Kyle and Lil Yachty Are Kids Again in “iSpy” Video

Kyle and Lil Yachty serve up a hilarious, feel-good new visual for their equally upbeat collab " iSpy ," a track they dropped back in December. You can check out the video for yourself below.

The new visual takes us to a time when Kyle and Lil Boat were kids and everything was simpler, and there just happened to be beautiful video girls everywhere. Throughout the vid, we get to see the two kick back on the beach as they play in the sand and eventually ride around in a wagon—and even a pirate ship. With gorgeous models, vibrantly colorful visuals and raunchy lyrics from Kyle and Lil Boat, the video for "iSpy" feels like some sort of R-rated Nickelodeon promo, and we're definitely here for it. We're also here for the song itself.

Featuring sweet, melodic, half-sung harmonizing from Kyle and Lil Boat, "iSpy" just goes, and will definitely consume you with its feel-good vibes even without the vid.

Let's come up with the scenario that is feel good," he told Fader . "It doesn't get more feel good than being a baby surrounded by incredible looking women at the beach with no cares in the world." At one point, Kyle plays a toy piano in front of a gorgeous mermaid who is wagging her fin. The rapper said it had always been his dream to serenade a beautiful mermaid. Rap newcomer KYLE  is gaining steam with his poppy single “iSpy” featuring Lil Yachty . With their eyes set on the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 (“iSpy” currently sits at No. 5), the youthful duo unveiled their quirky video with Fader early Friday (April 7).

In the video (directed by Colin Tilley), KYLE and Yachty morph into CGI babies to soak up some rays on the beach. To make their beach day memorable, they parade around the sand with a sea of women before taking over a pirate ship. 

In an interview with Fader , KYLE explained how excited he was when he first discovered that “iSpy” was the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs charts.  “I woke up, and my friend Eric had texted me a photo of it. I made it my lock screen, and then I held the phone up to everybody in the tour bus,” he said. “My other two homies were out there. We played ‘We Gon Make It’ by Jadakiss and Styles P . I rapped every word from front to finish and cried with my homies. That’s how good of a moment that was. I was like, ‘I learned the game quickly, and I don’t like to rent/ So when I fly now I bring my cars on the plane wit me.’ Really shedding thug tears.”

Later in the interview, KYLE also touched on Yachty’s skill set being undervalued. “Yachty is completely tapped into right now,” said KYLE. “He knows what’s hot right now. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he’s on this song and on ‘Broccoli’ and on these other songs. I think he hears a song and he knows. He gets hit up a lot to do features and he’s only on the songs that turn into smashes. It’s a skill he has. He knows what’s cracking. Lil Yachty is culture king right now.”

Most of these lyrics are in a different language to the English I learned, maybe it's a cultural thing, or generational?

Anyway one line that I found very poetic in the song was:

"All this shade that's comin' at me, I wonder who throws it"

This conjures up some great imagery, and although not a line I would use verbatim in my poetry I do like the concept and the imagery that it portrays.

The rest seems about trying to score with the ladies ... not quite as poetically written as this inner self respective thinking as the line I mentioned.

Seriously the most dull, meaningless, talentless crap (shame to call it music). Obviously a stupid Lyrisist to attract millennial children (who use all the social media crap) Even sounds like a little kid song beat . Can't wait to this guy to fall off. My interpretation is: he is a horrible (so called) "rapper" , so he had to make a stupid song relevant for little kids to sell some records

Big Sean is still riding the high from his freshly released Better Me Than You album , and he’s swiftly shutting down any negativity surrounding the momentous occasion. On the  Pressure Edition  bonus track “Wire Me,” the Detroit spitter laid some bars that had fans speculating whether or not the words were aimed at Lil Yachty . However, it turns out it was just a “whole double entendre.”

The father of two continued, “He was in the studio with me while I was making the album. He actually has a verse on [“Yes”], too. I might throw it on there later.”

Better Me Than You  made landfall last Friday (Aug. 30) and boasts a roster of impressive features from names like Charlie Wilson, Gunna, Eryn Allen Kane, Syd, Thundercat, Bryson Tiller, Kodak black, Teyana Taylor, Larry June, Cash Cobain, DJ Premier, and more across 21 total tracks.

Fans have gotten to enjoy a string of quality accompanying visuals from the LP as well for tracks like “On Up” and “Who You Are (Superstar).” The former is dedicated to his son, Noah, and shot from the baby’s perspective, while the latter samples Usher’s “Superstar” and features cameos from Taye Diggs, RDC World, and more. Big Sean Clears Up Rumored Lil Yachty Diss On ‘Better Me Than You’

Big Sean has addressed claims that he dissed Lil Yachty on his new album Better Me Than You .

On the Pressure Edition bonus track “Wire Me,” Sean appeared to throw shade at the Atlanta rapper by spitting: “I mean, I might have to even throw ’em a lil’ boat — pff / I’m seein’ n-ggas gettin’ drowned out ’cause they can’t switch up the flow / Just give ’em a year or two, and they gettin’ exposed.”

In an interview with Complex , however, Sean set the record straight and denied that the lyrics were aimed at Yachty, who actually appears on the album.

“I wasn’t talking about [Lil Yachty],” he clarified. “Yachty is on the album as well. On ‘Yes’ he’s doing adlibs with me. No, I’m not taking a jab at Yachty. It was like a whole double entendre. [If I was referencing him] that would have been a whole other entendre.”

The Detroit native added that there was leftover material from his recording sessions with Yachty: “He was in the studio with me while I was making the album. He actually has a verse on [‘Yes’] too. I might throw it on there later.”

Big Sean dropped his sixth album Better Me Than You on Friday (August 30), complete with appearances from Gunna , Kodak Black , Cash Cobain , Bryson Tiller , Larry June , Teyana Taylor , Charlie Wilson and more.

The star-studded supporting cast also includes Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson , who makes a cameo on “Break the Cycle” in the form of an answer machine message congratulating Sean on being a father.

He says to Sean: “Yo, what’s up my brother? Great to hear from you. So, a few things. Most importantly, that sounds amazing. Your baby boy is nine months old, thriving. I love hearing that.

“And I’m sure that you were an inspired artist to begin with, like right out the gate, but I’m sure holding your baby boy gives you a whole new perspective. This new evolution of what inspiration means so I’m sure your motivation, inspiration is through the roof with your baby boy.”

Johnson then jokes: “What’s cool is your baby boy at nine months is almost already bigger than Kevin Hart so that’s really cool. Alright, my brother, I love you, man. So happy for you, man. Can’t wait to see your baby boy.”
