El club se inició con un predio cuya extensión era de un poco más de 3 hectáreas, que estaban dentro de las 20 reservadas a los primeros 9 hoyos del campo de golf. Hoy, el Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo cuenta con una extensión de 54 hectáreas, en las que distribuyen sus elegantes instalaciones.

Se contrató a un grupo de profesionales y empresas especializadas en diferentes áreas de la construcción, considerados entonces como los de mayor nombre y prestigio en el país. Cada uno en lo suyo, y todos en el objetivo de concluir unas instalaciones que sean de asombro. Efectivamente lo fue, y lo es hasta hoy.

La primera casa club constaba con la secretaría y sala del Consejo, el Bar Social (hoy Salón Luis María Zubizarreta), el Restaurant Concorde, todos en el nivel superior con la gran terraza con vista al río, sitio de las grandes primeras fiestas. Sobresalía la gran piscina suspendida sobre pilares de 11 metros de altura como un gran tanque elevado. El área que hoy ocupa el Tatakuá era mucho más pequeño y estaba destinado al personal de servicio. El Primavera Snack Bar también forma parte de las facilidades construidas en aquellos días, con la denominación de Bar Golfista, y funcionaba como un expendio de comidas rápidas.

Los primeros 9 hoyos del campo de golf tienen como elementos dominantes a la lomada que sube hasta el Green del hoyo 3, y la frondosa arboleda en la que predominaban los mangos y pinos. Esa hermosa lomada era predominantemente arenosa, una característica no de lo más deseada para asentar un campo de golf, pero tan bello era el panorama, que se tuyo que buscar la forma de adecuarlo. Así tenemos los hoyos del 1 al 9. Bellos y desafiantes.

Pero más tenacidad se tuvo que tener para los hoyos de abajo, en primer lugar porque el área era río mismo. En dos intentos se completó el relleno con miles de metros cúbicos de arena y tierra, para disfrutar de los hoyos 10 al 18, dominados con fuerza por las aguas del río Paraguay, y que hacen tan particular al campo de golf del Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo, ya que en realidad son dos canchas bien diferentes, unidas en una sola.

Así se acercaba al día de la inauguración, con un campo de golf de 18 hoyos, diseñado por el argentino Don Emilio Serra, un hombre que en el mundo del golf sudamericano contaba con la reputación de ser el más talentoso diseñador de canchas. Atraían también las 6 canchas de tenis de superficie dura, antes desconocidas en el país.

El Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo estaba listo, corrían los primeros meses de 1981, había que inaugurarlo y disfrutarlo.

Para la inauguración oficial del club se programó una ceremonia sencilla y sobria.

En el año 1987 se inaugura y habilita el Hotel del Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo gracias a la participación decisiva del señor Verlin Gale Ray, quien con notable fe y confianza, no dudó en destinar la importante inversión que requería el proyecto. El Hotel que lleva en su denominación el nombre del Yacht se convirtió, en poco tiempo, en un distintivo emblemático del Paraguay, el Club/Resort se mostró desde un inicio fiel a la filosofía de un estilo diferente, elegante y renovador, el ESTILO YACHT.

2da etapa de construcción

Formando parte de las incorporaciones realizadas en la que podría llamarse segunda etapa de la construcción del complejo, se destaca el tan imponente Salón de Galas, con sus 1073 metros cuadrados, además de unir virtual y físicamente al Club con el Hotel, puede albergar hasta a 1.300 comensales en un banquete.

El salón Verde es otro de los nuevos restaurantes que se construyen en el Hotel, corazón mismo del complejo, lo siguen el Restaurant Tatakuá, con las mejores carnes de la ciudad, la original discoteca de alta tecnología y las espléndidas habitaciones y suites de lujo.

El Hotel que lleva en su denominación el nombre del Yacht se convirtió, en poco tiempo, en un distintivo emblemático del Paraguay, el Club/Resort se mostró desde un inicio fiel a la filosofía de un estilo diferente, elegante y renovador, el ESTILO YACHT.

El querido árbol de mango

Se lo puede ver en las más antiguas fotografías y también en las actuales, el querido mango, mudo testigo de la historia del Club, recibió el justo homenaje de que la segunda casa club y el área que lo circunda se denominen con su nombre. El edificio El Mango fue objeto de la 3era fase de la construcción del Yacht y Golf Club, se inauguró en 1989, coincidente con dos de los más grandes eventos deportivos que se disputaron en el Club, la Copa Mundial de la Juventud en tenis, y la Copa Los Andes en golf.

Competir es vivir

El fomento y desarrollo de la actividad deportiva fue desde el inicio mismo de la vida del Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo, un objetivo que tuvo preeminencia para delinear programas y calendarios de eventos. La actividad deportiva en todos sus niveles fue siempre importante y relevante en el Yacht. Símbolo del apoyo al deporte es la bandera del club, el azul simboliza al yachting, el blanco al tenis y el verde al golf. La trilogía deportiva que caracteriza al club.

Sede de varias Copa Davis. En 1987 Paraguay compite en el Grupo Mundial con Estados Unidos, match que se disputó en el Court Central. En octubre de 1989 se disputó en el Yacht la World Youth Cup, la Copa Mundial de la Juventud. El Yacht también fue anfitrión de varios Torneos sudamericanos de mayores y juniors.

Desfile de grandes artistas

Renombrados artistas nacionales e internacionales se presentaron en muy recordados shows y recitales. Valeria Lynch, Julio Iglesias, Pedro Vargas, José Luis Rodriguez, María Marta Serra Lima, Armando Manzanero, Los Enanitos Verdes, Soda Stereo, Roupa Nova, Paralamas entre otros.

Cumbre de Primeras Damas

Del 16 año 20 de Octubre de 1977 el Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo fue sede de la 5ta Conferencia de Esposas de jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de las Américas, una cumbre de primeras damas cuya relevancia la dio la presencia de la esposa del entonces presidente de Estados unidos, la señora Hillary Rodham Clinton.

So calm and nice to hang out by the pool and beach.

I loved the river view room. You could watch the sunset from your room window. It was also a lot of fun to have dinner and play in the vivant Casino which is just steps from the hotel.

Old style 5 star from the 70’s (before the Japanese-style sad look) with a pleasant dolce-vita atmosphere. It actually needs some maintenance, anyway still looks great. They charged me half day for late check-out, that’s not fair because the hotel was almost empty. Food is great, really great: the best grilled meat we had in the whole trip, at a great value for money. Staff is kind, accurate and friendly. A nice stay.

The Veranda swimming pool: big, quite (when no music), good bar service. Big room, clear, sunny, confortable, good minibar (cooling). Beautiful view on the river and the sunset. The nature around the hotel (river, birds).

Todo fue bueno en el hotel. La habitación muy grande y muy limpia. El servicio, muy eficiente. Comidas excelentes. Desayuno muy bueno. Las piletas limpias y agradables. La vista para el Rio Paraguay y la playa muy linda. La puesta del sol fue un espectáculo lindo.

O café da manhã é bom. Os quartos são espaçosos, apesar de antigos.

Personal muy amable atento a todo . Un lugar con muchísimo potencial, ojalá lo vuelvan a poner en condiciones para ser un 5 estrellas.

Já várias vezes fiquei neste hotel, e sempre gostei, mas acho que precisa de algumas renovações, mais cuidados para um hotel de 5 estrelas e, antes de mais nada, precisa de bom Wi-Fi. Precisei trabalhar online, mas não consegui porque internet foi péssimo e acho que atualmente um bom Wi-Fi é um MUST!

O atendimento dos funcionários é excepcional. O chuveiro do banheiro é maravilhoso. As roupas de cama são ótimas também.

El Yacht incorporó una terraza gastronómica

Una vista panorámica de la terraza, de espaldas al río, muestra el amplio espacio habilitado en el Yacht y Golf Club.

El pasado jueves 30 se realizó la inauguración de un nuevo espacio gastronómico en la terraza del Yacht y Golf Club, que de esta manera incorpora una oferta más a las numerosas que ya posee dentro de sus instalaciones. La terraza tiene el atractivo de ser una gran área al aire libre con una excelente vista panorámica del río Paraguay. Un grupo de invitados especiales pudo disfrutar de las propuestas que ofrecerán a los visitantes.

La terraza del Yacht y Golf Club constituyen un espacio que no estaba siendo aprovechado salvo para ocasionales eventos sociales. Ahora de forma permanente se establece allí un punto con servicio gastronómico. Está abierta al público de miércoles a domingo desde las 16:00 hasta las 01:00 pm. El plan es ofrecer picadas, bebidas y música. Y aprovechar la vista que se tiene del río. Se trata de una de las terrazas gastronómicas más importantes.

El concepto gastronómico consiste en un servicio de picadas contundentes sintetizadas en una reducida carta que irá incrementándose de acuerdo con la preferencia de los clientes o la existencia de algún producto de mercado que sea conveniente. En la noche pasada, los asistentes pudieron saborear choricitos a la sidra, salteado de lomitos con verduras, pequeñas hamburguesitas, brochetas de salmón, pollos apanados, canapés de camarones, etc.

El servicio de tragos será uno de los ofertas principales del nuevo espacio que estará abierto de miércoles a domingos.

También se incluyen en la carta picadas de chorizos y carne asada en parrillitas, aprovechando que el restaurante Tatakua, se encuentra justo al lado. Para el maridaje se sugiere diversas marcas de cerveza y tragos. En el lugar está instalado una barra, con presencia de un bartender especializado en coctelería de autor. La idea es organizar noches temáticas como por ejemplo la Gin Tonic Experience y cosas así con otros tipos de bebidas.

La organización de noches temáticas también estará referidas a la presentación de números musicales. El lugar contará con un Dj residente, pero habrá días en que estarán presentes Djs invitados.  Dentro de los planes figuran la realización de noches de tangos, noches de jazz y eventos parecidos. Las novedades a este respecto se irán anunciando con antelación a través de las redes sociales de la institución.

La terraza viene a sumarse así a los otros espacios gastronómicos existentes en el Yacht y Golf Club. First Resort All Inclusive in Paraguay

The experience includes everything you need to enjoy the facilities with meals and drinks included.

You can enjoy the Veranda and Club pools, both complying with the sanitary protocol of social distancing, synthetic grass Swiss soccer field, basketball and volleyball court, squash court, beach area, access to the gym and access to the Vivant Casino (services aren’t include in the rate)

Recreational activities such as an express massage by the pool, board games and cards, as well as bicycles for walks within the Resort. For adults and children, a playground and the Kids Club with supervisors who are in charge of putting together games for the little ones.

We also have rest areas such as “Birdsong”, a place under huge trees where you can enjoy a reading corner or stay with friends.

At night we have some entertainment activities such as magic shows or outdoor Acoustic Nights overlooking the Paraguay River.

All activities are scheduled in advance and subject to places limited by health protocols and availability according to the schedule of activities.
