Lovely Atmosphere in the hotel, staff very friendly and good value for money.

We didn't have breakfast at the Inn but I have been there before with a bus group and breakfast was very good. I just love the whole atmosphere of the Inn. It's quaint. I loved the phone in my room.....old fashioned and it actually had a dial tone.

Breakfast was delicious. It was nice having a restaurant in the hotel.

It was very clean and you had lots of room. And the staff was very friendly.

The place was not done justice by the outside. More beautiful inside. Had breakfast and dinner both were great. Breakfast staff was under staffed but they did a fabulous job! The dinner with piano music and see along (at least our crowd did) was very uplifting and enjoyable. We wished we had spent more than one night but gives us excuse to come back. Loved the pool & hot tub hours for adults and later hours, it was great.

Everyone was incredibly friendly. Staff was wonderful. Hotel was so cute and cozy and very accommodating.

I thought it was very cool looking - felt like I was walking through the Titanic while walking the halls. My 3 year old son loved the playground. The room was spacious and clean. Loved the extra sink outside the bathroom as well. The food in the tavern was DELICIOUS.

Wow this place was fantastic so authentic, great room's lovely bar area, and the staff just couldn't do enough to help, thankyou 😊 😀

Great service, beautiful rooms, very clean and the food was excellent. They had a piano player while we enjoyed our dinner. Above and beyond the chain hotels in every way. Rate was good as well.

Fulton Steamboat Inn

There seems to be a good variety of places to choose from, Becky. Ellie & I have stayed at a few DoubleTrees and enjoyed the experience. We’d probably go for the Marriott, even though the Fulton Steamboat Inn looks like quite something..!

Lancaster does have a great variety of accommodations, Stefan. Although I didn’t mention it in the article, my parents have stayed at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and enjoyed their stay. They had a great view from their room!

What an interesting collection of Lancaster hotels to consider if we head south for a visit. I do find local spots like the Cork Factory Hotel with some interesting history to be great options. I must admit the B&B options were a little less appealing during Covid. I could see us visiting the Cameron Estate Inn many different times to try out different rooms!

With the temperatures rising we are all looking for ways to cool off. Did you know that there are plenty of activities to do along the Susquehanna River? Whether you are a hiker, biker, fisher, or just outdoor enthusiast there is probably an activity for you.

Love to bike? Whether you are a cyclist or weekend cruiser you’re sure to enjoy the Northwest River Trail . This rail trail connects the river towns of Columbia, Marietta, and Bainbridge where you can explore the unique history of each on two wheels. It offers breathtaking views of the river along the way as well as plenty of shade as you roll along. With a wonderful picnic area and information about the County’s riverland region, the Columbia Crossing River Trails Center provides a great starting place for your adventure.

In need of a bike to get rolling on the trails? Check out Let's Roll in Columbia ! Located right on the Northwest River Rail Trail, this local family-owned business specializes in renting, selling, and servicing electric bikes.

If you prefer hiking we recommend a visit to Chickies Rock Park . With two overlooks, visitors can take in the incredible vistas of the Susquehanna River. There are also pavilions, picnic areas, and ball fields available- plan to make a day out of it! Rock climbers can often be seen scaling the rock faces along the trail. You can also head over to Pinnacle Point Overlook , a short walk from the parking area offers stunning views of the Susquehanna.

Another great hiking spot along the river is Tucquan Glen Nature Preserve . Considered one of the most pristine ravines which opens to the Susquehanna River, this preserve is beautiful all year round. In the summer you will be sure to see thickets of wild rhododendron. A stream runs through the park, perfect for creek-stomping.

If you prefer to spend your summer days on the water, the Susquehanna River is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, boating, and fishing . You can either bring your own equipment or rent single or tandem kayaks, paddles, and life vests from Chiques Rock Outfitters . In the chance of bad weather, there are indoor activities along the river as well! Families will love the Turkey Hill Experience where they can learn how the delicious ice cream is made or even create their own flavors in the taste lab! While history buffs can explore all things “time” related at the National Watch and Clock Museum .

Each river town - Columbia, Marietta, and Bainbridge- have their own unique history. You can explore their small shops, restaurants, and antique stores scattered through their historic downtowns. To learn more about these towns visit the Susquehanna Heritage organization. They are a designated National Heritage Area that offers a plethora of local information and are part Pennsylvania’s statewide Heritage Area.

"Dienners is a buffet, a very reasonably priced one at that. They have been a local favorite for many years. Weekends they have cod and fried shrimp in addition to ham,rotisserie chicken, amazing pot roast, as well as a full variety of vegetables and amazing and fluffy fresh mashed potatoes. Homemade dinner rolls and probably 20 plus deserts are available. The lemon meringue pie was great. Every bite of the dinner was outstanding. Drinks are the cheapest I've seen since before Covid. If you are ever in Lancaster PA area stop there and treat yourself. They are closed on Sundays. Go early because there is often times a waiting list."
