102ft x 30ft x 6.5ft Paddlewheel Passenger Vessel

Starlite Princess

From the press release when the vessel was launched around 1987:

The 400 passenger, United States Coast Guard certified, sternwheeler M/V STARLITE PRINCESS was recently launched and delivered by Patti Shipyard, Pensacola, Florida. The 85’ X 30’ vessel was designed by DeJong & Lebet, Inc., and is the sixth passenger vessel delivered in 1986, by the Jacksonville, Florida, Naval Architecture firm with a total passenger capacity for six vessels of 2950. The STARLITE PRINCESS is scheduled to begin Dinner-Cruise service out of  Clearwater, Florida/Tampa Bay Area in early December.

A trip on the STARLITE PRINCESS is a step back in time to the days of Mark Twain, when paddle wheelers dominated American waterways. The interior of the vessel features antique-design wallpaper, brass light fixtures, chandeliers, and ceiling fans. Wood trim work in the deckhouses, and dome shaped windows add to the interior to create a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the late nineteenth century.

The STARLITE PRINCESS is powered by a pair of Cummins NTA-855 diesel engines, each driving 140 kW generators on one end and a pair of Rexroth hydraulic pumps through a Funk pump drive on the other end. The hydraulic pumps drive 16 foot diameter port and starboard paddlewheels through Hagg]unds Viking Series hydraulic motors.

The most noteworthy feature of the hydraulic drive system is that it allows the operator the option of running the vessel on one engine with the other engine shut down, providing half speed to both paddlewheels, while still providing full electrical power of 140 kW. When full speed is desired, both engines are on-line, providing maximum paddlewheel RPM’s. The hydraulic drive system components were furnished by Custom Hydraulics of Gretna, Louisiana, who also furnished the hydraulic steering system and air controls.

The main engines are mounted on Korfund vibration isolators, and feature a wet exhaust through the side of the hull, with Verna—Lift fiberglass mufflers, furnished by Vernatone. These features combined with significant amounts of engine room insulation, were designed into the vessel by DeJong & Lebet, Inc. in order to minimize the noise level in the deckhouse dining areas.

The STARLITE PRINCESS carries a United States Coast Guard stability letter for 400 passengers on partially protected waters/Lakes, Bays and Sounds. She can seat 230 passengers for dinner in Main and Balcony Deck, and Second Deck lounges, all fully heated and air conditioned. The lounges also feature two dance floors, a raised bandstand, and large cut-out in the Second Deck over the Main Deck dance floor. This cut—out can be closed off to allow separate functions to run concurrently, while maintaining full access to the rest of the vessel.

The STARLITE PRINCESS has a full service commercial galley located below the Balcony Deck, including a 6 X 6 walk-in refrigerator. A 6 X 8’ walk-in freezer is located in the storeroom just forward of the galley. The refrigerator, freezer, a 600 lb. ice machine and the Main Deck air conditioners are all keel—cooled with Johnson spiral tube coolers mounted to the hull side.

Another novel feature of the STARLITE PRINCESS are the two forward and one aft mooring spuds. These spuds consist of a pipe inside another pipe, with the spud (inner pipe) suspended from a winch on top of the well (outer pipe). The spuds are used where docking facilities are inadequate or non-existent. When the spuds are lowered and dig into the bottom, the vessel essentially becomes its own floating dock, and can then lower its boarding ramp, or "stage", to allow passengers to board from the shore. Any beach, seawall, levee, bulkhead, small dock, etc. becomes accessible to the STARLITE PRINCESS, providing enough water depth for the hull is available.

Principal Characteristics of the STARLITE PRINCESS are as follows:

Length: (hull)   84’—O"

(with paddlewheel)  102—0"

(with stage)  128—6"

Beam:  30’-O"

Depth (amidships): 6'-6"

Draft (loaded): 4'-4"

Passengers: 400

Fuel Oil: 2,600 gallons

Potable Water:  2,200 gallons

Sewage:  1,300 gallons

Speed:  7½ knots

Principal Suppliers for the STARLITE PRINCESS are as follows:

Designer: DeJong & Lebet, Inc.

Builder:  Patti Shipyard, Inc.

Engines:  Cummins — Alabama

Hydraulics and Steering: Custom Hydraulics

Hydraulic Pumps: Rexroth

Pump Drive: Funk Manufacturers

Hydraulic Motors: Hagglunds

Keel Coolers: Johnson Rubber

Main Deck Windows: Pacific Marine Industries

Refrigeration: Serveco, Pensacola

HVAC: Serveco, Pensacola

Toilets: Mi crophor

Bilge Pump: MP/Flomax

Fire Pump: Crown

Sewage Pump: Scot Marine

HVAC and Refrigeration Pumps:

Water Pressure System: Myers

Spud Winches:  Beebe Brothers

Doors:  Dean Steel

Mufflers:  Verna tone

The vessel also features a main deck lounge which does not have the forest of vertical stanchions found on all other dinner cruise vessels. DeJong & Lebet, Inc. designed special extra strong overhead beams to carry the above deck loads without stanchions, creating a wide—open, uncluttered space.

A great deal of credit for the innovative design features of this vessel goes to the Owner, Phil Henderson1 Jr, of Anderson Bay Cruises. Mr. Henderson worked very closely with DeJong & Lebet, Inc. to incorporate his ideas for a truly unique dinner cruise vessel into the design.

River cruise a fun dinner excursion

A three-hour cruise along the Halifax River on the StarLite Princess paddle-wheel boat was a fun excursion for Staff Writer Audrey Parente and former News-Journal copy editor Laurence Bennett. Dinner on the cruise was ala carte and cost for the meal was not part of the resident-discounted $18.29 per person fare for the boat ride.

What was the place like?

The wooden dance floor, a guitar and lounge singer act, the shoreline scenery rolling by from the air-conditioned dining room of the boat made for a very pleasant little cruise. It rained for a part of the time, but when the rain quit, strolling the upper deck and promenade provided an interesting evening view of Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Daytona Beach Shores and all those mansions and condos along the way.

This cruise line is going to modernize its iconic paddlewheel ships

Ashley Kosciolek

American Cruise Lines will renovate its four classic river paddlewheel ships to bring them more in line with the brand's modern river vessels following the successful debut of new ship American Melody in August. The four vessels will also be renamed.

"American Melody's extraordinary reception, particularly by our loyalty program members, has inspired us to bring the same new aesthetic to our entire paddlewheel fleet," said Charles B. Robertson, president and CEO of American Cruise Lines , in a press release.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

For more cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter.

During a press conference at Seatrade Cruise Global, the cruise industry's annual conference, which is taking place this week in Miami, Robertson said American Pride will retain its name, but Queen of the Mississippi, Queen of the West and America will be renamed American Heritage, American West and American Splendor, respectively.

"With the design package, we're also going to rename the boats," Robertson said. "They're coming into the new standard that we want the fleet to be in, and so they should have American names that match the fleet and align with it.... And so, with that, we'll have a completely American fleet of ships that all share the same name, same brand and same design aesthetic. That will all go into effect for next year."

Additionally, the ships -- all of which are currently sailing with passengers onboard -- will receive refreshed interiors to match those found on ACL's modern river ships, boasting designs by Miami-based Studio DADO, which focus on modern elegance. Dining rooms, lounges and cabins will all receive updated decor, carpeting, furniture, linens and color schemes.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

The vessels will enter dry-dock at the line's own shipyard in Maryland on a staggered basis, starting in November, with the upgrades slated for completion in March of 2022.

ACL's two Mississippi River paddlewheelers, American Splendor and American Heritage, will focus on music, ranging from jazz and blues to country and rock 'n' roll, as well as celebrated literary figures, such as Mark Twain. The line's two Columbia and Snake River paddlewheelers, American Pride and American West, will feature Western and Native American themes.

American Cruise Lines plans to begin building two new ships each year as part of a six-part series. That will bring the total number of ships in the fleet to 15, with American Symphony and American Serenade debuting in 2022.

At present, the line has 13 vessels sailing in 31 states on both coasts. They include four paddlewheelers spread among the Mississippi, Colombia and Snake Rivers; modern riverboats plying the Colombia and Snake rivers; and coastal ships that sail along the east and northwest coasts and in Alaska.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

Currently, the line is requiring that all passengers be antigen tested at the pier before they're allowed to board, but Robertson said some states have further requirements, such as PCR testing in Washington. If anyone onboard tests positive for COVID-19, they will quarantine onboard.

"It is a challenge to find American mariners to serve onboard," Robertson said, when asked if the line is having trouble recruiting U.S. workers. He explained that, although the line is required by law to hire American crew and officers, it's also a large part of the heritage on which the company was founded.

Bring your own drinks and take a seat to relax and enjoy the spectacular outback colours. A $20 supplement will go to the restoration fund.

Thomson River sunset

About this experience

Outback Pioneers’ sunset cruise was the original Thomson River Cruise and is still the favourite with its historic ‘Thomson Belle’ paddlewheeler or ‘Thomson Princess’ riverboat and its traditional riverbank entertainment, including a stockmen’s dinner around the campfire.

As the sun goes down, the river is a peaceful environment of reflections and colour – perfect for photos. Then step ashore at our riverbank site and gather around the crackling fire for tales and bush poetry. Watch Starlight’s Spectacular Sound & Light Picture Show featuring our exclusive movie about the adventures of Captain Starlight (aka Harry Redford).

The 3pm cruise (available select dates from June) is a leisurely experience with an additional hour to watch the sunset from the deck of the restored Pride of the Murray paddlewheeler on the riverbank.

From our guests

What a fantastic experience! The river cruise was lovely, we were lucky to see a sunset. The dinner by the campfire is great. They offer alternative meals (order when you book) and I had a vegetable stew. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere, the entertainment and the food couldn’t be faulted. Would highly recommend this experience.

I’m old, grumpy and hard to impress, but these folks went the extra mile and really impressed me. The river cruise across sunset is amazing and unexpectedly beautiful in that environment. Our skipper really made us feel a part of the land…The dinner, the yarns, songs and poetry were down to earth and really entertaining. This would be one of the few experiences I would be looking to do again.

From collection at your accommodation everything is top class. A fantastic hour on the Thompson River, finishing at sunset bend where nature shows her finest. Then a marvellous dinner and show where patrons of all ages enjoyed good food and fabulous entertainment and left on a high.

Book your experience

The 3pm cruise (from June) includes an hour aboard the Pride of the Murray on the riverbank to relax and enjoy the sunset from up high on her deck. (BYO drinks.) You then join guests from the later cruise for the stockman’s campfire dinner and entertainment. There is a $20 supplement, which goes to the Pride of the Murray restoration fund. Reasonable mobility is needed for a short walk and stairs to the deck.

The 3pm cruise is available from 4 June 2024 onwards – on demand

You are booking the 3pm cruise which includes sunset viewing on the Pride of the Murray. The $20 supplement goes to the Pride of the Murray Restoration Fund. The experience is approximately 5.5 hours.

The boat you travel on depends on availability. You can tell which boat you are booked on from the time in the booking window. If the time is 3pm, 4.30pm or 4.45pm, you will be boarding the Thomson Belle paddlewheeler. If the time is 3.15pm, 4.31pm or 4.46pm you will be boarding the Thomson Princess Riverboat. This time will also be shown in your booking confirmation. Please call our reservations crew if you are not sure or have a special request (we may have received a cancellation or we can suggest an alternative day). The 3pm cruise includes time to view the sunset from the Pride of the Murray deck on the riverbank, if you are interested in this iconic boat. Note: the Pride of the Murray is no longer available as a passenger vessel for cruises.

Please give our reservation crew a call on 07 4658 1776 if there is no availability online and we’ll happily put you on a waitlist.

Yes, this tour picks up from the major Longreach town and Ilfracombe Road accommodation and tourist parks. Select your accommodation when booking online or tell our booking crew.

Simply select your accommodation when you book online or tell us where you are staying when you make a reservation by phone. If you haven’t chosen your accommodation yet, you can let us know later by phone or email – at least 12 hours in advance, please.

There are options on the online booking form to request vegetarian, vegan and other special diets. You can also tell us when you make a phone reservation. We need to know at least 24 hours in advance of the experience departure to arrange special dietary meals.

We start our pick ups around Longreach town from 4.30pm and drop you back at the end of the evening (around 9.00pm). The afternoon cruise picks up at 3.00pm and also drops back around 9.00pm.

We’re not formal around here and the winter evenings can be cold so definitely bring a jumper and jacket.

The boat cruise is approximately 1-hour and is followed by a stockman's dinner and entertainment at the river camp. The 3pm cruise has an additional hour for sunset viewing from the Pride of the Murray deck and allows plenty of time for the short walk to and from the Pride’s riverbank location.

We have soft drinks to buy on board but you need to BYO alcohol. Support our local bottle shop and enjoy a good range at great prices! We have drink coolers for sale at The Station Store if you do not have your own.

There is a ramp onto the Thomson Belle and Thomson Princess. At the moment, the Pride of the Murray deck is only accessible by stairs, and reasonable fitness is needed for the 150 metre walk to the Pride of the Murray. We also have accessible toilets on the river bank.

For safety reasons and as most of our experiences include other animals, we do not allow dogs (except trained and registered assistance dogs). If you need dog minding, Longreach Veterinary Services can help.

"Princess' to paddle across bay

  • G.G. RIGSBY

The Starlite Princess excursion boat will move in mid-July from Hamlin's Landing in Indian Rocks Beach to Tampa, where it will make four cruises a day.

The 100-foot paddle-wheel boat will offer two- and three-hour cruises, with lunch and dinner, and will cater to visitors to the Tampa Convention Center and Florida Aquarium as well as local residents.

"It's absolutely fantastic for the whole Garrison Seaport project," said Valerie Pastore, spokeswoman for the Tampa Port Authority.

Folks in Indian Rocks Beach didn't react so kindly. "I really hate to see it go," said Mayor Bob DiNicola. "It brings a lot of people down here to our beach."

"I think it's been an asset to the property," said Steve Cooper, vice president of operations for Decade Properties in Brookfield, Wis., which owns Hamlin's Landing. "We wouldn't have asked him to leave."

Starlite Princess owner Phil Henderson said the boat will stay in Tampa only until a new, 130-foot boat costing from $1.5-million to $3-million can be built to replace it. The new boat will have a decorative paddle wheel and will require about 55 employees to operate, he said.

Henderson said when the replacement boat is in service in about a year, the Starlite Princess will return to Pinellas County. He said he isn't sure if it will return to Hamlin's Landing.

"Pinellas County is our home," said Henderson, whose Florida West Coast Cruises also operates the Admiral dinner boat from Clearwater Beach and the Clearwater and Caladesi ferries.

The Starlite Princess, which was built especially for Hamlin's Landing, began operating there in November 1986.

When it was first created, Hamlin's Landing "was going to be the retail focal point for central Pinellas County on the Intracoastal Waterway," Henderson said. Now, "It's not what it was originally intended for."

Cooper said besides the berth for the Starlite Princess, the development now has one restaurant _ the former Melons that is now Indian Rocks Shrimp Company _ some attorney's offices and a 42-unit hotel.

The company is talking with city officials about converting some empty retail and office space in the complex into hotel space, Cooper said.

Hamlin's Landing had financial troubles and was bought by the Resolution Trust Corporation in April 1992. Decade Properties bought it in December 1993.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

starlite princess paddlewheel riverboat

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.

Starlite Diner

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

I sill go here all the time, in fact they've now got about 6 or 7 around town. Do not matter where you go it is always the same. On Sundays they have entertainment for the kids, our little one loves the bouncy castle. They... also do a great little kids menu which seems to be a real hit. More

Seems every time i'm in Moscow I stop by here. Whether it's 2pm or 2am the Starlite Diner is always open. Food is well...of the 'diner' variety, but it's good and reasonably priced (considering you're in Moscow). Atmosphere is cool, got the whole American thing... going on. So if you're looking for refuge from your dorm buddies or just looking for a quick burger and shake then this is the place to be :) More

Starlite Diner is styled after American diners, and is quite nice inside, Location (near Pushkinskaya/Tverskaya metro station) and moderate prices make it great for casual eatings or meetings with friends. Burgers are tasty - these are specialty; and like 60% of all items in menu... are different sandwiches and burgers. I have dined 8 times at this place during the last 3 years. Food quality was on same expected level during all visits, service was OK, too (no wonders, but no terrible blunders either). More

went here for a quick snack, they always have sports on and they have a section , if you would like to smoke shisha, the food came and i was very impressed that i went back another day to order something else off the menu,... as i understand you cannot go wrong with anything you order, everything is very tasty, and the deserts are very nice too More

My girlfriend and I have been visiting this restaurant for quite some time. We always make a night of it there, enjoying their cocktails. The menu is quite large and includes most dishes you would expect in any American diner. There are lots of burgers,... philly cheese steaks, wraps, nachos etc. Most people will know that eating out in Moscow is not cheap. Starlite though, is very reasonable. On average a main course will set you back between £10-15. Finally, the decor and ambiance is always excellent. My favourite place to eat in Moscow! More

We travelled for an hour when we could have popped over for a meal at a local restaurant, but the trip was all worthwhile as the burgers are great, well cooked and perfectly served, no soggy chips and a choice of rare, medium or well... cooked burgers, something you will surely not get at McDonalds! More

Local food had a wonderful effect to american casual dining. Bathrooms in Starlite in th Kremlin Mosovat Park is absolutelly great. No doub, there is no competition in Moscow.

Have been coming to this place for many years. Always very tasty (cholesterol - don’t ask!). Great burgers and great staff. Highly recommended!

All restaurants of this chain are equally good and are very popular for 20 years already. Especially amongst expats. Open 24-7. The only place I'm loyal to since last century.

I haven't visit this place during two years. I'd like to write, the restaurant become be well enough. Upgrade menu, service, atmosphere is well. Everyone friendly and kind, waitress smiling. Burger tasty. I'd like recommend this place. If you wanna go to American culture and... atmosphere. More

This is the most authentic American dining experience you can have outside of the U.S, it has all the traditional meals, shakes and deserts you would ever want all at a reasonable price.

A very average dining experience in a restaurant that isn't very English language friendly. Although not really costly, it doesn't offer much more in taste than a Burger King menu. Just very average.

Huge portions of tasty burghers, good price. A lot of choices, kind waiters. It seems like a real drive in.

We went for lunch on our recent trip to Moscow as I'd seen some good reviews. Turns out there are a couple of branches around town so actually I'd been looking at the wrong branch! Anyway, we ordered two milkshakes (strawberry and Oreo cappucino) which... were thick and very delicious followed by a "The Really Big Shawn Burger" for my boyfriend and Chicken Fajitas and cheesy chips for me. Apparently the burger was delicious and it sure looked amazing however my Fajitas and fries were a real disappointment. The tortillas and accompaniments were bought out first and left for ages before the mains actually arrived which meant my tortillas were cold. The fajitas were watery and as for the cheese on my chips............it was that foul squeezy liquid cheese which I should have realised would be going to an American style diner. That said the service was great and their menus are both in English and Russian, so in the event your waiter/waitress don't understand, you can use the internationally recognised pointing method. Liked the diner itself, just wouldn't recommend the fajitas or cheesy chips! More

A real treat - I was in need of a meat fix for dinner and opted for the breakfast special (served all day) of steak/eggs/fried onions/fried potatoes. Hits the spot...perfectly. The puddings looked great but to be honest the main course portion was large enough!... Would recommend for a quick, very tasty dinner. More
