CRN Creates 86m Explorer Yacht

  • By Grace Howard
  • Updated: December 16, 2017

CRN, 86m, Yacht

CRN has announced a new 86-meter (282-foot) explorer yacht design in collaboration with British firm Harrison Eidsgaard.

Harrison Eidsgaard is known for its work on superyachts such as Feadship’s 77.7-meter (255-foot) Tango , which was launched in 2011.

The new 86-meter CRN is designed for long-range, adventurous cruising. She has vast stowage space for tenders and water toys, while a forward davit was installed to assist in launching heavier watercraft.

The interior-design a focus was to keep a connection to the water for all onboard. An example of this is found in the master stateroom, where there a terrace runs along the entire deck of the owner’s space. Overall, the interior design will include glazed surfaces and panoramic views to provide an “airy” and comfortable atmosphere no matter what the weather is like outside, according to CRN.

CRN, 86m, Yacht

“Conceived for an owner used to enjoying long voyages with his family all over the world, including in remote locations, this project empowers the concept of ‘exploration’ through areas specifically designed to house water toys and tenders that will allow to discover the most exciting and scenic corners.” CRN

86-metre Explorer Yacht

CRN, the historical Italian shipbuilder and brand, part of the Ferretti Group, specialising in the construction of fully-custom steel and aluminium pleasure vessels between 40 and 100 metres in length, presents its new project, an 86-metre Explorer Yacht designed by Harrison Eidsgaard.

This new innovative and dynamic 86-metre Explorer Yacht embodies CRN’s DNA while also epitomising the cutting-edge style of Harrison Eidsgaard, one of the leading international yachting design firms. The London-based designers have indeed cooperated with CRN to create this vessel, harmonising the fresh style of their brand with the historical heritage, know-how, and craftsmanship of one of the most important shipyards creating iconic fully-custom yachts in Europe. Conceived for an Owner used to enjoying long voyages with his family all over the world, including in remote locations, this project empowers the concept of ‘exploration’ through areas specifically designed to house water toys and tenders that will allow to discover the most exciting and scenic corners, from the coastline to the most secluded bays, all the way to the sea depths. All guest areas, in turn, have been designed to ensure a constant, direct visual contact with the sea. This was the starting point for the design firm, which is vital to understand the various aesthetic and functional solutions that have taken shape during the long, painstaking creation of this new 86-metre Explorer yacht. Conceiving dedicated areas for a large number of specific tenders and water toys as part of a refined exterior design was a real challenge. An example of this is the installation of a forward davit capable of easily lifting, launching and hauling tenders and toys up to 50 tons. The wish to create a functional yacht and to ensure easy operations for the crew strategically drove the design of the yacht’s outer lines too, with an eye to obtaining a layout that would keep the guest living areas separate from the service areas where the crew will be operating. Considering the ‘Explorer’ character of the yacht, the project features airy interior spaces with extensive glazed surfaces in the guest areas, first and foremost in the salons, allowing to enjoy navigation to the fullest regardless of outside weather conditions. Similarly, the interior layout and décor have been conceived to maximise onboard comfort and relaxation, thanks to magnificent panoramic views. It is not by chance that one of the key areas onboard is a spectacular terrace running along the entire Owner’s deck, recreating the atmosphere of an exclusive loft in New York and letting the family enjoy the utmost privacy and intimacy, especially during long-range cruising. “Versatility, functionality, and elegance are the core features of our shipyard’s timeless yachts. Our close cooperation with leading international designers like Harrison Eidsgaard allows us to propose explorer yachts that have always been part of our DNA. Indeed, as early as in the 1980s CRN was a pioneer in the design and construction of an explorer yacht, the first one in international pleasure boating - the F100, designed by Gerhard Gilgenast in 1982. With Harrison Eisdgaard, we now want to go back to those values that have led us to be what we are today. We are really excited about this new cooperation, which has resulted in a very original concept”, declared CRN’s Chief Commercial Officer Stefano De Vivo. “We have developed an explorer yacht capable of ensuring great functionality and ease of use while also boasting stylish exterior lines and spacious areas in direct contact with the sea, so as to meet the future Owners’ passion and love. Unprecedented, state-of-the-art solutions like the ones found onboard this yacht are the result of the long-standing experience and expertise of a historical shipyard like CRN”, declared Harrison Eidsgaard designers. The new 86-metre Explorer Yacht can boast functionality, innovation and dynamism among its main strengths, which go hand in hand with the great comfort of interiors, resulting in unmatched pleasure during navigation and a constant relationship with the sea.

Quattroelle

The 86-meter custom-built superyacht Quattroelle was delivered in 2013. Designed for long-range cruising, she requires fewer stops in port than most vessels of her size during extended voyages. The name, Italian for “four Ls,” expresses what she means to the owner: Love, Life, Liberty and Luxury. She is the first Lürssen yacht designed by Nuvolari & Lenard. The designers, who were responsible for both the interior and the exterior, gave her a sleek profile marked by bold yet refined lines and large spaces. The interior is best described as eclectic contemporary, with a comfortable balance between traditional and ultramodern elements. Her fully custom-crafted decor features a sophisticated combination of wood, stone and bespoke fabrics.

Ferretti Group are delighted to announce the breaking news of the CRN 86-meter Explorer Yacht. Designed by Harrison Eidsgaard , this new, innovative and dynamic 86-meter Explorer Yacht embodies the historical Italian shipbuilder CRN’s DNA. As part of the Ferretti Group, CRN specializes in the construction of fully customised steel and aluminum pleasure vessels between 40 and 100 meters in length.

CRN 86m project explorer yacht

The renowned London based designers Harrison Eidsgaard have created a cutting-edge design together with CRN for the delivery of Explorer. Experts have harmonized a fresh style with historical heritage, finesse and detailed craftsmanship.

Specifically designed and conceived for the owner to enjoy long voyages around the world with his family, the project included exciting water toys and tenders. This will allow the owner, family, and friends to be able to discover even more exotic coastlines, remote locations, secluded bays and sea depths. All guest areas have been purposely designed to ensure constant, visual contact with the sea.

Explorer’s dedicated design firm created the new 86-meter yacht with this in mind throughout the building project. Specialists included specific areas for water toys and tenders as part of a refined design, quite a challenge. One example of this is the installation of a forward davit capable of easy lifting, hauling as well as launching tenders and toys up to 50 tons. The idea was to create a truly functional yacht while ensuring easy operations for the crew. This conception strategically drove the design of the yacht’s outer lines. The aim of the layout was to keep the guest living spaces separate from the vessel’s service areas, where the crew will be performing their onboard duties.

It was important for designers to embody the character of the yacht during the construction project. The result was impressive, airy, interior spaces with extensive glazed feature surfaces in all guest areas. This is paramount in the delightful salons that allow passengers to enjoy voyages to the fullest, regardless of the weather outside. Likewise, the lavish interior layout and décor maximise the onboard comfort and complete relaxation even more so with stunning panoramic views. One of the key features of Explorer is the eye-catching terrace running along the entire owner’s deck. This helps to recreate the atmosphere similar to an exclusive loft in New York, therefore, providing the entire family with the utmost in privacy and intimacy, perfect for long-range cruising.

Elegance, functionality, and versatility are the main core features of our timeless yachts. The close cooperation with our leading international designs like Harrison Eidsgaard helps us create and design prestigious Explorer yachts; they have always been part of our DNA. In fact, as early as in the 1980’s CRN was recognized as a pioneer in the design and construction of an explorer yacht. The first being an international pleasure boating vessel, the F100 was designed by Gerhard Gilgenast in 1982. In conjunction with Harrison Eisdgaard, we now want to return to those creative ideals which have led us to be where we are today. Rest assured, we are very excited about this new cooperation resulting in original concepts, declared CRN’s Chief Commercial Officer Stefano De Vivo.

We are delighted to have developed an explorer yacht capable of unprecedented functionality and ease of use. The vessel boasts stylish exterior lines and spacious areas in direct contact with the sea. We are more than happy that the owner’s passion and love for cruising have been met. Harrison Eidsgaard designers declared state-of-the-art solutions like the ones found onboard this yacht is the direct result of the long-standing expertise and experience of a historical shipyard like CRN.

Among its main strengths, the new 86-meter Explorer yacht boasts innovation, dynamism, and functionality. These features go hand in glove with the sumptuous comfort of the interiors providing unmatched pleasure as well as a luxury during navigation. Guests can expect and enjoy a constant relationship with the sea.

MAN OF STEEL Yacht – Premier $150 M Superyacht

Measuring 86 meters, she is one of the world’s largest yachts.

Previously known as SEVEN SEAS, the name was inspired by the fact Spielberg had seven children. He owned the vessel from her delivery in 2010 through to 2021.

MAN OF STEEL yacht interior

The interior of the MAN OF STEEL yacht includes a fully equipped gym, a spa, a beach club, a movie theatre, a beauty salon, a dance floor, and of course, a glass elevator that connects the different levels of the yacht.

The gym is arguably one of the most impressive parts of this superyacht as it has floor-to-ceiling windows providing great views from one of the upper decks of the vessel.

This allows guests to have a beautiful view of not only the pool below but also the breathtaking scenery this yacht might pass when underway.

The private owners’ deck offers a fantastic state-of-the-art master bedroom with its own dressing room as well as an attached office or study. This suite includes its own private deck area with a sizable jacuzzi perfect for relaxing and drinking a glass of wine under starry skies.

The six additional luxurious suites can accommodate 12 additional guests allowing the MAN OF STEEL to welcome up to 14 guests in total who are tended to by 23 crew members. The MAN OF STEEL interior was designed by Nuvolari & Lenard and Molly Isaksen and is equipped with exquisite furniture made of walnut, teak, and rosewood, accented with natural materials and fabrics.

The design of the yacht interior is simple yet classy, with clean and minimalist spaces. Wooden furnishings can be found in all parts of the vessel, although the interior is not as opulently furnished and decorated as other superyachts in its price category.

Nuvolari & Lenard is a renowned design duo that specializes in traditional yacht design for vessels between 25 and 185 meters in length. Their aim is to redefine beauty while keeping classical elements in mind.

In collaboration with the American interior designer Molly Isaksen, they created a one-of-a-kind fusion of naval architecture, incorporating contemporary and traditional elements in the interior of this beautiful vessel. The MAN OF STEEL offers a 250 square feet semi-covered sundeck, which is located adjacent to the main salon that provides enough space for larger events and celebrations aboard the vessel. A crew of 23 members of staff offers an excellent 5-star service and fulfills every possible wish of the guests onboard the MAN OF STEEL superyacht.

With excellent fine dining capabilities and luxurious amenities, this yacht is ideal for private ownership as well as high-end charter service.

seven-seas-side-shot

Yacht specifications

The MAN OF STEEL has a length of 86 meters (282.15 ft) with a beam of 14.2 meters (46.6 ft) and a draft of 3.91 meters (13 ft).

She was built by Oceana in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands using mainly steel and aluminum which is their specialty. MAN OF STEEL was completed and delivered to Steven Spielberg in 2010. The yacht has her main port in George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, under whose flag she sails and she has been spotted as far south as the port of Puerto Escondido . With a weight of 2.658 tons and an output of 6,984 kW (9,496 hp), the MAN OF STEEL can reach top speeds of 20 knots.

Her maximum range lies at 4,750 nautical miles, which is respectable considering her size.

Yacht exterior

Designed by Azure Naval Architects and styled by Nuvolari & Lenard, the MAN OF STEEL yacht combines exceptional craftsmanship with unique outlines. The hull of the ship is set in an elegant dark blue, while the upper decks were left in the traditional brilliant white that many yachts bear. On the aft deck, you will find an impressive infinity pool with an incredible 4.6 meter (15 ft) glass wall, which doubles as a movie screen if required. The aft has another slightly smaller pool as well as a sizable deck with comfortable seating. This deck can be used as a helipad for smaller aircraft allowing guests to arrive in style. When this area isn’t needed for landing purposes, it can be covered completely by large awnings providing additional shade to guests.

Seven seas drone shot

Toys and equipment

A yacht this size naturally comes with lots of toys and equipment to entertain the guests onboard.

The MAN OF STEEL carries four jet skis, several sea bobs, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling equipment, and much more.

The two tenders onboard the vessel are always ready to take the guests to the mainland or to the nearest secluded beach.

Spielberg purchased them from Hodgdon Yachts, a shipyard based in Maine in the United States after MAN OF STEEL was delivered in 2010.

The larger of the two tenders, the Limo, has space for twelve people with luxurious leather upholstery, flatscreen television, and air conditioning.

When the weather is nice, the roof of the tender can be lifted and opened using hydraulics.

Additional information

In 2013 MAN OF STEEL was overhauled and refitted by Amico & Co, a well-known superyacht repair and design company.

The shipyard is based in Genoa, Italy, and has a 60,000 m² dock and operating area where work on both smaller and larger vessels can be carried out.

These are the Top 10 Largest Sailing Yachts in the World

By Vlad Craciun

Updated on December 3, 2021

In the world of the rich and famous, large, expensive, luxury and yacht are common words which often come together to form what’s probably one of the biggest dreams rich people have: to spend much of their leisure time away at sea on a luxurious superyacht.

Modern or classic looking, with white sails, sleek lines and superb interiors, the yachting world has plenty of options to offer. For some though, a yacht is not really a yacht if it’s not one built for sailing, raising its sails into the winds and thrusting towards the infinite blue horizon.

Now, we’ve done some digging into the sailing realm and came up with the top 10 largest sailing yachts in the world right now:

  • 10. Atlantic (69.2 meters)

Atlantic

Now long gone, the original 69.24 meter long Atlantic was designed by William Gardner and built back in 1903 by Townsend & Downey in Shooter Island, New York.

The actual one is only a replica of the original, build by following the drawings of the first shooner, found in various archives across the United States. One of them, the MIT Museum in Massachusetts, had digitized them with the help of Doug Peterson, a consulting naval architect who has guaranteed the authenticity of the lines and flotation.

  • 9. Badis (70 meters)

Badis

Once known as Sybaris, the 70 meter long Badis is one of the largest yachts build by the Italian naval company Perini Navi in the latest years. The yacht was finished in 2016, with Phillipe Briand as a consultant for the naval architecture, PH Design shaping the stunning wood veneer interior, and the exterior designed by Perini Navi.

Badis has room for a total of 12 guests, offering a master suite and five double rooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms and entertainment centers.

  • 8. Enigma (75 meters)

Enigma

Enigma is a 75 meter long single handed race yacht, designed specifically for participating in the Observer Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic Race. It was previously called Phocea and managed to cross the Atlantic in 1976, after which it was converted to a cruise ship by the French shipyard DCAN.

Over two decades later, it had a major interior and exterior overhaul at the Lürssen shipyard in Germany and was sold in 2010 to its present owners. Enigma now has a master suite, a VIP room, two double and two twin cabins and room for 12 guests and 23 crew members.

  • 7. M5 (77.5 meters)

M5

M5 is a 77.5 meter yacht designed by Ron Holland Design and built by Vosper Thornycroft in the United Kingdom. The vessel underwent some exterior and interior modifications. The stern section was redesigned and extended by 3 meters.

The yacht got a side boarding platform as well and the interior was also refitted to change the looks and style of the main and lower decks. The main deck is going to look completely different once all the joinery will be replaced.

  • 6. Aquijo (86 meters)

Aquijo

Aquijo is an 86 meter long Dutch sailing yacht designed by Bill Trip’ and constructed by Vitters and Oceanco. It was launched in 2015 and at once became the largest ketch-rigged sailing yacht in the world, with its mainmast rising to 88.4 meters above the sea level.

  • 5. Maltese Falcon (88 meters)

Maltese Falcon

The Maltese Falcon with its 88 meters is one of the most recognized and appreciated yachts of all time. The reason for that is its revolutionary DynaRig, an automated square rigged sail plan, with three carbon fiber rotating masts rising high into the sky, and holding the 15 square sails which amount to no less than 25,800 sq ft of canvas.

The system delivers outstanding performances, with hard to match speed and maneuverability. Constructed by Perini Navi, the Maltese Falcon was purchased in August 2009 by the current owner and is often seen competing in superyacht regattas.

  • 4. Athena (90 meters)

Athena

Athena is a 90 meter long super sailing yacht constructed by the Dutch Royal Huisman shipyard back in 2004. The exterior design was conceived by Pieter Beeldsnijder Design, the naval architecture by Dykstra & Partners and the interior was envisioned by Rebecca Bradley Interior Design.

The performances of this super yacht, a match to its name, Athena, make it one of the fastest sailing superyachts, reaching a top speed of 19 knots. Its length makes it also one of the largest sailing yachts launched after the 1930’s.

  • 3. EOS (93 meters)

EOS

EOS is a 1500 GRT three masted schooner with a length of 93 meters, placing it on the third place in our list of the 10 largest sailing yachts in the world right now. It was launched in 2006 by Lürssen, but there’s not much to know about it ever since due to its owners big love for privacy, making it one of the most private vessels on the seas.

  • 2. Black Pearl (106 meters)

Black Pearl

The Black Pearl is considered by many to be the largest sailing yacht in the world so far. It’s a 106 meter long vessel made to cross any ocean by harnessing the power of wind alone. It was built by the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands and got to meet its owner in 2018.

The Black Pearl features a modern and complex energy generation system and a top notch DynaRig setup made by Dykstra Naval Architects, making it one of the most advanced yachts of its kind. The overall design was made by its owner in close collaboration with a distinguished design team.

  • 1. Sailing Yacht A (142.8 meters)

Sailing Yacht A

Number one on our list is the impressive Sailing Yacht A, a controversial vessel in this category due to its combination of sail power and motor yachting, many people disregarding it when it comes to talking about pure sailing yachts. The official category it comes into is sail-assisted motor yacht, making the best of the two worlds.

In our opinion though, its 142.8 meters length and its grand 100 meter high carbon fiber masts make it fit enough for the first place as the largest sailing yacht in the world. Sailing Yacht A was constructed by Nobiskrug and delivered to its owner in 2017.

Baikal 86 Explorer and Expedition

Baikal yachts started the work on two 86m hulls for the baikal 86 explorer and expedition - including a catamaran tender..

A team of international designers, architects, and engineers from the Baikal Yachts Group has commenced work on two 86-meter hulls. This project involves the collaboration of specialists from various countries, including Russia, Italy, Germany, and others.

Although sharing common exterior elements, the two superyachts have been specifically designed for different sailing areas. When a customer approached the company to develop an 86-meter yacht, the specialists proposed two distinct hulls simultaneously while maintaining the exact planning solutions that appealed to the owner. Consequently, the concept of an explorer and an icebreaker was conceived, with one yacht intended for navigation in southern latitudes and the other for travel in northern latitudes.

Both projects share standard features, such as the owner’s space and the control post. The owner’s cabin, offices, salon, library, sports facilities, and meditation area are almost identical from the third to the fifth deck of both megayachts. This ensures that the yacht owner can transition seamlessly between the two vessels without the need to readjust to the space, allowing for a comfortable and familiar personal environment. While the yachts’ exterior may not be identical, the superstructure has recognizable details. However, the purpose and level of comfort of the yachts differ significantly.

Baikal 86m Explorer Superyacht

Baikal 86 Explorer or Expedition?

The Baikal 86 Explorer offers ample open space for enjoying pleasant, warm weather, featuring a spacious swimming pool on the main deck and two Jacuzzis on the owner’s deck. The hull will be constructed in the fast displacement format. As for the power engines, two diesel-electric systems with a capacity of 4000 hp each will be utilized.

The Baikal 86 Expedition boasts an indoor swimming pool, while the open main deck has numerous technical facilities for water and land activities. The hull is designed in the style of a cutting-edge icebreaker, and it will be powered by two diesel-electric systems with a capacity of 5000 hp each, along with two electric pod drives.

Both superyachts can accommodate two helicopters, with the Explorer version featuring an additional garage for one helicopter. Alternatively, the owner can request an open garage instead of a bow platform for a helicopter, allowing for the storage of an extensive tender in the form of a Baikal 14 DS catamaran. This catamaran is constructed using a new aluminum alloy developed by Rusal, which incorporates scandium and provides exceptional hull strength, enabling it to navigate even in icy conditions. Furthermore, the catamaran can be customized to reflect the owner’s preferred car brand.

The completion of this project is estimated to take approximately five years. Pre-project approvals are underway, and a shipyard is being selected to commence the construction of the superyacht hulls.

86 meter yacht

Colosseum's tender garage is large enough to host two large tenders, a sports guest type in the 11-meter range and an obligatory 10.5-meter limousine. How fast is Colosseum ? With twin MTU 20V 4000 M73Ls she should be able to go very close to 19-knots flat out but until that is confirmed we will stick with 18.5-knots. Naturally a yacht of the scale will have large enough tanks to allow her to be a comfortable Trans-Atlantic crosser.

86 meter yacht

Arriving in style? That's definitely a possibility for Colosseum as she has a helipad on the bow waiting to perch a reasonably sized bird. This vessel is designed with a number of features to enhance the experience for guests onboard. If you are up high on the sundeck, you have a built-in pool nestled under the hard top. Aquarium-like pools are prominent features onboard Colosseum no less than three separate places to splash.

86 meter yacht

Looking at the surroundings on the sundeck, there is ample lounging and sunbed space; truly a relaxing paradise, plus the highest deck grants full privacy for sun worshipers. Whether you soak in the pool or take in the rays, the area can be transformed with awnings for those who don't want the blistering torrent of a full-zenith sun.

86 meter yacht

Top-level guests or those lucky enough to have the VIPs or master suite will enjoy fold-down balconies off their rooms; a great amenity to have when at anchor in a bay or cove. Another feature is the glass-rimmed main pool situated on the aft main deck overlooking the transom. It's large and situated in a prime spot onboard so when at anchor you can have your dip in privacy because of its relatively high positioning on the transom. Not only is it a work of ingenuity but also a work of art, incorporating glass as part of the structural functionality.

86 meter yacht

Below the owner's exclusive deck is a more guest friendly deck where the evenings will come alive with fine dining al-fresco style! There is a customized dining table large enough to seat Colosseum's full guest complement of fourteen. No need for extra chairs or ottomans to add extra seating space at the table, this yacht is large and so are many of her features. Twin seating areas to the aft of the deck follow the curvature of the railings and again provide enough space to seat all of the yacht's guests if necessary. Loosely placed small cocktail tables are never far to serve your evening sipping habits.

86 meter yacht

It appears the owner will have an entire deck for themselves; the uppermost deck below the sundeck. Panoramic windows enclose a wonderful space for palatial living. Forward is a private haven complete with a jacuzzi, again with a glass enclosure to keep the theme going as seen on the other pools. The area is fitted out with plush and large individual outdoor furniture pieces for the owner to kick-back and relax and there are sunbeds flanking the jacuzzi to give additional options for outdoor relaxation. The area is sure to come alive at night with large hurricane lanterns offering soft and flickering glow while setting a romantic evening ablaze.

86 meter yacht

The interior follows a similar colour and tone scheme as many of the exterior spaces provide. Significant use of whites and subdued tones are contrasted with dark veneers -wenge'-. The light tones mix well with the light blue/green accents in the throw cushions and other pieces to also provide a form of subtle contrast that works well with the interior concept chosen.

86 meter yacht

Below the main pool on the lower deck is a wellness region that is also fitted with a gym area and sauna! Waterline living has always been inviting on this superyacht. The gym and sauna areas all have external views to the water thanks to the slitted windows incorporated into the design keeping you connected to the water and the outside world even as you work up a sweat.

86 meter yacht

How could you not love the new Colosseum concept designed by Team For Design; exclusively for OceAnco? Packed with gorgeous features from a plumb bow to her wide curving aft decks reminiscent of a Roman Amphitheater and hence the project name; Colosseum. As we descend the dual aft stairs to the swim platform to board the tender to head back to shore, we hope you enjoyed this feature of the latest OceAnco project Colosseum. Darnet Design: 86 meter Starlight is for sale

86 meter yacht

Presented during the last Monaco Yacht Show, the 86-meter motor yacht Starlight is the main custom project of the French studio Darnet Design, and is currently on sale.

Based in Nantes, France, Darnet Design has designed over the last twenty-two years almost 2,500 yacht interiors , collaborating with the world’s leading boat builders, including Groupe Bénéteau , Privilège Marine , Allures Yachting , Outremer Yachting .

86 meter yacht

Franck Darnet , founder of the brand, has combined his passion for sailing with a love of design, working with his team on several projects and the interior design of several 45-metre yachts, “Africa” in 2010 and “Atomic” in 2014, both built by the Turkish shipyard Sunrise. The French studio also designed the interiors of the 64-metre VSY “Atomic”, currently being completed in Italy, whose exterior style is the work of Espen Oeino.

For Starlight, the Darnet Design team has created both the exterior and interior design .

Conceived and designed for long cruises in all maritime conditions , this six-deck superyacht is equipped with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, which meets the requirements of Lloyd’s classification, without sacrificing comfort and cutting-edge technology.

86 meter yacht

Key features include one of the largest beach clubs on the market, exceeding 100m2 , with two underwater observatories; a landing platform for touch and go helicopters; a 17m2 swimming pool on the main aft deck and a large atrium with a unique mobile platform in the main and upper saloon.

The garage located between the engine room and the beach club can accommodate two 10m and 8m tenders, up to three jet skis and other toys.

With two 3,140 hp engines , Starlight can reach a cruising speed of 16 knots, while the maximum speed is 19 knots .

86 meter yacht

The spacious outdoor areas take full advantage of the large beam, offering several lounge areas in the sun or shade, seating and dining areas on all decks.

On the lower stern deck, there is a large outdoor lounge, which increases the usability of the beach club, creating a multifunctional area that exceeds 100 square meters .

The glass-sided swimming pool on the main aft deck overlooks the beach club below and is located next to an outdoor lounge. The deck houses a circular Jacuzzi and a large sunbathing area covering the stern. The sun deck is equipped with a large sun lounger at the raised bow and several L-shaped sofas and coffee tables.

The bow deck features a sheltered private terrace and thermal swimming pool. From here the owner has direct access to the helipad and the forward master cabin with a panoramic window.

With a gross tonnage of 2,200 GT , Starlight can accommodate up to 14 passengers in six cabins on the main deck and in the master cabin on the deck above. For the custom interior, Darnet Design has combined classic elements with a modern style. The spacious design of the main saloon includes a social area flooded with natural light and wide-open spaces.

86 meter yacht

Stretching the full height of two floors, LCD wall screens decorate the large atrium, where the formal dining area and main salon are on the bottom deck and the upper salon on the above owner’s deck.

The design of both the atrium and the upper saloon was carried out with a forward-thinking approach, conceived and designed exclusively by Darnet Design. The custom Darnet Platform allows the upper saloon to become a multi-purpose area offering maximum versatility to the owner and guests with different configurations. The saloon layout can in fact include three options: lounge, cinema, and entertainment .

86 meter yacht

The owner’s area is forward on the upper deck and is equipped with separate bathrooms for him and her, owner’s office, dressing room and panoramic suite, overlooking the owner’s private terrace.

The wellness area is located on the main deck next to the guest accommodation and has a gym, spa and sauna for guests.

Crew accommodation is located on the lower deck and includes galley, crew cabins, canteen, saloon and gym, as well as additional storage and laundry facilities.

Captain’s quarters are located on the deck next to the wheelhouse.

Crews turn sights to removing debris from ship’s deck in Baltimore bridge collapse cleanup

Gov. Wes Moore gives an update on plans to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge; also acknowledges the six lives lost in the collaps

BALTIMORE (AP) — Salvage crews at the site of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore are turning their focus to the thousands of tons of debris sitting atop the Dali , a massive cargo ship that veered off course and caused the deadly catastrophe last month.

An estimated 3,000 to 4,000 tons of steel and concrete landed on the ship’s deck after it crashed into one of the bridge’s supporting columns and toppled the span, officials said at a news conference Friday. Crews will have to remove all that before refloating the stationary ship and guiding it back into the Port of Baltimore.

Officials displayed overhead photos of the ship with an entire section of fallen roadway crushing its bow.

So far, cranes have lifted about 120 containers from the Dali, with another 20 to go before workers can build a staging area and begin removing pieces of the mangled steel and crumbling concrete. The ship was laden with about 4,000 containers and headed for Sri Lanka when it lost power shortly after leaving Baltimore.

Its owner recently initiated a process requiring owners of the cargo on board to cover some of the salvage costs.

Six members of a roadwork crew plunged to their deaths in the collapse and two bodies remain unaccounted for.

“We cannot forget a true and hurting fact,” Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott said during the news conference. “There are still two Marylanders lost and still waiting to be returned with their families for closure.”

As the salvage operations continue alongside federal and law enforcement investigations , Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said getting the bridge rebuilt is an urgent priority. The 1.6 mile (2.6 kilometer) span connected working-class communities on either side of Baltimore’s harbor, allowing steelworkers and longshoremen to easily traverse the Patapsco River without driving through downtown and providing a vital route for East Coast truckers.

“This is not about nostalgia. This is about necessity,” Moore said. “You cannot have a fully functioning Port of Baltimore if the Key Bridge is not there.”

Moore said he met with leaders in Congress from both parties in Washington on Thursday to talk about funding to rebuild the bridge. He said all of them seemed to understand its importance.

“I know we are going to get this moment right, because we’re choosing to work together,” Moore said. “That was a strike to our nation’s economy.”

President Joe Biden, who visited Baltimore in the aftermath of the collapse, also called on Congress to authorize the federal government to pay for 100% of the cleanup and reconstruction. That would require bipartisan support, and some hardline congressional Republicans have already suggested controversial demands to offset the funding.

In the meantime, crews are also working to reopen the port’s main channel, which has been blocked since the collapse. Using massive floating cranes, they’ve carted away about 1,300 tons of steel and counting, without any injuries to workers in the process, officials said.

The effort remains on track to open a temporary access channel that would allow most maritime traffic through the port to resume by the end of the month, restoring commerce to one of the East Coast’s busiest maritime transit hubs.

Until that happens, unemployed port workers and others are receiving financial assistance through a network of local, state and federal programs.

“This is a community that was literally forged out of steel,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, who grew up in suburban Dundalk, practically in the bridge’s shadow. “That same steel resolve will help us meet this moment, reopen our port and rebuild the Key Bridge.”

Associated Press reporter Brian Witte contributed to this report from Annapolis.
