Mengi Yay Yachts has been shortlisted for the Motor Yacht Over 40 Metres Award in  The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2023 .

The Virtus series body #2 promises a unique journey pleasure with its BALMY, 47-meter-wide body, smooth glass surfaces and hydraulically expanding areas.

The exterior was designed by VYD Studio and the hull by Ginton Naval Architects. The duo worked to pen it with a modern flair. They focused on long and flowing lines throughout the yacht’s profile; and style around the sundeck that gives a clean and sporty look. B.A.L.M.Y. ‘s astonishingly smooth surfaces draw people in and hold their attention. Among the eye-catching design the elements such as flowing windows and the color contrast clearly shows the surfaces. B.A.L.M.Y. has a glimmer thanks to the wooden finishes that support this design. Particularly in the finer features of the ship’s underside, the designers’ signature is clearly visible. Virtus series features comfortability, brilliant design, and craftsmanship.

B.A.L.M.Y.’s interior is modern and light. The interiors were designed by Red Yacht Design, who used a delicate colour scheme to give it a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The studio had 498GT to work with during the process. The designers focused on creating a scheme that brings us closer to the surface of the water, particularly on the lower deck where they offer the guests an area to fully enjoy the wider sea.

B.A.L.M.Y. ‘s main deck is very open and roomy. The hall, which is set up as a lounge and welcome space, is a clear example of the designer’s hospitable intentions. A scheme deigned with the harmonious blending of various textures and tones meets where we cross from the main deck to the lounge. The hall retains the sensation of spaciousness provided by the fluid, continuous windows. This is a popular location for leisurely gatherings and delectable dining. This deck also hosts the cooking area, which is supplied with various modern equipment.

Mengi Yay proudly introduces the VIRTUS series to the modern world by fusing all its knowledge of 58 years with the craftsmanship of outstanding Turkish engineers. Mengi Yay has turned its prestigious experience and passed it down through three generations and its innovative and development-oriented perspective into a philosophy and tradition.

Mengi Yay Yatçılık, Virtus 47 serisini sahipleriyle buluşturmaya devam ediyor. Geçen Mayıs ayında suya indirilen ve sahibi Acun Ilıcalı’ya teslim edilen B.A.L.M.Y., diğer Mengi Yay yatları gibi Tuzla’da bulunan tersanede inşa edildi. Tersane, 2023 yılında beş tekneyi suya indirmeyi planlıyor; aralarında Virtus 47 serisinin dördüncü gövdesinin de bulunacağı açıklandı.

Yaklaşık 60 yıllık geçmişi olan köklü bir üretici Mengi Yay Yatçılık. İmza attığı özel yapım çelik-alüminyum yatların her biri yenilikçi bir anlayışla inşa ediliyor. Gövdeden iç tasarıma her ayrıntının lüks ve teknolojiyle güçlendirildiği süperyatlardan en yenisi olan B.A.L.M.Y., geçen yaz itibarıyla seyir hayatına başladı.  Acun Ilıcalı’nın talepleri doğrultusunda yaratılan B.A.L.M.Y., iddialı bir süperyat. Devamı Ocak 2023 sayımızda.

Exterior design is courtesy of Red Yacht Design, while the vessel's Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) is owed to Van Oossanen Naval Architects – allowing the yacht "to operate with enhanced efficiency across a diverse range of speeds".
