LANA // Benetti Yachts // 107m

Benetti yachts delivered the 107m lana - one of three 100m+ gigayacht projects realized recently the italian shipyard..

LANA has a length of 107 meters and a beam of 15.2 meters. The yacht is a traditional construction with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure with a full load displacement of 3,300 tons. The entire design comes from Benetti’s in-house team. P.L.A.N.A. – Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture made the naval architecture.

LANA has diesel-electric propulsion with two engines (2,800 kW each) to reach a top speed of 18.5 knots. Furthermore, an operating range of 5,500 nautical miles at a rate of 12 knots.

LANA has an unusually layout

The vessel accommodates up to 12 guests in eight cabins that include 7 VIP staterooms on the main deck. The full-beam master suite is on the bridge deck and has two balconies. A crew of 34 people serves guests and yacht.

The main features of LANA are a touch-and-go helipad, a large swimming pool on the sundeck, and a grand piano. Furthermore, a spa with a gym, hammam, and massage room.

Inside Benetti's 107m Giga Yacht Luminosity

Launched under the codename of ‘Project Zoza’, Luminosity departed the Livorno shed in the midst of Benetti’s ‘Giga Season’ at the beginning of 2019. Representing the second in a series of launches which would prove to propel the Italian yard into new heights of Top 100 build, images and details of Luminosity have thus far been extremely thin on the ground. Now, a collection of unseen images of the ‘glass palace’ have been released, offering a tantalising taste of life onboard Luminosity.

For a Top 100 superyacht of her size, it will come as no surprise that Luminosity ’s ability to accommodate a large number of guests in ultimate luxury is almost unsurpassed. In compliance with the Passenger Yacht Code classification, Luminosity comfortably houses up to 27 guests in 12 spacious suites, as well as 37 crew members. The superyacht also features a certified helipad, health club and 30-meter-square swimming pool, suitably up to standard with vessels of her size and stature. 

Yet even the most seasoned of superyacht guests will be taken aback with the ethereal character instilled throughout Luminosity's interior design. The yacht’s interior designer, Zaniz Jakubowski Design, has taken every measure to ensure an otherworldly atmosphere reverberates throughout her six decks of decadence. 

Tributes to art and literature can be found everywhere; from Damien Hirst’s famous coloured circles on the French limestone floor of the Main Deck Lobby, to the beginnings of Melville’s Moby Dick engraved on the crafted pillars. In the main lounge area, 264 white magnolia flowers sculpted in Corian resin on the aft wall greet guests by opening and closing as they pass by. The main lobby stairwell is a virtual forest, vibrant and moody, realised by a visual panel stretching 370 square meters along the height of the stairwell. 

Life onboard Luminosity is no ordinary experience, and the yacht’s designer has made no pretence of this. The result is an immersion into a floating fairytale, an onboard character and charm quite unlike any other, bolstered by the galvanising power, technology and innovation typical of any Benetti new build.

Lurssen ‘s 107m yacht PROJECT ICECAP has been seen on sea trials in Germany near the Wolgast shipyard, showcasing her magnitude, eye-catching design and expansive decks. She is currently under construction in her final stages at the Peene-Werft yard in Germany.

A huge explorer yacht built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she is expected to be seen cruising the world’s oceans in full safety, comfort and luxury. Following her delivery, she will enter the list of the largest mega yachts ever built with a massive interior volume of 6000GT.

With naval architecture and an exterior design by Salt Ship Design, the yacht boast distinctive exterior lines, with a typical expedition yacht design boasting numerous areas for storage of equipment, toys, tenders and a lot more. She has a helicopter pad located aft and judging by the images will have a large beach club and swim platform area at the transom.

Numerous lounging, sunbathing and dining areas will be present, with deluxe, modern accommodation for the owners and guests on board.

She is powered by three Wärtsilä 9L20C Diesel-Electric engines of 2007KW or 2692HP each. She is scheduled for delivery in 2023.

Video: Life on board 107m explorer yacht Ulysses

When she was delivered to her owner back in March , the 107 metre Ulysses was hailed as the ultimate explorer yacht.

With rugged exterior styling by Oscar Mike  and a serious long-range cruising capability, it’s not hard to see why, but this new on board video shows that her interiors are just as impressive:

In the two-minute clip, we are given a glimpse of what a day on board Ulysses is like, with the guests arriving by helicopter before heading straight to the bridge to plan their next expedition.

Next up is a quick dip in Ulysses ’ aft deck swimming pool, which measures 11 metres long, before heading out onto the open water to try out wakeboarding, waterskiing and flyboarding.

As night falls, the guests move up to the upper deck for a formal meal, followed by after-dinner entertainment in the games room, complete with pool table and on board cinema.

The video also shows off Ulysses '  superyacht gym and her impressive storage capacity, which means you can explore on land with motorcycles, ATVs and dirt bikes.

One of the world’s largest explorer yachts , Ulysses can accommodate up to 30 guests and is manned by a crew of 30 people. Her globetrotting range of 8,500 nautical miles at 12 knots is made possible by a total fuel capacity of 470,000 litres.

The first superyacht launched by Norwegian commercial yard Kleven , Ulysses is currently offered for sale . Other projects currently under development at Kleven include the 116 metre K370 , which is due to launch next year.

107m explorer yacht SHACKLETON embarks on sea trials

The 107m (351ft) Lürssen  expedition yacht SHACKLETON has been spotted on the water in Wolgast, Germany stretching her sea legs on her initial round of sea trials, designed to test her capabilities, equipment and safety features.

Built in Lurssen’s naval division shipyard, Peene-Werft, the 6,500 GT yacht features exterior styling by independent Norwegian studio Salt Ship Design, who were also responsible for her naval architecture. She sports a crisp white hull with striking curved reverse bow design for fuel-efficient slicing through the waves, with the additional bonus of providing extra accommodation space for the crew.

Formally known as Project Icecap, the megayacht’s specifications and amenities have been kept a closely guarded secret, but pictures reveal she has an expansive aft deck platform offering ample space for helicopter operations, as well as a playing host to a waterside beach club and wide array of alfresco relaxation areas across her voluminous decks.

It was revealed early doors that she will feature state-of-the-art technology and engineering for all her onboard systems, as well as a hybrid propulsion system enabling her to cruise in diesel-electric mode, significantly reducing her energy consumption and providing considerable fuel savings to her owner.

Delivery is expected in the coming months, following the successful completion of sea trials. It is not expected that expedition yacht SHACKLETON will be available for charter once she’s delivered to her owner.
