Sailboat String Art for Kids

It’s time to put a new string art display out for the summer months – today we are showing you how to make an easy sailboat string art for kids and beginners.

We are using yarn for these simple projects as it’s easier for little hands to handle, if you are doing this project with older kids you can just use a regular string.

I just love how string art decor looks, and as it’s pretty easy to make you can have a new display each month (or season).

What you need:

• Red Heart in Bright Yellow
• Red Heart in Soft White
• Red Heart in Cherry Red
• Red Heart in Black
• Red Heart in Shaded Dusk (blue)
• Tack Hammer
• Wire Nails (18 x 3/4″)
• Wood Board measures about 8″ x 9″ x 3/4″

Directions: Lightly sketch a sailboat onto your wood board with a pencil.

Note the order we created: It was that order because we didn’t outline all of the shapes. We only outlined the top and sides of the boat and not the part that was in the water. The same goes for the sails.
