International Six Meter racing yacht built to Rule 2.
Designed by Johan Anker and built by Anker and Jensen in 1931.
She was built as the personal yacht of Johan Anker and in her he won the Scandinavian Gold Cup in Gothenburg in 1931. In 1932 she was sold to the great helmsman Magnus Konow who won the Gold Cup and the One Ton Cup. In 1933 she was sold to the UK and was converted for cruising around 1935 and spent much of her time after this on the Hamble.
In 2003 she was purchased by a well known member of the meter boat community, rebuilt and raced successfully at various events around Europe.
Purchased by the current owner in 2019 she then went through a major refit involving serious structural repairs and improvements, a complete new rig and all new systems. Clare Lallows yard on the Isle of Wight, together with an experienced yacht surveyor, completed a structural refit including new planking, frames and rudder replacement.
The yacht is now offered in full racing trim, optimised to a very high level and fully equipped for racing in the 6 meter series.
Top professionals have been engaged at all stages of the design and build to ensure the hull, rig and systems are as good as they could possibly be. The rig was designed in conjunction with various people including Tim Dean Consultancy Ltd.
Now under UK flag, this 6mR yacht is sailing under the sail number GBR31. Raced at the 2023 Worlds in Cowes and finished 11 th overall.
Offered for sale individually, but could be bought as part of a pair in conjunction with Abu. The systems, rigs and racing set up are identical on each boat making for exciting sailing as part of a team.

Planked in mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Sawn timber floors across the centreline
Titanium ring frame and new mahogany mast step recently fitted to spread the loads of the rig evenly and stiffen the hull.
Swept quarter sawn spruce deck screw fastened to douglas fir deck beams
Mahogany king plank and covering boards.
Twin cockpits with mahogany coamings.
The rig design was completed with the help of Tim Dean Consultancy Ltd to produce a high performance efficient rig.
The complete rig was delivered in 2022 and first sailed in September 2022.
Critical load data from the rig fed into the onboard system with various read out screens around the boat to give the crew real time information while racing. Data relayed via wifi to chase boat.
Fractional Bermudan sloop rig. Alloy mast and boom by Allspars, 2022. Full spec of spars available on request.
Stainless steel rod standing rigging. All rigging 2022, forestay new 2023.
2 x Harken Performa 50 and 2 x Harken Performa 46 2 speed self tailing winches below decks for line controls, set on newly fitted plywood structures especially designed for supreme crew ergonomics.

| Designed by Gustav Estlander in 1926, Räven was the fastest boat of the 1926 Gold Cup but was stripped of her title when it was discovered that some of her drawings had been executed while Estlander, who ran for Sweden, still had Finnish nationality. In 1928/1929 she is owned by William Vett, home port Copenhagen. In 1929, she is brought to Italy to enter in various regattas. Genoa Jib (the well known book on the leading regattas of the first 50 years of the XX century, page 54) remembers that she arrived second in the Coppa Genova during the 1929 Genoa International Sailing Week (winner Twins II); she is again second, behind the Danish Dana in the Coppa Unione. | Bambi is a very competitive 6mR yacht in excellent racing condition. The boat was designed by Knud H. Reimers and built in Zurich, Switzerland in 1946. Bambi has previously sailed on Lake Geneva with a solid racing record. Having been bought to Finland in 2002 she underwent a renovation as well as a modernization of the running rig and remains in excellent racing condition. Bambi has since demonstrated her competitive potential. Bambi participated in the World Cup in Sweden in 2005 finishing 9th overall taking one 1st in the races. About this James McGruer int. 6mRA 1948 James McGruer design, near sister to Noa and GBR 48 Caprice, she was acquired from Tobermory on Lake Huron, in June 2004 by a Vancouver syndicate headed by Craig Murray. She represented Great Britain in the 1948 Olympics. After being sunk by another six in the early 90’s at the last 6 meter event to take place on Lake Ontario, she languished in a boatyard and was later purchased at auction in a lien dispute. She was restored and renamed “Phoenix”, then “Renaissance.” Johan was reassembled just in time to compete in the 2004 North Americans in Vancouver in the Summer of 2004, her first six meter event since her unfortunate sinking. Herr current owner bought Johan in 2011 in Vancouver and started a major refit of 8 years. Johan of Rhu is now in ready to sail condition and can be inspected on short notice. With 6mR “JOY” you do not have to worry who is next to you at the starting line.  With current set-up and top condition 6mR “JOY” has proven been fast and competitive. Several regatta wins and even more podium positions in the large and competitive Finnish Six Meter fleet in the last ten years. For the World Cup 2019 in Hanko 6mR “JOY” got the new mast and the complete new set of Grand Prix quality DOYLE Stratis sails. Modeling of sails, rig and boat were done with most modern design programs in Doyle in New Zealand. In the hands of even more competitive crew the result could have been even better than 8 th out of 32 boats. This summer 2023 6mR “JOY” came back from Cinderella’s four years dream and participated in the Finnish Championships. The final position was 6th out of 14 boats in the tough Finnish 6mR fleet. She was “Breathed on” by Ben Lexcen in 1985, including the fitting of an Australia type keel and trim tab, plus a number of other modifications to increase her sail area within the Rule. In 2006 she has undergone a further upgrade, with the replacement of the Lexcen wings with a full 2006 full span Howlett wings and a 2006 Howlett full-depth rudder, together with a comprehensive update of her instrumentation, hydraulics, etc. The boat has a light blue hull (pictures with the blue hull are older pictures) and a new teak deck 2008.
