Hayley is an experienced qualified accountant with a passion for managing leisure focused businesses. Hayley took over the business with Wayne in early 2021 following a hugely successful career as a finance director and CFO for several companies. Wayne Palmer

Wayne founded successful global provider of high-quality technical furniture company, Thinking Space Systems in 2003. After taking up sailing in 2015, Wayne took over Key Yachting in 2021 for a new and exciting challenge. Managing Director

Bill joined Key Yachting as the Commercial Director in January 2023. He is passionate about helping clients find their perfect boat. His love for sailing started when he was 8 years old, having learnt in a Mirror dinghy in Chichester Harbour. He has been dinghy racing for many years, most recently in a Blaze. Bill’s favourite book is “Born To Win” by John Bertrand, the story of how Australia won the America’s cup. When he’s not sailing, he can be found out riding his bike.

After Sales Manager

Jamie Joined the Key Yachting team in January 2024 as our After Sales Manager. Jamie has had a lifelong passion for sailing. His career has followed a path of Yacht Rigging, Instructing, Skippering, Fleet Management and Super Yacht Rigging. A natural problem solver, Jamie takes pride in finding the perfect fit for each customer, ensuring they get the best out of their boat. Jamie enjoys yacht racing and has competed in many regattas over the years, mountain biking with his dog Pepper and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

Andrew Evans

Business Administrator

Meet Andrew, our newest team member at Key Yachting, who joined in January 2024. He provides valuable assistance to ensure the smooth running of the office, handling business admin, stock management, and logistics. Outside of work, Andrew is a keen golfer, often found on a golf course somewhere trying to get that handicap down.

Harry Tilling

Yacht Broker

Harry, our broker dedicated to making your dream boat a reality, is an avid sailor whose experience spans from optimists to conquering the Fastnet. With a successful background in university team racing and competing in the Solent, the north-east coast, and Scotland, Harry's connection to the sea is profound. Off the water, Harry satisfies his need for speed in a youth ski team and as an amateur pilot. Armed with a degree in History of Art from Leeds, he brings creativity to his pursuits, often found blaring Led Zeppelin and attempting to emulate them on his guitar in his spare time.

Seb, our broker and yacht design graduate who transitioned into sales after starting in engineering. With a sailing history since the age of 7, he excelled in dinghy regattas, securing a victory at Lymington Youth Week in 2012. More recently competing in the Round the Island Race and numerous Cowes weeks. Seb brings boatyard expertise in outboard repairs and antifouling. A watersports enthusiast, he enjoys summer days waterskiing and kneeboarding in the Solent. In his spare time can be found listening to Jamiroquai and hunting for tickets to their live shows.

Nikki Curwen

Nikki is leading our marketing activities to keep you updated with the latest news, events, and the exciting boats we have on offer. Having grown up with J Boats, she sailed and campaigned her family's J105 for 17 years, specialising in shorthanded and offshore racing, including competing in the Mini Transat 2015. Opting for a slightly more land-based life now, Nikki works with us on a freelance basis. In her free time, you can often find her on two wheels cycling or attempting to master the art of wing foiling!

Located at the mouth of the River Hamble just South of Southampton, Hamble Point Marina offers alongside berths for yachts up to 30m in length.  The marina has high quality facilities and services available to incoming vessels, including yacht services, storage and winter lay-up [maximum 10m], yacht brokerage and recycling.  The Marine Service Centre has over 70 independent contractors providing a wide range of marine services, maintenance and repairs.

Hamble Point Marina is well situated on the Solent for visitors looking to explore the inland Hampshire countryside, nearby cities of Southampton, Portsmouth and Cowes or to journey across the English Channel to France, the Channel Islands or Belgium.

Broker Remarks

"Teucer" is a beautifully maintained example of the Midget 26 built by Jachtwerf Gebr. De Kloet B.V. in Holland to a very high standard.  The design of the Midget 26 is timeless, and strongly reminiscent of the Scandinavian Colin Archers. With its round stern, heavy displacement and generous beam, which extends far to the front and back, the Midget 26 is a sea-kindly yet spacious form that has withstood the tests of both sea and time. The full-length keel is sloped in the forward sections and at the aft end supports the long rudder, providing protection to both the rudder and the propeller. The internal layout of the Midget 26 uses the forward sections of the boat for the U-shaped saloon seating. This allows the galley, heads and companionway to be positioned in the centre of the boats (where headroom is best), and allows the sterns to be used for two double cabins, creating the possibility for three double berths in three cabins if the saloon table is lowered and the infill cushions deployed. "....a tough, capable and impressively roomy cruising yacht, and one that should look after you if you're caught out in rough weather....." says Practical Boat Owner in Febraury 2005, refering to the Midget 26. The article goes on to say "....The Midget is certainly different. Small, solid, hand built boats are a rarity these days, but the success of this Dutch cruiser proves that there are still people for whom quality, character and robustness are more important than size...." Under the CE regulations, the Midget 26 is in category B (offshore). "Teucer" is currently ashore at Hamble Point Marina. Contact Simon Flowers on 02392 637 466 to arrange a viewing.

Two double quarter berths, each with good storage. Saloon forward with U-shaped seating around the central dining table.  Converts to a double berth. Navigation area to port, with chart table, stowage, instrumentation and electrical switch panel. Galley to starboard with 2-burner gimballed gas oven and grill.  Circular stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water. Large refrigerator. Heads to port, aft of the navigation area, with marine toilet, sink and pressurised hot and cold water supply. Large mirror and ample stowage. Eberspacher cabin heating with 2 outlets. 240 volt outlet and 12 volt socket at chart table. Cockpit with tiller steering, engine control lever and instrument panel.  2 x cockpit lockers and 1 x lazerette which includes gas bottle stowage.  2 x teak pushpit seats.  Cockpit seating in teak.

Mechanical and Rigging

Engine Vetus 2-cylinder 16 hp marine diesel engine. Shaft drive. 3-blade propeller. Tankage Fuel:     1 x stainless steel 60 litres (approx.) Water:   1 x stainless steel 200 litres Holding: 1 x stainless steel 48 litres Electrical System Shore power, with 240v outlets 12v system comprising 2 batteries: one for domestic and one for engine start.  Charging is by engine alternator and Mastervolt battery charger. Rig Single spreader masthead rig, with aluminium mast and boom. A frames and tabernacle to aid mast lowering and raising. Stainless steel 1x19 standing rigging. Sails Fully battened mainsail with lazyjacks and pack-a-main type sail stowage. Headsail is a bi-radial furling genoa with a Furlex 200 furling system. Halyards and reefing lines are all led back to the cockpit.
