Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

Welcome to the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 2! In this week’s episode, called “Sneak, Sip, and Sink,” Elena and the crew learn to “never wake the chef.” Captain Sandy sends Joe and Nathan over to a neighboring superyacht to see if they can beg, borrow, or steal some rosé since the provisioner still hasn’t come through. Following a talk at the dinner table about fidelity and cheating in the yachting industry, Nathan and Gael (who has a boyfriend) sneak off in search of “a few wee strawberries” back on the boat. Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 2.

Never wake the chef

Last week the guests were drinking and wanted midnight snacks. Overwhelmed and under-experienced, Elena attempted to wake the chef to help her, but he refused. He’d just spent close to 18 hours in the galley and needed his rest. He has to get up at 6:00 for breakfast, so no.

Deckhand Gael is on the overnight shift, so she volunteers to make grilled cheese while Elena makes the drinks. One of the guests also comes down to help.

Finally, the guests have their drinks and sandwiches, so everyone’s happy. I just hope they clean up the galley. Chef will not be pleased to find a mess when he needs to prepare breakfast.

At last, Elena gets to bed at 6:30, just as the rest of the crew is getting up for the day. Jono’s proud of himself for standing firm and refusing to cave to pressure.

When Aesha says hello to Jono, he tells her what happened last night. “Ellie came in,” he says. “She asked for mac and cheese, and I said, ‘No, I’m sorry, I can’t … I was waking up this morning at 6:00. I couldn’t.”

Aesha reminds him that “late-night snacks” were specifically requested on their preference sheets. In a flashback to the preference meeting, Jono says, “If there’s any, like, cooked snacks, I’ll take care of it.” Whoops. Busted! Aesha suggests that, in the future, he could prep something in advance for Elena to warm and serve.

As for Elena not getting to bed until 6:30 am, “[A stew] should never be to bed more than an hour after the guests,” Aesha says in a confessional. “If she’s with them the whole time, she’s getting nothing done.” She’s cautiously hopeful that, with time, Ellie will keep learning and improving.

Still no rosé

Captain Sandy and Aesha are both texting with the provisioner to see if they can get some wine. The provisioner says he can get it to them “later this evening,” which is totally unacceptable. Are these people supposed to be professionals? They don’t seem to understand the urgency of the situation.

Sandy calls Jono to the bridge and says she heard there was an issue last night with the guests wanting late-night food. “I’m gonna address that in the meeting,” she says. “When you go to bed, you’re down.” It’s okay to wake the chef if he just went down or if he’s on a break. But if he’s been asleep for a while, it’s forbidden. She also suggests that he prepare snacks in advance for the night stew.

Meanwhile, Sandy gets a text from the inept provisioner. “Do you still want the wine delivery at 5pm today?”

“That’s too late!” she texts back. “Our charter is over in 3 hours.” Under her breath, she mutters, “They’re f*cking fired.”

Excuse me, neighbor, do you have any gray poupon rosé?

It’s the guests’ last lunch, and they specifically asked for rosé for lunch. Sandy suggests they send someone to the big superyacht that’s anchored behind them and beg “nicely” for four bottles. It’s worth a try. Iain sends Joe over to try to charm the other boat out of some wine. It’s the yachting version of borrowing a cup of sugar.

Sandy tells Joe, “Meet me on the bridge, and I’ll give you some money.”

Joe pulls up to the side of the yacht and addresses the officers looking over the side, “We need four bottles of rosé. What do we need to do to get that from you? Name a price, we’ll put it in your pocket.”

When the captain quotes not less than €75 a bottle, Joe responds, “What if I see the brand, and it’s no more than 20 quid?”

“If you’re interested, okay,” the captain answers. “Otherwise, we’re gonna take off here in a minute.”

Finally, Joe accepts the deal, hands over the money, and shakes hands with the captain, who looks kind of familiar. Is Captain Lee moonlighting on the Greek Islands?

The end of a chaotic charter

Bri’s struggling with the laundry. One of the guests is missing some articles of clothing, and the third stew hasn’t been able to find them. Ellie makes a point of letting Aesha know (tattle tale), but the chief stew is working on being positive. She doesn’t want to be endlessly nagging, so she tries to compliment where she can to build confidence in her two green stews.

Despite all the provisioning struggles, the guests are cheerful as they disembark. The primary especially praises Jono’s food and shakes his hand in appreciation. He admits they were disappointed in the lack of provisions and “a few clothes went missing when they went for a press,” but they had an “amazing” time otherwise.

At the tip meeting, Sandy tells them, “It’s easy to do a good job when things are going your way. When they’re not, and you still show up … that’s what people look for in character.”

After congratulating the deck crew (“good job”) and Aesha for “leading with kindness,” Sandy adds, “Never wake the chef.” She explains the plan for Jono to make paninis ahead of time, which the late-night stew can heat in the panini maker.

“No, Captain,” Ellie interrupts. Uh oh, don’t do it. But she does. “It wasn’t just the paninis. It was a whole thing, that’s why I woke the chef.”

“Never wake the chef,” Sandy reiterates. “Maybe on big boats, cause they have more than one chef.” But not here. Got it?

The tip is €13,000 ($15,000), $1250 per person. Not bad for a short charter where nothing seemed to go right.

Jono extends an olive branch

Heading back to work, Jono tells Ellie, “Just know not to wake me up ever again.” But graciously, he adds, “The lesson is that I will prepare stuff ’cause I’m empathetic that you were under a crazy situation, and I don’t want that to happen to you ever again.”

That was very kind of him, but of course, Ellie doesn’t take it that way. I can see she’s going to hold a grudge and make trouble for herself.

As predicted, she’s upset that she didn’t get any sympathy. “What about the fact that I was up for 25 hours? It was all about waking up the chef!” Bri tries to comfort her, but she pushes her away. Maybe she’s just tired from being up all night and getting too little sleep, but she’s losing her sh*t.

And she just can’t let it go. “I feel like Jono has affected the captain’s perception of who I am,” she interviews. “It’s not Captain Sandy who’s making me upset. It’s Jono who’s making me upset.” She needs to just get over it, or she’s gonna find herself on a tender back to the dock.

Nathan wants “a few wee strawberries”

On the first crew night out, Gael walks out in street clothes, makeup, and her hair in waves. She’s stunning, and Nathan’s drooling.

“Gael?! Holy f*cking sh*t, she’s attractive,” Nathan interviews. “She has a boyfriend. But I owe no loyalty to anyone.”

At dinner, Joe and Nathan tell Gael, “We’ve got a bromance.”

Gael says, “I think I’ve got a bromance with you two also … I’m a rose between two thorns.”

Aesha and Gael have an in-depth conversation about how hard it is to have a relationship in the yachting industry. “We’ve just got to see how it goes,” Gael says.

“Interesting to say the least,” comments Nathan, who views Gael as a challenge.

When they return to the boat, Nathan asks Gael, “Are you gonna keep me company?” She agrees, but the cameras are following them, so they return to their respective cabins.

As he’s getting ready for bed, Gael texts Nathan, “For the record, keep your eye on me.”

“Where should we meet that has no cameras?” he texts back.

“The starboard bow locker has no cameras,” she responds. “Let’s go there … Tell me when you get there and if you get caught.”

“All this for a few wee strawberries,” he texts back.

“Maybe I like him, like a little tiny bit,” Gael interviews. “Maybe I just want to hang out with him. I’m not harmin’ anyone.”

When she gets Nathan’s “All clear,” up the stairs she goes to meet him in the storage locker. How romantic.

It has created stars and a dedicated fandom large enough for the creation of BravoCon. One would think its stars have very fat pockets because of how grandiose and large the network has become. But that isn't always necessarily true. While some of Bravo's stars make millions in the span of a season, others barely come close to that.

Series like Below Deck has become a major hit for Bravo. It's one of the few series on the network that initially drew in both male and female viewers, which makes it stand out among its contemporaries. With the popularity of the series growing enough for spinoffs in the franchise, many wonder how much the superyachties earn per season. So, how much does the Below Deck cast truly earn? The figures might shock the typical Bravo fan, especially in comparison to other series.

How much does the 'Below Deck' cast make per episode?

While it is unclear how much the Below Deck cast earns per episode , there is insight into how much each cast member earns per month. According to Business Insider , the Below Deck cast makes an average of $5,000 to $6,000 per month, which comes to between $60,000 to $72,000 per year.

Based on that, combined with the knowledge that four to five episodes air per month in an 18-episode season, it seems like the Below Deck average per episode rate is somewhere close to $1,000.

'Below Deck' has earned Bravo a lot of money, but former stars say the pay remains lower than other series.

Former Below Deck crew members have been frustrated with the alleged treatment they've received from Bravo. A former stew from Below Deck 's third season, Ashley Marti , elaborated on this during her conversation with Business Insider .

She said, "We're on TV, but technically we're the help. We don't get the same treatment." She isn't wrong, considering that there are multiple Bravo stars on other shows raking in hefty sums each year , while Below Deck 's crew earn the average American wage.

Life after 'Below Deck' is often more difficult than prior to being on the show.

Other Below Deck alums who chose not to be directly quoted in the Business Insider article said finding work on other yachts became incredibly difficult after they appeared in the series. Most yachties earn a little more than their Below Deck counterparts, as they are allowed to receive tips from the guests, while Bravo, according to Kate Chastain , collects their tips and wires them, making it taxable income. This means they'd probably earn a lot more money not being on the series than they would on it.
