Top 11 Beach Clubs

The first of Benetti’s 50m B.Now superyachts with a signature Oasis deck splashed this month, signaling that big-statement beach clubs are here to stay. The open stern of the 155-foot Oasis, with its transparent swimming pool, is different from the others in this collection. But its overall purpose is similar: To use the stern to enhance the vessel’s onboard way of life.

The range of beach-club features in these top motoryachts and sailing vessels run from cryosaunas to overwater terraces and mosaic hammams to counter-current pools. On some are relaxing zen lounges that open on three sides to the water, while others are defined by big splashes of color. Beyond the recent launches, we also included several concepts to show what designers envision as the beach club of the future.

‘Aquijo’ (282 feet) Vitters/Oceanco

superyacht beach club

Most beach clubs come into their own when the yacht is at anchor, but aboard Aquijo , the world’s largest ketch, watertight doors mean the yacht’s roomy enclosed beach club can still be used when sailing at top speeds. The extensive indoor space includes a three-sided seating area for entertaining at the water’s edge. If guests tire of the large central Jacuzzi, there is a spa pool naturally lit by an overhead skylight to keep them amused and a separate hammam and sauna tucked out of sight behind glass doors. When at anchor, the transom door lifts providing access to a wide aft deck, a large swim platform, and all the cool blue views.

‘Project X’ (288-feet) Golden Yachts

Beach club

It’s typically the surrounding seascapes that command attention from the decks. But Project X ’s glass-encased swimming pool gives those vistas a run for their money. Clad in silver Xs—the symbol that features prominently throughout the yacht—its glass sides were conceived to allow the adults to keep an eye on the children when playing, as well as bringing additional light into the beach club. The bottom of the pool sits suspended in the center of the open-plan space, yet is accessed from the main deck aft. The rest of the beach club is for relaxation, with two saunas, a massage/beauty room, and a large, curved sofa that rotates to face out to sea for when the kids move from the pool to the ocean.

‘Tatiana’ (262 feet) Bilgin Yachts

superyacht beach club

Spanning a total area of 1,184 square feet and considered one of the best superyacht beach clubs in the world, Tatiana ’s multi-level recreational offering features two pools—one above the other—and is directly connected to the main salon via a dramatic underlit staircase. When not swimming in the enclosed 30-foot-long freshwater pool or in the glass-bottomed second pool on the main deck, you can unwind by sinking into one of the many plush sofas or stepping into the hammam. There is also a wetbar with glass columns, Carrara marble, and a backlit blue-agate floor. When the yacht is at anchor, fold-out terraces on both sides make your overwater treatment dreams come true.

‘Flying Fox’ (446 feet) Lürssen

superyacht beach club

Holding the record for the largest and most expensive charter yacht on the market, it’s not surprising that the beach club aboard Flying Fox is dressed to impress. It’s accessed from the cockpit via teak steps that descend into the beach club, where you’re met by an exquisite mosaic-tiled centerpiece and contemporary cedar wall paneling. An elevated Jacuzzi bathed in sunlight from the skylight above is surrounded by loungers and a collection of doors that lead off to various wellness amenities, including a hammam, treatment rooms and the first cryosauna to appear aboard a yacht. The indoor setup is twinned with an equally impressive outdoor arrangement that includes a large swim platform and the latest water toys, from inflatables to e-foils.

‘Project FB605’ (164 feet) Benetti

superyacht beach club

Project FB605 is the first of Benetti’s B.Now yachts to feature its all-new “Oasis Deck.” The yacht, which launched this month, has an open-air beach club aft, with folding terrace wings that extend the beach club width, and an integrated infinity pool that sits flush with the deck. It’s joined by a waterfront lounge that opens out onto terraced areas, a gym for open-air workouts and biminis for shade. Designed by RWD, Project FB605 is commissioned by an experienced female owner looking to recreate the lavish beach club amenities found aboard Benetti’s 351-foot Lana  but on a smaller 164-foot platform. Judging by the yacht’s seamless journey from main salon to open water, it looks like the design team has reached that goal.

‘Ahpo’ (377 feet, 7 inches) Lürssen

superyacht beach club

No expense was spared when it came to Ahpo ’s enormous beach club that doubles as a wellness area. Nuvolari Lenard’s styling of the multifunctional space places the plunge pool and hammam as the mosaic stars of the show in an intricate display of vibrant artisanship. There is also a sauna for guests to step into straight from the sea, a massage room for soothing muscles after a day on the water, a Jacuzzi, and a bar. The craftsmanship extends to curved metalwork and handpicked natural furnishings in a setting that brings enjoyment right to the water’s edge.

‘Lady S’ (305-feet) Feadship

superyacht beach club

Chic from top to toe, the beach club aboard Feadship’s Lady S is a tale of craftsmanship. From the moment guests step aboard, all eyes are on the glass-bottomed pool that sits above the beach club’s lounge area. It filters dappled sunlight onto the circular sofa below, surrounded by a large plunge pool with a hammam to the side. A large television screen serves as the backdrop to the seating area. When it’s time to step outdoors, two side terraces provide overwater sunbathing spots.

‘O’Pari’ (312 feet) Golden Yachts

superyacht beach club

The beach club of Golden Yachts’ 312-foot O’Pari is a sweeping combination of indoor and outdoor space. The indoor includes a lounge, massage room, a dry sauna, and a wet hammam. If you want a dip in the ocean, it’s right there off the transom. There are also two freshwater pools on the decks above.

‘Victorious’ (278.8-feet) AKYacht

superyacht beach club

The sea-level beach club aboard Victorious has the ocean as a soundtrack and framed vistas for its artwork. Occupying an enormous 2,153 square feet on the lower deck, the beach club doubles as a wellness center with a large swimming pool in the center. Two separate lounge and bar areas mean you can mingle at leisure or enjoy solo time by the sea. Drop-down sea terraces port and starboard bring a cool sea breeze and easy access to the water. There are also a dedicated gym and a hammam for guests who like to sweat, while a treatment room, a beauty salon, and option of an overwater massage will keep everyone else more than happy.

‘Kaze’ (197 feet) Philippe Briand

superyacht beach club

It’s not only motoryachts where the beach-club life aquatic is being imagined on a major scale. Kaze , which translates as “wind” in Japanese, was recently unveiled by designer Philippe Briand. The 197-foot sailing yacht concept boasts a supersized beach club with unfolding bulwarks to form overwater terraces and a large platform with integrated steps that descend below the waterline for easy access to the sea. The hybrid ketch is defined by high internal volumes, a wide beam, and a connection to the outdoors. The imaginative beach club is closer in size to those found on much larger yachts, bringing a gigayacht space to a superyacht setup.

‘Aegir’ (164-feet)

superyacht beach club

When it came to beach club ideas for his 164-foot yacht concept “Aegir,” designer Chris Lane deviated from a traditional water’s-edge layout in favor of a Scandinavian inner sanctuary. Accessed from the main deck via an internal floating staircase, the open-plan arrangement sits behind the swim platform in a space that houses a sauna, a steam room, a dedicated gym, and an indoor plunge pool. A cascading waterfall connects a second marble-fronted plunge pool on the aft deck to the 13-foot swimming pool below, which features a mirrored ceiling to make the enclosed space larger. Drop-down side terraces give a nod to the concept’s hygge-inspired theme and add an extra layer of privacy.

The Most Impressive Superyacht Beach Clubs in the Business

Written By: Naomi Chadderton

Designing a superyacht is no easy feat. From lighting and cabin space to furniture, materials, artwork and accessories, there are 101 factors to consider. First things first? The beach club.

Oasis 40 beach club

Perhaps more important than ever before, the leisure space at a yacht’s stern, otherwise known as its beach club, has recently catapulted its way to the top of the list of priorities for superyacht owners who, alongside their designers and superyacht builders, are placing more emphasis on being close to the ocean than ever before.

From terraces complete with sea views to heavenly wellness centres, these seven slick superyachts are taking beach club design to a whole new level.

As one of the newest yachts on the charter market, built just last year in 2021, the 64.76m superyacht Resilience was certainly designed with entertaining in mind. Brainchild of Enrico Gobbi and the Team 4 Design team, it’s home to two serene pools, one of which is located on the main deck aft with steps that lead down to the swim platform. Here the stern door folds down to sea level, creating an extremely sleek beach club with its own lounge complete with Murano glass bar.

An ideal setting to have a drink or two while waiting for your crew to swing around one of the Castoldi tenders, jet skis or many other water toys, it also makes for both a comfortable and stylish spot to laze away the day. On a wellness break? Resilience also comes complete with gym, Turkish bath and sea-view massage room on the lower deck.

Resilience beach club

A popular charter yacht since her inception back in 2008, the Abeking & Rasmussen-built B2 is a first-class vessel in every regard complete with fully-equipped gym, massage room and elevator to all decks.  Yet while her most impressive feature is perhaps her glass-bottomed pool which is located to aft on the main deck, what lies below it is one of the most stylish beach clubs on board a charter yacht which, with fold-down balconies port and starboard and the influx of light through the pool above, is bathed in rippled sunshine. Designed to be welcoming, she also has access to a whole host of advanced water toys – a strong selling point for any guest.

B2 beach club

Taking the seaside resort philosophy to a whole new level, the Benetti Oasis 40m deck is as grand as they come. In fact, so successful is the superyacht’s design that she won a prize in the DNA Paris Design Award for its interior design, which was led by the team at Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture.

Flowing seamlessly from the cabin, the aft deck offers uninterrupted 270-degree views of the glistening ocean which is possible thanks to the pair of fold-down bulwarks that create free-flowing additional space. Guests will also find an integrated pool as part of the deck, which sits alongside loungers and a sun pad, making it one of the comfiest beach clubs to laze about on in style. If the sun gets too much for you, there’s also a partially-shaded space in which to recline.

Oasis 40 beach club 2

Discreet sliding glass doors to keep the beach club cool, even on a scorching hot day? Check. Fully fitted bar? Check. White marble steam room inspired by the Turkish Hammams? Check. Everything about O’Ptasia’s serene beach club screams good times, right down to the generous swim platform with additional section that raises and lowers for easy access to the sea. But that’s hardly surprising seeing as her design was masterminded by the renowned Studio Vafiadis. Ideal for all weathers, whether you want full access to O’Ptasia’s array of water toys or simply want to relax on your sunbed with a freshly-mixed smoothie, this is the place to do it.

When Tatiana’s owner briefed Bilgin about the design of his new superyacht, the beach club was the first port of call. “They spend a significant part of summer on board so it was vital the yacht had generous socialising areas including a huge spa and beach club,” explains Tugba Sengun, marketing director of Bilgin Yachts. Created in collaboration with Antalya-based Unique Yacht Design, the team did just that.

Unusually placed on the lower deck in the middle of the yacht, Tatiana’s beach club is home to a stunning swimming pool complete with a special heating system that allows it to be enjoyed all year round. Its clear glass sliding doors allow for a sea view even in cold weather, with one opening up to a massage room and the other leading outside where sunbeds await.

Rather impressively, the beach club is also directly connected to the main saloon via a dramatic staircase and features a second pool – the two sit one above the other with the main deck pool boasting a glass bottom, allowing guests to see their friends and family swimming from below. Elsewhere, a fully-equipped gym with sauna on the portside lower deck and large movie theatre seal the deal.

When Golden Yachts unveiled is 95 metre charter yacht O’Pari back in 2020, it’s clear that the Greek yacht builder used its experience gained from the 13 vessels conducted before her to really outdo itself. Once more drafting in esteemed partner Studio Vafiadis to work its magic on her design scheme, she comes complete with huge longitudinal swimming pool on the bridge aft deck, touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck, forward jacuzzi on the sundeck plus outdoor cinema where guests can relax at the end of the day with a screening of the latest films under starlight.

Perhaps most impressive though is her multi-faceted beach club which has been painstakingly designed with guest enjoyment in mind. Here guests can relax with a treatment in the massage room, dry Finnish sauna or Turkish Hammam, with easy access to both the main and spa pools. Surrounded by sliding glazings, the lounge creates the feeling of being outside yet in the comfort of air conditioning, while a louvre-style ladder leads guests into the water below.

If you’re after a luxury wellness charter, the 91.5m Oceanco superyacht Tranquility could be just the ticket. Not only is her impressive lower deck wellness area home to a sauna, a hammam and massage room to name a few, but at 42 square metres, her open-plan beach club comes complete with bathing platform, fully-equipped bar and indoor lounge area that is the perfect chillout haven.

A generous and welcoming space, it also serves as the gateway through which guests embark when the yacht is at-anchor and from here they have direct access to the generous toy and dive store from the beach club and swim platform, as well as the aforementioned wellness area and its 64 square metre spa and 57 square metre gym. Whether you choose to fold out her balcony to starboard and roll out your yoga mat or pull up a sun lounger onto her bathing platform before cooling off in the sea, it doesn’t get more zen than this.

The Best Superyacht Beach Clubs For Easy Access To The Water

Expansive beach clubs onboard yachts for sale or charter..

The entertaining sundeck , comfortable bow seating, aft deck al fresco dining, and cozy main salon get all the attention on a yacht. But let’s not forget the humble beach club — a platform along the waterline between the port and starboard staircases.

A superyacht beach club is more than a place to swim and splash around, it’s an additional socializing and entertainment area. Often called the swim platform or transom garage, some yachts capitalize on this space to offer lounges, dining, a wet bar, gym, or spa. And boy, does it pay off. Beach clubs add a noticeable boost of luxury to the yacht. Whether you’re keen to transform your yacht’s garage or seeking a yacht with an established swim platform — we found 5 superyachts with the best beach clubs. Let’s get the party started.

1. ABBRACCI | 180′ Heesen 2011

When all of the water toys are removed from the garage, the area can be converted into an enormous covered beach club complete with a cedar-finished sauna and day head. It boasts enough space for umbrellas, chairs, or even a dining table.

Contact Denison yacht broker Thom Conboy to inquire about ABBRACCI.

Superyacht Beach Clubs

Nearly a decade ago, the stern of a superyacht wasn’t utilised for anything more than a temporary storage space for kayaks or diving equipment, it’s now been transformed to a stylish space for charter guests to relax and unwind. Beach clubs create an additional space for relaxing, dining, swimming – in fact, they enable guests to be as close to the water whilst still surrounded in total luxury. Our charter team have rounded up five amazing beach clubs within our charter fleet.

Launched by Sanlorenzo in 2017, the award-winning, 52m superyacht features a huge beach club that many other charterers will lust after. Think fold-down balconies, sauna, gym, and a glass ceiling looking upward to the yacht’s swimming pool. And for that James Bond touch, the centre section can lower and flood to allow tenders to drive right in.

Imagine yourself here with an ice-cold drink and the warm summer sunshine on you, it might just make for one of the most perfect moments during a yacht charter vacation.

Built by Sunseeker in 2014, this 47m yacht offers a huge amount of living space with over her three decks. With five generously sized cabins, the main salon and dining room, a sky lounge, an upper sun deck and an impressive beach club she makes an incredible yacht for charter.

The beach club is a destination in itself. Guests can relax here with drinks or snacks at the water’s edge and watch the world go by or get in on the action with the vessel’s great selection of water toys.

Built in 2019 by Benetti, this stunning superyacht has an iconic beach club awaiting you. This 42.6m superyacht offers multiple areas to enjoy the outdoors, from her stylish beach club with a teak-lined bar to alfresco dining on the bridge deck aft. Not only does SKYLER offer ample outdoor areas for your charter, this superyacht also offers balconies that fold out from master suite on both port and starboard, at the touch of a button!

SPIRIT’S airy beach club is all about sun, sea and relaxation. The transom lowers to create a magnificent teak beach and private swim platform that ensure endless hours of relaxation for everyone.

She accommodates up to 12 guests on private overnight charters in five staterooms and the main deck has a roomy aft deck complete with comfortable seating and an alfresco dining option.

Available to charter in Australia through Ahoy Club, perfect for family vacations or private events.

If space is an important feature when chartering, then look no further than the 83m megayacht HERE COMES THE SUN. In addition to an elevator that accesses all decks, a movie theatre, Jacuzzi, infinity pool and grand piano, she also offers a unique beach club for sunbathing and entertaining. With fold-down terrace doors on both starboard and port sides and drop-down stern, this might just be one of our favourite beach clubs.

These are only a selection of yachts available to charter through Ahoy Club that have beach clubs as yacht amenities. For more information or to make an enquiry, please contact our charter team.

Club class: How the beach club became yachting's most fashionable must-have

No self-respecting superyacht can do without a beach club these days, but the fashionable feature has come a long way in the past two decades. Claire Wrathall dangles her legs in the water...

Ask the yacht designer Dickie Bannenberg to define “beach club” in the context of a yacht, and he almost demurs. “I guess the word ‘beach’ is the misnomer here,” he says, calling to mind as it does thoughts of pale sand, whispering palms and indeed languorous lunches at Le Club 55 near Saint-Tropez or an outpost of Nikki Beach.

“Really it’s just a relaxation space with the formality dialled down and the sense of connection to the sea dialled up,” says Simon Rowell, the other half of the partnership Bannenberg & Rowell, whose 70 metre motor yacht Joy won the prize for Best Exterior Design and Styling - Motor Yacht Above 48 metres at this year’s ShowBoats Design Awards . The Feadship’s large transom door rises to provide shade for the aft bathing platform, revealing a comfortable, beanbag-filled space that also serves as a cinema – hence the immense video wall – and nightclub.

The fashion for beach clubs has parallels in the vogue for open plan living on land, as sitting rooms, dining rooms and show kitchens have fused to become one large unified domestic space. They have come a long way since the early 1990s, when Lady Moura first revealed her “beach” – two hydraulic platforms that folded down from the hull to reveal a cabana and provide a swimming platform, on which real sand was spread.

Where once onboard beach clubs were converted from lazarettes or garages with retractable swim platforms that slid out over the ocean from cassettes contained within the deck, they are now increasingly integrated into the yacht’s principal living spaces and resemble something more akin to the veranda of a beach house, complete with bar and sunbeds, from which you can dive – or lower yourself – directly into the water.

“You want the beach club to be part of the whole boat, to connect with the rest of the deck and the interior,” says Rowell. “It’s a proper architectural challenge.” And also a fun one. “We’re trying to get sand over quite a large floor on one very large project we’re working on,” he continues, “although we may have to put it under glass so it doesn’t get walked over the rest of the boat. So it may end up being a visual and textural thing rather than something to put your feet in.”

Dedicated beach clubs are not, however, exclusively the preserve of the bigger superyachts. The designer Claydon Reeves , whose yacht Solis won her category at last year’s World Superyacht Awards , has found a way to incorporate “a pretty decent beach club” into a 36 metre yacht currently under construction at the Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands, without requiring it to double as tender or toy storage.

“It’s not entirely simple that you take your tenders out and you have a beach club,” says founding partner Mike Reeves. Even if the chocks recess back into the deck and the crane can be discreetly stowed, a garage is still an essentially industrial space. “Invariably,” he continues, “when you bring a boat out of the water there will be a little diesel slime on it that drips on to the deck, which the crew will have to clear up. And what do you do when the tenders aren’t out?”

His solution has been to put the tender garage athwartships and the beach club behind it on the aft deck, which they have kept as close as possible to the waterline and which is large enough to accommodate a bar area, dayhead, space for a massage table and spa treatments and storage for towels. Beyond the deck “a platform pivots out from the bottom edge to make a larger space just above the water that you can sit on”. To reinforce the sense of a unified space the decking is laid in a pattern that extends beyond retractable glass doors into the interior spaces “so you get the idea of the inside and outside merging”.

The evolution of beach clubs is the most overt example of a broader trend towards blurring indoor and outdoor spaces on board. “On Solis , we tried to make the transition between the saloon and the aft deck invisible,” says Reeves. “We decreased the height of the balustrade and used glass bulwarks.” Cut-outs in the sofa backs also draw the eye out to sea.

There’s a reason, then, that so many of the designers that the venerable manufacturer of marine-grade deck furniture Summit collaborates with are producing pieces that can be seen through. Take the sofa, lounge chairs and glass-topped coffee table that Linley has created for Summit, Mark Anders’ art deco-influenced sunbed, and Brian Kane’s bar chairs and chaise longue.

The colours of the décor can reinforce the sense of unity too, with earth tones to echo the teak deck, and turquoises and sea greens that speak of the seascape. Certainly the latter are evident in the range of woven outdoor seating by Italian designer Paola Lenti and showcased by  Sabrina Monteleone , founder and proprietor of Sabrina Monte-Carlo, the Côte d’Azur’s go-to emporium for deck furniture, furnishings and table settings, when the pair collaborated on the Upper Deck Lounge at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show .

They were evident too on Galactica Super Nova , the 70 metre Heesen-built yacht designed by Monteleone’s partner Espen Øino , which also won two major prizes at the 2017 ShowBoats Design Awards, including the Judge’s Special Award. Her stern and side terrace can be transformed into a 44 square metre beach club, partially sited below the six metre glass-bottomed infinity pool, which filters light into the covered area with a lit-from-within bar, equipped with a Kegerator, so that crew can serve draught beer. At night it becomes a party space, with mood lighting and a DJ station.

Ultimately the scope for what is possible in an onboard beach club is limited only by the imagination. With just two decks, the yacht concept Zen (an 80 metre Feadship with Sinot interiors that was unveiled in Monaco last autumn) stands to break new ground in so far as its barge-like shape maximises the size of the principal living space, which sweeps down to a single aft deck/beach club set just above the water.

Hareide Design Norway’s renderings for a projected 108 metre open plan vessel, with a garden at its heart and a 20 metre swimming pool, are more extraordinary yet. Its lower aft deck slopes into the ocean so that the edge is lapped by waves you can paddle in. In the words of its designer, Einar Hareide, “We wanted to create a platform for experiencing the beauty of nature and the changing elements.” It may be far-fetched, but it reflects current desires. For isn’t a desire for proximity to the ocean the principal reason for wanting a yacht? In which case scope to dangle one’s feet in the water from the boat ought to be part of the package.

Disney’s Beach Club vs Yacht Club: Which Should You Choose?

posted by James Brockbank on September 3, 2022 // last updated on September 19, 2022

One of the best parts of planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida , is choosing where to stay.

Disney owns and operates more than 20 resorts and other accommodations on their central Florida property, in addition to the dozens of others nearby.

If Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort are among your options, you might be wondering which is better. After all, they’re located directly next door to each other, and the theming is similar.

Despite having much in common, these two hotels have some key differences that make them distinct. Below, we’ll talk about the perks of staying in one of Disney’s hotels and what the Yacht and Beach Clubs have in common. Then, we’ll dive into what makes them distinct. That way, you can make the best choice for your family vacation.

Early Genie+ Access

Transportation, on-site guest relations, deluxe resorts, the skyliner, the boardwalk, room accommodations, entertainment and recreation, disney vacation club villas, recreation and entertainment, convention center, which should you choose: disney’s beach club or yacht club, perks of staying in a walt disney world hotel.

Experienced Disney vacationers will tell you that staying “on-property” has many advantages that can help you get the most out of your time in the most magical place on earth.

Each day, the four theme parks in Walt Disney World– Magic Kingdom , EPCOT , Hollywood Studios , and Animal Kingdom –open 30 minutes early for resort guests. That means you can get to the park in the morning and head to a couple of your favorite attractions without worrying about crowds.

At times in the past, Disney had offered “Extra Magic Hours” when parks opened even earlier or stayed open late in the evening for resort guests. While Disney isn’t offering them now, it certainly could return in the future.

Genie+ is the paid reservation system that allows guests to reserve times to visit top attractions. Time slots become available to park guests when the park opens for the day.

However, guests with resort reservations linked to their accounts can make their first selections at 7 AM. That’s a distinct advantage over everyone else. What’s more, reservations for some of the most popular rides sometimes go quick.

Disney provides regular, reliable transportation from all of its hotels to its four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs shopping and entertainment district. Buses run to each destination from every hotel about every 30 minutes.

In addition, there are boats and water taxis, the Skyliner gondola system, the monorail, and walking trails from several resorts. Below, we’ll talk about what’s available at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

An often-overlooked advantage of staying at a Disney hotel is on-site guest relations. You can visit this desk to take care of a range of questions and issues before visiting the parks. You can purchase or verify tickets, make and confirm park and dining reservations, and schedule tours and special events.

Of course, guest relations is available at the entrance to all theme parks and water parks. However, there can be long lines, especially at the beginning of the day. What’s more, visiting the desk in the park takes away from your time enjoying attractions.

What Do the Yacht and Beach Clubs Have in Common?

If you’ve done your research, you may already know that the Yacht and Beach Clubs are next to each other. They’re also often discussed together since they share so many amenities and features.

Before we discuss what makes them unique so you can choose between them, it’s helpful to look at what they share. That way, you can get a total picture of what it would be like to spend your family vacation there.

superyacht beach club

Both the Beach Club and Yacht Club are Disney Deluxe Resorts . This is the top tier of hotels on Disney property, ahead of value resorts like Art of Animation and All-Star Sports and moderate resorts such as Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside.

As you might expect, deluxe resorts have the best of everything. The rooms tend to be larger, the hotel lobbies and fixtures more opulent, and the theming is more detailed. There are better pools (with slides), more amenities (such as spas and shops), and more dining options.

Deluxe resorts have several unique features and perks. Sometimes, Disney parks stay open late for guests of deluxe resorts. They tend to have great locations with better access to the parks and transportation options. Of course, it all comes at a price. Deluxe resorts start at around $450 and increase sharply from there.

The location is one of the best things about staying at the Yacht or Beach Club. They are two of the three resorts located directly near EPCOT.

If you enjoy the thrilling attractions in Future World or a leisurely stroll through the World Showcase, you might like the Yacht and Beach Clubs even more than the Magic Kingdom monorail hotels–The Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, and the Contemporary.

Let’s zoom in on the three things that make this location spectacular.

The Yacht and Beach Clubs are about a ten or 15-minute walk from EPCOT . One of four theme parks in Walt Disney World, EPCOT has so much to offer. It’s split into two major worlds, and they almost feel like two separate worlds.

Future World has some of the most thrilling attractions in any of the parks, including Soarin’ , Test Track , and the brand new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, Cosmic Rewind .

Then, there’s the World Showcase, with pavilions from 11 countries around the world. Sample food, drink, merchandise, and culture without leaving central Florida.

The new Skyliner transportation system is just before you reach the World Gateway entrance to EPCOT. The Skyliner is a gondola system that connects several popular spots around the “world,” including Hollywood Studios, Riviera Resort, and several other hotels.

The Skyliner has revolutionized how people get around Walt Disney World. Many guests hated waiting for and riding buses to and from the parks, but the Skyliner has turned that experience into a ride in itself.

Guests at the Yacht and Beach Club can easily walk to the Skyliner. The Beach Club is a bit closer, but it only takes about ten minutes from the Yacht Club lobby.

The Boardwalk Hotel is on the same walking trail as the Yacht and Beach Club. In addition to the hotel is the Boardwalk entertainment area. While it’s much smaller than Disney Springs, you can find shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

One of the Boardwalk’s favorites is Jelly Rolls, a dueling piano bar. The Atlantic Dance Hall opens nightly for drinks and dancing.

Most room accommodations at the Yacht and Beach Club are the same. Standard rooms include one king or two queen beds, and some have a pull-down bed under the television.

Daily housekeeping is included, and guests can choose from water, pool, and garden views. In addition, both hotels have suites and a club or concierge level.

The best part of staying at the Yacht or Beach Club is arguably the main pool. The most popular on Disney property, Stormalong Bay encompasses three acres of space. There’s a lazy river, three whirlpool spas, and a life-size replica of a shipwreck with a 230-foot waterslide. It’s partially sand-bottom, and there’s a sandy beach to play on.

If you prefer a quieter poolside experience, there are three more leisure pools for use by guests at the Beach and Yacht Clubs: the Admiral Pool, Dunes Cove, and the Tidal Pool. All three have whirlpool spas and other amenities.

superyacht beach club

The Yacht and Beach Club share transportation, and the great news is how easy it is to get around Walt Disney World from both of these hotels.

The bus stop is located outside the main lobby of the Yacht Club. Buses run about every 30 minutes to the parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. The bus is the best way to get to Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the Magic Kingdom.

There is also a boat launch behind the lobby of the Yacht Club on Crescent Lake. The boats take guests to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and are a leisurely way to get to both parks.

As mentioned above, the Skyliner is about a ten-minute walk from the Yacht and Beach Clubs. The Skyliner takes guests to Hollywood Studios and is the fastest way to get there.

We mentioned walking into EPCOT from these resorts, but you can also walk to Hollywood Studios. The path winds for about one mile around the water.

Finally, while the Yacht and Beach Clubs aren’t located on the monorail, you can access the monorail through EPCOT. You will need a theme park reservation at EPCOT or a park hopper ticket (useable after 2 PM) to access the monorail. However, it can take you to the Magic Kingdom.

The two resorts also share much of the same entertainment and recreation options. Moreover, guests at either hotel are almost always welcome to use amenities at the other one.

The resorts jointly host nightly campfires (weather permitting) and movies under the stars (indoors in inclement weather). There are tennis courts, volleyball courts, jogging trails, arcades, boat rentals, and fishing. There’s also a full fitness center and salon at Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness.

What Makes Disney’s Beach Club Different?

Now that you know all the things that Disney’s Yacht and Beach Clubs share, we can look at meaningful ways that they differ.

One of them is written right into their names. Even though the themes at the resorts are similar, they are distinct from each other. The Beach Club is reminiscent of classic Atlantic and New Jersey seaside resorts around the turn of the 20th century.

It’s bright and cheerful, with light pastel colors throughout. You’ll notice elements of gingerbread-style and Victorian architecture, almost like an upscale beach cottage. The atmosphere is designed to be more relaxed and calming.

There are several other important ways that the two hotels differ. Here’s what’s unique to the Beach Club.

superyacht beach club

One thing that makes the Beach Club distinct is the presence of Disney Vacation Club villas. Disney Vacation Club is a vacation ownership company that sells timeshares in select Disney resorts worldwide. It also offers exceptional experiences, excursions, and reciprocity with RCI for members in good standing to use their annual allotment of points.

There are only 282 villas at the Beach Club, making it among the smallest in the collection. There are studios with kitchenettes and one, two, and three-bedroom villas with full kitchens.

You don’t need to be a DVC member to book the villas. In fact, many non-members love the villas for family reunions and space to spread out. They typically cost more than standard rooms per night.

You don’t have to be a guest at the Beach Club to dine in any of its restaurants. Anyone can make a reservation or drop in for table availability, but guests of this resort will be closer and find it easier to eat at these.

Cape May Cafe is a popular buffet spot for breakfast and dinner. Beaches and Cream Soda Shop has diner offerings for lunch and dinner and is known for its incredible ice cream. Martha’s Vineyard serves lunch but is best known for its bar service and wine selection. Finally, the Beach Club Marketplace offers counter-service and grab-and-go dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Some guests prefer the Beach Club’s location because it is closer to EPCOT and the Skyliner. It takes about five or ten more minutes to get there from the Yacht Club, depending on where your room is situated. However, most of the rooms at the Yacht Club are closer to Stormalong Bay than at the Beach Club.

Even though guests of either resort can use all the amenities, it’s worth mentioning the ones that are located at the Beach Club:

  • Dunes Cove Pool
  • Volleyball courts

superyacht beach club

What Makes the Yacht Club Different?

Several elements distinguish the Yacht Club from the Beach Club, and the first is the theme. While the Beach Club is designed to look and feel like a relaxed yet refined seaside resort, the Yacht Club is more stately.

The Yacht Club is reminiscent of a grand, exclusive New England yachting or boating resort, visited by titans of industry, politicians, and some of the oldest families in America. It is elegant, plush, and nautical. In contrast to the whimsical pastels at the Beach Club, you’ll see dark blues and wood tones against white finishes.

Perhaps because of the prestige, the Yacht Club’s prices tend to be slightly higher than the Beach Club’s, though not substantially. The rooms at both resorts follow their themes but are around the same size.

While the Beach Club has Disney Vacation Club villas, the Yacht Club has a convention center, which frequently contributes to the more formal atmosphere at the Yacht Club. In fact, the resort itself was designed to host conventions, and its setup is conducive to that.

The convention center has more than 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The hotel has almost 2,000 guest rooms, most of which are standard. Nearly 140 are located on the club level, perfect for executives. Couples also often hold weddings at the Yacht Club, and the nearby wedding gazebo is a convenient ceremony space.

There are several dining options at the Yacht Club, and true to its theme, most of them are more formal than the ones you’ll find at the Beach Club. The main restaurant is the Yachtsman’s Steakhouse , a traditional New England steakhouse. It is one of the more formal restaurants in Walt Disney World and is only open for dinner.

In addition, the less-formal Ale and Compass restaurant is a gastropub serving Yankee comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Marketplace at Ale and Compass offers counter-service and grab-and-go dining options.

Finally, two bars offer drinks and light snacks: the Ale and Compass Lounge and the Crew’s Cup Lounge.

These are the recreation and amenities offered at the Yacht Club:

  • Admiral Pool
  • Tennis courts
  • Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness

superyacht beach club

If you plan to spend the bulk of your Florida vacation in Walt Disney World, we strongly recommend staying at a Disney hotel for all the reasons discussed above. But which is better–the Beach Club or Yacht Club?

As you can see, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Yacht Club Resort have a lot in common and share many of the same amenities and perks. However, they have distinct themes that create different atmospheres. The Beach Club is more relaxed and refined, while the Yacht Club is more stately and elegant.

Regardless of where you and your family decide to stay, the most important thing is that you enjoy your time together at Walt Disney World. And don’t forget to check out Stormalong Bay–it’s the best part of either hotel!

The location? 1380 S. Ocean Blvd. in Pompano Beach, about a mile south of East Atlantic Boulevard.

What’s planned?  The Ritz-Carlton Residences will be two buildings, on both sides of State Road A1A with 205 move-in ready homes.

The Beach Tower on the east will be 31 stories with 117 beachside units and one floor of underground parking. The Marina Tower, which is 14 stories high, has 88 residences. This won’t be a hotel, and no AirBnB is permitted.

West side of A1A Ritz Carlton construction underway in Pompano Beach on Monday, May 6, 2024. (Carline Jean/South Florida Sun Sentinel)

“Pompano Beach is ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz,’ ” said Mayor Rex Hardin, a reference to the 1920s Irving Berlin song. “I’ll tell you, it’s a great time for the city of Pompano Beach. To get this kind of recognition that Pompano Beach is a destination, the recognition that the city, the staff cooperate so well with the development community to attract this type of investment, it’s fantastic.

“It’s a validation of what we’ve been working on for many years.”

What will the homes cost to purchase and what are the amenities?  Homes range in price from $1.256 million to $7.133 million. Marina-side units are already sold during pre-construction. The beachside building has just nine units left, said Harvey Daniels, the vice president of development sales.

Homeowners will be in the lap of luxury with access to both a private Beach Club with a beach restaurant — with the Ritz menu that is typically seasonal — and towel service and wait service to be served a drink or lunch (or both) on the beach.

“It’s only open to residents and guests,” Daniels said.

There is also a private Yacht Club, with 13 slips, which are all already sold. There will be a bar area for a cocktail at sunset on the marina, and a pickup and dropoff dock “if someone has friends with boats you can get picked up and dropped off,” Daniels said.

There also will be a spa, two pools facing the ocean, a gym, business center, dog park, bocci court, paddleball or pickleball court, 24-hour valet, and a doorman.

“This is a hot commodity,” said Ron Choron, the vice president of construction for Fortune Development & Construction, one of the project developers. “Ritz is the best. It’s where I try to stay when I go out of town. The service is always the same.”

The interior design for the residences is crafted by Piero Lissoni, an Italian designer.

The homes will range from one to four bedrooms, which are the penthouses. Homeowners have a choice of flooring, doors, baseboards, cabinets and vanities.

What’s being replaced? The property on the east side of State Road A1A was previously a 3-story, 96-room motel called Paradise Beach Resort that sustained hurricane damage and was eventually demolished in 2009. The west side parcel was tennis courts, which were demolished about a decade ago, according to Sandra King, city spokeswoman.

Other than in Pompano Beach, where is the nearest Ritz to purchase? The Ritz-Carlton Residences Sunny Isles Beach is an oceanfront 52-story, 212-unit, luxury building located at 15701 Collins Ave. in Miami-Dade County that opened in 2020. It boasts a private elevator lobby for each residence and kitchens designed with Italian cabinetry and stone countertops.

There are two-, three- and four-bedroom ocean-view residences for sale as resales in the building. No new units are left.

Kelly Charles, a Realtor with “The Luxury Team” at Compass, who has sold in both Sunny Isles Beach and Pompano Beach, said many of her buyers are from the northeast who are “planning for future retirement or second homes.” Those well-to-do clients are getting “all the amenities they could possible want” that come with “Ritz-trained staff.”

“There’s nothing else to compare to in Pompano,” Charles said. “People feel comfortable with the brand they already know.”

How long will Pompano Beach construction take? The residences are scheduled to open in September 2026. Both the east and west buildings are expected to open at the same time.

What is the project anticipated cost? Construction costs are $350 million, Choron said.
