Jan Hendrik was born in a small village in the Southern parts of Africa. He worked as a cook at their family resort from the age of 15 when after he apprenticed in Sandton, Johannesburg. He started his training at the City & Guilds international culinary school where he found his specialty in the fine art of Patisserie. Apprenticing at 5 star hotels in and around Cape Town, South Africa he furthered his studies by doing a Degree in Applied design. Joining the international magazine ELLE as contributing food editor in 2006 the Horizons took Jan Hendrik to Paris, where he worked at the Head office of ELLE magazine. He then moved to the North of France – Champagne where he was Executive chef for the Champagne house PIAFF.

TALILA Specifications

TALILA is an open and stylish yacht that has a contemporary look throughout, featuring grey and cream colors. Her main salon is stylish with low couches and an adjoining dining area, separated by a low cabinet. It features a large flat screen TV, DVD, IPOD and surround system plus a selection of DVDs and music. Further forward on the main deck is the Galley and the Wheelhouse.

M/Y TALILA has unusually large and well planned outdoor areas with a full-width flybridge. The Flybridge has large cushions for sunbathing and there is an awning available for shade as well. There is also a large dining table and smaller bar areas, making it the perfect spot to entertain a number of guests. Her Aft deck seats 8-10 guests.

TALILA's 4 cabins are all located on the lower deck and are equally spacious with slightly larger bathroom and seating area in the master cabin. The full beam Master cabin is located aft with a walk in wardrobe and Spa Pool bath, the full beam VIP cabin is located forward with large shower and there are 2 twin cabins amidships each with Pullman berth. Each cabin features light carpet, darker wood and entertainment systems. There is Air conditioning throughout the vessel.

Talila looks beautiful from all angles, at anchor or whilst cruising, from water or on deck, with a wide range of water toys for all ages to keep everyone entertained and on-lookers envious.

The deck is much more spacious than most of her counterparts and very well planned. The combination of an ergonomic flybridge with large cushions for sunbathing, as well as a large lunch table and bar areas, means perfect luxury for entertainment throughout. The deck spaces are vast and spread throughout the yacht in different areas. There is a large awning that can be used whilst in port or at anchor to provide some shade from the Mediterranean sun.

The main saloon, whilst open plan, provides different areas for guests to relax, allowing the duplicate comfort of being together, or of having your own space. One can watch a movie on the new entertainment system, dance to your heart’s content with three separate airplay zones, or enjoy a delicious meal at the indoor dining space that can comfortably seat eight. However it is you may choose to kick back and relax, Talila offers the space and capability to comply.

Each of the 4 equally spacious cabins is beautifully bedecked and upholstered with light carpets, darker wood, and entertainment systems. The master cabin is equipped with a larger bathroom in addition to an extended seating area. Air conditioning is equipped throughout the vessel to ensure that all guests are cool and comfortable.

Xavier holds a MCA Master 3000GT licence  and has for many years worked on many larger yachts before discovering the joys of being based in Monaco close to his family. He’s British with South African roots and has extensively cruised the Caribben, East Coast of USA, European waters up to the far North of Scotland and Mediterrranean waters from Turkey to Gibraltar as Master/ Sailing Master or Chief Officer on various Sailing and Motor yachts up to 75Metres. Anne is a friendly and professional 32 year old Stewardess from France. Bilingual in French and English she will be attentive to all your needs.She is a stewardess with 5 years of experience in yachting, working in all areas of the occupation to provide a high class of service overall with commitment, efficiency and good attention to the needs of each guest. Her 5 years as a stewardess as well as previous experience in hospitality and bartending, plus external training and study, has developed Anne’s passion for providing service with flair whilst working in a close team with her Captain, Xavier and all crew on board of Talila.
