Astrid Nagel založila Yachticon v roce 1982. Prvním produktem společnosti byl Aqua Clean – výrobek pro konzervaci pitné vody. Myšlenka byla z hlavy Herberta Nagela (který se věnoval dovozu bonbónů a sladkostí) – vyrábět tekutý produkt, který netvoří hrudky a není tak drahý jako k tomu určený prášek, který v té době již byl na trhu. Vzestup přišel díky sousedovi Dr. Winkelmannovi, který se zabýval potravinářskou chemií a vyvinul recepturu, a také díky redaktorovi novin Bild, který tu a tam publikoval malé redakční články o ochraně vody.

První výroba pak probíhala v kuchyni a později v suterénu domu. Rychle se našli tři obchodní zástupci, díky kterým neustále rostl prodej výrobku. K rozšíření povědomí o výrobku pomohly i první malé stánky na veletrzích Hanseboot a Boot v Düsseldorfu. A export se tak stal důležitým pilířem společnosti. V roce 1992, po té, co dokončil studia ekonomie na Wirtschaftsakademii v Hamburgu, vstoupil do podnikání Oliver Nagel. Na počátku své pracovní dráhy se musel rozhodnout mezi podnikáním s bonbóny nebo péčí o lodě. Převážila jeho veliká záliba, a to plachtění. V té době byla ještě kancelář v domě jeho rodičů a o distribuci se staral majitel využívaného skladu. Z původních deseti produktů jejich počet neustále rostl až na více než 1 000 produktů, souvisejících s péčí a údržbou lodi. V roce 1989 se společnost přesunula do Norderstedt Glashütte, kde měla k dispozici velký sklad a kancelář. Postupem času, kdy ubývali ostatní nájemníci prostor v objektu, společnost využívala více a více prostoru, jak stále rostla. A protože i tak nakonec kapacitně místo přestalo vyhovovat, bylo v roce 2016 otevřeno nové sídlo společnosti (ve stejném průmyslovém parku), které nabízí více než 5 000m 2 skladových prostor a 1 000m 2 kancelářského prostoru.

“Jsme rodina, která se celý život věnuje jachtingu. Před mnoha lety jsme dostali nápad – vyvinout takový prostředek pro naši loď, který by zajistil, aby naše pitná voda na palubě zůstala vždy čerstvá a zdravá. Zeptali jsme se tedy našeho přítele a souseda, doktora Winkelmanna (potravinářského chemika). Ten pro nás po několika letech vyvinul recepturu, která splňovala požadavky a nařízení o pitné vodě. Bez dalších okolků jsme nakoupili ingredience a naplnili 20litrovou nádobu, ručně ji protřepali a poté rozlili její obsah do malých lahviček, to vše v naší kuchyni. Rozhodli jsme se pojmenovat to Aqua Clean. A to se stalo před téměř 35 lety. Dnes se malá kuchyňská továrna proměnila ve velkou   globálně aktivní společnost, a to díky vizi Olivera Nagela, syna těchto námořníků. Ujal se vedení po studiích před více než dvaceti lety a stále plujeme. Víte, i cesta do Číny začíná prvním krokem.”

We also find the Aqua Clean drinking water disinfectant Yachticon in different forms that will allow you to disinfect your water and avoid the proliferation of germs.

Water being the central element of navigation, yachticon also understood that it could be harmful for the longevity of your boat. This is why products such as Yachticon water absorber for diesel and gasoline have been created. Corrosion due to water in the supply lines and in the boat's tank can damage and eventually destroy your system. This additive product is therefore essential for the good performance of your boats. Another Yachticon gasoline additive also exists to take care of your engine and tanks.
