Captain (Rotational) Clive Harrison Clive hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. He first saw the ocean at the age of 10, but has always been a water baby. Clive has worked in the yachting industry since the summer of ‘99 having commanded vessels ranging from 37 meters to 65 meters. He has held a Master 3000Gt Certificate of Competency from the MCA since 2006. Clive’s work-related travels have taken him on 14 Atlantic Crossings and to 5 continents. When not onboard Clive likes to pursue adventurous activities with his family including camping and trekking - he has even hiked to Mt Everest base camp. Clive is an avid rugby fan and has been to watch every world cup his country and beloved Springboks have been involved in. Captain (Rotational) Liam Clark from 50m-90m. He brings some great charter experience from yachts MEAMINA, NAIA & Sunrays, having cruised in Indonesia, PNG, Thailand, UAE, Seychelles, Maldives, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Being one of three brothers, all working within the super yacht industry, a career at sea runs in the family. Liam enjoys cycling, squash, running, and a big rugby fan. Working in Hospitality since a young age. He is here to cater for the guests every need onboard. Ensuring that the service provided throughout all departments, is of the highest standard. Chief Officer (Rotational) Johnny Potter Johnny comes from Sydney, Australia. In 2008 he started traveling and moved to Europe where he lived until 2021, he has recently moved back to Australia where he resides with his wife and children. Prior to working on super yachts, johnny was a landscaper for 12 years, he decided to make a change and chase a career working on yachts. He grew up swimming competitively and being a life guard on Sydney’s beaches, where he has always had a passion for the ocean. Johnny has worked on yachts from 50-73m in the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, The Caribbean and Europe and after 10 years working in the industry, he has finally completed his Master 3000. In Johnny’s down time he loves to surf and snowboard or spending time with his 2 children that keep him on his toes. Chief Officer (Rotational) Heine Jansen van Rensburg Heine was born in South Africa to a sporting family that spent most weekends competing in sports or in the outdoors. After completing his senior year at high school, he got the opportunity to join his first super yacht. After his first couple of seasons, he found himself still yearning for the water and it became clear that he needed to follow his passion for the ocean. 11 years on and Heine is looking forward to a long, and successful career, aiming towards his Masters license. 2nd Officer Omer Lavrovic Omer was born in Bar, a small town on the coast of Montenegro. As a teenager he spent his summer holidays working as a lifeguard and during that time he discovered his love for the ocean. After graduating from Maritime Nautical Science University, he joined the yachting industry. During his time working on yachts, Omer has obtained his Officer of the Watch license and sailed on one of the biggest sailing yachts in the world. Omer loves spending time in the water, swimming, paddle boarding and in the gym while training other people. He has an immense amount of energy and enjoys entertaining guests with water sports activities, whilst also ensuring that their safety is regarded with the highest priority. Deckhand Steven Devenish Steven has spent most of his life in and around Cape Town, South Africa. For the last two years, Steven has worked for a yacht company where he was responsible for the installation of plumbing and systems on new builds. This led him to pursue a career in the super yacht industry where he could have the opportunity to put his skills to good use, travel the world and meet new people whilst gaining further experience. Deckhand Christiaan De Sousa Christiaan grew up on a wildlife farm in northern Namibia. He is passionate about wild animals, archery, sharp shooting and nature in general. He even had a pet giraffe growing up! He has been a rugby player most of his life, plating school grade and club rugby. Christiaan also has a talent for cooking where he completed in school grade chef competitions as a junior chef. When Christiaan isn´t busy working on deck he loves fishing, diving and is always up for an outdoor adventure. Deckhand Jean Phillipe Minnaar Jean is kind, outgoing and full of energy. He grew up in South Africa where his life revolved around sports and the outdoors. He has a great passion for golf, surfing and rugby. Jean joined yachting in 2021 where he wanted to begin a new adventure and travel the world seeing incredible places. He met his girlfriend Rebecca and since then they have been on a yachting adventure together. Jean is thrilled to be a part of the GALAXY crew and excited to grow within the yachting industry with hopes to work his way up to Captain in the future. Chief Engineer (Rotational) Nathan Passman Nathan is from Yorkshire, England and is easily recognised by his Northern British accent. He joined the crew as a well-qualified engineer having studied for 4 years and then work for 6 years as an engineer on heavy machinery, specialising in hydraulics and welding. Nathan also has a hospitality background having managed a high-class restaurant owned by his family. This exposed him to all aspects of the service industry. Nathan is a self-confessed ´petrol head´ (motorsports. fanatic!) but when he is at home, he also enjoys riding his two horses and playing polo cross. Nathan has won the regional snooker cup 6 years in a row and has a very eclectic taste in music. Chief Engineer (Rotational) Arrie Gregg Arrie was born in Bequia, St Vincent and loved sailing from a very young age after growing up in a fisherman´s family on the sea. He had a desire to travel and explore the water so he joined the British Navy at the age of 20 where he spent 12 years as a fully qualified engineer. Seeking a new challenge, he joined BP and worked for 2 years on deep sea tankers. Arrie joined S/Y BLACK PEARL as 2nd Engineer and spent 4 and a half years in this role. After completing his Chief Engineer studies, he was looking for his next challenge and joined GALAXY. In his spare time, Arrie loves sports and has played football for the national under-17 football club. He also played basketball for the Navy and loves any racket sports. Engineer (Rotational) Steven Webster Having grown up in the shipbuilding town of Greenock on the west coast of Scotland, Steven was surrounded by shipping from a very young age. Both of his grandfathers worked in the shipyards, one as a turner working with lathes whilst the other a draughtsman working with the design and planning of ships. After school, Steven undertook a 3 year engineering apprenticeship at the Glasgow Nautical College leading to an Engineering Office of the Watch qualification. He then worked for 2 years onboard the P.S Waverley, which was build in 1947 with a triple expansion steam engine. Steven´s main passions are hiking, camping and motorsport. Engineer (Rotational) Justin Seaman Justin is from a little village called Duloe in Kernow, or Cornwall for the non-Cornish. He has been sailing since he was six years old. Justin completed an apprenticeship in electronics and telecommunications. After nine years of working for the Ministry of Defence he decided to live up to his surname and try his hand at yachting. He hasn’t looked back. Prior to Galaxy, Justin spent seven years working on the steam yacht NAHLIN. During his time on NAHLIN he cruised around the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Pacific. Justin’s spare time is dedicated to reading, mountain biking, computer games and modern jive. Executive Chef (Rotational) Gareth Evans Gareth’s passion for food was nurtured from a young age learning to cook with his grandmother in stunning rural New Zealand. Gareth spent 13 years prior to yachting in top restaurants and boutique lodges throughout New Zealand, and he was heavily involved in the local food community doing regular cooking demonstrations and seminars. Within that period, he won numerous culinary medals including the 2007 Young Chef of the Year and 2011 Kitchen Team of the Year. Gareth is excited to share his passion and love of food with you during your time onboard. Gareth is very passionate about New Zealand rugby on both a national and international front. Executive Chef (Rotational) Kieran Gilbert Kieran was born and raised in Newbury South West England. After moving to Bournemouth at the age of 16 Kieran was accepted onto the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts Specialised Chefs Scholarship, where his career started. This Scholarship led him to the 5* country house hotel Chewton Glen where he stayed for 5 years, progressing through the ranks. After gaining experience in Michelin Starred restaurant and cookery school, Kieran decided to pursue a career in yachting, working on a number of boats in the industry including M/Y Tango, M/Y CHOPI CHOPIi, M/Y LADY S and the 134m M/Y SERENE. More recently he has been Head Chef at the 5* 3 rosette Vineyard Hotel and Spa. Kieran is active and in his spare time you can expect to fine him on the golf course, or skiing down the slopes and even getting an adrenaline fix! Sous Chef Steven Wouters Steven grew up in the Flemish part of Belgium and has spent the last 20 years working in restaurants specialising in French / Belgian cuisine with other European influences. Steven likes to travel and discover new destinations, cultures and new food. He has spent his time traveling around Europe and Asia. Steven’s hobbies including hiking / off road cycling and running. Chief Stewardess (Rotational) Gillian Liszyk Gillian hails from the vibrant city of Melbourne, with roots nestled in the scenic Yarra Valley - Victoria´s own wine country. Her journey, deeply etched with passion and adventure, led her from an eight-year tenure in restaurants and restaurant management to the superyacht world in 2014. It was in the shimmering waters of Southeast Asia where she found a profound love for diving. As her voyages took her from the coasts of the USA to the Caribbean and the enchanting Mediterranean. When off-duty, Gillian´s zest for life shines through diving, water-skiing, staying active, or savouring a fine glass of wine, all while soaking in the natural splendour around her. Chief Stewardess (Rotational) Leah Iti Leah grew up in the seaside town of Mount Maunganui where at the age of 10 she competed in surfing and surf lifesaving events right into her adult years. Leah attended Auckland University of Technology where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in lens-based media and business. This took her to the Cook Islands as a Commercial Photographer for small wedding boutique. From there she discovered the yacht industry. Leah has been in yachting for over 5 years, aboard both charter and private vessels, providing a high level of service. With Leah’s creative side, she aims to give guests an unforgettable and unique experience with flair and excitement. In Leah’s spare time she enjoys scuba diving, fishing, surfing, and is up for any outdoor adventure! 2nd Stewardess Hannah Clark Hannah grew up around the beaches of Europe, surrounded by family and friends involved at many different levels within super yacht industry. Hannah moved to the USA four years ago with her parents and proceeded to join to yachting world just as they did. She loves traveling and experiencing different cultures, so this lifestyle suits her well. She enjoys swimming and any outside activities. She is very social and will help you with any needs you may have. Stewardess Rebecca Smith Rebecca was born in England however has lived most of her life in Wales. Rebecca loves to travel and recently spent some time in Savannah, Georgia exploring the historic haunted grounds to travelling to the southern hemisphere to visit south African where she enjoyed many wine farms in Cape town and even managed to tick a bucket list item off by sky diving out of a plane. Rebecca enjoys every moment of life, which led her to become a yacht stewardess - to travel the world and share experiences with incredible people. Stewardess Maeve Pitney Maeve is from the Outer Banks, North Carolina in the United States. She spent a good part of her childhood in the Netherlands and travelling the world with her parents who are in the air force. This is where her love of travel began. Maeve worked in a small wine bar in the Outer Banks where she grew her passion for service. After studying criminology and homeland security she decided to try something new and yachting seemed like the perfect career to follow. Maeve enjoys reading, journalling, water sports. A Summary of Motor Yacht GALAXY

Hailing from the Benetti Yachts yard in Italy the GALAXY is 56 m 184 (foot) in length. Launched to celebration in 2005 her interior design showcases the merit of Zuretti Interior Design. Superyacht GALAXY is able to accommodate up to 14 people with 15 crew. This large motor yacht has a helicopter landing facility. She will reach a top speed of 16 knots.

Building & Naval Architecture for Luxury Yacht GALAXY

Fratelli Benetti was the naval architect involved in the professional superyacht design work for GALAXY. Also the company Fratelli Benetti and Stefano Natucci successfully collaborated on this venture. Interior designer Zuretti Interior Design was responsible for the overall interior ambience. Created by Benetti Yachts the vessel was completed in the yacht producing country of Italy. She was successfully launched in Livorno in 2005 before being transferred to the owner. A spacious proportion is brought about with a total beam (width) of 10.4 m / 34.1 feet. With a 3.1m (10.2ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material steel was used in the building of the hull of the motor yacht. Her superstructure over the hull is built from aluminium. In 2010 further refitting and modernisation was in addition finished.

The Main Engines And The Crusie Speed The M/Y GALAXY :

The 3512B C HD engine powering the yacht is made by CATERPILLAR. Her propulsion units are twin screw propellers. The engine of the yacht gives 1850 horse power (or 1380 kilowatts). She is fitted with 2 engines. The sum power for the yacht is therefore 3700 HP or 2760 KW. With respect to stabalisers she was supplied with Vosper. The bow thrusters are Vosper.

With quarters for a maximum of 14 visiting passengers overnighting, the GALAXY accommodates them comfortably. This ship carries around 15 professional crewmembers to manage.

‘Galaxy’ is a 183.73ft  /56m  motor yacht built in 2005 by Benetti and last refitted in 2014. Stefano Natucci has created both her interior and exterior design, and she is a great choice for your next vacation.

Galaxy’s interior layout sleeps up to 12 guests in 6 rooms, including a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, 2 double cabins, 2 twin cabins and 2 pullman beds. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Each cabin is well appointed and offers the ideal place to rest after a long day of exploration.

PRESENTING GALAXY

At a length of 56 meters, and beam of 10.4 meters, the spectacular Galaxy powers through luxury yacht charter vacations for experiences of a lifetime. Eastern Mediterranean (Greece, Turkey), Western Mediterranean (France, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Croatia), and Caribbean (the Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St. Barts, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands). ACCOMMODATIONS

The owner’s suite is on the main deck, with a panoramic saloon in its forward part.

GALAXY then has a VIP cabin on the upper deck, and four more guest cabins on the lower deck, in the form of two doubles and two twins.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The interior decorator has specified a variety of exotic woods for this yacht such as eucalyptus, sycamore, plane tree, maple, platanier.

ELEVATOR AND ATRIUM

GALAXY has an elevator running the lower deck guest from the lobby all the way up to the sun deck. The lift carries four people at a time, and the shaft is in glass, tends to act as an atrium, carrying light through the heart of the yacht. The lift to the sundeck is built into the gymnasium.

Most meals will be taken on the upper deck in the semi-circular dining room which can be opened onto the aft deck, or closed off with circular doors. When guests wish to eat truly al fresco, there is a shaded dining area on the sundeck, under a full-beam awning.

REFIT DETAILS

She had an extensive interior refit. For instance, installation of a bar in the main salon and remodel of Master Suite, Master Observatory, Upper and Main Salons, and VIP Suite.  In addition, replacement of fabric panels in Lower guest cabins and replacement of all carpets, all loose furniture, all light fittings, all bathroom fittings in lower guest cabins. Further, new generators (x2) – Kilopak 200kW units installed and new Humidifiers for AC in Master Suite and Both Salons.  Moreover, superstructure painting – Cabin sides and inner bulwarks in all guest areas and deck recaulking – Upper Deck, Main Deck, and Fore Deck. Additionally, exterior cushions – Replacement of all cushions and covers and bridge equipment upgrades.  In specific 10cm Radar, 3cm Radar Scanner, AIS, CCTV, Fleet Broadband 250.

ADDITIONAL REFIT DETAILS

The extensive refit continues with AV system upgrade to include now having a centralized system with Crestron Control and Apple Technology and installation of new Tvro domes (x2) for uninterrupted TV coverage.  Also, It system upgrade – Increased wifi coverage throughout and installation of new VSat domes (2) for uninterrupted VSAT coverage.  More lighting upgrades such as interior and exterior lighting and Integration with Crestron.  Interior design featured blinds upgrade – Complete upgrade and integration with Crestron. As if these upgrades weren’t enough, installation of true connect 3G/4G/GSM signal booster and PABX & Telephone system upgrade.

WATERSPORTS TOY UPGRADE

What refit would be complete without updated water toys?  First, new guest tender – 7.1m Whitmarsh custom tender and new Jet Skis (x2) – Yamaha VXR 1800cc.  Second, Seabobs (x2) – Cayago L7 Titanium and Flyboard.  Then 6 sets of new Scubapro Dive Equipment, new Jobe Buoyancy vests and wetsuits, and Inflatable kayaks (x2).  Finally, interior updates included new gym equipment including Technogym Kinesis Machine, Treadmill, and Bike,  and general maintenance in all areas

The worlds of the desert festival, Burning Man, and superyachting may not seem like a natural fit, but the owners and designers of 184-foot Galaxy successfully made those worlds collide—and, in the process, showed how yacht design can be a lot more creative, and fast.

The five-month refit of Galaxy —a 2005 Benetti —was not only unusually speedy for a superyacht, but signals the emergence of a new kind of yachting, a clean-slate design that gave the owners the fantasyland interior that they wanted. Typically, most interior refits involve only cosmetic changes, and from the exterior, Galaxy looks almost painfully cookie-cutter. But inside, the bold, bespoke look may inspire others to follow their wildest dreams, rather than staying safe with a conventional design.

Njord by Bergman Design House created the eclectic interior. The refit was done by Monaco Marine and GM Group at the La Ciotat yard in France. “ Galaxy isn’t just another white superyacht on the French Riviera,” says Sarah Colbon, co-founder of the London-based design firm. “The yacht is its own out-of-world destination that touches all your senses and excites and embraces you with its energy.”

Burning Man is an annual gathering that takes place in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. It’s a mix of art, music and free expression that embraces individual creativity, no matter what that looks like. And it can look pretty wild. At the end of the festival is the ritual burning of “The Man,” a tall effigy made of wood. Galaxy ‘s owners, a leading American video-games developer and his partner, are frequent attendees. They were inspired by the festival and a love of entertaining, says Colbon, to create an “alternate universe.”

The expansive main deck has been transformed into a giant “floating private member’s club,” with bespoke décor and alternatively moody and brightly colored artwork. “The Thinker” by contemporary artist Joseph Klibansky reimagines Rodin’s classic sculpture as an astronaut, and there are also paintings by Camille Hannah and wall coverings by digital artist Dylan Cole, known for Disney’s Avatar and Maleficent .

The wallpaper is Cole’s first static project. “He’s never done this before, but he appreciated the concept of Galaxy and loved the sound of the owners,” says Colbon. “So he agreed to create the owners’ own Avatar world onboard.” If you look closely, you’ll spot secret creatures and “ET” aliens hidden in the otherworldly scenes that Cole created.

While the main deck is a nightclub that would look right at home on some alien world, the upper deck is designed for the opposite effect. It features a lounge and dining space for 12 guests which is “super calm,” according to the designer.

“What’s wonderful about Galaxy is you can switch it on and off,” says Colbon. “You can go from the ultimate club space with RGB lighting, party vibes and a DJ stand, to the serene upper deck where you can connect with your senses.”

When they’re done for the day, guests can retire to suites which have been named and styled after other planets. “We’ve designed Venus and Saturn with beautiful light pearls and golds, while Mars has these striking earthy red tones,” says Colbon. “Rather than being gimmicky, we’ve respected the colors and sensibilities of the planets.”

The master suite is even more bespoke: The bed’s headboard is designed with a metal bronze effect with tiny LED lights that create a star-gazing platform. The owners’ star signs also come through as the brighter lights, while their friends’ star signs are dimmer lights. On the ceiling is the owners’ favorite constellation.

The centerpieces of the yacht are the stairwell and elevator areas, hand-painted with an ombre, galaxy-toned effect.

Galaxy is filled with special features, including adjustable RGB lighting and smart materials like a specially engineered flooring. Colbon says that’s a world first for a superyacht. “The tight ripple effect stimulates the nerve endings on your feet when you walk on it and triggers endorphins to make you super relaxed,” she says. “It also looks like the ocean with tiny waves crashing on top of each other.”

The crew thought it was crazy to use this surface as flooring, says Colbon. “But they understand now.”

The five-month turnaround also seemed like a stretch, especially since it included a full exterior paint job, new name plates and a spa. And then there was the fantastical interior.

“This yacht shows how design can be done differently in every way,” says Colbon. “It ranges from a new type of owner to the ways that collaborations between the designers and yard can actually change the whole refit process. I think Galaxy is going to really shine.”

Experienced european owners brought together a top team of Dubois, Fitzroy and Tessier to produce their dream yacht: sleek, sophisticated and impressive under sail.

The push for a single level between bridge, saloon and cockpit, combined with ultra-sleek aesthetics, nudged the Dubois design team into new territory. “To get good visibility from the helmstations we had to work hard to lower the accommodation as much as possible, while keeping an open feeling” adds McKeon.

The interior, styled and drawn by Remi Tessier , features a combination of bleached timbers and white leather which results in clean modern lines and provides bright comfortable living areas.

Fitzroy Yachts Zefira

The sea trial was pubblished on Superyacht 31 – spring 2012

Zefira S/Y is one of those few yachts that became an attraction for yacht enthusiasts and professionals  well before she hit the water.

This yacht was designed and built with the experience and passion for sailing boats her owners demonstrated from the start as well as a naval engineering and a project design team from  Ed Dubois studio for the exterior, while Remi Tessier was responsible for all the interiors. Zefira was built in a yard which enjoys a  worldwide  reputation for the construction of large sailing yachts.

With such an opening introduction one can expect nothing less than something absolutely extraordinary, where the term used must be read in its best meaning to underscore something that has really nothing of the ordinary. We had the pleasure of talking with the owners who are currently sailing on their yacht after they had  carried out important work in the design phase with the project team to define specific guidelines and details.

Beyond the highly involving dialogue which ensued with flowing examples  of their own sailing experience and passion, we managed to grasp and better understand the idea behind the project which began with a seven metre sloop and  gradually developed in the course of the following 40 years  of which  many were spent at  sea. Putting words to emotion and feelings is never easy to do and  more so when they are other people’s. In this case however everything was a lot easier for us   thanks to our interviewee’s eloquent communicative capability.

The first point our attention was brought to was that Zefira is the largest sailing y

acht ever designed by Dubois with no fly bridge and built by Fitzroy Yachts in New Zealand.  This may strike our readers as a mere detail, but it is in fact one of the principal fundamentals outlining this project because it translates into flowing external lines and a unique profile when observed sideways on.

The choice  of doing without a fly bridge is somewhat unusual since up until  recently a “fly” had been widely accepted as  a run of the mill thing to have on a sailing yacht beyond a given size, but which nevertheless, Zefira is proud to do without giving cause for, among others ,  the following comment volunteered by some of the designers not involved in the project: “The world of sailing now stands  divided between before Zefira and after Zefira”.

Naturally enough this comment in particular is aimed at the yachts’ profile, which brings to a standstill what had become a consolidated practice on yachts this size. Aesthetics is principally  why the owners decided to do without the fly option as well as for practical reasons  they eloquently highlighted: without one  on a  50 metre sailing boat  there’s a complete total view of both what lies ahead up to the horizon and of the sail plan.

Moreover using a higher windswept and sun scorched horizontal plane rather than the main deck itself is by its very nature something destined to be exploited only sporadically and quite correctly in their opinion doesn’t justify having one.

The thought behind the whole project as the requests submitted to both designers and yard indicated,  were to enjoy a pure thorough bred for its performing lines and technical contents, capable of offering the sort of space and commodities expected when cruising extensively in all weather conditions. At a first glance the goal seems to have been easily achieved, but if  we then go into an in-depth analysis, the comments volunteered by project designers earlier seems surely appropriate. The husband and wife team (the owners) followed up on construction work from the initial stages to completion, working through the more important phases in close contact with the professional teams involved.

According to the owners the best part was witnessing the step by step progress of such an enterprise. We can understand the reasons why and genuinely  hope that in  the future such desire will generate the construction of other such extraordinary ships.

Several International prizes for design and technical contents have been awarded to Zefira. Dubois Naval Architects’ studio is proud of the recognitions bestowed since this is the largest sailing yacht project without a “fly” they’ve ever made so far and also for the passion and creativity expressed time and time again by the owners who incidentally had been the previous owners of another Dubois  project built by Alloy Yachts: Kokomo of London (now Nubero Blau). The challenge taken on by the studio was one that meant blending the huge experience acquired by the owners to innovative aesthetics, with a hull capable of delivering the sea-keeping qualities and performance requested.

The owners wished for a boat that could be another home from home: spacious, with a project design that looked ahead into the future. For this reason the design team was invited by the owners to pay them a visit and to take a look at their house to better understand what they wanted.

The choice of the yard was principally dictated by delivery times even if Fitzroy Yachts had been chosen also in function of preceding work carried out from Dubois projects.

Among some of the clever solutions highlighted by the owners in the course of our conversation we wish to mention the ease in steering they experienced and handling the yacht, of course aided by electronics and important data communication systems capable of monitoring and performing many of the required manoeuvres without hindering visibility.

The rig which is capable of carrying up to 3,000 square metres of canvass is per se a very interesting technical achievement inasmuch as it sports a 63.50 metre mast and can still be defined as being “light”. Obviously there’s a carbon fibre mast and boom, as well as fibre stays that have been purposely chosen to reduce weight high above the waterline which translates into less draught and better performance in breezes.

All of the choices adopted for Zefira mean she is very competitive on the race track even against racers and  in spite of the many commodities she carries with her.  As for the interiors and  much of the work put in by  Remi Tessier designer and the co-owner they enhanced an undoubted feeling of both tranquillity and elegance.

Gauged chromatic variety  meets the discerning eye as it takes in lighter and darker shades of handcrafted woodwork placed without ever causing excessive contrast, followed by polished steel elements and ad hoc lighting which enhances relaxation throughout every area. The space chosen to house each piece of furniture, is fruit of  careful study that has contributed into ensuring an uncompromised degree of comfort in the owners’ suite which is situated in the stern and in each of the three guest cabins as well.

One is a twin while the other two are double each one of them sports its own private bathroom. The crew quarters are situated in the bow area and with space for a lounge and crew mess room, which translates into staff’s quality living standards on board. The yacht’s convivial areas are also well distributed and large to ensure adequate privacy to guests and owners alike.

The electronics and navigation aids installed are the most modern on the market, with data and alarm control systems and displays in each of the two external command /control stations  as well as on the bridge deck as can be expected on a state of the art ship such as this. Dictated by reasons of space we have to limit our text to that which has so far been described even when the meeting with Zefira’s owners was so stimulating  we were prompted  to go further.

Ma solo in pochi sono riusciti ad accorgersi della sua presenza in porto, che è durata giusto una mattinata . “ Zefira ”, imbarcazione di 50 metri vincitrice dei prestigiosi riconoscimenti internazionali “Show boats Design Award 2011” e di “World Superyacht Awards 2011” come miglior yacht a vela del mondo per il 2011, è rimasta attraccata presso la banchina Bengasi del molo Cortese di Vibo Marina per poche ore, impegnata in attività di bunkeraggio. Costruita in Nuova Zelanda nei cantieri Fitzroy, ha uno scafo in alluminio e una trave con un raggio di quasi dieci metri. Gli interni sono stati disegnati da Remi Tessier e possono ospitare otto ospiti in quattro cabine. Amadeus Description

Built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard, and having undergone a total refit in 2018, S/Y Amadeus was designed to please the most demanding of yachtsmen. Built for smooth sailing, this elegant cutter rigged sloop has a sleek hull design, comfortably reaching top speeds of 12 knots and ensuring excellent sailing performance. S/Y Amadeus has just undergone this past winter (2018) a major refit such as total repaint top to bottom, new rigging (BSI Denmark), Novourania with new Evinrude 75hp outboard, Splash pool, new Bimini/Sprayhood/Awnings, new exterior fabrics and many other enhancements. In 2016 new “North Sails” were placed onboard. The yacht is maintained in excellent condition with a five-star crew year round. Her generous uncluttered teak deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables seating upto 12 guests and is a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Her forward area includes a splash pool and sun bathing area which can also be shaded with a removable awning. From the cockpit, a stairway leads to the light-filled spacious saloon offering ample seating, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a drink from the bar, and offers a formal dining area. This area also includes a LCD TV, entertainment center, ipod dock station, playstation, and is ideal for indoor activities. She can accommodate 10-12 guests in one full width master stateroom, two double bedded cabins each having one extra single bed and two twin bedded cabins which can be easily converted to double beds (upon request), thus, making her the only 5 double bedded sailboat in the Greek market. She also has a nice selection of toys which include water ski (adult and children), tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod and snorkeling gear.

CAPTAIN - Harry Fotopoulos Captain Harry is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain Class A’ Diploma. He also holds a Canadian Commercial Pilot license class B, sailing and speedboat license. He has over 15 years of experience onboard many types of Charter Yachts. He holds Certificates in GMDSS, Fire Fighting & First Aid, Personal Safety, Life Saving, and Ship Security. He has a great knowledge of the Greek islands and will navigate guests to remarkable destinations. During his one season on board he showed great leadership skills and received positive feedback from all guests. He is calm yet very outgoing and speaks very good English. DECKHAND - Konstantinos Santas CHIEF STEWARDESS - Mirella Davint Mirella has 8+ years of experience as a stewardess onboard charter and private yachts. She has a very pleasant personality and she aims to accommodate her guests to the fullest. Comments received from previous guests are memorable. This will be Mirella’s eighth season onboard. Mirella speaks English and she is 38 years old. ENGINEER - Stelios Mandos Stelios holds an Engineer Class B’ Diploma from the Greek Merchant Marine Academy as well as a Sailor’s License. He has over 15 years of experience onboard Ocean-Going Vessels and Charter Yachts. His hobbies include spearfishing and sailing. He speaks good English. Stelios is 45 years old, married with two children. CHEF - Thanasis Kiritsis Thanasis is 39 years old and has worked as a chef for more than 20 years in numerous hotels restaurants, yachts and resorts including owning his own pastry shop / bakery for 5 years. Thanasis looks forward to welcoming his guests on board and introducing them to his culinary world. He speaks good English and Greek. He is a young chef full of energy, skills and passion towards his job. We are confident that he will serve his guests unforgettable flavors. ASSISTANT STEWARDESS - Anastasia Yurash Anastasia is 31 years old and has been in the yachting industry since 2021. Her working experience includes 7 years as a housekeeper and assistant stewardess. Anastasia speaks very good English. One of Anastasia’s strongest attributes is her appetite for work. She is also very sociable, welcoming and looks forward to having guests on board S/Y Amadeus. Her hobbies include Latin dancing, snowboard and yoga.

A General Description of Sailing Yacht AMADEUS

AMADEUS was previously registered as project/yacht name Amadeus 1er. This 33 metre (109 ft) luxury yacht was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1991. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS is a well proportioned superyacht. The yacht is a modern sloop with a cutter rig. The naval architecture office whom authored the design work on this ship was Philippe Briand. Luxury yacht AMADEUS is a quality yacht that is able to accommodate as many as 12 guests on board and has a total of 5 crew members.

Sailing yacht AMADEUS was built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard .The yacht features superb sailing characteristics which are complimented by her spacious interior and abundant deck space. Sailing sloop AMADEUS can accommodate 10 passengers in five cabins. With one large master stateroom and four additional cabins which are all air conditioned and have en suite bathrooms. She also has two separate salons and a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered with seating. The fore deck has an unique pool on deck and swimming in the sea is made accessible by a large swim aft platform.

The Construction & Naval Architecture relating to Luxury Yacht AMADEUS

Philippe Briand was the naval architect firm involved in the formal nautical design work for AMADEUS. Also the company Philippe Briand skillfully collaborated on this undertaking. In 1991 she was actually launched to triumph in Marans and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the yacht owner. Dynamique Yachts completed their new build sailing yacht in France. A reasonable proportion is brought about with a maximum beam (width) of 7.5 metres / 24.6 feet. With a 3.6m (11.8ft) draught (maximum depth) she is reasonably deep. The material composite was used in the building of the hull of the sailing yacht. Her superstructure above deck is built with the use of composite. Over the deck of AMADEUS she is 32.7 (107.3 ft) in length. In 2004 extra refitting and modernisation was also finished.

Engines & Speed For S/Y AMADEUS:

She is driven by twin screw propellers. The main engine of the ship gives 375 horse power (or 276 kilowatts). She is equiped with 2 engines. The combined thrust for the boat is therefore 750 HP / 552 KW.

Bestowing bedding for a maximum of 12 yacht guests sleeping aboard, the AMADEUS accommodates them in style. Normally the vessel requires approximately 5 professional crewmembers to run.

Her master cabin features a walk around king bed, desk/vanity, and en-suite bathroom. Additionally, there are two guest cabins each with a queen bed convertible to two twins, and two guest cabins each with a queen bed and twin bed. Each guest cabin has an en-suite.

Her main salon has a spacious, contoured conversational area, along with a large, flatscreen T.V. The aft deck features al fresco dining with Bimini top. Up on deck there are sun pads and a splash pool for you and your guests to enjoy.

Watersports offered include a 15 foot tender with 75hp engine, water skis for adults and children, tube, wakeboard, kayak, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, and rendezvous diving.

Sailing yacht AMADEUS is a stunning 110 ft yacht available for charter in Greece. With a clean, spacious teak deck and a unique outdoor saloon that can seat up to 12 guests across two tables, it’s the perfect place for outdoor dining and entertainment. The deck saloon can also be enclosed with a special canopy and roll-up windows, making it suitable for use in all weather conditions. At the front of the boat, there’s a splash pool and sunbathing area with a removable awning for shade.

Inside the boat, a staircase from the cockpit leads to a well-lit and roomy saloon area with plenty of seating, including a formal dining area, bar, LCD TV, entertainment center, iPod dock station, and Playstation. Sailing Yacht AMADEUS can accommodate 10-12 guests in five large cabins, including a full-width master stateroom and two double cabins, each with an extra single bed. The two twin cabins can also be converted to doubles upon request, making her the only sailboat on the Greek market with five double beds.

To add to the fun, sailing yacht AMADEUS also comes with a range of water toys, including adult and children’s water skis, tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod, and snorkeling gear. She was built by Dynamique Yachts in 1996 and underwent a refit in 2014/2018.

Accomodation is offered for 10 -12 guests in 5 spacious cabins: Master cabin forward features a double bed, vanity unit and generous storage facilities, as well as audio/visual entertainment. The en-suite includess a large bath tub, shower and separate WC. Two identical double cabins with additional single bunks situated forward. Two identical double cabins situated aft which can be convertible to twins. (Total 5 double beds) All cabins with en suite facilities and audio/visual entertainment.

A professional crew of 5-6 members are accommodated in separate quarters.

Charter the AMADEUS

AMADEUS is a 110-foot sailing yacht that can accommodate ten to twelve passengers in five staterooms as follows: a spacious Owner’s stateroom with a double bed, a vanity and an entertainment unit including TV, DVD and music system; two cabins with a double bed and an additional single bed; two cabins with two twin beds each. All staterooms have en suite bathrooms, a TV, DVD and CD player. There are two separate salons onboard as well as a full dining room. The aft deck is fully covered and has seating for all guests to dine in the open air. Forward of the cockpit is a lovely cushioned area for sunning and an unusual pool is found in the fore of the yacht. Swimming in the sea is made accessible by the large swim aft platform.

Built in 2008, Amadeus offers guest accommodation for up to 6 guests in 3 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and one twin cabin. There are 4 beds in total, including 1 queen, 1 double and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 2 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. Guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.
