In photos: the extremely private superyacht Maryah

The 125 metre superyacht Maryah has kept a low-profile since her launch in 2014. Now Boat International can share up-close photos of the extremely private yacht seen off the French Riviera. Her interior suppliers, Genesis Yachtline , also share details of the challenge of creating the turnkey interior for this superyacht, which is one of the largest in the world.

The all-steel, full-displacement motor yacht is a former Russian research vessel, originally launched by the Polish Szczecinska yard in Poland in 1990. She underwent an extensive five-year rebuild with the Elefsis Shipyards in Greece, designed by London’s H2 Yacht Design , and built to SOLAS regulations.

While details of her interior are kept closely guarded, she is said to have a contemporary interior décor sprawling over 2,300 square metres, and she has accommodations for up to 54 guests. A movie theatre, beach club and helipad are among the special features of this six-deck yacht.

Genesis Yachtline delivered the interior for Maryah , and company president Roberto Lottini was able to share limited details about creating the highly custom interiors for the ultra-private yacht.

According to the Roberto Lottini, Genesis worked with a very specific brief from the owner. “It was a very sophisticated owner and design studio that from the first day when they delivered the design package said, ‘This is the interior and these are the finishes and material we want, nothing less. It is up to you to find the solutions to comply with the SOLAS codes’.”

“Genesis was the first company in the world able to deliver a full SOLAS yacht designed to accommodate over 36 passengers using real wood veneer and satisfying fire load calculations”, he says “On Maryah, Genesis Yachtline had to certify 11 different wood veneers – ash, bamboo, rosewood, sycamore, teak, zebrano, wengè, walnut, oak, ebony and cherry – with characteristics of low flame spread and with small production of smoke and toxicity.

“Genesis Yachtline was assigned this job as a ‘turnkey’ project, which means that we provided the interior completed with all its features: marble, upholstery, loose furniture, light fixtures, bathrooms, accessories, etc.”, Roberto Lottini says. “It was the biggest challenge we had ever faced in our company history.”

Genesis says that the owner and guest areas and the staircase on board Maryah were pre-assembled at its facilities inside actual scale mock-ups using its patented Fitlock system for ease of installation and disassembly of each cabinet and interior component.
