elements were incorporated into the concept, minus the smaller pool.

Councilmember Tom Hayden, who was recently against the demolition of the main ballroom building, liked the plans.

"I realized after the original plans of wanting to renovate the old one weren't going to work out, I moved on. And I like the fact that we are bringing something to the community that will attract people that are interested in different things with the beach, resort pool, event space, and boating," Hayden said.

He wants to see a room dedicated to the old Yacht Club building in the new community center.

The council came to a consensus on many aspects of what the park would look like but many did have concerns with amenities such as parking, the tennis courts, and the pool.

Sheppard liked the plans but feared parking would become an issue.

"My only fear is we have nothing like this in the city and when this is done, I believe the draw will be a lot bigger than the Yacht Club used to be, so my concerns are parking," Sheppard said.

Hayden and Mayor John Gunter shared the concern.

The city plans to conduct a parking study to account for the potential issue.

Another Councilmember, Bill Steinke, wanted to see the tennis courts preserved.

"I play tennis at the Yacht Club very regularly, and we have a great number of residents that bought their homes in that area for proximity to tennis," Steinke said.

He brought up the possibility of using the parking garage's roof as an area for the tennis courts and, possibly, pickleball courts.

Gunter said the cost would be too high.

"I'd rather spend that money on parking or putting tennis courts somewhere," Gunter said.

Steinke relented if tennis courts could be made available in another part of the city, preferably in the south.

Steinke also brought the resort-style pool and said they should take into account how residents use it.

"The concern there is that we have many current residents that use the park and the swimming pool for exercise and lane swimming," Steinke said.

Councilmembers Patty Cummings and Jessica Cosden shared the sentiment and wanted to see another pool for the public.

Gunter ended the discussion by saying he wanted to see a timeline for the project.

Ilczyszyn said more activity will take place at the park soon, including the beach reopening and the demolition of the buildings. He's hopeful that permits will get through in due time.

What's next for Yacht Club Park?

The council will meet on the topic again, after the city's winter hiatus in 2024.

Kimley-Horn will update the designs with the council's feedback and have a public meeting where residents will get to look at the new concept before moving forward with a permanent design.

Sheriff identifies young siblings killed by driver who crashed into party

Officials in southeastern Michigan have identified the 8-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother who were killed Saturday when a suspected drunk driver plowed through a child’s birthday party at a creekside boat club.

Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough in a statement Monday identified the children as Alanah Phillips, age 8, and Zayn Phillips, age 4. Diane Harrington, the victims’ aunt, said in a verified fundraiser for family funeral costs that the children’s mother and older brother remained hospitalized. Harrington declined to comment when reached by phone Sunday.

Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey A. Yorkey is expected to announced a final charging decision Tuesday against the 66-year-old driver. The woman, who has not been identified but was cooperating with police, was arrested at the scene Saturday after she slammed her SUV into the side of the Swan Boat Club about 3 p.m. and continued about 25 feet into the building before coming to a stop. The woman was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and causing death.

Among the nine people hospitalized, an 11-year-old boy and a 31-year-old woman remained in critical condition Monday, three teenagers were listed in serious condition, and five other people were treated for minor injuries, Goodnough’s office said.

“The scene was described by the first responders as ‘extremely chaotic,’ with [a] high level of emotions of those directly involved and those who witnessed the horrific incident,” Goodnough said during a Saturday news conference.

Gasps rippled through the room when Goodnough, in a trembling voice, said the two young party attendees pronounced dead at the scene were siblings.

Six adults and three children were rushed to the hospital by ambulance and helicopter with serious injuries after the crash at the boat club in Berlin Township, roughly 30 miles south of Detroit.

Video of the crash captured by doorbell camera shows a black SUV speeding through the boat club’s parking lot before crashing out of the frame and sending plumes of smoke and dust into the air.

Authorities said they were investigating a local tavern several miles away, where the suspect was believed to have been served before the fatal crash.

“We went in, we shut the business down, and we executed a search warrant into the business conducted that day,” Goodnough said.

The Swan Boat Club said in a Facebook post that it would remain closed Sunday and asked the community for prayers and support for the victims’ families.

Aunt of siblings killed at party: 'We were supposed to be planning a birthday ... not a funeral'

Raquel Smouthers said her eight-year-old niece, Lana, had “flawless” curly hair and her four-year-old nephew, Zayn, loved cracking jokes and held Eminem as his idol.

The two siblings were with their mother and older brother at a 3-year-old's birthday party Saturday afternoon when the unimaginable happened: a vehicle crashed through the boat club where the party was being held and killed them both. Marshella Chidester, 66, a former leader at the Swan Boat Club where the party occurred, has been charged with second-degree murder and other offenses in connection with the crash.

"We were supposed to be planning a birthday party for Zayn, not a funeral," said a distraught Smouthers, speaking at the Tuesday arraignment for Chidester in Monroe's 1st District Court before bond was set.

Their mother, Mariah Dodds, was also critically injured in the crash Saturday afternoon in Berlin Township, one of 13 hurt, as was her oldest son.

Smouthers said she was the one who had to tell her sister after the crash that two of her three children had died.

“They walked into that birthday party having a fun time. They were sitting at that table, eating," she said. "And this woman crashed her car through this building, destroying all of our lives."

Jon Marko, an attorney for Dodds, who has already filed a civil lawsuit against Chidester on Dodds' behalf, said her oldest son, J.P., remains in critical care after undergoing seven hours of "excruciating" surgery following the crash.

"Both of his legs were broken, ribs were broken and he suffered a fractured skull. His father remains by his side and is absolutely devastated by the loss," Marko said in a Tuesday press release.

Dodds, a Flat Rock resident, suffered a collapsed lung, six broken ribs, severe cuts, bruising and a knocked-out tooth, Mark said. In court, Smouthers said Dodds had been taken off a ventilator.

Monroe County Undersheriff Joe Hammond said Tuesday afternoon that the 10 people confirmed injured on Monday, in addition to the two children killed, is still the most current information the agency has about the victims.

He clarified that a 66-year-old woman listed as injured by the sheriff's department is not Chidester, the driver now facing criminal charges for the crash.

Matella Rodriguez, owner of Adelita’s Mexican Cocina in Woodhaven, said Dodds had started working at the restaurant about three weeks ago. The restaurant is now donating 30% of its proceeds Tuesday and Thursday to her family.

“It’s terrible what happened, and we wanted to help,” Rodriguez said.

All three of Dodds' kids were students in Flat Rock Community Schools. Zayn was at the Early Childhood Center, while Lana was a second-grade student at Bobcean Elementary. Dodd's oldest, who is still recovering, attends Simpson Middle School.

Superintendent Andrew Brodie called the tragedy "senseless" in a letter to families Sunday and said extra counselors would be in place.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families impacted by this tragic and senseless incident," said Brodie in an email Tuesday. "We cannot begin to fathom the pain and grief that they are experiencing, and we stand united in offering our support and condolences during this unimaginably difficult time."

Brodie said counselors will be available to provide support and assistance to students and families for as long as they are needed "surrounding this unspeakable tragedy."

Dan Clay of Northwood, Ohio, was the lone person on Tuesday at the makeshift memorial that has popped up outside the Swan Boat Club on Brancheau Street.

He brought flowers to the memorial, as Clay said he often does when he is near tragic events where children die. There were candles, balloons and stuffed animals.

"It's just so tragic, man, just so, so tragic," Clay said. "That's what gets me is the kids."

Three men arrested after five people die in Channel boat crossing

Suspects being questioned by National Crime Agency in Kent on suspicion of immigration offences

Three men have been arrested in connection with a Channel boat crossing that led to the deaths of five people, including a young girl.

The three have been arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration and entering the UK illegally. The suspects – two Sudanese men aged 22 and 19 and a 22-year-old from South Sudan – are being questioned by the National Crime Agency (NCA) in Kent, the agency said.

The arrests came as Guirec Le Bras, a public prosecutor in Boulogne-sur-Mer, confirmed that the child was six and a half, and raised the question of whether she had been trampled to death.

He said: “It appears from the first acts of investigation, and in particular from hearings of the people rescued, that the boat involved must have transported 40-50 migrants who had paid for their passage.

“At the time of departure, between 40 and 50 migrants reportedly came out of the dunes and forced themselves on to the boat, crushing many people already onboard. At the same time, some continued to push the boat out to sea, which resulted in more than 100 migrants on the boat, far from the shores.

“The testimonies of the people who were brought back to the dock [on Tuesday] do not suggest drowning or the fact that the boat capsized at any time”.

The 55 people onboard the small boat who survived the journey have been interviewed and are expected to be spoken to further in the coming days.

Craig Turner, the deputy director of investigations for the National Crime Agency, said: “This tragic incident once again demonstrates the threat to life posed by these crossings and brings into focus why it is so important to target the criminal gangs involved in organising them.

“We will do all we can with partners in the UK and France to secure evidence, identify those responsible for this event and bring them to justice.”

More than 110 people were said to have been on the vessel when it left at 5am near the Plage des Allemands. The deaths happened near the town of Wimereux, south of Calais.

The Pas-de-Calais prefect, Jacques Billant, said that despite the deaths, 57 people had continued their journey to Britain once the boat’s motor had been restarted.

Billant told the Guardian on Tuesday that a rescue operation was dispatched quickly to the boat, and rescuers saw six people “in great difficulty” or inanimate on the boat.

They were immediately rescued and taken to the shore for treatment by emergency services but “despite attempts to reanimate them, five of them died”, he said.

A further 47 people were rescued from the vessel and helped by police, emergency services and doctors in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Four were admitted to hospital for treatment.

Billant said that “despite this complex and delicate situation”, 57 people on the dinghy did not want to leave the boat. They managed to get the motor running and continued to Britain, under the surveillance of French authorities.

Hours earlier, Rishi Sunak’s government passed legislation to allow it to deport to Rwanda asylum seekers who arrive in the UK on small boats.

The prime minister said the “tragic” reports of deaths in the Channel showed why the Rwanda plan was needed.

The Refugee Council in the UK described the deaths as “devastating” and “all the more tragic” coming so soon after the Rwanda bill was passed.

More than 6,000 people have crossed the Channel this year, an increase of about a quarter on the same period last year.

French police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the deaths alongside Kent police, Immigration Enforcement and Border Force and the NCA.

Child, woman in critical condition in aftermath of Monroe County boat club crash

Monroe County Sheriff officials said Monday afternoon that two victims of the Swan Boat Club tragedy are in critical condition, including an 11-year-old boy and a 31-year-old woman, according to a news release.

Another three victims are in serious condition: a 14-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl, and an 18-year-old woman.

Officials also confirmed the names of the young siblings who were pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday, Alanah Phillips, 9, and Zayn Phillips, who was either 4 or 5, police have said.

The mother of the two dead siblings and their older brother were hospitalized, police said. According to an update on the family's GoFundMe page, Jayden went through surgery but is awake. His mother, Mariah, is also awake, the GoFundMe stated.

A total of nine people were transported to area hospitals via ambulance or by air ambulance after the crash Saturday, the release stated. That included four other women who had minor injuries. A 42-year-old man sought treatment for minor injuries.

A 66-year-old suspect, who officials have not named as of Monday afternoon, is alleged to have slammed an SUV into the north wall of the Newport boat club, moving fast enough to go about 25 feet inside the building hosting a birthday party. She was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated causing death, a 15-year felony.

"The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this incident to ensure we have identified all of those who were injured or witnessed this incident," the release said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.

Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffery Yorkey said in a Monday afternoon news release that he expects to make a charging decision Tuesday , but an official time and date had not yet been set.

Newport is located off Interstate 75 in Berlin Township, an area of about 10,000 residents.

Dave Reaume, Berlin Township’s supervisor, said the township had 17 volunteer firefighters respond to the crash, many who were parents themselves and were distraught.

“You never think something like this is going to happen in our quiet community,” Reaume said. “We just feel devastated for the family.”

At least 3 injured in stabbing at Brooklyn Army Terminal, officials say

NEW YORK -- A stabbing at Brooklyn Army Terminal in New York City left at least three people injured Saturday, authorities said.

Police say when officers arrived at Pier 4 around 5 p.m., they found a 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man who had each been stabbed in a torso, as well as a 28-year-old man who had been hit in the head with a glass bottle.

All three victims were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The FDNY says two other individuals refused medical attention at the scene.

It isn't clear what started the initial fight, but it happened after a party boat cruise on the Cornucopia Majesty yacht docked at the pier. Some passengers were trapped onboard for over an hour as police investigated.

No word of any arrests at this time.

Partygoers describe frightening experience after stabbing at Brooklyn Army Terminal Pier 4

"It happened outside the boat ... They were at the party, but it happened outside," one partygoer said.

"Everybody was fighting. It was crazy. I was on the boat for an hour after that. My friend lost her shoe," partygoer Jada Morris said.

"If it wasn't for one of her friends holding us up, we probably would've been on the floor. It was really traumatizing," partygoer Joselle Tash said.

"Nobody telling us where to go, what to do," one man named Rob said.

"People were getting trampled. There was no reason for it," a partygoer named Matt said.

Attendees are concerned what this could mean for the host.

"It's a good guy. He has contributed back to his community," one partygoer said.

"I feel bad for the host. He always has good parties and good everything and I hope this doesn't stick to his name," Morris said.

CBS New York reached out to Manhattan Yacht Charters for comment. So far, they have not responded.
