The 46.7m/153'3" motor yacht 'Marlin' (ex. Air) was built by Heesen in the Netherlands at their Oss shipyard. Her interior is styled by Dutch designer design house Omega Architects and she was delivered to her owner in December 2010. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Omega Architects.

Range & Performance

Marlin is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Marlin comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles from her 60,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. Her water tanks store around 20,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

1,268-Pound Blue Marlin Landed During Bermuda Big Game Classic

The world of big game fishing was rocked earlier today by a massive 1,268-pound blue marlin landed by UnWined during the Bermuda Big Game Classic . Landed by angler Edward Carreiro with Captain Chris Osborne at the helm, this is the third-heaviest blue marlin ever officially recorded in Bermuda. The fish measured 145 inches in length (lower jaw fork length), with an astonishing girth of 79.5 inches.

Around 4 p.m. UnWined reported their hook-up to tournament control and approximately two hours later they reported landing the fish. Unable to bring the fish aboard the 36-foot Luhrs, the team secured the fish with ropes and buoys before slowly towing it to port. The crowd and anticipation reached new heights at Barr’s Bay Park as the  UnWined  crew made it back safely with a massive sea monster in tow. At 8:55 p.m., as tournament director Jennifer Dudas announced the stagging weight of 1,268 pounds, an explosion of pent-up energy erupted from the crowd, clearly recognizing that history was being made.

Adding to the impressiveness of the catch, UnWined was one of the smallest boats in the fleet and one of the few participating boats that does not have omni-sonar technology.

With this fish, team  UnWined  secured all three Daily Blue Marlin Jackpots, the Winner-Take-All Blue Marlin Jackpot, and the Winner-Take-All Non-Sonar Jackpot for a substantial combined check of $482,240, the largest single team payout in the tournament’s history.

VIDEO: Fisherman Was Nearly Killed By A Marlin When It Jumped Onto His Boat During Frightening Attack

A fisherman was nearly killed in a marlin attack when a fish somehow jumped onto his group’s boat during a day out at the Gulf of Mexico.

The @fairhope_fishing_company TikTok account posted the video of the terrifying ordeal that nearly resulted in a fisherman’s death. As a group attempted to catch the big prize, the fish jumped onto the boat and came directly at the man, resulting in a horrifying marlin attack that was nearly fatal.

The seven-second video has quickly gone viral, with over 3.4 million likes on TikTok. As the men attempt to catch the fish while it splashes around, the marlin comes at the man in the blink of an eye.

The marlin comes at his head and knocks the man’s headset right off the boat. Fortunately, the man reacts just in time to avoid a terrifying injury (and potentially death), hitting the floor a split-second before the marlin falls back into the water:

Though a marlin attack on a human is awfully rare, it happens every so often and can result in death. In February 2022, a man was killed while fishing with a group of friends off the coast of India, when the marlin’s snout “attacked him through his stomach”, the Times of India reported.

Blue marlin hits man during fishing trip near Orange Beach: ‘I couldn’t believe it’

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A deep sea fishing trip took a scary turn when one of the crew members was hit by a blue marlin on Sunday. The crew was fishing off the Gulf of Orange Beach near Perdido Pass.

Six men left out of Orange Beach aboard a 68-foot Hatteras Fishing Boat.  Part of the crew has been fishing together for years. Each man has a few fishing stories to tell, but not one of them will top what happened to one man last Sunday aboard their boat, Jubilee.

“Never saw the blue marlin coming at me,” said Thomas Arendall, who was struck by the fish. “I had no clue what hit me.”

It was around 4 p.m., near the oil platform known as Delta House when angler, Jon Houston Warr, hooked into a marlin. Crew member Arendall came face to face with the giant marlin as the fish came aboard the Jubilee and then fought its way back into the water.

“I couldn’t believe it, I was shocked, that guy is extremely lucky that it was not worse than it was,” said Tyler Creel, an employee of Zeke’s Marina near the location of the boathouse where Jubilee is stored.

Crew put out fire on tanker hit by Houthi missile after U.S. targets rebels in airstrike

JERUSALEM (AP) — The crew aboard a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker hit by a missile launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels extinguished an hourslong fire onboard the stricken vessel Saturday sparked by the strike, authorities said.

The attack on the Marlin Luanda further complicated the Red Sea crisis caused by the Iranian-backed rebels’ attacks over Israel’s war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The tanker carried Russian-produced naphtha, a flammable oil, drawing Moscow further into a conflict that so far it had blamed on the U.S.

Early Saturday, U.S. forces conducted a strike against a Houthi anti-ship missile that was aimed at the Red Sea and prepared to launch, the U.S. military’s Central Command said. That attack came after the USS Carney, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, had to shoot down a Houthi missile targeting it.

The Marlin Luanda burned for hours in the Gulf of Aden until being extinguished Saturday, said Trafigura, a Singapore-based trading firm. Its crew of 25 Indian nationals and two Sri Lankans were still trying to battle the blaze sparked by the missile strike, it said. No one was injured by the blast, it added.

“We are pleased to confirm that all crew on board the Marlin Luanda are safe and the fire in the cargo tank has been fully extinguished,” Trafigura said. “The vessel is now sailing towards a safe harbor.”

The Indian navy said its guided missile destroyer INS Visakhapatnam was assisting the Marlin Luanda’s crew in fighting the fire. It posted images showing the blaze still raging Saturday, likely fueled by the naphtha on board.

The ship, managed by a British firm, is carrying the Russian naphtha bound for Singapore, the company said. It described the flammable oil as being purchased below the price caps set by G7 sanctions placed on Russia over its ongoing war on Ukraine. It wasn’t clear what environmental impact the attack had caused.

Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree claimed the attack on the Marlin Luanda in a prerecorded statement late Friday, describing it as a “British oil ship.” He insisted such attacks would continue.

Since November, the rebels have repeatedly targeted ships in the Red Sea over Israel’s offensive in Gaza against Hamas. But they have frequently targeted vessels with tenuous or no clear links to Israel, imperiling shipping in a key route for global trade between Asia, the Mideast and Europe.

Since the airstrike campaign began, the rebels now say they’ll target American and British ships as well. On Wednesday,  two American-flagged ships carrying cargo for the U.S. Defense and State departments came under attack by the Houthis , forcing an escorting U.S. Navy warship to shoot some of the projectiles down.

China, which relies on the seaborne trade through the area, has called for calm. The U.S. had sought to get China to apply pressure on Iran, as Beijing remains a major buyer of Western-sanctioned Iranian oil.

But Russia so far has condemned the U.S. and the United Kingdom for carrying out its strikes targeting the Houthis, while also meeting with the rebel group in Moscow in recent days.

The U.S. Navy’s top Mideast commander told the AP  on Monday that the Houthi attacks were the worst since the so-called Tanker War of the 1980s. It culminated in a one-day naval battle between Washington and Tehran and also saw the U.S. Navy accidentally shoot down an Iranian passenger jet, killing 290 people in 1988.

Meanwhile Saturday, authorities reported a separate incident in which a vessel in the Arabian Sea reported seeing people armed with assault rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade off their vessel.

“The small craft approached within 300 meters (about 985 feet),” the British military’s United Kingdom Trade Operations agency said. “The onboard security team fired warning shots and post an exchange of fire, the small craft then retreated.”

It said all those onboard were safe. The private security firm Ambrey described the incident as involving a “Somali-style” small boat aided by a larger mothership. As the Houthi attacks have escalated, there’s been an increase in suspected Somali pirate activity as well.
