I did a ton of research before I pulled the trigger on this boat and it paid off. My first trip was in San Diego in mission bay and the boat was perfect. My self and father-in-law fished the bay for a week with no issues and were blown away how stable the boat was and received a ton of compliments. The 5hp mercury outboard compliments the boat.

I love my Seaeagle 12 Fast Cat. Use it almost everyday in Florida. Customer service is great. Had a valve leak and they sent me a box and had it back in a couple of weeks with shipping time. Just the right size if I need to deflate it and store it. Great ride and just a solid built boat.

Boat is really great. I got all the extras with electric pump, seats, bimini etc. Sets up pretty quick and easy. I went with an electric 83lbs thrust motor and batteries ( 24 volt). I can run for hours! Great to take on vacation with us. We have an RV and like to bring the golf cart and the boat once deflated takes up no room at all.

The unit fits all of our needs. It is very stable with two passengers. Plenty of room to carry a cooler. The sun shade does act like a sail in the wind but you just make the best of it. The electric motor allows one to do some fishing and not have to stay in one spot for any time. Overall, good quality, came in a timely manner and was fairly easy to assemble. It definitely takes two people to move around when inflated.

An additional, ultra-light, large, balloon-like triangular shaped sail which significantly improves the performance when sailing not only on the tailwind, but also on the crosswind and even slightly against the wind.

The all-new ‘MiniCat 460 Elite’ is a high-tech edition to the largest category of the MiniCat portable sailboat range.

The construction is based on the MiniCat 460 Esprit, designed for experienced sailors but the latest model ‘Elite’ takes the MiniCat 460 range to a new level of style, class and performance through the use of an ultra-light carbon fiber mast, rudder and bowsprit together with some eye-catching details of embroidery on the trampoline.

This model can be completed with a Gennaker sail. It comes in three bags, can be assembled in about 40 mins and can carry 1-4 sailors.

FRAME & DECK

The MiniCat 460 frame, to which the floats attach, is produced from light-weight aluminium and the frame parts are powder coated. The trampoline is produced from high strength woven plastic fabric. The frame is attached to the floats by means of welded-on ‘flags’, which are inserted into the pockets on the floats.

The MiniCat 460 is equipped with two inflatable floats 4.6 m length and 49 cm diameter. The floats are made of reinforced Heytex 5509, highly resistant to abrasion and very hard wearing. This material and production technology was adopted from the production of ‘white-water’ rafts. The floats are single-chamber with a combined load capacity of 550 kg.

To fully enjoy your sailing you must confidently control your boat. It is imperative to minimize ‘side-sail’, especially when sailing against the wind. To achieve this keel fins were designed to attach under each float. Their design and shape gives excellent performance yet still allows the boat to be sailed in very shallow water without the risk of damage.

The mast consists of three sections of equal length, slotted together. The length of the assembled mast is 6.10 m. The mast is from alloy tubing and has a groove for the sail attachment. This construction ensures high rigidity and strength for ultimate safety, performance and enjoyment.

The MiniCat 460 is equipped with a main sail and a jib. The total area of the sails is 11,5 sqm (main sail 8,0 sqm, jib 3.5 sqm). The material ‘Racing PolyesterX-PLY Line’ is used for the main sail and the jib is made of “Polyester Dakron”. Both the main sail and jib have transparent windows to ensure better visibility and security while sailing. The 460 Esprit can be equipped with optional Gennaker.

MiniCat 460 is fitted with one rudder in the craft centreline, attached to the frame. The automatic cleat will unlock the rudder rope in case the boat runs aground, thus protecting it from damage. The design of the rudder allows it to be raised at a 90 degree angle, so at the shore or in very shallow water there is no danger of damage. The rudder can be locked in both positions, raised or lowered. The tiller arm is jointed allowing full 360 degree movement.

The HAPPY CAT is an inflatable catamaran that can be transported in just 3 bags. The 4-piece mast is plugged together and fit into the 185 cm long bag. The HAPPY CAT fits in almost any car, RV and can even be taken on the plane. With a little practice, the catamaran can be assembled by one person in around 30 minutes. The hulls are inflated with a hand pump or electric air pump in about 5 minutes.  

The HAPPY CAT can be sailed by one person solo. When the wind is stronger it is recommended to sail in pairs. Up to 4 adults can fit on the large trampoline frame. The catamaran can be sailed up to 5 Beaufort, reaching speeds of over 16 knots.

The construction of all HAPPY CAT models is basically identical. A stable bow foredeck can be mounted on all models for more usable space. Other accessories are slip wheels, masthead float, tarpaulin cover and much more. The different models have an ideal range of use:

The NEO is the smallest with 9 m² sail area. Ideal when low weight and smallest pack size are desired. The best performance unfolds when sailed alone or in pairs. In total up to 3 adults and 1 child fit on the catamaran. Fantastic sailing fun in up to 4 Beaufort. A 3 hp motor can be mounted optionally at the stern.

On the EVOLUTION everything is a bit bigger. Even if more people sail on the catamaran, the hulls dip less and the larger sail area of 11.5 m² provides even more propulsion. Up to 4 adults fit easily on the large trampoline frame. At 5 Beaufort the catamaran sails really fast. Optionally an up to 6 hp motor can be attached, which allows fast gliding rides.

With its even larger hulls, the HURRICANE offers more buoyancy and dips less into the water. Serial reinforcing bow braces increase hull stability in larger waves, for example at the sea. An optional reardeck can be attached to the stern for multi-day adventure trips. The rudder on the HURRICANE is not pulled up and down in the classic way with ropes, but is locked directly via the tiller in the up or down position.

The mast of the HURRICANE CARBON is 6 kg lighter. This allows even easier sailing on one hull due to a later tipping point. In the event of capsize, the carbon mast can be righted up again even more easily. An included padded bag protects the 4 mast parts during transport.

Le MiniCat 420 est équipé de coques gonflables, en Heytex 5509 renforcé. La technologie utilisées pour la conception de ces coques est issues de la production de kayak et rafting d’eaux vives. Elles sont composées d’une chambre unique, longues de 420cm avec un diamètre de 45cm, pour une capacité de charge combinée de 530kg.

Les dérives

Sous les coques du MiniCat, se trouve les dérives procurant son plan anti-dérive au catamaran. Elles sont faites en pièces pleines, dans un matériel hyper robuste, le polypropylène. Le design de ces dérives donne un comportement très marin dans les virements et elles permettent une remonté au vent à 45° sans déraper. Leur robustesse permet l’atterrissage sur tous type de surfaces (sable, galets, etc …).

La surface totale de voile (GV+foc) du MiniCat 420 est de 9,7m² et peut atteindre 20,2m2 en ajoutant  le Gennaker (ou Spi asymétrique)  en option. Les voiles sont composées de fenêtres en Monofilm, de Dacron et de Racing PolyesterX-PLY Line sur le modèle Evoque, un assemblage très robuste qui offre un très bon rendement. La structure

Le trampoline est en plastique tissé et est très résistant à l’eau de mer. Le cadre et le mât sont en aluminium léger. Les traverses avant et arrières sont simplement emboîtées dans les assises. Le tout est maintenu par le laçage du trampoline. Aucun outil n’est nécessaire pour l’assemblage du MiniCat.

If you cross the Moskva River by a pedestrian bridge which is located just in front of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the city and at the same time you can discover Balchug Island. Furthermore, if you want to visit Moscow in 2 days, you can include this island in your itinerary between the cathedral and Gorky park. Here is the old confectionery factory Krasny Oktyabr, which has gradually turned into a fashionable micro-district. There are then some elements of street art, cafes and restaurants and some Moscow bohemian side. At the end of the island you can see a gigantic 98-meter-high monument dedicated to the Russian reforming tsar Pierre The Great.

Admiring Russian art at Tretyakov Gallery

Founded in 1856 by an industrialist and great lover of art, the gallery has grown over the decades, and then bequeathed to the state. Today the collection includes more than 140,000 pieces, 15,000 of which are paintings. Visiting the Tretyakov Gallery is one of the things to do in Moscow if you want to discover Russian art!

• Where? Pereoulok Lavrouchinski 10. A 5-minute walk from Tretiakovskaya station
• Opening hours. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Closed on Mondays.
• Entry tickets. 500 RUB.

Visiting the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts presents the treasures of ancient Egypt, the paintings of Rembrandt and Cézanne, a fine collection of Impressionism.

• Where? Ulitsa Volkhonka 12
• Opening hours. Daily: 10: 00-20: 00, except Thursday: 11: 00-21: 00. Closed on Mondays. The boxes close an hour before closing.
• Entry tickets. The prices vary according to the collections from 300 to 750 RUB.

Walking on Arbat Street

All Russians know Rue Arbat. So, walking on Arbat street is one of the things to do in Moscow. However, after the years, little by little it became very touristy. This is a pedestrian street only. There are souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes there, but it is no longer the most authentic neighborhood in the city.

Seeing the buildings of Moskva-City (Moscow City)

Moskva-City is Moscow’s business center, much like Paris’s Defense district. The skyscrapers of Moskva-City are among the tallest in Europe: 373 meters high! Very nice place to see at dusk.

Good to know! You can admire a nice view of Moscow City from the docks of Tarasa Shevchenko. It’s especially beautiful in the evening with all the lights on.

Bunker 42, one of the most unusual things to do in Moscow

Bunker 42 is a secret military complex which was to be used by the Soviets in the event of a nuclear attack: a space of 7000 m² 65 meters underground!

• Prices. 2200 RUB per person
• Opening hours. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Restaurant inside. Original, but rather a tourist trap.

What to visit in Moscow in 6 days or more?

There are still so many places to see, because Moscow is a big megalopolis and there is always something exciting to do there. For example: the ancient Kolomenskoye village or the WINZAVOD contemporary art center .

If you are interested in history and want to see Russian cities on a rather “human scale”, it would certainly be interesting for you to discover the cities of the Golden Ring . For example, it is very easy to get to Sergey Posad from Moscow (less than 2 hours in train). Visiting the Golden Ring is one of the best things to do in Moscow if you are staying more than a 5-6 days.

MiniCat Guppy Features & Benefits

The MiniCat Guppy is a combination of over a decade of experience and the idea of making sailing more accessible. The Guppy is one of the least expensive sailboats on the market and it packs a wallop in terms of value.

Easy Setup The Guppy comes mostly pre-assembled right out of the bag Simply inflate the hulls, install the center bar and put up the mast, most motivated sailors can do this in about 10 minutes! Wheeled storage bag grants you the freedom to build your Guppy close to the water.

Keels MiniCat offers the inflatable sailboats that use keels. This keeps the draft low, and makes sailing very simple with no pesky centerboards to get hung up on weeds or drag bottom in shallow areas. Guppy keels were designed by Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic to be made out of 100% recycled plastic. Better for the environment, and they float!

Fully Battened Square-Top Mainsail The square-top mainsail provides this little cat with more than enough power to have a fun day on the water. Fully battened with fiberglass battens provides great sail shape, even in light winds. Some Guppy sailors have reported surfing waves up to 12 knots, but average reaching speeds of 8 knots have been achieved.

Premium Hulls - Heytex 5509 PVC All MiniCats, including the Guppy, have hulls made in Germany with Heytex 5509 PVC. This is top shelf PVC and has an extended life expectancy of typical boat PVC. This boat fabric is no different than other PVC with regards to repair. It is easily repairable by an amateur, so no more expensive boat yard repair bills!

Powdercoated Lightweight Aluminum Frames MiniCats are built with lightweight aluminum frames that have been powder coated using techniques that are time tested and durable, even in saltwater! The rugged, long-lasting frame uses the lightest weight materials for both transport ease and sailing performance.

Boomless Mainsail The Guppy’s boomless main design provides for worry-free sailing with children or novice sailors. No worries about getting bonked in the head by a hard boom.

Carbon Fiber, Unstayed Mast The new-for-2023 MiniCat Guppy features a brand first unstayed carbon fiber mast. After many hours of testing, the Red Beard Team absolutely LOVES this feature! The mast is flexible allowing for comfortable sailing in high winds, but is very simple to manage and provides plenty of power on light wind days. Removing the need to connect wires further speeds up the boat assembly process.

Ergonomic Trampoline The Guppy’s trampoline has plenty of handles and tiedown points so you can stash gear to bring along. There are also two sets of hiking straps so any sailor, short or tall, can comfortably and easily hike out.
