Temptation is a 58-foot sailing catamaran which operates only 15 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD. Temptation Sailing offers a variety of products including Wild Dolphin Swim/Watch Tours, Twilight Cruises, Afternoon Tea Cruises and Private Charters.
Temptation is surveyed to hold up to 50 passengers and is an extremely stable and spacious vessel. ‘Temptation’ contains a fully licensed bar, a spacious furnished cabin and a 360 degree viewing deck.
Temptation is the first vessel in South Australia to be given a dolphin swim license and has been conducting successful wild dolphin swims in Glenelg, South Australia since January 2002. Over many years, we have developed a relationship with the dolphins of Adelaide and this is possibly the only cruise of its type where we don’t go to the dolphins, they come to us!

Temptation Sailing invites you to swim alongside wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Dolphins are one of the Earth’s most fascinating, curious and interactive species. Our advanced eco certified Wild Dolphin Tours are hosted by our amazing team of marine biologists who will educate and assist you throughout the tour. An incredible experience you will never forget!
We offer two different swim experiences during our Wild Dolphin Tour, a Front Swim and a Back Swim. On a typical day, all swimmers should get the opportunity to try both swims, however some days swimmers may only get the opportunity to try one. Our goal is to get all swimmers to see a dolphin underwater so please know how friendly staff will do their best to make this happen.
Front Swim Experience: Lay down and feel as if you’re a part of the dolphin pod, our Front Swim is an experience you don’t want to miss!
Back Swim Experience: Submerge yourself in the water with our Back Swim Experience, an amazing way to view wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
Sit down, relax and watch Wild Dolphins from front of Temptation and enjoy their 360 degree viewing deck. Watch the dolphins play on the bow of the boat swimming only a few feet away from you and your camera!
Listen to their knowledgeable Marine Biologists educate and explain the interactions with the amazing Indo-Pacific bottlenose and short-beaked common dolphins.
The gulf in which we operate is home to over 1300 residential Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins and 1000-2000 migratory short-beaked common dolphins. During our Dolphin Watch we guarantee we will see dolphins on this tour or you will get a full refund (direct bookings only).
It is important to remember that all of the dolphins you see on their tours are completely wild and every interaction is different. They do not do anything to attract them and they choose to swim with you on their own free will.

Our Coastal Day Cruise goes for an hour and a half.
During our Coastal Day Cruise, we cruise along Adelaide’s beautiful coastline and we stay within 3km of the shore.
You are welcome to bring snacks/nibbles on board as we currently don’t have any food for purchase on board.
If you are after a bite to eat on board, we also offer our Package for Two cruise option which includes a beverage per person and a cheese or antipasto plate to share.
There is no guarantee that you will see dolphins on this tour, however sometimes they do come by and say hello! Every day is different. If you are wanting to see dolphins, we recommend you book onto our Wild Dolphin Tour as we have a 100% guarantee and success rate!
