Motor yacht Argyll sold
The 46.63 metre motor yacht Argyll , listed for sale by Kevin Merrigan and Kristen Klein at Northrop & Johnson , has been sold with Mack Carroll at Atlantic Yacht & Ship introducing the buyer.
Designed by Luiz De Basto , she was built in aluminium by North American Yachts and Shipbuilders to ABS class and delivered in 2002 to a disabled client and accordingly has wheelchair access throughout. An interior by Ralph Lauren Home uses African makore mahogany and Tuscan marble to accommodate 10 guests in five cabins consisting of a bridge deck master suite with its own deck, two VIP suites and three twins, all with entertainment centres and en suite bathroom facilities. In addition, there are quarters for 10 crew.
The main saloon is panelled in rich mahogany and offers comfortable furniture, a built in bar, games table and an entertainment centre including a satellite television screen and there is a formal dining area forward. More informal dining is available in the galley where the chef is happy to supply casual snacks all day.
Relaxed al fresco meals are offered on the aft deck equipped with chairs, built in seating and a wet bar while up on the sun deck is an area forward fully enclosed by glazing giving 270 degree views and aft is a sunbathing area with a Jacuzzi and sun loungers.
Further features include an elevator to all decks, wide corridors and a library aft of the pilot house with a 62 inch flatscreen television. Twin Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 13 knots and she is fitted with zero speed stabilisers.
Argyll was asking $11,900,000.

Motor yacht FOCUS is a 46 meter luxury charter yacht launched by North American Yachts and Shipbuilders in 2002 with Naval Architecture by Sergio Cutolo and interior design by Ralph Lauren. She offers luxury accommodation for up to 10 yacht charter guests in 5 cabins and is available in the Caribbean and New England.
Featuring a traditional wood Ralph Lauren interior, this luxury motor yacht also offers a large lift, individually controlled air conditioning, stabilizers at anchor and internet in all staterooms and throughout the yacht.
FOCUS (ex ARGYLL) boasts an impressive master suite on the main upper deck. It has a walk around king sized bed and entertainment center with TV/DVD/individual satellite receiver worldwide as well as an office desk. The en-suite facilities feature “HIS” bathroom with single sink, stall shower and head, and “HERS” bathroom with a single sink, stall shower, bidet and head - all wheel chair accessible. The master suite also features a private aft deck for al fresco dining with hi-lo table, and full wet bar. Mesh shades maximize the privacy on both sides.
Yacht ARGYLL Main Deck: Features a side foyer, galley with bar stool seating, walk around decks and access to a private formal dining room for 10 guests. The yacht’s main salon in decorated in all in mahogany wood and offers a bar, games table, entertainment center with an individual satellite receiver. The aft deck is completely covered and has mesh shades to maximise sun protection. There is al fresco dining for 10 charter guests with a full wet bar and walk around Portuguese decks to a cushioned seating area on her bow. There is also access to a swimming platform with rails as well as electronic ramp access for a wheelchair.
Her Upper Deck: There is a library aft of Pilothouse with 62” Flat screen a decorative fireplace. A sliding mahogany partition gives option of creating privacy in library or opens onto pilothouse. Also there is an elevator for wheelchair accessible.
Sky Deck & Sun Deck: The yacht has a sky lounge which is completely enclosed and boasts a panoramic view and full entertainment center. There is also a treadmill and light weights for exercise and a wet bar. She has a sunny and open sundeck with a Spa Pool Pool and deck chairs, outside shower, wet bar and ice-maker.

Port Twin Stateroom: Twin beds, with en-suite facilities featuring shower. Entertainment center with TV/DVD/individual satellite receiver. Starboard Twin Stateroom: Twin beds, with en-suite facilities featuring bath tub with shower overhead. Entertainment center with TV/DVD/individual satellite receiver.

Argyll’s interior layout sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, including a master suite, She is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. This impressive yacht comes complete with a modern stabilization system to reduce roll motion even during rough seas, and the yacht also has ‘at anchor stabilizers’ to keep things smooth even at anchor/zero speed.

Motor yacht Argyll is a bright and stylish superyacht offering luxurious charters in the Caribbean. Built in 2002 by North American Yachts, she was built as the first wheel chair accessible yacht and has an interior elevator to all decks, wide hallways and doorways. The 46m sleeps 10 guests in five cabins and boasts nine professional crew.
Sporting traditional wood and swathed in bright blues, creams, reds and stunning patterns, the interior décor of Argyll is warm, welcoming and nothing but first-class comfort. The main salon is a top spot for sociable entertainment with its bar, games table, entertainment centre and plush lounges. Guests can dine in the formal dining room for 10 or head outside to the covered aft deck with al fresco dining for 10, wet bar, and cushioned seating area.
The master suite onboard Argyll is particularly impressive above on the upper deck and provides an unsurpassed place for privacy and relaxation. For the rest of the guests however, the scenic deck also houses a library and flat screen TV in the Pilothouse.
Crowning the luxury vessel is the sun deck and fully-equipped skylounge. Sun-worshippers will adore the Jacuzzi pool, deck chairs, wet bar, and vast sunbathing space on the sun deck, while an exercise area can also be found on deck.
Argyll has a maximum speed of 16 knots and cruises comfortably at 12 knots. Featuring a dedicated crew of nine, she is an excellent charter yacht for luxury vacations.

Designed by Olin Stephens to build on the success of STORMY WEATHER and DORADE this yacht has a successful race record in her own right and is known to been one of her designer\'s favourites. Perhaps the same could be said of Ed Burnett, whose design skills and empathy for this boat have been a continuous thread throughout her restoration. ARGYLL’s potential to win on the classic race circuit is almost as exciting as the balance of her Olin Stephens lines........breathtakingly beautiful. The rebuild and refit work is of the very highest standard. The hull and deck work was carried out by Blake Brothers in Portishead, with the interior, systems and rig completed by MB Yachts Ltd at Shillingstone in Dorset. Considerable attention has been paid to ensure that ARGYLL retains her original character, with small modifications made to enhance her practicality as a cruising yacht. Where possible, original deck gear has been reinstalled. Where this was missing or required replacement however, new items have been designed and machined in keeping with the original. Powered deck gear is fitted to ease handling when the vessel is not racing but otherwise as a general rule the original deck layout has been retained. Her present owner’s affection for her inherent qualities have inspired him to even greater efforts in bringing her up to a standard of finish which frankly places ARGYLL second to none. Not all pictures adequately reflect them and they are to be augmented shortly ConstructionHull and deck structure recently rebuilt to the highest standards. The hull planking is of double planked carvel mahogany / cedar on laminated frames and the deck laid with traditional teak. Deck joinery is mahogany. Lead ballast keel approx 8,100 kg. AccommodationThe layout of the interior accommodation remains similar to the original configuration but adjustments have been made bearing in mind the expectations of the modern yachtsman. The galley (originally forward) has been moved aft, with a second heads compartment fitted forward. The original aft head has become ensuite to the aft cabin. As now laid out, berths are provided for six people, all of which are suitable for seagoing and are fitted with lee cloths. A further two crew may be accommodated in pipe cots in the fore peak if required. The interior finish; white painted bulkheads with varnished mahogany joinery and trim in classic style is very much in keeping with the vessel. The accommodation from aft includes. Aft cabin and head Single berths port & starboard. Hanging lockers, dresser aft. Drawers / stowage under berths. Skylight in coach roof above. Head to port accessible from aft cabin only with electric flush WC, basin and shower. Galley (to starboard) Gimballed cooker (Force 10 Marine gas oven with 3 burner hob). Top loading refrigerator with custom s/s stacking system. Double s/s sink. Worktops have lockers and drawers below and outboard. Stainless steel fresh food drawers and fold out bill below sink. Chart table (to port) Full size outboard facing chart table with chart drawer, book shelf and stowage under. Switches and instruments outboard. Main switch board on aft bulkhead. Main saloon - Settee berths (pull out for larger bunk area) and pilot berths port & starboard. Lockers and stowages. Skylight above. Step up to raised floor level under coach roof top. Period solid fuel burner fitted by mast step. Forward head - Manual WC, basin and shower. Skylight above. Access from forepeak or main saloon. Forepeak - 2 pipe cots, stowage for gear and sails, chain locker. Access by forward head or fore hatch. Commissioned by William T Moore who sailed and raced her for 25 years until his death. Won the Newport – Bermuda Race outright in 1950. More recently owned by the Welsh comedian/actor Griff Rhys Jones and raced competitively in the Mediterranean classic yacht regattas from 2010 onwards.
