How are Jet Skis Used Today?

Hopping aboard a jet ski (or other PWC) is a great way to get on the water for a reasonable price. Once on the water, a PWC’s shallow draft is ideal for cruising along creeks and rivers once on the water. Avoid beaching the PWC, as this could damage the hull or impeller.

A PWC’s powerful jet propulsion engine sets the stage for many wave-jumping and joy-riding fun. Of course, PWC riders should follow established “rules of the road” and practice common courtesy on the water. Trying to swamp sailboats or disrupt quiet anchorages is off-limits.

Lifeguards often use PWCs to reach distressed swimmers quickly. Multi-seat models can bring the swimmer(s) safely back to shore. Law enforcement personnel can immediately deploy PWCs to apprehend suspects and conduct investigations.

What types of waters are best fore Jet Skis?

Jet skis (and PWCs in general) are ideal for cruising protected waters such as local creeks and lakes. PWC enthusiasts also take their watercraft on extended river jaunts. However, they should stay aware of weather conditions that could create an uncomfortable ride.

Some PWC owners are itching to take their watercraft into the ocean. Original PWC models were essentially lightweight, unstable waterborne scooters. The vessels’ thirsty two-stroke engines and tiny gas tanks meant offshore excursions were off-limits.

Today’s PWCs are larger, heavier, and more stable with larger gas tanks. So yes, riders can technically take their PWCs into the ocean in settled weather.

However, riders can face hazards from weather conditions, other vessels, and obstacles. Riders need navigation skills so they can safely return to the dock.

How does the boat insurance work?

Boat insurance typically covers loss caused by things such as fire, sinking, storms, and collisions. The extent of the coverage varies depending on the policy.

Do I need my own insurance to rent a boat?

You do not need boat insurance when renting with Boatsetter. Coverage is provided under the Peer-to-Peer Boat Rental Policy, which is underwritten by GEICO Marine Insurance Company. The policy was written from the ground up as a stand-alone recreational boat rental insurance policy covering the period of time that the boat is being rented and is available for all non-commercially insured boats.

Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

What is a Jet Ski?

The term “jet ski” refers to a Kawasaki-branded personal watercraft (or PWC). All PWCs are driven by a jet propulsion engine with an impeller, not a propeller. The impeller sucks water into the engine and ejects it with great force. The combined motion propels the PWC through the water. The PWC’s rider usually sits on a bench seat atop the hull, not inside it like on other boats. The bench seat carries up to four passengers.A stand-up PWC carries a single rider. The rider can begin the trip in a kneeling position and stand up once they’re speeding along.

Yes, all charters come with a captain. We do not have any boats available to be driven by the general public at this time. 

3 hour minimum on charters. 2 hour minimum on Jetski rentals.

If you are looking for something specific, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. 

A 6% processing fee is non-refundable for all bookings. 

All cancellations must be made via email ([email protected])

You may cancel your reservation for any reason up to 14 days before your reserved charter date for a full refund (minus processing fees).

Cancellations between 14-7 days will result in a $300.00 cancellation fee + processing fee.

Canceling between 6-3 days will result in 50% trip charge + 20% captain fees.

Trips canceled within 72 hours of your scheduled trip time will be charged the full trip amount + captain fees + processing fees to the credit card on file. 

All booking adjustments must be made 7 days before your scheduled trip time or a $150.00 rescheduling fee will be incurred. Please note that if you are rescheduling your trip, we cannot guarantee that we will have availability. 

No refunds or time extensions will be offered in the event that you are late.

Bad Weather Policy -

At CUCO Jetski and Yacht Rentals, our foremost concern is the safety and satisfaction of our customers. In the event of inclement weather, we have implemented the following policy:

1. Weather Monitoring: Our dedicated team continually monitors weather conditions to ensure the well-being of our customers and crew.

2. Communication: We will promptly communicate any necessary changes or cancellations to the charter organizer if adverse weather conditions are anticipated.

3. Rescheduling Options: We will work closely with the charter organizer to find a suitable alternative date for the rental, accommodating their schedule as much as possible.

4. Refund Policy: In the event of severe weather that necessitates the cancellation of a rental, we will consider providing a full or partial refund or credit for a future rental, based on the specific circumstances.

5. Safety Priority: The final decision to modify or cancel a rental due to bad weather lies with our team, as we prioritize the safety of all participants.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize safety and strive to provide an exceptional rental experience at CUCO Jetski and Yacht Rentals, even in challenging weather conditions.

To ensure a clean and well-maintained environment on our boats, we have a policy that includes restrictions on items, attire, smoking, and a cleaning fee. Please take note of the following guidelines:

1. Glass Bottles and Fragile Items: Please refrain from bringing glass bottles or any fragile items that can easily break and potentially cause harm to passengers or damage to the boat.

2. Staining Items: To prevent any potential stains or damage, the following items are not allowed on board:

- Snacks such as Cheetos, hot Cheetos, and chips with vibrant pigments that have a high likelihood of staining the boat's surfaces. - Red wine, as spills can lead to stubborn stains. - Jello shots, as they can easily spill and cause staining.

3. Wearing Jeans: To help maintain the cleanliness of our boat's seats, we kindly request that you avoid wearing jeans during the charter. Jeans have the potential to stain the seats, and we suggest opting for lighter, non-staining clothing options.

4. Smoking Policy: Smoking is only permitted at the designated smoking area located at the back of the boat. For the comfort of all passengers, we kindly ask that you adhere to this policy and avoid smoking in other areas of the boat.

Please be aware that a $250 cleaning fee will be assessed if any damages or excessive cleaning is required due to non-compliance with the aforementioned policies. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our boats in excellent condition for all guests.

Thank you for your cooperation in respecting these restrictions and understanding the importance of the cleaning fee in upholding the quality of our service.

Life jackets are provided for all guests. We do recommend bringing your own lifejacket for small children. 

Unfortunately paradise cove marina does not allow any pets at the marina.

There was not an actual building. You go there and you pretty much have to get transported by a JetSki to an island about three minutes away. I came as a group of 6 and so he had to go back 3 times and get everybody in my group on one JetSki. I waited about an hour before we got on jet skis. They made me download a website on my phone while on the island and fill out an application for consent. The actual JetSki experience was pretty good but they didn't have many jet skis and the ones they did have were not malfunctioning while out on the ocean. It was a very unorganized experience. The guy was nice but things weren't put together well.

Driver must provide valid photo id.

Drivers must be at least 14 years old to operate a Jet Ski and minimum 6 years old to be a passenger. Minors will need a parent or legal guardian to sign the  waiver.

Our certified instructors give a short safety briefing & riding tutorial before you depart and they will be close by while out on the water since the boat will remain parked in the riding area as well.  More than half of our customers are first-time jet ski riders.  You will get the feel of it before you start to accelerate out in the open water.  So long as you’re comfortable in and around the water, you’ll have a blast!

• Jet ski rental passengers have to be at least 6 years old. U.S. Coast Guard recommends your kids should be at least 18 pounds to ride on a jet ski safely.
• All Jet Ski operators and passengers are required to sign our Liability Waiver & Security Deposit Consent which will be sent to you once your reservation is booked

Booking in advance is required. Same day reservations are available and can be made through phone call/text up to 30 mins before departure. Please book early to maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer.

You are not  required to know how to drive a jet ski, our instructors will provide a comprehensive safety and operational tutorial, so even if you are a “first timer”, you can feel safe, have a great time and be comfortable even though you have never ridden before. If you get tired, you can take a break, sit on our comfortable boat while you enjoy the view & watch your friends and others in the group have a great time.

Our jet skis can go as fast as 50-60 mph depending on the model. Our riders can go as fast as they want as long as they operate the jet ski in a reasonable and prudent manner with regard for other vessel traffic, posted restrictions and other circumstances so as to not endanger other people or property.

•  To get started, find a comfortable sitting position . Next, place hands on the handlebars and feet firmly in the footrests.
• Turn the jet ski ignition switch  (with the key attached to the lanyard, attached to your wrist).
• Slowly begin to push the throttle .
• Cruise around about 5 to 10 mph until you’re away from the boat or other riders.
• Increase speed gradually, maintain this steady, slow speed and lean  toward the direction you wish to turn . (Have any passengers do the same.)
• Keep in mind most jet skis require acceleration to turn, which is when most riders tend to flip. To avoid flipping a jet ski, keep the weight balanced and centered !
• Don’t forget you must always keep a safe distance from the shore at all times

You absolutely can jet ski even if you can’t swim. The most important thing to do is simply wear a life-jacket, which all people should do when they ride a jet ski, regardless of their swimming ability.  As long as you wear a life preserver and follow our safety rules & life-saving tips, there’s no reason why a person who can’t swim shouldn’t enjoy the sport of jet skiing.

We offer both guided or un-guided rentals depending on the customer’s preference but we mainly offer free rides (un-guided), which means you can ride around on the jet ski at your desired speed and explore on your own. Our riding area is one of the largest in Miami , with Downtown and Brickell skyline views , Key Biscayne and Coconut Grove scenic views & waterfront mansions.

If you have your private boat dock or access to one, we can arrange to deliver our jet skis to your location, making your experience as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible.

 HOURLY RENTALS

We have a four-hour-minimum hourly set rate. With this option you can add on additional hours depending on availability. Half day rentals are  ONLY available to book online for weekdays(Monday-Thursday).

Half day rentals are also available weekends, first come first serve at an On-Call basis . You must call the day of to see if there is any availability, it can not be booked in advance.

DAY RENTALS

Our most popular rental option by our customers for its value and its unbeatable price. Weekday(Monday-Thursday) or Weekend(Friday-Sunday). A Full Day Rental is an eight-hour rental time from delivery or 12 hour rental time from pickup. We provide a variety of customizable add-ons for you to choose from.

SHORT-TERM RENTAL

From a weekend getaway or an extended trip this rental option is perfect for a multiple day or weekly rental. Also great for a holiday weekend. Subject to a change in rates.
