What a great Merry Mingle. Got to try so many yummy appetizers and see so many friends. Merry Christmas & thank you!

The food is some of the worst on the island. For a place that requires a membership and wants to appear prestigious you would think the food would be half decent at least. The new interior and renovations are great but the menu is the same old boring, bland, simple food.

We had dinner there Saturday night and it was soon good. I had stuffed mussels as a starter and we had watermelon soup!!! Pecan encrusted pork YUMMY!

The atmosphere of this place hasn't changed much over the years. It's still small town, rinky dink, and overpriced. If you're looking for world-class, this isn't it. They have managed to renovate the décor occasionally in the last 45 years, but that's not saying much. The only thing high end are the prices. And, foodies beware: the food is mediocre, at best. Their main reason for success is that there's no competition in town. But if you're into this sort of thing, and want to pay the outrageous price for membership, go for it. I just don't think you get what you pay for.

We attended a wedding at the yacht club last night. First of all I must say that the yacht club is lovely with stunning views. If the ambience was the only criteria this would have been a 5-star review. Unfortunately the food and service were just okay. My husband had prime rib which he enjoyed. I had the chicken stuffed with crab which was over cooked and just not an appetizing meal. There were a number of service issues, however the most disappointing was when one of the guests at our table kindly asked to have her prime rib cooked a bit longer. The waitress was not happy and complained out loud about the request. Obviously not a professional response. I wanted to give this feedback so that any other bride and groom has the opportunity to work with the YCSH to ensure their celebration is one that is enjoyed by all of their guests.

It was so easy to work with YCSH for our wedding this June 2019. We live across the country in CA but our families are in the area. Patty made everything so easy for us and everything turned out smoothly and perfectly. The venue has just been remodeled and is so lovely inside and new! We got so many compliments on the food! We did passed hors d'oeuvres and then stations and open seating. The lobster rools, pasta station, and giant shrimp shooters and oyster bar were a hit especially. The layout is fantastic because you have a large dance floor where the DJ was setup, toasts and cake cutting were held, and mingling during cocktail hour could occur. Then there is a huge bar with 360 access so no one waited for a drink. There was a side area with couches and comfy chairs which were perfect for the older guests. Then the other side is setup as a dining room with enough round tables and chairs to fit our abotu 120 guests. You could easily put more tables on the gigantic dance floor and still have tons of dancing room. Finally there was the outdoor big deck where guests could watch the sunset. It was right by the hotels, about a 4 minute ride and they have a wraparound parking lot. We also used the jitney reserved in advance to get us back and forth. The photos on the dock during sunset are going to be so lovely, I can't wait to see them. All in all, the perfect venue for a classy, comfortable wedding.

Here’s yet another undated Stone Harbor snapshot most likely capturing another grand Fourth of July holiday or some other special occasion judging from all the American Flags in evidence.  The area featured is the Stone Harbor Yacht Club.  No pertinent information was provided with this image that resides at the Stone Harbor Museum archives.

This second image is just one of many scenes derived from a very old photo “folio” showing the Stone Harbor Yacht Club from the same perspective as the previous snapshot.  The “folio” was a precursor to what later in the era of linen post cards of the 1940s and 50s would be called “Souvenir Folders” that consisted of some 12 to 20 different Stone Harbor scenes that one would literally unfold and expand for easy viewing.  The assortment of images could then be refolded and become a single mailable folder or piece that could be addressed, properly stamped (usually for a penny more than the standard single post card postage rate at the time of mailing) and deposited for delivery in the mailstream by the U.S. Post Office Department.  Creating, publishing and marketing these so-called folios and souvenir folders was a clever way to share and show many different scenes to the folks back home about just what was special about a place, in this case, called Stone Harbor. 

Judging from the vintage 1920 automobiles depicted in this scene, we know that during this time period an automotive culture was clearly emerging, as the car shifted from a frivolous plaything to a virtual necessity.  Stone Harbor would be no exception: as the automobile became more commonplace in American society, more and more people including families and vacationers would flock to the South Jersey resort that was aptly characterized as “The Seashore At Its Best”.

Yacht Club of Stone Harbor Celebrating 90 Historic Years This Season

STONE HARBOR, N.J. (CBS) -- Sitting on the bay, pristine as a salt water pearl, the Yacht Club in Stone Harbor has surely aged gracefully. Celebrating its 90th birthday, it's had a little work done in a recent renovation but the attraction for members since 1929 hasn't solely been based on its looks, but it's sense of community.

Those that belong to the club all find one thing the most beautiful of all and that's the life lived under the sails.

"A a child, we were here almost every day -- sailing, swimming, playing games -- that's what we did. We came to the Yacht Club," said club historian Ellen McNeil.

American Legion Post 331 Resides In Historic, Oldest Building In Stone Harbor 

And while many different waves of change have hit the club -- like the ending of the regatta balls and the closure of the ladies-only dining room -- the sense of family and the feel of a summer's end has remained a constant.

"I'm very blessed that I've spent my life in Stone Harbor," McNeil said. "It's a wonderful way to spend the summer. I'm getting very sad I'm going home."

Where do I begin!... YCSH hosted a wedding that was better than what we imagined. The venue made all the difference on our ... special day. Taylor was an absolute DREAM to work with. When you book YCSH, you are booking an experienced team, who isincredibly accommodating and anticipates your every want and need. Their amazing hospitality left me speechless. Leading up tothe day, Taylor, our coordinator, responded to every email in a timely manner, made the most perfect suggestions, and alwaysanswered our questions with a positive and upbeat attitude. Taylor kept up with every email thread and noted every detail wespoke about (even details we discussed over a year out.) Impressed does not even begin to describe how I felt! Taylor made ourexperience impeccable. We are beyond grateful and owe her all of our thanks for making the day so special! Emma, the day-ofco-coordinator, was also fantastic! Her and Taylor were beyond kind and made us feel like we were a part of the community eachtime we visited the venue. It really comes down to whether ornot you have the cash to afford that purchase, and whether or not you feel, it real is a value for the money you are dishingout. COME ABOARD

The Yacht Club of Stone Harbor has 24 boat slips, two sets of docks, sailing programs for all levels, two restaurants, two bars, activities to keep the whole family engaged, and a view that can't be beaten.

Members often take advantage of this picturesque scene while enjoying a cocktail on the deck, or dining in one of our two bay front dining rooms. Our restaurant facilities are open year round. Throughout the summer, our families enjoy a wide variety of sailing, powerboating, and other sports activities, as well as social and community service events including youth activities. Our Youth Activities Program (YAP) sailing program provides seven weeks of instruction and fun for the children and grandchildren of our members. Classes include sailing instruction, kayaking, arts & crafts, swimming, and nature lessons.

We currently offer seven membership tiers. Please contact  us to request more information and an application.

Year-round club use, including all activities, trips, and special events.

May apply for boat slip and for participation in Youth Activities Program (YAP).

APPLICATION PROCESS

Submit an application along with letters of sponsorship from two current Senior or Proprietary members, a copy of your driver's license or government-issued identification, and a non-refundable application deposit check. Your completed application can be mailed to the club or dropped off in the Ship's Store. When all documents have been received, you will interview with the Membership Committee and your application will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval. Assuming acceptance of your application and providing there is no waiting list for your prospective membership class, you will then receive a request for payment of the joining fee, annual dues, and any other fees that may apply. Once payment has been received, your membership and all club privileges will be activated.
