Welcome to Pass Christian Yacht Club, "the birthplace of yachting in the South". PCYC is located at the Southern end of Market Street in Pass Christian. The superb location offers the best views of sunsets, moon rises and the Gulf of Mexico of any yacht club on the Coast.
Visitor information. Location: Pass Christian Yacht Club is located at 120 Market Street at the southeast corner of the old harbor. Our 10,000-square foot facility features a large restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the gulf waters.
The process of becoming a member of the Pass Christian Yacht Club involves the following: A prospective member must complete a written application for all classes of membership. He or she must be nominated as a candidate by four (4) stockholding members of the PCYC.
Since the records of the Southern Yacht Club trace its history back to the club’s founding in the Pass in the 1849, SYC is the second oldest yacht club in the United States, next to the venerable New York Yacht Club can document an earlier founding date.
Southern Yacht Club — SYC. The Southern Yacht Club of New Orleans was formed from members of the original Pass Christian club. The first SYC clubhouse built in 1887 is shown below. Pass Christian Yacht Club — PCYC. Former Mayor Sam Heaslip continued this sport in the Pass.

The Pass Christian Yacht Club, situated on the southern most piece of land in the city, bore the full brunt of the wind and the water. Since this is the "birthplace of yachting in the South" and the membership survived and was rebuilt after Hurricanes Betsy and Camille, the membership was not going to let Katrina do it in.
