Farrier F-22R Show Stopper at USA
Our little sailboat from ‘down under’ turned many heads at the recent sailboat show in Annapolis. This was the first time the F-22 has been on public display anywhere in the world. Sincere thanks to James Linnett for lending us #17.
It was great to see the F-Boaters from all around come visit us, and listen to their positive comments on the late Ian Farrier’s game changing folding trimaran.
The Farrier team were part of the Daedalus Yachts stand, which won Best In Show 2018 for our presentation. It featured the G4, the F-22R and a scale model of the D80, along with video footage of all three sailing concepts.
It was a busy five days, during which time the F-22R was nominated as SAIL Magazine, Sailboat of the Year for Small Cruisers. We will hear the outcome of this mid November in the next issue of SAIL Magazine, so fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
Our days at the show were followed by numerous sea trails for prospective buyers of the F-22. It was a real pleasure to see the smiles on the faces of our potential customers as they experienced the F-22 first hand. Our build book will fill up very fast in the coming months for sure.

Reviewed: Farrier F-22 Trimaran. You could be forgiven for not realizing the F-22 trimaran is, in fact, a first-rate pocket cruiser. The boat’s narrow, plumb-bow entry, powerful amas, sleekly sculpted cabintrunk, expansive cockpit and powerful high-aspect rig all seem to speak to pure performance. A single glance belowdecks, though, is all it ...

Like most quiet geniuses Ian is little known in his native New Zealand, yet commands a cult following everywhere else in the world. His latest creation, the F22 folding trimaran is no different to most of the boats built in his Christchurch factory – disappearing into 40-foot containers and exported to an eager international clientele.
