OPERA is a 146.35 m Motor Yacht, built in Germany by Lurssen and delivered in 2023.

Her power comes from a diesel electric engine. She has a gross tonnage of 12518.0 GT and a 20.0 m beam.

She was designed by Terence Disdale , who also designed the interior. Terence Disdale has designed 42 yachts and designed the interior of 78 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

The naval architecture was developed by Lurssen , who has architected 69 other superyachts in the BOAT Pro database - she is built with a Teak deck, a Steel hull, and Aluminium superstructure.

OPERA is in the top 5% by LOA in the world. She is one of 70 motor yachts longer than 100m, and, compared to similarly sized motor yachts, her volume is 5305.31 GT above the average.

OPERA is currently sailing under the Cayman Islands flag, the 2nd most popular flag state for superyachts with a total of 1367 yachts registered. German shipyard Lürssen is hard at work preparing the 146m/479ft  mega yacht PROJECT OPERA for delivery from its Bremen facilities, and the latest video footage comes courtesy of superyacht photographer DrDuu.

The interior facilities span several decks, accommodating a large crew complement along with the Owner and guests, and amenities which are likely to include several lounges, dining options, tender and water toys storage and spa and wellness facilities.

Launched on the 19th of September, M/Y PROJECT OPERA is due for sea trials shortly and is expected for delivery before the end of 2022.

Very little is known about Lurssen's mysterious superyacht OPERA.

At 146m, the superyacht will be the sixth largest yacht Lurssen has built at the time of her launch in September 2022. 

OPERA was first spotted in May 2021 when she transported to the yard's Bremen outfitting facilities in Germany.

The 146.35m/480'2" motor yacht 'Opera' was built by Lurssen in Germany at their Bremen shipyard. Her interior is styled by English designer design house Terence Disdale and she was delivered to her owner in February 2023. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Terence Disdale.

Opera has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 36 guests in 18 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 50 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Her features include separate crew passageway, steam room, sauna, beauty salon, elevator, satellite communications, underwater lights, beach club, gym, WiFi and air conditioning.

146-meter superyacht OPERA delivered

After departing Lürssen ’s Bremen shipyard in Germany on her maiden voyage, the 146m (480ft) superyacht OPERA has now arrived at the Historic Portsmouth Naval Base in the UK .

Showcasing pedigree Lürssen craftsmanship, the impressive yacht’s head-turning exteriors come courtesy of the industry-renowned Terence Disdale Design, who also reportedly collaborated on her interior design. She has been fitted with an aluminum superstructure and steel hull, with the German builder responsible for her naval architecture.

While her vast 12,518 GT interiors remain under wraps, from pictures we can see she sports two pools, one on her sundeck and one on her main deck aft – which can be converted into a dance floor. Meanwhile, there are also two helipads and a wealth of alfresco living spaces, as well as a sprawling beach club area with additional access via steps on both her port and starboard sides.

Featuring a whopping 20-meter (65.6ft) beam and a potential top speed of 22 knots, superyacht OPERA proposes a capacity for up to 36 guests across 18 cabins, plus a crew of 50.

At 146-meters, OPERA is officially the largest superyacht to pass through Portsmouth's historic harbor entrance, rivaling some of the UK Navy's largest ships in operation. Although, she is still dwarfed by her regal neighbor, the HM forces' Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier, which is an impressive 285 meters in length.

The motor yacht marks Lürssen’s sixth largest superyacht to date, with a further eight in-build projects in the works, including the 122-meter Project Jag that is due for delivery sometime this year and Project Alibaba, due for delivery in 2024.
