Die Marina Punat ist nur ca. 30 km vom internationalen Flughafen Rijeka, im Norden der Insel Krk, entfernt. Marina Punat

The almost 2000 inhabitant’s comprehensive, lively Croatian seaside resort with marina, located on a large sheltered bay is connected to the open sea only by a narrow strait named Usta. Through the good and safe location on the natural harbor Punat is a good starting point for charter trips to the Croatian islands and the Kvarner region. The area is a paradise for sailors and motor boaters. A large number of the local sailing and motor yachts are charter yachts.

In any case, with its idyllic nature and peaceful oasis it is an escape from the everyday stress. The nearby airport on the mainland is quickly accessible as its only across the bridge. Punat was first mentioned in 1480 as Villa di Ponte. For centuries local farmers lived of trading with figs, olives and wine. The oil mill from the 18th Century is the oldest building in Punat. The Trinity Church dating back to 1773 was renovated in 1934.  A specialty of the region is the monastery island Kosljun. The local Franciscan monastery has for centuries among many religious, ethnographic and natural history preserved an extensive collection of over 20,000 old and rare books. The island of Krk was inhabited during the Roman period and the remains of the monastery can still be seen today. The monastery also houses a museum where some archaeological artifacts are on display.

History of Punat Croatia

Punat was founded in 1964 and has the oldest Marina in Croatia. It is located in one of the most sheltered bays in the Adriatic. Punat offers 800 berths (11 bases) for boats up to 45m (depth up to 3m) and all repair services. There are 400 spaces in the dry marina.

Punat is the nautical and tourist center of the island of Krk. Located in the Bay of Puntarska draga, it is naturally protected from the inconveniences of the open sea. For surfers it is the best-equipped marina in this part of the Adriatic.

Marina Punat

Punat Marina, on the island of Krk in the north Adriatic, is the oldest marina in Croatia and where nautical tourism in the region started. Today it is a large, modern marina in a well-protected bay, complete with all the services yachtsmen need. Winner of numerous awards, Punat Marina was the first marina to receive the prestigious ISO 14001 international standard for environmental protection management, which it has held since 2010. It is also a proud owner of the prestigious Blue Flag, the international recognition of excellent waste management practices, and sea cleanliness and quality.  Punat Marina is a popular yacht charter base in the North Adriatic and is located in the southwest part of the island Krk, near the town of Krk. Forty five kilometers away is the bridge that connects the island of Krk with the mainland.

Punat is an ideal starting point for sailing to the Kvarner islands, loved for its mild climate and cobalt waters. The islands of  Losinj, Krk Cres and Rab all have atmospheric old port towns and expanses of untainted coastline dotted with remote coves perfect for a dip. A variety of vessels are available for charter from this base

The advanced security system and full-service boatyard makes it a good place for a permanent berth. Well-trained staff is always at the ready always ready The main entrance is additionally secured by video surveillance; the video recordings are kept separately.

Punat Marina has 850 berths for a maximum boat length of 45m, all supplied with power and water. There is 24 security and video surveillance, public bathrooms, Wi-Fi access , laundry, ice, parking, a supermarket, a chandlery shop and bars and restaurants on site. A diving service for underwater repairs is also available on request.

The boatyard has 300 dry dock berths and a full-service workshop including slipways, a crane and a boat hoist. Services offered here are boat repairs, electrical repairs, official engine repair and services for leading brand. Technicians are able to perform a complete overhaul for all types of vessels, including superyachts.

In terms of waste management there is used oil collection, black water discharge and waste disposal and recycling bins.

Her water tanks store around 5,678 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

PUNAT - Located on the south side of the island Krk in one of the most beautiful bays on the Adriatic with the miniature island Košljun in its centre. This little town is proud of having the oldest marina on the Adriatic.

Punat is located in the southern part of the island Krk and is situated in one of the nicest and most protected bays on the Adriatic, Puntarska draga, whose centre is a miniature island Košljun – a valuable oasis that, within the Franciscan monastery, has preserved the cultural and natural heritage. Therefore it is not surprising that many visitors are keen to spend their holidays here.  The Košljun can be reached only by boat.

Punat is extremely charming, gathered along the small tight streets that lead to typical coastal houses with charming taverns. Punat - once known as a boat dock and the headquarters of powerful steamship companies – is now a popular tourist destination, due to excursions and tourist valorisation of  Košljun island's attractions, and one of the largest and best equipped marinas on the eastern Adriatic coast.

In Punat, sailors will feel particularly welcome as the largest and oldest marina on the Adriatic is located here. It can accommodate about 1 200 vessels.

The marina is open year round. It is located north of Punat, beside the shipyard Punat, on the eastern shore of Puntarska Draga Cove on the island Krk. It is the oldest Croatian marina and has a European blue banner in recognition of environmental protection.

Approach: The channel leading into the harbor is about 3m deep, shallower on both sides and is narrow. The channel is well-marked by a series of lights in the water.

Mooring: There are 830 berths for yachts up to 25 meters and 300 along the shore. The marina is protected from all winds.

Facilities: Facilities include water and electricy hook ups, showers and toilets, hotel, various shops, restaurant, café/bar, skipper club, exchange office, large car park, fuel (2km). There are also several lifts and a slipway; it is possible to have repairs done.

In the Area: The island Krk is the largest Adriatic island. It is connected to the mainland by a bridge, which is sometimes temporarily closed when winds are very strong. The northern shore of the island is windy and full of stones, while the southern shore is green and has numerous coves. The island has been populated since the Neolithic. In the middle ages it was under Frankopan rule. Punat is a small holiday resort in the southern part of the island. Opposite the marina, in the bay, there is a Franciscan monastery on the island Kosljun that dates to the 12th century. Other places to visit on Krk include Omisalj, Malinska, Vrbnik and Baska.
