Motor Yacht

Launched in 2006 by Platinum Yachts, Dubai is the world’s second largest private yacht, measuring 162 metres. Dubai’s incredible size is disguised by the elegant lines of her steel hull and aluminium superstructure – the work of renowned designer Andrew Winch. Her stunning interior was designed by Platinum Yachts.

The construction of this megayacht began for Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei more than 10 years before the yacht’s launch. The construction, then a joint project between Blohm + Voss and Lurssen shipyards, was halted until 2001 when the hull was acquired by Platinum Yachts for His Highness Sheik Mohammed Rashid al-Maktoum. The project, previously named Platinum, Panhandle and Golden Star, was re-named Dubai.

Dubai’s luxurious interior design blends bold colours with fine fabrics and intricately detailed handmade mosaics. A spectacular staircase creates Dubai’s showpiece. Bathed in natural light from the top deck, this dramatic circular staircase features glass steps, which change colour. Dubai’s spacious decks offer a split-level owner’s deck; a large social area including the main lounge with its centrepiece red sofa; numerous VIP and guest suites, and a crew area to accommodate 115 people including crew and guest staff.

With seven decks, Dubai has a wealth of sunbathing areas; a striking mosaic swimming pool and several Jacuzzis. She can accommodate a helicopter of up to 9.5 tonnes and can carry two 10-metre long tenders.

Dubai has a displacement of 9,150 tonnes, yet can reach an impressive 26 knots at maximum speed. She has exceptional worldwide capability with a range of 8,500 miles at 25 knots, powered by four MTU diesel engines.

Her four diesel MTU engines allow her to reach top speeds of 25 knots with an average cruising speed of 20 knots.

Her 1,250,000 liter fuel tanks bring her total reach to an impressive 8,500 nautical miles. 

The exterior of the DUBAI yacht was developed by the well-known English yacht designer Andrew Winch.

His international design studio took special care with this project, and it is one of their largest to date.

The DUBAI yacht is an all-white yacht with a massive aluminum superstructure and steel hull.

She has a helipad and a beautiful mosaic swimming pool located aft.

Of course, there is plenty of space reserved for sunbathing on one of the vessel’s seven decks.

How Far in Advance Would You Recommend Booking A Yacht?

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure you get the widest selection of yachts available. All our yachts are subject to availability. We can take last minute bookings and will always accommodate clients to the best of our ability.

Do You Allow Pets Onboard?

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets on board our yachts as a matter of safety for the animals and potential damage caused to the vessels.

What are safety precautions maintained by you?

Each staff member of the crew is well trained in safety procedures. Other safety precautions include life jackets, life rafts, firefighting equipment, and First Aid kit. All our yachts are insured along with the passengers on it.

What kind of entertainment is offered on the yacht?

Music can be played; disc jockey shall be arranged as per your requirements at nominal additional charges. One is also allowed to bring the music selection of their choice.

What if the weather gets unfavorable?

In this case, we shall reschedule the booking but with prior notice as per dates as per your convenience.

What Is the Arrival Time?

We recommend arriving at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled time. If there is any extensive setup or special requests made, it is advisable to arrive earlier, to ensure you leave on time.

What Documents Should We Carry?

Every guest should carry a valid Passport or Emirates ID for their trip.

What about the privacy onboard?

It is the priority, and no one can interrupt your privacy space onboard.

Is smoking allowed on a cruise?

It is allowed on designated areas only. Sheesha smoking is not allowed on all the yachts.

2. Are the yachts insured?

Yes, all the yachts are owned and managed by Cozmo Yachts and are insured. The yachts are parked in the Dubai Marina Area and are registered with DMCA- Dubai Maritime City Authority.

3. Are babies and pets allowed aboard the yacht?

Infants are allowed but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Older children must adorn the life jacket at all times. However, pets aren’t allowed aboard our yachts strictly due to safety concerns.

4. When is the best time to go cruising or yachting?

Although the sailing season in the Arabian Sea is between December and March, when the weather remains mild and cool, September to November is also a good time to soak in the sun without getting tanned.

5. Can I bring food and drinks as well as music?

Food and beverage arrangements must be discussed and agreed upon while booking the yachts. All our boats come with basic disposable cutlery. The music system is available on every yacht and guests are allowed to bring their own music in the form of USB or AUX-friendly devices.

If you accept, we will block the yacht for the day and time chosen and arrange for you to make the payment. Dubai is the city of superlatives. But if you look beyond the world’s tallest skyscraper, biggest mall, largest water fountains and highest infinity pools, you will uncover diverse pockets of the city that reflect the personalities of the 200 nationalities that call Dubai home.

Each district is a microcosm, mixing food and leisure with entertainment and shopping or beaches and bars with art galleries and museums. So before visiting Dubai, decide what kind of holiday you want and let our list of the city’s best neighbourhoods guide you.

Sunset over Al Fahidi neighborhood

Best for: culture

It’s a one-size-fits-all name for the historical section of the city , encompassing areas such as Al Fahidi, Bur Dubai and Deira. It’s ideal for culture lovers who want to immerse themselves in history, with a mix of museums (Al Shindigha Museum, Coffee Museum, Coin Museum and Dubai Museum), the city’s oldest building (Al Fahidi Fort) and traditional Arabian souks . Prepare to haggle for souvenirs at the gold, textile or spice souks, which are separated by the Dubai Creek and reachable via a short abra (wooden boat) ride.

If you have time to spare, wander to the Dubai Heritage Village or Arts and Culture Centre before stopping by Sheikh Saeed House, which was the official residence of the grandfather of the Ruler of Dubai.

Al Seef is one of the latest developments in the area and is home to traditional architecture that blends into more contemporary structures, as well as myriad shopping concepts and a collection of restaurants throughout the open-air market.

Getting around

While many different metro stations cover Old Dubai, you can switch between Red and Green Metro lines at Union and Burjuman stations

Best for: foodies

One of the hardest categories to pick in a city increasingly earning its stripes as a global foodie destination. Away from the casual ramen and Middle Eastern mezze in JLT , the hole-in-the-wall chaat and chai venues in Bur Dubai and the endless roster of celebrity chef venues on The Palm is Jumeirah, which has about half a dozen Michelin-starred restaurants within one square kilometre.

From the two-starred Il Ristorante-Niko Romito to Orfali Bros (No 45 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, No 1 on Mena’s 50 Best and one Michelin star), venues here are racking up global awards at pace. Other celebrated venues include Tasca by Jose Avillez (one Michelin star), 11 Woodfire (one Michelin star) and Hoseki (one Michelin star). They’re all reachable within a five to 10-minute drive of each other.

It’s not all fine dining though, with terrific casual Asian food found at 3 Fils (formerly No 1 on Mena’s 50 Best and currently No 6), a renaissance of casual French food at RSVP and authentic Pakistani dishes at neighbourhood favourite Karachi Grill. The most recent addition to the neighbourhood is Sufret Maryam from Palestinian chef Salam Dakkak, which serves home-style Levantine cuisine with a fine-dining twist – it’s a must visit.

• This coastal neighbourhood is like stepping into Los Angeles thanks to its low-rise buildings, palm tree-fringed roads, casual surfer cafes and buzzing public beaches
• Jumeirah Public Beach and Mercato Beach are free to access and within walking distance
• There is something dreamy about tucking into coffee and cake at Brix Cafe watching small fishing boats bob in the harbour
• The completely renovated J1 Beach (formerly La Mer) neighbourhood of beach clubs and restaurants is set to open soon and is only a short drive away
• Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai – five-star luxury with one of the city’s best pools. It’s also home to Tasca by Jose Avillez
• Bulgari Resort Dubai – luxe hotel meets high fashion, with a private marina for yachts on a man-made island
• Rove La Mer Beach – terrific budget option in a great location, with facilities and rooms that belie its three-star rating

Getting there

Jumeirah is approximately a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina . Once there, and depending on what time of the year you visit, walking is a great to explore while taxis are cheap and usually easy to find.

Bluewaters Island and JBR

Best for: couples

From the twisting Cayan Tower to the soaring Ain Dubai, the beautiful Mohammad bin Ahmed Al Mulla Mosque to the breezy (and free) JBR beach, this corner of New Dubai packs in plenty to see and do. Buzzy rooftop bars (City Social and ZETA Seventy Seven) and high-end restaurants (including the two Michelin-starred Row on 45 and Chinese fine-dining restaurant Mott 32) rub shoulders with come-as-you-are dive bars (Lock, Stock and Barrell and The Observatory) and American-style sports pubs (Goose Island, Barasti and JB’s Gastropub).

Each area offers something slightly different, though walking from the tip of Bluewaters Island to the edge of Dubai Marina takes about an hour at a steady pace. The main beach in JBR is perennially popular with tourists, while there is no shortage of bucket list activities including skydiving over Palm Jumeirah (Skydive Dubai), ziplining over the marina waters (XLine Dubai) and renting a yacht for the day (Xclusive Yachts, Elite Yachts or Marina Yachts).

• It is Dubai tourism's beating heart, and this section of the city never seems to sleep
• Spend the morning sipping great coffee, the afternoon lazing on the free beach and the night hopping between the wealth of bars, restaurants and pubs
• Joining the neighbourhood’s residents jogging around the 7km of pedestrianised marina promenade
• It’s impressive skyline of towering skyscrapers never gets old
• Banyan Tree Dubai – stylish, under new ownership and with a private beach that has some of the city’s best waves
• Address Beach Resort – where better to soak in sweeping views of the city than this hotel’s rooftop infinity pool? It sits 77 storeys (almost 300 metres) up and holds the record for the world’s highest

Traffic is notoriously heavy between JBR and Dubai Marina, so make the most of walking or the air-conditioned Dubai Tram, which connects to Dubai Metro at stops Sobha Realty and DMCC

Dubai's manmade Palm Jumeirah

Best for: families

Palm jumeirah.

Along with Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab , the man-made Palm Jumeirah is Dubai’s best-known landmark. It’s a hotbed of high-end hotels and family-friendly resorts – each of which houses several restaurants, pools and a private beach. Travellers could – and do – spend a week without leaving the island.

Families have no shortage of terrific hotels including the Atlantis, The Palm, its more recently opened sister site Atlantis The Royal , Sofitel Dubai The Palm, Fairmont The Palm and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Things to do include visiting the world’s largest waterpark Aquaventure, with more than 100 slides and attractions; the Lost Chambers Aquarium, home to more than 65,000 sea animals; and The View at The Palm, which offers 360-degree views of the island 240 metres up. For older children and teens, most of the beachfront hotels offer watersports such as paddleboarding, kayaking and water hoverboarding. For smaller children, Nakheel Mall is a 41-hectare lifestyle destination combining shopping and entertainment with an enormous cinema, bowling, soft play and a trampoline park.

• Most hotel beaches are private with vigilant lifeguards, meaning parents can let the kids play and swim stress-free
• Downtime at spas such as Talise Ottoman (Jumeirah Zabeel Saray), Rayya Wellness (The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel) and Refive (Five Palm Jumeirah)
• For parents who can sort childcare, Palm West Beach has some of the city’s best beach bars including TagoMago, Kyma, Maison de la Plage and February 30
• Foodies have terrific options including Tresind Studio (two Michelin stars and number 13 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants), Ossiano (Atlantis, The Palm’s underwater Michelin-starred spot) and Nobu by the Beach (the Japanese brand’s only beach club)
• Atlantis, The Palm – one of the city’s best family hotel for more than 15 years for good reason
• Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort – step out of the room and into the pool by staying in one of the dreamy overwater villas
• NH Collection Dubai The Palm – serviced apartments, an excellent rooftop pool and only a five-minute walk to Nakheel Mall

A monorail connects the island to the mainland, with easy connections on the tram to Dubai Marina. Most hotels are well-stocked with taxis.
