Ma ancor prima, nasce dalla storia di donne e uomini che il mare lo vivono, rispettano ed amano da sempre.

FACCIAMO UN PASSO INDIETRO Equinoxe Yachts International deve il suo nome alla trentennale società italiana di brokeraggio nautico Equinoxe Yachts . Fondata nel 1986 dal velista Corrado Di Majo (a 23 anni è il più giovane navigatore italiano di sempre a concludere la Ostar , regata transatlantica in solitario, a 24 skipper di B&B Italia nella Whitbread , la regata intorno al mondo cui parteciperà altre due volte)

e Alessandro Ussi (Atleta di punta della Nazionale italiana nel salto triplo, luxury sailor travel designer , crea vacanze tailor-made nei luoghi più remoti ed unici del globo che lui stesso ha esplorato, ha all’attivo oltre 4.000 contratti di noleggio e ha concluso importanti vendite di yacht a motore e a vela).

Inseparabili pionieri nel mondo delle vacanze in barca e del brokeraggio nautico , sono attualmente impegnati nel nuovo progetto EYI focalizzato sulla vendita e l’acquisto di grandi yacht insieme ad Alex Mazzoni , Aldo Tomasina , Daniele Botticini , Marica Lippa e Nicolas Valin .

Com’è cambiato il mercato nautico in questi ultimi 30 anni e quali sono le prospettive per il futuro dello yachting ?

Scopriamo insieme quali sono i consigli ed i racconti che Corrado Di Majo ed Alessandro Ussi desiderano condividere con chiunque sia interessato ad acquistare o vendere uno yacht o semplicemente con si sta affacciando a questo mestiere e desidera avere qualche dritta sulla rotta da intraprendere.

Qual è la tua vendita più emozionante?

C.: Tutte le vendite di grandi barche ad armatori con cui ho potuto stabilire un rapporto fondato sulla condivisione di una vera passione per il mare e gli oceani.

A.: Direi senz’altro Dione Star , uno splendido motorsailer di quasi 45 metri che ha generato con l’attuale armatore, un tale rapporto di fiducia, amicizia e soddisfazione da indurlo a diventare nostro socio.

Operi sul mercato nautico da oltre 30 anni, qual è il segreto del tuo successo?

C.: Direi la competenza. Scegliere bene una barca, capire esattamente qual è la barca che fa per te, è tutt’altro che banale. L’aiuto, la consulenza di chi di barche si occupa da una vita può far la differenza.

A.: A. Soprattutto la passione e la dedizione, l’attenzione dedicata alla ricerca della soluzione ideale. A volte il cliente ha un’idea chiara di cosa sta cercando ma in certi casi, è guidato dall’istinto. La lettura dei vantaggi e degli svantaggi di una determinata scelta, è compito del professionista. La soddisfazione più grande? Sentirsi dire grazie da un nuovo armatore per aver guidato la decisione finale nella giusta direzione, andando anche oltre alle aspettative del cliente.

Com’è cambiato il mercato nautico in questi 30 anni?

C.: Il vantaggio è che oggi è infinitamente più facile trovare barche di ogni genere in ogni angolo del mondo, internet aiuta … lo svantaggio è che l’offerta così vasta aumenta il rischio di errore nella scelta o semplicemente aumenta la difficoltà ad orientarsi. Non dovrei dirlo io … ma oggi più che mai è dunque è indispensabile farsi consigliare da tecnici e professionisti affidabili del settore. Inoltre, oggi la fascia di mercato di maggiore successo riguarda le barche grandi e molto grandi, da 20 metri in su, mentre soffre il mercato delle barche più piccole: a maggior ragione la scelta di barche grandi e costose dovrebbe essere oculata e assistita professionalmente.

A. : Internet ha sicuramente avuto un impatto straordinario, immagini ad alta definizione, visite virtuali fatte in diretta, permettono ad un potenziale armatore di orientarsi senza dover volare da un emisfero all’altro. Il problema è che la facilità con cui chiunque può presentare una barca da “vendere” aumenta le possibilità che manchi la professionalità e la correttezza. Anche per questo è nata E.I., forte di una rete capillare di professionisti il margine di rischio si riduce drasticamente. Gli yachts che proponiamo sono praticamente “certificati”.

Il futuro dello yachting in una parola.

C.: Eco sostenibile!

Nella tua vita hai visitato i luoghi più belli ed inesplorati del mondo. Il primo che ti viene in mente, e perché?

C. :Direi il Mare di Cortez , la Bassa California… E’ un posto incontaminato, non c’è quasi nessuno pur essendo protetto e non pericoloso, è forse l’unico posto al mondo dove si mescolano paesaggi e fondali vulcanici, quindi granitici tipo Seychelles o Sardegna, e habitat tipicamente tropicali e corallini. E ci si trovano dunque , in straordinaria abbondanza, sia tutti i mammiferi marini ( foche, mante, delfini, balene…) che tutte le specie pelagiche e tropicali… un paradiso indimenticabile e unico.

A.: In oltre 30 anni alcune destinazioni mi sono rimaste davvero nel cuore e purtroppo molte di queste sono a rischio. I cambiamenti e le trasformazioni della globalizzazione le hanno rese meno autentiche e sicuramente più permeabili al consumismo ed alla modernità. Per questo motivo ritengo che tra le mie destinazioni preferite, ce ne sono alcune che non sono più praticabili, le isole Yemenite del Mar Rosso , Kamaran e Zubayr per esempio, sempre per motivi di instabilità politica Los Roques e Las Aves in Venezuela , autentici paradisi incontaminati sono oggi inaccessibili, nel primo caso e sconsigliabili nel secondo. Resta l’ Indonesia che mi ha regalato emozioni forti ed intense soprattutto dal punto di vista subacqueo. Mi riferisco all’arcipelago intorno a Komodo ed a Raja Ampat , in Papua Nuova Guinea .

Puoi vantare molti clienti “storici” e fedeli, che da molti anni si affidano alla tua consulenza. Come sei riuscito a creare relazioni così durature?

C.: Beh, forse perché quando è la irresistibile passione per il mare a muovere il dialogo tutto il resto passa in secondo piano e si parla la stessa lingua.

A .: Fiducia, conquistata attraverso un lungo percorso di conoscenza e stima. Si può anche sbagliare ma essere sempre pronti a rimediare, a correggersi e migliorarsi, avere un forte senso di responsabilità, essere un riferimento dal 1986 penso che siano alla base del nostro successo.

Qual è il consiglio più importante che daresti ad un potenziale cliente, indeciso se acquistare o meno uno yacht?

C.: Di pensarci bene … Non nel senso di “lasciar perdere”, ma in quello di affrontare la scelta con la consapevolezza di fare un passo importante e non banale che, se azzeccato, può davvero rendere felici, ma se avventato qualche grattacapo lo può dare.

A. : Parlando di un potenziale nuovo armatore mi preme sottolineare che chi non ha ancora fatto questa esperienza dev’essere davvero guidato con grande attenzione e protetto, gli si deve rappresentare con estrema chiarezza che l’entusiasmo con cui si vive questa fase iniziale potrebbe presto spegnersi perché le incognite ci sono. Non possediamo la bacchetta magica ma oltre 30 anni di esperienza fanno sì che il rischio di generare “armatori insoddisfatti” si riduca al minimo.
