New Boat - is FISHERMAN'S REEF AR-460 good?

Hey everyone, glad I found this forum....I have a new 22' Sea Hunt being delivered in 2 weeks, and am planning a "break in" fishing trip weekend....I fish out of Ocean Isle / Little River Inlet....and there are a few nearshore reefs....can anyone maybe a good one that is within 3-5 miles of shallotte inlet or little river inlet....AR-460 looks like it would be a decent reef, was wondering if anyone can give some advice or suggestions.... looking to catch kings...live bait trolling....maybe bottom fish later in the day, etc.... thanks for any suggestions
welcome to the site, i don't fish down that way so I'm not much help. Use the search function in the top toolbar and search for AR460. I have a 20' Sea Pro so were about the same size, it's a great all-around boat that will take you out to the deep blue on good days while still letting you fish the sounds and rivers when the weather isn't so nice. I love mine ,you can see it in my avatar. Post some pics of her if you don't mind, best of luck and tight lines!
Welcome to the site and congrats on the boat. Like Chris, we mainly fish from MBI to MHC so I'm not much help either. There are plenty of reefs out there. I look forward to your reports.
go out lockwood folley inlet and fish yaupon reef and mcglammery reefthey are 3 and 5 miles off the beach but around 7 from the inlet. if the seas kick up the cape fear is closer to go in and then run the icw. good for kings and great flounder this time of year. good luck.
also if you had rather go out shallotte or little river the general sherman is close in and good fishing also.
hey there, I fished 460 last week on a friends boat. We had no luck except one small shark. I doubt I will fish there again.

Police investigating after body recovered from dan river.

DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Police Department is investigating after the body of a Danville man was recovered from the Dan River Thursday evening.
Police said the body of 68-year-old Fred Floyd was pulled from the river in the area behind Carrington Pavilion.

We’re told Floyd was tubing with others in the river when he got out of their sight. They found him in the water, unconscious and not breathing.
According to authorities, at 6:05 p.m., police and EMS responded to the scene, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation is ongoing.
