The Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting Anchor Skeleton

Artisanal watchmakers Franck Muller have really taken it to the next level with their latest timepiece, the Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting Anchor Skeleton.

Available in a range of different precious metals, including 18k yellow gold and 18k rose gold, the case of the prodigious new wristwatch measures an imposing 44mm and is 12.65mm thick.

Housed inside the curvex-style case is Franck Muller’s Calibre MVT.1740VSYA, a 21-jewel, hand-wound skeletonised movement that offers customers an impressive seven days of power reserve and beats away at 18,000 vibrations per hour.

This beautifully presented movement is sandwiched between two pieces of sapphire crystal, giving wearers the opportunity to appreciate the openwork dial, which bestows the watch with an airy quality.

Inspired by the sport of yachting, the Vanguard Yachting Anchor Skeleton features nautical-themed information that adorns the periphery of the dial.

Franck Muller Franck Muller watches are one of the finest and most complicated in the world. The manufacture was founded in Geneva by Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes with the aim of creating exclusive timepieces characterised by complicated movements and original designs. Thanks to its strong in-house capabilities in numerous fields of Haute Horlogerie, this young company rapidly became one of the best Swiss horlogerie brands. Unique Design Since the 1980s, Franck Muller has become a name synonymous with beautiful finishing and unique designs. From its creation, the Cintrée Curvex case was very unique. Indeed, the Haute Horlogerie was bound by tradition and consequently not very open to innovation, especially in terms of design. At the time, there were plenty of round watches and perhaps a few rectangular ones, but there was nothing like Franck Muller’s Curvex. So it was a bold move to introduce, in 1992, something previously nonexistent on the market; a tonneau curved body in 3 dimensions involving great technical difficulties in manufacturing. Thus, Franck Muller watches became easily identifiable due to their tonneau shape that is commonly recognized as the brand’s most significant silhouette. For the brand, it quickly became a great success and a way to express its unique identity, assert its DNA and demonstrate its know-how in case manufacturing. Vanguard - Beyond The Standard Sailing in a sporty direction with this new captivating shape, the Vanguard collection calls in for clean and innovative aesthetics. The distinctive applique numerals have been meticulously hand-polished and hand-brushed. The dial and crown give the final touch to the sporty elegance and unique aesthetic of the watch. The strap is cleverly integrated inside the case in order to maintain and extend the curved aspect of the timepiece, the result being a stunning and sporty timepiece with a unique design.
