Her love for the ocean and working with people of all ages and cultures mixed with her desire to work at sea, naturally drew her to yachting. Samantha's greatest asset is her creativity, nurtured through her passion for dance, painting, and drawing. She then refined these skills as a waitress and a teacher, setting table decorations for functions, creating exciting and engaging lessons for children, and choreographing dance pieces. On board, Samantha particularly loves serving guests, organizing parties, and mixing beautiful, handcrafted cocktails. From creative table settings, scented hand towels, welcome drinks, and themed nights to personalized touches like scented knowing the guests' names and what they will ask for, even before they ask for it. Developing a good rapport with the guests is highly important. Samantha believes having a happy and positive presence will make the guests feel the same. Dance and yoga are not just pastimes for Samantha; they're her passions. I don’t know where to begin to thank you for an experience our family will talk about for years to come. As you know from our conversations our family is fortunate to have traveled a lot. We picked Croatia because none of us had been there. That was a good start because it is wonderful. Then we really hit the jackpot when our charter broker recommended Sweet Escape.<br /> <br /> What an experience! Our family wanted to stay on board, read, talk and do water activities—and did they ever do the water toy program! Your crew went beyond the call of duty to be patient with us learning how to ride all the toys. We loved it.<br /> <br /> The food was outstanding. All the meals were a delight and the service of the wait staff was over the top. My wife and daughter (who is an interior designer) took a picture of every table setting because they could have all been in a magazine. We loved the food so much and found the portions to be so perfect that we never felt as though we’d eaten too much nor did we all gain a lot of weight. Congratulations for that. Very well done.<br /> <br /> Now, about you, Capt. Paul. You were terrific. Thank you for running a safe, tight, well supervised boat. It is noticed and appreciated. Please receive my family’s most sincere thanks and gratitude for taking such good care of our family.<br /> <br /> Bottom line. After this, he moved into yachting where his interest in the engineering department blossomed. Kyle has an unmatched work ethic which compliments the fantastic crew onboard that is committed to doing whatever it takes to make memories and dreams come true. He is able to teach snorkeling, jet skiing, and many other water activities to guests who are trying for the first time. Aside from 130’ SWEET ESCAPE, Kyle has also worked onboard 262’ EXCELLENCE, 208’ MOCA, 182’ AXIS, 144’ MIM, and more. <br /> <br /> In his spare time Kyle enjoys watersports such as shark diving, surfing, and spear fishing. He is ready to provide an experience of a lifetime that keeps guests coming right back for more.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> DECKHAND – GUSTAV VON MANSBERG<br /> Education: Tender Opps, Deckhand Course, PWC, Radar, Radio and Powerboat level 2<br /> Languages: English, Afrikaans<br /> <br /> Gustav aka “Goose,” grew up in a town called Vanderbjilpark in Gauteng, South Africa with his three siblings. Prior to joining the yachting industry, he was doing draughtsman work for his uncles' company starting at the early age of 16. He has since been in yachting for just over two years after taking his cousins advice that it wasn’t worth studying something that he would never enjoy. Gustav is responsible for making sure all charter guests are safe while enjoying every moment outside. If there is a water toy requested, Gustav will have it in working order. He has also worked on 164’ CHASING DAYLIGHT and 108’ BAD ROMANCE and hopes to become an Officer on a motor yacht one day.<br /> <br /> When you can’t find Gustav on the exterior of the boat, you can find him working out, skating, longboarding, exploring new places, doing videography and photography or watersports. Gustav wants guests to fully enjoy the whole experience of the exterior, providing an adventure like no other. </p></div> </div> </div> </div>

It was an astounding week of togetherness, family fun, fabulous meals, beautiful sights and loving attention from the outstanding crew. A finer group of people could not be found anywhere. Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.">Price Terms: Plus Expenses

Christiaan then decided to set sail from Cape Town, to the United States of America, to pursue a career in the yachting industry. He was drawn to engineering and has been working his way up. He now holds an MCA Y3 chief engineer certification, along with 15 years of experience in the industry! Right after school, she hopped on a plane to France and climbed onboard the first sailing yacht she saw. Since then, she has done multiple Atlantic crossing and achieved her yacht master’s qualification. Back in her hometown of Stellenbosch, Kristin had an opportunity to open her own café which she ran for three years. After that, she decided to focus more on the hospitality side of yachting and has now joined chartering motor yachts, which led her to M/Y Sweet Escape. As Chief Stewardess, Kristin ensures that everything in the yacht´s interior runs seamlessly. STEWARDESS - Samantha McCririck Languages: English Meet Samantha, a vibrant and multi-talented Stewardess, who brings a wealth of experiences and a zest for creativity on board SWEET ESCAPE. Hailing from the coastal beauty of Australia, Samantha´s childhood was a tapestry of sun, sea, and adventure. Before setting sail in the world of yachting, Samantha spent seven years as a dedicated primary school teacher in London. Her love for the ocean and working with people of all ages and cultures mixed with her desire to work at sea, naturally drew her to yachting. Samantha´s greatest asset is her creativity, nurtured through her passion for dance, painting, and drawing. She then refined these skills as a waitress and a teacher, setting table decorations for functions, creating exciting and engaging lessons for children, and choreographing dance pieces. On board, Samantha particularly loves serving guests, organizing parties, and mixing beautiful, handcrafted cocktails. She wants charter guests to leave with the feeling that their time on board surpassed their expectations. For Samantha, the small details are what make a trip memorable. From creative table settings, scented hand towels, welcome drinks, and themed nights to personalized touches like scented knowing the guests´ names and what they will ask for, even before they ask for it. Developing a good rapport with the guests is highly important. Samantha believes having a happy and positive presence will make the guests feel the same. Dance and yoga are not just pastimes for Samantha; they´re her passions. In her spare time, you can find her engaging in both of these activities, helping cultivate discipline, confidence, and creativity. With her bubbly personality, she creates a “home away from home” environment onboard M/Y Sweet Escape. Luan’s good-natured personality, enthusiasm, and good listening skills brings the best out of people and motivates everyone to enjoy living in the moment. He easily adapts to situations and helps people feel at ease because he genuinely cares about everyone’s well-being. Luan shows great initiative with guests and will ensure an unforgettable stay onboard M/Y Sweet Escape. DECKHAND - Benjamin Arce Languages: English Ben comes from a small town in Northern Indiana. He has two older brothers that live down in Florida, and after graduating from high school, he decided to follow them. Being around yachts and living on the water, Ben made a few connections and managed to get his foot in the door. He loved the yachting industry and decided to enroll in a few courses. Since then, Ben has been in the industry and has spent some time on board M/Y Sweet Escape. With his hard work, determination and cherry disposition, we keep on calling him back! Ben is a great addition to our team and will most certainly be a great addition to any charters going ahead. What he loves most about this industry, is the life-long friends made onboard and the treasured memories made together on the ocean. Ben cannot wait to welcome you all onboard and make sure everyone has the time of their lives on M/Y Sweet Escape!

No one can control the weather and the crew did an amazing job to move us around to sheltered water and find the best weather they could for us on some of those days. We actually had an excellent time, we made the best of the days and toys and the yacht. We were very appreciative of the crew and staff and how hard they worked to take care of all of us. We have nothing but great things to say about the whole team and we are all very happy to have a trip of a lifetime for our group.

It was outstanding! Too many memories and amazing times to describe on e-mail specially on the first day back! The crew, the detail, the meals! Amazing! Thank you!

Dear all Crew, Thank you for a “Sweet Escape”, it has been an amazing voyage, all you guys have been absolutely welcoming and thank you all for your amazing experiences, hospitality and amazing food, service and amazing cookies! Thank you for a life experience we will never forget! Lots of Love to all the crew, — Love from the M’s xxx January, 2019

The M. Family

This trip was the dream-vacation of a lifetime, planned to celebrate W’s birthday and W & C’s 60th Wedding Anniversary. Our our entire immediate family of ten, nine were able to come with us and spend this dream-week onboard “Sweet Escape”. It was an astounding week of togetherness, family fun, fabulous meals, beautiful sights and loving attention from the outstanding crew. A finer group of people could not be found anywhere. They anticipated our every wish and need, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day. Thank you. —The M. Family September, 2018

Dear Captain Paul What an incredible week we had on Sweet Escape, in large part because of you and your wonderful crew. Wow! I don’t know where to begin to thank you for an experience our family will talk about for years to come. As you know from our conversations our family is fortunate to have traveled a lot. We picked Croatia because none of us had been there. That was a good start because it is wonderful. Then we really hit the jackpot when our charter broker recommended Sweet Escape. What an experience! Our family wanted to stay on board, read, talk and do water activities—and did they ever do the water toy program! Your crew went beyond the call of duty to be patient with us learning how to ride all the toys. We loved it. The food was outstanding. Very well done. Now, about you, Capt. Paul. You were terrific. Thank you for running a safe, tight, well supervised boat. It is noticed and appreciated. Please receive my family’s most sincere thanks and gratitude for taking such good care of our family. Bottom line. This was an unparalleled experience that we will not soon forget. Thank you, thank you, thank you, —The M. Family July, 2018

The L. Family

What an amazing trip! We worked and planned this adventure through Croatia for a year, and it surely paid off! The fabulous crew of Motoryacht Sweet Escape took absolute care of all our needs before we even knew what we needed ourselves. They could not have been more attentive! We will all miss them! The yacht was a gem, we never lacked for an activity! The food was fantastic each day. Our family thanks you all, each and every one, for the most wonderful trip of a lifetime. We hope to see you all again in the near future. XO. — The L. Family July, 2018

S, R & Family

Dear Captain Paul & Crew, This last week has truly been a blessing and a lifelong memory for our family. While Sweet Escape is phenomenal and our natural surroundings incredibly picturesque, it has been your care and service to our family that has made this vacation! We cannot remember another holiday opportunity when we have all felt so cared for. From the moment we woke up in the mornings until our heads hit the pillows each night—one of you was always looking out for us. Thank you so much for truly caring not only for our comfort but also for our safety. We will never forget all of the wonderful meals, our squeaky clean cabins, the hours & hours & hours on the “toys”, our trips into quaint towns, champagne conversations, safe and professional travel and most of all, your company and friendship. Thank you again for caring for us. We will always cherish this week! Sincerely, —S, R & Family June, 2018

T, C & Family

CharterWorld broker Martha Lukasik stepped aboard the recently refitted superyacht SWEET ESCAPE (ex.LADY ZELDA, ALTEZA) for a luxury lunch, showcasing Chef Warren Carney’s broad repertoire.

Elegant dining area

The photos below show off the amazing feast set out at the formal dining table – just one of the areas on board which has received an appearance update. Martha had this to say of her up-close inspection of life on board:

“Sweet Escape is looking sweetest ever! 😊 after the recent refit.  The interiors are now kept in elegant and toned colours with matching décor and art pieces. Captain Steven knows the yacht by heart and he explained in detail all the works that were done including major mechanical refit and upgrades. The chef’s lunch creations starting with ceviche with cucumber gazpacho, asparagus salad with quail eggs followed by pan-seared branzino were mouthwatering. Gagarin cup (khl) finals:  atlant moscow oblast vs. salavat yulaev ufa.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd.

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that.

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role.

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.

  • Atlant @ Ufa, Friday Apr 8 (3:00 PM CET/10:00 PM EST)
  • Atlant @ Ufa, Sunday Apr 10 (1:00 PM CET/8:00 AM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Tuesday Apr 12 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Thursday Apr 14 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)

Games 5-7 are as yet unscheduled, but every second day is the KHL standard, so expect Game 5 to be on Saturday, like an early start.

Sweet Dream is equipped with all of the available factory exterior options including bow thruster, electric Harken winch package, Extendo-boom (for lifting a dingy out of the water and onto the aft deck), polished SS Dorade vents, and rubrail. The custom hard bimini has tracks built-in underneath for a full vinyl enclosure or sunshades plus four solar panels on top. Custom cockpit cushions include an added back support/booster seat at the helm. Kato Davits w/ winch, Kato Lift, and motor mount grace the stern.

All sail control lines run to the cockpit for ease of handling, with the knot, wind and depth instruments mounted above the companionway and the radar/ chart plotter mounted at the helm.

When entering the bright airy Salon your first impression is how spacious this area is. The combination of the Ultraleather covered cushions, plenty of natural light and the ability to stow the dinette table against the fwd bulkhead help to make the salon feel open and spacious. With the dinette table down and fully-extended you can comfortably entertain a large group. A smaller "wine and cheese" table sits on a post and can be located on either side of the saloon or easily removed when not needed. If extra bunks are needed to accommodate additional overnight guests, the port settee pulls out and converts to a double berth. The cabin sole is solid teak and ash tongue-and-groove flooring, and two air conditioning units and a diesel heating system provide climate control for anywhere in the world.

The forward facing Navigation Station is aft of the salon on the port side. It features a high-back swivel seat and a desk with a chart storage tray. The nav station houses the AC/DC panel, electronics, and a wet hanging locker. The stereo system controls, VHF and SSB are also located here.

The large Galley is located on the starboard side between the companionway and the aft cabin. Whether you are doing long distance cruising or entertaining at the docks, the galley does it all. The galley is equipped with two (2) refrigerator/freezers, each with separate compressors and controls, enabling the owner to make either box a refrigerator or freezer.  The ENO LPG stove w/oven and broiler is a custom installation; with sealed burners for easy cleaning, and an efficient broiler. On the inboard island is plenty of open counter space with a deep, double bowl sink, fresh water hand pump, seagull filtered drinking water faucet, and a storage cabinet for additional items. The Corian countertops are beautifully finished with a one- piece integrated fiddle to aid in cleaning and keeping a neat and orderly galley when underway. The cabin sole is made of a molded nonskid for easy maintenance and a sure-footed feel.

Moving aft you enter the Owner's Stateroom. The focal point of this cabin is an upgraded queen-sized island berth. Again, this is a very bright and airy cabin with lots of headroom. There are (6) opening ports and a large overhead hatch to provide both natural ventilation and light. On the starboard side is a built-in chair flanked by large cedar- lined hanging lockers and shelved storage. There is a large pull-out drawer beneath the berth and the bottom of the berth opens up, with the assistance of gas struts, to provide access to another large storage area perfect for blankets or sweaters. Additional access to the aft deck “garage” locker is located here through a gasketed door on the aft bulkhead.

The Owner's Head is located on the port side. It features a VacuFlush toilet, molded spacious shower stall, with a seat and folding acrylic door, a vanity with a one-piece molded countertop, shelves, a mirror and plenty of ventilation.

The comfortable Forward Stateroom offers a double island berth, lockers, shelves to port and starboard, excellent ventilation and direct access to the Guest Head. The base of the berth lifts up for storage and there are two pull-out drawers. Excellent ventilation and natural light make the forward stateroom a comfortable space to spend time.

The Guest/Day Head is accessible from both the forward stateroom and the Saloon. The countertop is a one-piece acrylic with molded-in fiddles and a stainless steel sink. The head has a freshwater VacuFlush unit with a dedicated water tank. The roomy separate shower stall has a bi-fold acrylic door and a teak seat.

The Third Cabin is currently set up with bunk beds.  The top bunk folds up to be out of the way, creating a sofa, or pull the bottom berth out to form a double berth.

The 485 provides enormous living space, enough storage to hold gear for a circumnavigation, enough sail to speed you comfortably to your destination and the convenience of managing it all from the cockpit. From the broad anchor platform to the spacious stern boarding area, the 485’s deck abounds with features you will appreciate.

The large aft deck is perfect for sunbathing, impromptu dining and is also large enough to accommodate up to a 10’ dinghy, which can be easily hoisted aboard with a clever optional boom extension system. Storage bins on either side of the aft deck hold LPG bottles and miscellaneous gear. A larger central hatch opens to a ladder leading into a huge storage lazarette. Uncluttered side decks, a recessed foredeck and plentiful cabin top handrails provide security on deck.

Below, you’ll be immediately impressed by the panoramic view of the open main saloon, the spacious forward and aft cabins with private heads, the solid teak and oak soles throughout, the gourmet galley, a multi-use third stateroom and a navigation center that rivals those on much larger yachts.

Adjacent to the companionway, the nav station includes a high-backed swivel armchair, inlaid table with storage tray, cabinetry space sufficient to mount a wide variety of equipment you might select and the master electrical panels for ship-board AC and DC equipment. There’s also a hanging locker suitable for wet gear within reach. This area is so impressive that SAIL Magazine’s Best Boats judges made this comment: “Any offshore navigator would love to call this nerve center home. This is the best equipped nav station we saw this year.”

In the main saloon the starboard settee converts to a double berth when fully extended and both settees double as comfortable sea berths. A large table stows against the forward bulkhead and deploys to create a spacious dining area. CE Category A – Ocean rated safety windows provide a panoramic view and overhead lights and numerous reading lamps with individual dimmers are found throughout.

The gourmet galley is equipped with digitally controlled refrigerator and freezer compartments and double gasketed drop-front lids on gas support struts for easy access. Either compartment may be used for refrigerated or frozen storage at the setting of the controls. There’s also a pull-out refrigerator drawer for quick access to popular beverages and food.

Aft is the grand owner’s stateroom with an offset double island berth. Hanging storage with extra height is provided by the outboard hanging locker. Access to the aft lazarette storage area is also made available through the aft bulkhead.

Forward is a guest stateroom and head with a double island berth. All staterooms include numerous opening ports and large overhead hatches, providing plenty of light and ventilation. Both berths are surrounded by an array of cabinets, lockers, drawers and shelves, including hinged lids that lift to reveal blanket trays.

The third cabin is across from the forward head and is perfect for a multitude of uses. One can choose over/under style berths as a sleeping area or an L-shaped counter/desk with built-in cabinets underneath for an office, laundry, or workshop. An optional filler piece is also available to make a double berth with this latter configuration.

Both luxurious heads feature vanities with solid acrylic countertops, separate shower stalls with seats, folding acrylic doors and standard VacuFlush® heads. Whether cruising the oceans of the world or exploring coastal anchorages, the 485 has been designed and built to take you safely and comfortably to your destination.

The Island Packet 485 builds on the exemplary qualities that have made Island Packet yachts respected and admired around the world. Naval architect Bob Johnson created the IP485 by combining the superior comfort, ease of use, seakeeping and safety that have always been the foundation of the Island Packet concept, along with the innovative features and stunning good looks that will again set benchmarks for the cruising sailor.

“A deck hatch amidship in the fantail opens to a lazarette the size of a New York studio apartment. Not only does this space afford excellent access to the 2-inch-diameter stainless-steel rudderstock for inspection; but it’s also big enough to hold a second roll-up dinghy, dive gear, surfboards, a ton of rode, and on and on. A stamped plate at the bottom of the ladder to this compartment offers sure footing and protects the area from the various items that will surely get dropped.

And if you intend to telecommute from faraway ports, the standard layout of the 485 features a spacious office just forward of the mast to starboard. There is a dedicated space for an optional washer/dryer, and I could imagine the office being used as a small workshop, as well. Upper and lower bunk berths are also an option here.

The aft cabin features a spacious athwartship island berth, with an overhead hatch, two cowl vents, and opening ports. A hanging locker, chair, and a spacious head with a separate shower round out the arrangements. A small door leading aft from the cabin opens to the large lazarette. This lets you access the super-lazarette “garage” when the dinghy is stowed and covering the deck hatch. As one would expect of a Florida builder, ventilation on this boat is excellent, and integral shades on all hatches and windows keep the main cabin from turning into a solar cooker.”

reviewed by Cruising World: Darrell  Nicholson June 2003

The galley is located beneath the companionway stairs and to starboard. The Galley is spacious and well-equipped with loads of counter space, cavernous refrigeration and freezer space and storage.

Sweet Dream has been a cherished member of her current owners' lives since March 2022, marking the beginning of an unforgettable journey. Acquired with the sole purpose of embarking on a “bucket-list” two-year sailing escapade, Sweet Dream and her owners have sadly now come to the end of this grand adventure.

Her voyage commenced from the west coast of Florida, weaving through the enchanting waters of the Florida Keys. Then she traversed the eastern seaboard not once, but twice, venturing as far north as Oriental, NC.  During the winter months, Sweet Dream carried her owners to the Bahamas for two memorable winters, providing ample space and comfort for cherished family visits.

Whether traveling serenely along the intracoastal waterway or braving the open ocean, Sweet Dream ensured that we traveled in luxury and safety. Even during extended three-day passages, her spacious cabins, coupled with amenities like electric winches, a bow thruster, auto-pilot, and electric windlass, offer a reassuring sense of comfort & security, even for those less experienced in the art of sailing, like ourselves.  Sweet Dream is ready to whisk her crew away on their next unforgettable adventure.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

sweet escape yacht owner

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Hidden among the stunning hills off of Paradise Valley, Montana is the state's largest bunker community. Current resident Dean Anderson fell in love with the area after visiting for a fishing trip and went on to buy an abandoned 1980s nuclear fallout shelter. With the help of young men struggling with life for various reasons, Dean converted the three-storey underground shelter into a truly unique space.

A patch of paradise

In Paradise, Montana there are more than 50 underground bunkers dotted across the breathtaking landscape. Back in the 1980s, when the Cold War still rumbled on, local homeowners in the area were required to have a place in a fallout shelter, hence the high numbers. According to Dean, “it was actually in the home owners association's (HOA) documents.”

Just 25 miles from the northern perimeter of Yellowstone National Park, Dean discovered Paradise in 2018 and set about looking for a property of his own. Unfortunately, he found that house prices were "in the stratosphere" – luckily, all was not lost...

<p>Dean eventually stumbled upon this bunker, which was up for sale by the owner for "next to nothing." Five years later, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YFdMLDU6Fc">documentary maker Kirsten Dirksen</a> visited Paradise to capture the property's transformation from a forgotten bunker into an awesome underground home.<br> <br> This is what the site looked like when Dean first bought it. <p>The group eventually fully uncovered what Dean describes as a "4,500 to 5,000-square-foot cement igloo" made from "a million to a million and a half dollars worth of cement stuck underground." According to Dean, the structure was so sturdy as the original builders "over-built the poop out of it" using excessive reinforcements and materials to ensure their safety in a nuclear disaster.</p> <p>Despite its rough and ready appearance, Dean was convinced he could "turn it into something cool."</p>

Despite its rough and ready appearance, Dean was convinced he could "turn it into something cool."

What had once been the entrance into the main bunker, the previous owners had turned into a kitchen and living room – as you can see from this rather grainy old photo.

You can see a wood-burning stove, with its flue reaching all the way up to the concrete ceiling, which was about 13 inches thick.

<p>As we can see, Dean and his team updated the room and made openings into two well-proportioned bedrooms.</p> <p>This area had originally housed a decontamination chamber. During decontamination, the contaminated water would have run underground, into a 3,000-gallon septic tank below the kitchen.</p>

...now a welcoming living space

As we can see, Dean and his team updated the room and made openings into two well-proportioned bedrooms.

This area had originally housed a decontamination chamber. During decontamination, the contaminated water would have run underground, into a 3,000-gallon septic tank below the kitchen.

<p>When Dean started work on the property, the tank had been turned into an area to store emergency food rations. The tunnel that lead down into it was hidden inside a kitchen cupboard and was large enough for a man to fit through, as one of Dean's crew-members demonstrates here.</p>

<p>The enormous bunker was filled with unexpected discoveries. In fact, the team sourced so many random items, they coined the phrase, "the bunker will provide."</p> <p>They sawed through the kitchen floor to reveal another old septic tank. Dean cut it open and converted it into what he calls a "redneck geothermal" storage tank. The temperature in the tank stays at about 12°C (around 54°F), so Dean pulls cool air from it in the summer and adds cool air to it in the winter to help keep the bunker home at a consistent temperature all year round.</p>

<p>This unfinished bedroom currently sleeps one person, however, when the bunker was originally built, it contained bunks to sleep 12 to 14 people. Dean now aims to create three individual bedrooms using the walls already in place.</p> <p>"The bunks went all the way up [to the ceiling]. It's amazing how they had them crammed in here," Dean says. "If your children were smaller you got a discount."</p>

In the corridor, Dean proudly displays a collage of his friends and protégés working with him on the bunker transformation. It centres around an image of an old police mugshot of Dean, back in the days when – in his words – he was "young and dumb."

<p>The mugshot shows Dean "screaming at the policeman." He explains that, a long time ago, he was "going nowhere" and his future looked bleak. Then an old man took Dean under his wing and said he could give Dean a set of tools and show him a path whereby he could straighten up his life. As a result, Dean has been sober for over three decades.</p> <p>"Now, I'm really just paying it forwards," he says of his mission.</p>

<p>"We use projects as a catalyst to help young addicts and alcoholics change their lives," Dean says. <p>The project is only partially completed and Dean aims to add more 'apartments' to the underground dwelling. Each summer, he <a href="https://montanasociety.org/montanatrip/">takes on a new crew</a> of men in early recovery, pays them a wage and gives them bed and board in return for their hard work.</p> <p>They must also attend a daily recovery meeting and work through AA's 12 steps to recovery. Sometimes these men are "fresh out of prison" or "right off the street," according to Dean.</p>

<p>The team built a homemade conveyor from a rusty old barrel to extract the tubs and sacks of provisions from the bunker's cellar. </p> <p>"We tried to do it in a labour-efficient manner and also we don't have to trek it through the bunker," one member of the crew said.</p>

<p>The method proved surprisingly effective and soon there were more barrels and sacks above ground than below. Now that Dean has removed them all, he plans to seal off the exposed earth walls and turn the basement into a workshop and laundry room.</p>

<p>Dean re-uses what he can from around the site. "I get so excited about leveraging resources that are sitting there", he says. "It's in my nature... not to buy new stuff." Everything is reclaimed, including the paint, which Dean sourced from thrift stores or was already at the property.</p> <p>"Mr. Anderson really is one of the good ones", one YouTube user commented on the documentary. "Not just because he recycles discarded humans and discarded bunkers, but because he doesn't treat either of them like trash."</p>

Larsa Pippen, 49, models a $900 Versace string bikini while on a yacht in Miami... after reuniting with beau Marcus Jordan, 33

Larsa Pippen  was seen in a string bikini from Versace in Miami on Monday, which was Memorial Day.

The $900 suit was purple with the fashion house's name in big letters. Oddly, Miami is the city where the designer Gianni Versace was murdered at age 50 in 1997 .

The Real Housewives of Miami star was sitting on the back of the boat as she wore sunglasses with her hair partially pulled back.

The looker was toned and tanned in the new photo that was taken in Florida . She was working on her suntan during a break from her reality TV series  Real Housewives of Miami .

The star has been spending spring in Miami with her children whom she had with her ex Scottie Pippen.

This comes after the 49-year-old siren (she turns 50 in July) got back together with her boyfriend, 33-year-old Marcus Jordan, the son of  Michael Jordan .

Larsa poses in swimsuits so often that she should start her own swimwear line

In April she had said she was separating from Michael Jordan's son Marcus, as she believes they are on 'different journeys .'

She sat down with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes on their podcast Amy & TJ on iHeartradio  as she discussed what her life would look like moving forwards.

According to the episode's description, the brunette beauty '[addresses] her relationship status with Marcus Jordan and their breakup.

'She reveals her parenting strategy with former husband  Scottie Pippen and why his NBA retirement presented challenges. Plus, what she’s looking for in her next partner.'

The old friend of Kim Kardashian explained that she realized Marcus wasn't her 'guy' after she spent time away from him, giving her clarity on their relationship.

She noted that she believes her and her ex are on different places in their life and that it is not age related, despite the fact that she is 49 and he is 33.

Larsa said she was filming the reality show House of Villains on E! when she reflected on their on and off relationship.

But then soon after they got back together as they looked happy on a beach.

'You know, I feel like I just finished. I just wrapped up shooting the show, and I spent time away from him and everyone else. I was there for like two weeks, and it just kind of gave me clarity when I was alone,' she said on the podcast.

'And I think when you're alone, you kind of really miss the person or you realize maybe you aren't my guy, and that made me realize, I don't think he's my guy.'

She continued: 'I just think we are on a different journey and I feel like I have to be true to who I am, what I'm doing, and what he's doing.'

'I want him to be happy, he's a great guy, but I just don't feel like it's for me.'

Larsa was asked if she thinks age was a factor in their split: 'I don't think it's the age. It's just where we are right now.

'It's hard sometimes to break up because you are so used to living with the person, we had our podcast together, we worked together, I had him on Housewives.'

The mom of four also added that she is currently single.

Larsa and Marcus parted ways for the first time just days before Valentine's Day - even unfollowing each other - reuniting one week later after a reconciliation and re-following one another.

They split for the second time and for good in mid-March.

The pair started dating September 2022.

Sunday morning she posted a video of herself and her daughter out for an Easter brunch.

She tagged her 15-year-old as she penned, 'My mini me.'

In early July, Marcus' father - Michael Jordan - was asked if he was in favor of the relationship outside Matignon in Paris and he said 'No!' with a laugh.

He was there with his wife Yvette Prieto, 44.

Michael, 60, has been in a feud with Larsa's ex husband Scottie Pippen, who was married to the brunette beauty from 1997 until 2021.

She has four children with ex-Scottie.
