The resort is nestled harbor side on the quaint settlement of Spanish Wells, Eleuthera. Here you will find a little piece of heaven far away from all the hustle and bustle of a big town. For the fishing enthusiast there is the choice of fishing the Dutch Bar for big game fish or the flats for bonefish. Both areas are in close proximity. For those wanting to unwind, the pristine white sand beach is a short walk away from the resort and is a great place to relax, go for a swim, or take a long peaceful stroll.

The property offers a marina with 30 all-weather slips for boats up to a maximum of 165 feet and six hotel rooms each with pool and harbour views from the balcony, two queen beds, ensuite bathrooms, a wet bar, desk and cable TV. There is also one master cottage that has a large bedroom, two bathrooms, a living and dining area and a full-size kitchen. Other amenities of the facility include a pool, laundry room with coin-operated washers and driers, shower facilities for marina guests and Wreckers the dockside restaurant and bar. Discover this charming island settlement on the northern tip of Eleuthera. Spanish Wells has always been predominately a fishing and lobstering community, with very little emphasis on tourism.

Until a few years ago Spanish Wells was actually a dry island with no restaurants and no hotels or guest houses. Starting in 2013 with the opening of The Shipyard and permission to serve alcohol on premises, the island has grown and evolved into a new hot destination for both Bahamians and international guests. The eager younger generation has provided numerous options for dining, and colonial cottages have been renovated and offered on VRBO and Air BnB. The newly opened Spanish Wells Yacht Haven is a fantastic marina for the yatchies , offering all the amenities with guest cottages and a restaurant.

Immediately upon arrival you will feel welcomed as locals smile and wave in passing. Rent a golf buggy and discover quiet stretches of white sandy beaches or venture out to Russell Island and try and find The Sandbar, a great local bar and restaurant hangout.

If you’re the outdoor sports enthusiast you’ll find no lack of charter fishing options to take you deep sea fishing, sportsfishing and bonefishing. Kiteboarders flock to the northern beaches in the wintertime and you can oftentimes find organized groups. There’s also the occasional yoga retreat. Newly introduced are Spanish Wells’ swimming pigs on a neighboring island, more easily accessible than their cousins in The Exumas.

I have never been to Spanish Wells, but I am planning a visit for late Feb / early March 2025.

Does each street that ends at the beach allow direct beach access and have a parking area for bikes or a golf cart? Please explain beach access points?

Some do some don’t

Tons of parking on the North/West side were the swings are. Lots go there. (Lots I mean you might see 10 people).

Theres another good spot farther East. Close to the church.

Bottom line. Load up your golf cart and just keep driving roads till you find something that suits you

But you'll find SW easy to get around and find the perfect spots.

I would just drive over to the Public Park, which is at the West Point of Spanish Wells (Saint George’s Cay), between Abner’s Pavilion and the bridge. It’s a very nice place to start a relaxing day with shallow waters, beautiful beach sand and picnic tables. You can walk Northside Beach which is about 1 1/3 miles from the park to the east seawall. It’s a fantastic walk – don’t worry about your picnic basket, beverages or whatever’s, it will be there when you return. Spanish Wells is probably the safest place around Eleuthera!

We were just there and basically did what CB11 recommended. We went on a beach pathway to the right of the pavilion and found a shaded area to park our golf cart. Then walked probably the nicest beach you’ll ever experience. Mind you we said that about four of five time’s visiting other Eleuthera Beaches 😎

Thank you all for your replies. Having witnessed firtshand the growing attempts to block beach/shoreline access (or intimidate people) in FL, I wanted to clarify the situation on SW. Of course I would never try to access the beach thru someone's yard or property. I wanted to find out if, once gaining access to the beach, I would be permitted to walk anywhere along the shoreline and place a beach chair. TY.
