Vision F80 yacht tour: Inside a €5m powercat with an electric future
- Top stories
- yacht tours
At the recent Palma Boat Show, MBY deputy editor Jack Haines took the chance to tour the new Vision F80 powercat…
One of the standout boats at the 2022 Palma Boat Show was the Vision F80, an enormous all-black catamaran from Turkish yard Vision F, who are currently working in partnership with Silent Yachts .
The Vision F80 on display at Palma was fitted with Volvo Penta IPS, but future versions will feature hybrid and electric boat powertrain options.
Our tour starts at the transom with its split bathing platform and hydraulic tender launch platform in the middle.
Once you’re in the cockpit, you really get a sense of the true size of the Vision F80 – with a 30ft beam there’s plenty of room for huge side decks that look like they’ve been borrowed from a bowling alley.
Moving inside, the galley is accessed via its own separate staircase to port, leaving the entire main deck free for a sprawling saloon.

Two more staircases towards the bow lead into the guest accommodation, with the owner’s cabin and a twin cabin to starboard, plus two further cabins to port.
Additional toy storage is offered on the foredeck – there is more than enough room for a Williams jet tender and a jetski, which can be launched via a deck crane.
But arguably, the star of the show is the vast flybridge , which boasts acres of entertaining space, more than enough to fit a hot tub should you require.
Enjoy the tour…

VisionF unveils first images inside 25m VisionF 80 BLCK
Turkish shipyard VisionF has offered a glimpse on board the 24.6 metre catamaran BLCK.
The third hull in its Firstline range, BLCK has a beam of 9.9 metres and a draft of less than one metre. Strong lines and a black exterior give her an “aggressive yet elegant attitude” according to the yard, while an all-aluminium hull ensures heat can be evenly dispersed across the yacht’s surface.
Her crisp and modern interior was completed in-house and features light wood veneers, dove grey Alacantra panelling and orange accents throughout. She accommodates four guests in two cabins comprising a master and two VIP twins with en suite facilities attached. The master features a lounging space and a full-size bathroom with his and hers sinks.
The main saloon offers 360-degree views across its 54 square meters and contains a black forest marble dining table with space for up to 12 guests as well as an L-shaped sofa and coffee table.
Outside, opportunities for entertaining are maximised on the aft deck with a comfy lounger for eight guests tucked in one corner. On the other corner, there is a cradle to carry the yacht’s SeaBob Wide, teak-clad steps lead down to the stern platform which can be hydraulically lowered for easy access to the water and raised for storing the tender.
The flybridge can be reached from the aft deck and features sunpads and seating upholstered in Sunbrella weather-resistant fabrics. In addition to the internal and external helm station, there is also a wing station with IPS joystick control in a hidden compartment in the cockpit with good views fore and aft.
This model is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines for a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
The yacht made her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival and then went on to appear at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Experience Supernatural Luxury Aboard VisionF’s 80 BLCK Catamaran
The visionf 80 firstline blck catamaran shows that black cats are indeed a breed apart..
- Writer Craig Ritchie
DCIM100MEDIADJI_0071.JPG
Superstitions around black cats have been with us for centuries. Seen as supernatural, black cats were believed to bring good luck to those they belong to but ill fortune to anyone who crossed them. This fascination with black cats persists in a much different form if you’re a boater. Today’s object of obsession is an 80-foot black aluminum cat known as the 80 Firstline BLCK from VisionF Yachts.
Founded in Turkey by Coşkun Bayraktar only four years ago, VisionF Yachts has already earned a glowing reputation for creating stunning and luxurious power catamarans. That includes its magnificent 80 Firstline BLCK, which made its world debut at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival.
Measuring 24.6 metres in overall length and riding on a generous 9.9-metre beam, the three-deck, all-aluminum 80 Firstline BLCK stands out with its matte black paintwork that contrasts with its broad teak decks.
In most cases, one will board from the dock at the stern, where wide teak steps lead from the swim platform (which can be hydraulically lowered for easy access to the water or raised for storing the tender) up into the cockpit. One of the great things about catamarans as family cruisers is their generous deck space, which is obvious as you step aboard the 80 Firstline BLCK. Deck layouts are left to the individual owner, but there’s more than enough space in the cockpit to accommodate an al fresco dining space for up to eight people with space to spare.Behind it, VisionF has allowed for a screen between the two support pillars aft, which provides extra privacy when moored Mediterranean-style in the marina.
Proceeding into the saloon, the largeness of the interior is impossible to ignore, as your eyes scan almost 600 square feet of lounge space accented with chic, contemporary furnishings and light wood veneers. Dove grey Alcantara panelling with saucy orange accents add a touch of playful elegance. Huge windows offer panoramic views, whether guests are relaxing or enjoying the bright interior dining space.
The bright and spacious galley sits below-deck aft in the portside hull, with its scratch-proof countertops, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. VisionF thoughtfully provides an alternative layout that positions the galley on the main deck, an option that may be prefered by couples. But for those with larger families or who plan to frequently host guests, preserving the main deck space for lounging and entertaining makes the most of this yacht’s generous nearly 10-metre beam.
Farther forward in the port-side hull are two luxuriously appointed guest cabins and a crew cabin. The owner’s suite occupies the starboard-side hull, along with a twin-single guest cabin and another crew suite. All the cabins benefit from large windows, as well as skylights in the side decks above, ensuring the spaces below are flooded with fresh air and sunlight.
But the whole point of having a powerful catamaran and its vast deck space is to enjoy the great outdoors, and that’s where the VisionF 80 Firstline BLCK excels. Those wide side decks lead to the open foredeck, with its cozy sunken lounge. The huge, level deck space provides plenty of room for storing a jet tender and a personal watercraft, which can be launched and retrieved using a dedicated crane.
The flybridge is more than just a driver’s seat with a view. Accessed from the aft deck, it’s also an inviting lounging spot by day and a terrific party space after dark, particularly with the bespoke Void sound system.
Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines, the VisionF 80 Firstline BLCK can achieve top speeds in the range of 18 knots. But more often, the yacht will cruise along at a more leisurely 12 knots, consuming just 30 litres of fuel per hour. That would be pleasing performance for a 50-foot power cat, but it’s an almost unheard of figure for an 80 and indicates the tremendous efficiency of this yacht’s break-through hull design.
Powerful. Quick. Sleek. Elegant. VisionF’s 80 BLCK can’t help but evoke admiration in true black cat style. The person this cat belongs to is lucky indeed.

VisionF’s Fourth 80 Series Catamaran Is Clad In Pink
Before a shipyard initiates any build, it’s absolutely critical that every little detail has been ironed out. If not, some aspects of the construction might be irreversible or drastic changes can delay completion significantly. As such, the latest twin-hull 80 delivered by VisionF Yachts could have been just another lavish project at the start but turned into a whimsical surprise just before delivery.
Reports confirm this catamaran is the fourth and last in the series as the company will no longer accept commissions for the 80 moving forward. Hence, it’s somewhat fitting that they are closing out this chapter with a pink luxury vessel guaranteed to leave a lasting impact on whoever catches sight of it out at sea.
And here we thought the yachting scene was already out of surprises for the remainder of 2023. In stark contrast to the stealthy third hull, the bright rosy exterior is sure to pop against the natural shades of the waters and sky surrounding it. VisionF Yachts did not drop the name, but the client is in the tech business.
We can’t say for certain if this was a personal preference or perhaps a publicity stunt tied to the overwhelmingly successful Barbie movie which came out several months ago. According to the VisionF Yachts executive Ali Tanir, “I am very happy to take part even at the delivery stage of this project, she is unique in many ways.”
The aluminum 80-footer owes its striking cosmetic characteristic to London-based Thurstan Design. Even the interiors are chromatically curated to match, albeit in varying hues. Supplying the furniture are the likes of Farrow & Ball, Crate & Barrel, Rove Concepts, Moro, Paola Lenti, and Kravet. Meanwhile, the rest of the pieces are in-house works from VisionF.
It can accommodate up to eight guests across four lavish suites. Moreover, there are plenty of spaces for entertainment and socializing aboard this 80 catamaran. Propulsion is supplied by two Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines to push it up to speeds of 18 knots.

The matte black VisionF 80 BLCK catamaran’s color has a unique purpose
VisionF Yachts showcased the VisionF 80 BLCK catamaran at both the Monaco Yacht Show and the Cannes Yachting Festival as the newest addition to their lineup of power catamaran boats. As the third model in the brand’s Firstline lineup, the all aluminum “BLCK” edition catamaran gets its name from the matte black paint it’s covered in.
All facets of its design, including the exterior, interior, and naval architecture of the 80-foot VisionF 80 BLCK catamaran, were all done by the Turkish shipyard. Energy can be generated through the solar panels on the roof of the sun deck thanks to the dark exterior’s ability to draw the sun.
“On a composite boat, the black hull and superstructure would make the exterior surfaces uncomfortably hot, but excess heat is easily dissipated by the aluminum hull into the water,” said a representative from Vision F.
Additionally, owners can choose to add more solar panels in place of the sun cushions on the coach roof. Twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines give the boat its primary propulsion with a max speed of 18 knots. It uses even less fuel when traveling at the speed of 12 knots, which translates to less than 8 gallons per hour.
With a roomy main deck, the spacious cockpit area accommodates seating for eight and a cozy, shaded lounging area. The main deck is also ideal for relaxing, dining, and sunbathing as it’s customizable with options to extend its layout. The aft deck of the VisionF 80 BLCK catamaran leads to the flybridge, equipped with a Void sound system and seating and sunpads covered in Sunbrella weather-resistant materials .
A wing station with IPS joystick control can be found in the cockpit in addition to the internal and external helm stations. The interior is spacious as well, with the main saloon measuring 581 square feet. The internal dining space offers seating for up to 12 guests and provides 360-degree views.

Barbiecore Makes It to the Sea With the First Pink Catamaran
Made for a tech entrepreneur, Vision F80 challenges the colors of nautical tradition
Made for an internationally renowned tech entrepreneur who requested a custom shade of pink, the VisionF 80 catamaran certainly won’t go unnoticed, standing out elegantly on the water.
The unique hull color and details of the Vision F80 catamaran were created in collaboration with London’s Thurstan Design, with whom the yard’s team worked closely. The total pink model of the Vision F80 retains all the features of the other units in the range, including the large indoor and outdoor living areas on the main deck. To get an idea of how large the vessel is, consider that the main deck reaches 54 square meters — a considerable size on a boat. The aft platform can also be lowered hydraulically for easy access to the water.
Vision F80 ’s upper deck, equipped with an external wheelhouse, is the perfect place to enjoy sailing and to relax outdoors while lying comfortably on the various sundecks or, if you prefer, sitting on the sofa or on the bar stools. The main shade on this deck is, of course, pink, which lends a truly unique look to the boat. In continuity with the exteriors, interiors also unfold in shades of pink and are furnished, according to the owner’s personal taste, with fixed pieces produced in-house by VisionF and with furnishings from Rove Concepts, Moro, Crate & Barrel, Kravet, Paola Lenti and Farrow & Ball.
The four luxurious cabins can accommodate up to eight people and are located in the two hulls of the Vision F80 catamaran . Meanwhile, a bright galley is also located on the lower deck. At full speed, the vessel reaches 18 knots and has a range of more than 1,800 nautical miles.

Seafarers can customize the layout, too. The galley can be positioned on the main deck or in one of the hulls, while the crew cabins can be located in the stern or bow. You can also pick between four or three cabins, including a spacious owner’s stateroom, two doubles and a kid’s cabin or a guest cabin that doubles as a gym.
Outside, meanwhile, wide side decks lead to an open foredeck with a comfy lounge and a small dining area. The main deck aft sports a larger alfresco dining table with room for your whole posse. Further aft, a hi-lo platform in the stern can accommodate a tender for ship-to-shore transfers. The platform also provides swimmers with quick and easy access to the water.
Up top, the generous flybridge is equipped with ample lounge seating for sunbathing or relaxing with friends. VisionF says there is a long list of options for kitting out the space.
In terms of propulsion, the standard VisionF 60 will be powered by two 360 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 diesel engines for a maximum speed of approximately 21 knots. The cat’s draft is two feet fully loaded, so navigating shallow waters will be no problem. To top it off, solar panels can be fitted to the deckhouse roof to generate clean, renewable energy to power some of the hotel load. Battery banks can also be added to store excess energy.
Construction on the first unit will begin in early 2023, with delivery available in spring 2024.
