Harbour town is a hit on the island..

From Gregg Russell’s summer performances, to the lighthouse, pirate tours and parasailing, Harbour Town offers tons of fun.

Wooden rocking chairs sit facing the marina just waiting for guests to sit, relax, take a break from their exploring and shopping and feel the nice ocean breeze. While the wooden Swiss Family Robinson-style playground waits around the corner for a fun family affair.

There are over 20 gift shops, boutiques and galleries spread around the marina in Sea Pines. Guests can find everything from souvenirs chic dresses at SM Bradford.

Whether you’re looking for fine dining, or somewhere to stop by, Harbour Town has what you need. With a variety of restaurants serving everything from local seafood and burgers to Panini’s, pastries, ice cream, you definitely won’t go hungry here.

The Lighthouse

The red-and-white-striped Harbour Town Lighthouse is one of the most famous landmarks on Hilton Head. The lighthouse, built more than 40 years ago, offers tours and a spectacular view from above. There’s even the Top of the Lighthouse Shoppe. Guests can shop through the variety of souvenirs and local art and take something home with them from this memorable experience.

The Harbour Town Marina homes some of the most beautiful boats in the Yacht Basin, which was designed after a harbor in Italy and built in 1969. With 100 slips and an array of services, this dock is set for the best. They offer daily, weekly and monthly dockage rates, in addition to slip ownership opportunities.

Water Activities

Since Harbour Town is right on the water, there are several oceanic activities to take part in. Kids can get a temporary tattoo and go on a Pirate Tour or the family can go out on a kayaking trip or a Waverunner Safari tour. Guests also have the opportunity to rent a stand up paddle board, waverunner or boat and venture out on the water. For the thrill-seekers, there is also waterskiing, knee boarding, wakeboarding, banana boat rides and even parasailing!

25. Check Out Legendary Harbour Town

Harbour Town is “must do” – a great place for the whole family to spend a whole day. It is the center of activity within The Sea Pines Resort.

Things To Do

Start your day in a rocking chair under the Liberty Oak, an ancient tree that was saved from destruction by Charles Fraser during the construction of Harbour Town. Visit the Charles Fraser Statue, a tribute to the man who conceived and constructed this island’s first resort and residential plantation. Let your kids vent their energy at the Gregg Russell Playground .

There are also over 20 shops for your browsing pleasure and numerous restaurants that feature everything from seafood to steak.

Harbour Town Lighthouse Museum

Climb the 114-step Harbour Town Lighthouse Museum , Hilton Head’s 47-year-old signature landmark. When you reach the top, you must go outside and take in the 360-degree view. Shop in the charming Top of the Lighthouse Shoppe , and don’t miss their new the ground floor Maritime Gift Galley, a unique nautical shop and bookstore.

On the Pier

On the pier, you can select from any number of activities out on the water – pirate sails for the kids, sailing  aboard the trimaran “Sumo” , nature tours , parasailing , wave running , boat rentals , charter fishing , and dinner cruises .   All ages would enjoy a leisurely scenic nature cruise aboard the “Vagabond “, a dinner cruise aboard the “Spirit of Harbour Town” , or a crabbing adventure aboard the “Tammy Jane” .

At the Nature Center, located between the bakery and CQ’s, you can make reservations for any number of guided nature tours as well as activities for the youngsters. It also has live animal exhibits, hands-on displays, and nature-related merchandise.

Unless you’re staying within Sea Pines, there is a fee to pass through the gates, but it’s good for the whole day.

Harbour Town is essentially centered around a wide yacht basin, and comprises of a small collection of two semi-circle roads boarded by a handful of shaded side-streets. After arriving, the possibilities for indoor and outdoor fun and virtually limitless, as the neighborhood offers a wide-ranging suite of different amenities.

Golfers will want to spend a breezy, sunny day at the Harbour Town Golf Links, one of the most revered golf courses on the East Coast, and home to South Carolina's only PGA TOUR event, the RBC Heritage.Bordering wide marshes, tall Palmettos, and miles of open water views, the course is considered one of the best achievements by acclaimed golf course designer Pete Dye, with a famed 18th hole which is one of the most recognizable holes in the national golfing community.

On a cloudy day, Harbour Town visitors can hit the Harbour Town Shops at the Sea Pines Resort, a popular shopping destination which features waterfront views around every turn. Because the activity in Harbour Town revolves around the large circular yacht basin, the marina is arguably one of the community's most used local amenities. The full-service marina was constructed in 1969 under the direction of the Sea Pines founder, Charles Fraser, and was modeled after a famous similar habor in Portofino, Italy. Dockhands are on duty every day to assist maritime visitors, and the marina offers a long list of amenities for its patrons, including gas and diesel discounts, car rentals and ships chandlery, and even daily local newspaper delivery right to the vessel. The star of the scene at Harbour Town, besides the open soundfront, is easily the Harbour Town Lighthouse, a boxy red and white horizontally-striped lighthouse that towers over the coastal scene. Built in 1969, the hexagonal column stretches into the sky at a respectable 90' feet tall, and features a white light which flashes every 2.5 seconds after the sun goes down. For a small fee, visitors can climb the privately-owned structure and enjoy expansive views of Hilton Head Island in virtually every direction. There's also a museum located nearby, stocked with local lifesaving history as well as lighthouse souvenirs.

There are an ample range of accommodations for folks who want to enjoy the scene instead of just pass through, all located just a quick walk away from the water as well as the neighborhood's many amenities. Great Marina. We loved it there. Stayed there on our way south last November. Stayed 2 nights on our way north. Very helpful staff. Very clean restrooms and showers. Free Laundry Fun place with the outdoor music. The renovated restaurant, the Quarter Deck , has good food. Definitely a place we will stay when traveling.

For the price, you don't get much. Entry was easy. I would let them know if you don't have twin screws and a bow thruster. They put us way in a corner and getting out was a but tricky. You'll have crowds around you all day. Great restaurants. Free laundry and two nice showers. No lounge.

Nice docks, dock hands very helpful. Free bottle of wine. Bathrooms can be far from some slips, bathrooms and laundry very basic. Lots of shops and restaurants. Beautiful area.

We stayed here Sept 8-10 and really enjoyed ourselves. Great restaurant in very close walking range to harbor , and a harbor side bar and grill. Lots of cute little shops that surround the marina . The kids loved working light house that is also a museum . The staff was great very helpful we even got a bottle of wine upon check in . Laundry is free only two machines which is fine for us. There is a beautiful playground close to the marina as well ( nice and shady) the pool is a bit of a walk but not bad at all still a very easy walk . The cafe near by is nice but closes at 2pm so just get there before that and your fine . We would definitely stay again clean , convenient, great staff, easy walking to restaurants

This is a great destination and provides easy in and out if you are running outside. Fuel and pump out are easy and dock hands are very helpful. The showers and heads are a hike but floating docks are nice. BEWARE if your boat is older than 2005, we are delivering a 98 and because of their new GFCI breakers, we have to run our generator overnight which did not make us popular with our neighbors. No one cared to remedy this situation and at the price, we think this inexcusable.

Pricy, but everything is top shelf. We couldn't believe that the (golf) clubhouse was for our use, but it was. Easy pump out and fueling. Dock hands were great.

A resort destination. Agree with all the comments about the staff and harbor. The walk to bathroom can be long and longer to the showers with limited hours. Make dining reservations on the weekends. The closest grocery stores are over 3 miles away and difficult to reach since there is currently no Uber or Lyft operating on the island. Taxis work the airport and may require a 30 to 45 minute wait for pickup elsewhere.

This marina may be the best all around facility in which we have stayed. Bravo! We will be staying again when passing by Hilton Head! Here are the positives: + The staff are friendly and expert line handlers! + All communications entering and leaving the harbor were clear and precise. + Floating docks + The harbor is calm, clean, clear, protected from winds and tidal flow. + Shopping and dining are nearby. + WiFi is fast and strong! The only negatives are: bathroom and shower facilities are small and well used and security is lax. We will be back!! Five stars in spite of the bathrooms!!

We are staying here for the month of March and it is a great marina! Staff is excellent and very helpful. The marina is well protected and just of the ICW in a resort location. There are lots of great places to eat and things to do. Groceries are close by and transportation is available via a number of sources. This is a very friendly place and they love our dog! Will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.

I have been utilizing this marina since the mid-eighties. It has only improved with the years. It's proximity to the Savannah River entrance makes a quick over-night fuel/meal/sleep stop in priceless. As a stop on a coastal cruise, it is a prime destination. The fuel is fast and good. The dockage is safe from wind and security is great. You are right next to the ICW if you want to jump onto the magenta line and go. I highly recommend Harbour Towne YB.

After booking confirmation, we will send you a text message with detailed instructions for your chosen pickup location.

Tickets are non-refundable unless your tour is cancelled by Hilton Head Dolphin Tours, but you may reschedule your tour with at least 24 HOURS notice prior to the scheduled departure time. You may also request a voucher to use at a later date if cancellation is made prior to 24 hours of your departure time. We will NOT honor rescheduling or vouchers within 24 hours of your departure time.

Cancellation due to weather is at our Captain’s discretion only! 

We will contact you on the phone number provided on the day of your tour if there are any weather concerns/cancellations. The Captain keeps a diligent eye on the weather and will inform you in ample time to get you rescheduled. Weather cancellations are 100% refundable if rescheduling is not possible. Isolated/pop-up thunderstorms are a way of life here in the summer months and they may delay us for a few minutes or miss us entirely, so please show up unless you hear from us.
