SERENITY II Motor yacht for sale

With her steel hull and aluminium superstructure, her top speed is 13 knots, and she cruises at 11 knots. Her engineering and external design comes from the draft board of Endaze Muhendislik, and her interior was conceived by H2 Yacht Design.

Known for her elegant lines, SERENITY II features walkaround teak decks and uses her internal space to capacity. Forward on the main deck, the unusual 180-degree windows create amazing views in the VIP guest suite, which also has private use of the foredeck.

The upper deck is mainly given over to the owner’s suite: an aft facing cabin with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors opening onto the aft deck for their private dining and relaxation. The décor is cool and luxurious in silver-grey and cream, upholstered walls and Macassar cabinetry.

Forward on the upper deck is the well-equipped bridge where full beam windows line the cabin creating an uninterrupted view for the helm.

Another full beam VIP guest suite is situated on the lower deck, this has a bed positioned at an angle to help prevent discomfort. The yacht also has zero speed stabilisers to smooth her motion when underway and at anchor. There are three further double cabins on the lower deck. SERENITY II accommodates up to 13 guests in six cabins.

For living space, the main deck offers a saloon with an open plan lounge-dining room and a bar, which leads a partially covered aft deck with an outdoor table and banquette seating. On the extensive sun deck, guests can dine outside at another large table, sheltered by the hardtop, or sunbathe on the sunpads surrounding the jacuzzi forward. Plus there a sit-up bar.

The tender is a 5.8m Golden Line G580 with 150hp Mercury, which is stored on the upper aft deck, with a crane to launch. A 4.2m Golden Line with 90hp Mercury is stored on the lower deck, accessed through the transom. Also a range of water toys: jetskis, wakeboards, waterskis, scuba gear and towables.

SERENITY II needs nine crew to operate to her full potential. The captain has a double cabin by the bridge, the rest of the crew quarters are on the lower deck, including a dedicated mess room.

Turn-key and ready for new ownership, SERENITY II has been well maintained and consistently upgraded over the years. In 2022 she completed an extensive flag and classification survey, and then received a full hull repaint in 2021.

Serenity: The surprising and relaxing yacht from IAG

When owner and designer are on the same page, great things can happen. Cécile Gauert finds just that with the surprising and relaxing Serenity

A beautiful painting of a swan is the focus of the main deck dining room on board the surprising 40.52 metre yacht Serenity . It’s an interesting symbol for the latest and most complex yacht to emerge from the Chinese shipyard IAG Yachts (now part of Sunbird). Although there is nothing unusual about a builder reaching higher standards with each project, much credit for what was achieved with IAG’s new launch goes to Chris Heatley.

The owner of a successful commercial paint company based in Illinois, he’s been handling decisions regarding his family’s boats for years. The new Serenity , the third boat over 24 metres that they’ve had, succeeds a 35.23 metre Lazzara of the same name (now Long Aweighted ), which was not only a much-liked family yacht but also a successful charter yacht.

The adventure of building the new Serenity began about four years ago. “I started to get the itch for a bigger boat, something that could take us a little further, to the Caribbean, more comfortably,” says Heatley. The new Serenity needed to cater to a fun-loving multi-generational family, plus be an appealing option for people looking to charter. In addition, Heatley’s sister has limited mobility and he wanted to ensure that all four decks would be accessible to her.

With a mind bubbling with ideas, he hired an architect to do a first concept and began shopping for shipyards in earnest. Eventually, circumstances and a personal connection led him to IAG, which was building the 42 metre King Baby at the time, an ambitious project that gave the relatively new yacht builder credibility.

In IAG’s American representative at the time, Doug Hoogs, a broker with Atlantic Yacht & Ship, and designer Evan K Marshall , Heatley found a team willing to realise his ideas no matter how unorthodox — for instance, a wading pool on the superyacht sundeck .

“If they had not wanted to do that, I’d have found somebody who would,” says Heatley. But they had no intention of denying him. Stretching the envelope was appealing to the shipyard, which was then looking to make its mark on the US market, and to Marshall, an accomplished designer with an open mind.

Marshall recalls fondly his early meetings with Heatley as they worked on the layout and drew Serenity ’s lines. “He sent me an image of a boat with a reverse windshield and said ‘I really like the look of that. What would it look like?’ So we modelled it up quickly and we both thought, you know what, this is cool. Let’s go for that,” says Marshall.

Designing Serenity was truly a collaborative effort, with sketches going back and forth between client and designer. “I have a portfolio full of them,” says Marshall, who wanted to keep a family look with previous IAG boats, particularly King Baby , which he had designed, but was game to hear Heatley out.

“He is really an interesting guy, full of ideas and willing to take some risks, which is always fun for a designer who doesn’t want to play it safe,” he says. “From the outset he said he really wanted to have balconies.” Heatley wanted to be able to step outside to take in the views and the sea air, like you can on a cruise ship, an experience he remembers fondly from his childhood. Neither of them wanted complicated contraptions that require a crewmember to intervene any time someone wants a breath of fresh air.

So Serenity has three fixed  superyacht balconies  — two off the master stateroom forward on the main deck and one off the sky lounge — all easily accessible through automated sliding doors. These permanent fixtures added to the project’s complexity. The new Serenity , which flies the American flag, was built to comply with RINA class and MCA regulations and, naturally, surveyors had to sign off on everything.

The build captain had some reservations from an operational point of view, particularly when it came to the lower balconies. However, where there is a will, there is a way. Ballistic-grade glass, watertight seals and a steel banister, which is painted light grey to match the yacht’s hull, were part of the solution. A custom-designed inflatable bumper can be fitted beneath the lower balcony to protect it during mooring.

In addition to the balconies, a “bay window” built into the superstructure on the top deck extends the sky lounge over the water. Large enough for two armchairs, this special little corner is one of many interesting spaces on board Serenity . “It’s my favorite place to sit. You can look at the whole length of the boat and see the waves at the back,” says Heatley.

This nook is a short distance from the superyacht elevator , which goes all the way to the sundeck. An elevator on a boat of this size was a design challenge in itself, says Marshall. It opens on two sides, the galley side on the main deck and the corridor, allowing it to function not only as a guest elevator but also a food lift. There was no space left for stairs in this central location, and so they were moved to the aft part of the deck, on the starboard side. Marshall designed them in such a way that they would not obstruct views, which was important to the owner.

Marshall is very pleased with the results, not only with the sleek and original styling but also the interior design of Serenity . “It’s very relaxing and with so many places connected to the water, you can really enjoy the sea. Even the aft deck, which we had to raise because of the tender garage below, is a destination spot and, with a fold-out TV, a great outdoor area to watch sports.“

The interior was a true collaborative effort as well between Marshall, interior outfitting company Yacht Next and the yacht’s owners. Some of the colour scheme is repeated from the family’s previous yacht and the underlying Asian influence comes from Heatley’s home. The family wanted to achieve a feeling of relaxation to go with the name Serenity .

Interestingly, the colours grow gradually darker as you move up from lower to upper deck. Serenity ’s sky lounge is quite masculine, “more of a man cave,” says Heatley. Here is a nice bar with stools, a central credenza containing a humidor and a cosy lounging area facing an electric fireplace that puts out a lovely glow in the evening. It’s a subtle change that works well, particularly since there is continuity in the materials, including a wall finish that resembles a wood veneer from Maya Romanoff.

Although Marshall designed most of the furniture on board Serenity and suggested an interesting leitmotif found on doors throughout the boat — a stylized swan — Yacht Next selected the fabrics from brands such as Rubelli, the wall finishes, and many lighting fixtures.

Yacht Next’s owner, Joanne Lockhart, worked closely with the Heatleys, aptly navigating between the son’s desire for a more contemporary feel and his mother’s preference for a more classic look, evident in the choice of material and colours in the owner's cabin on Serenity ’s main deck. “I think Joanne and my mother did an excellent job,” says Heatley.

Still, many of Serenity ’s standout features were his idea. “I gave Evan a strong vision for the concepts I was looking for, the design of the superyacht spa pool , the wading pool, the skylights, the table that adjusts, the waterfall, the rock floor, the backlit columns, the full-beam stateroom downstairs that converts according to the needs of the family or charter guests. It goes on and on. When you walk through the boat, you can see a lot of different details,” he says.

It’s an accurate statement. Exploring Serenity is like playing a puzzle game that reveals surprises at each turn. I took great pleasure in getting more acquainted with this unconventional yacht as she cruised from Miami Beach after a boat show back to a marina near Fort Lauderdale. Through her large windows I watched the skyline unfold as Serenity slowly made her way through the shallows surrounding Miami Beach.

Standing by the master stateroom’s starboard balcony, listening to music softly playing from overhead speakers and watching clouds recede as the sun set proved a serene experience, worthy of the yacht’s name. Later, as Serenity headed out of the ship channel into a dark sea still reeling from a recent storm, I retreated to the darkened bridge bathed in the red glow of four screens switched to their night-time navigation mode.

Serenity forged ahead at a steady 11.5 to 12 knots, softly rolling off the tops of the waves, as efficient fin stabilisers and the hull design proved their worth. Italian naval architecture firm Axis Group Yacht Design worked with the yard to modify the hull of the IAG 127. It was extended, partly to accommodate a superyacht beach club and large swim platform, and was fitted with a bulb for better fuel efficiency.

Most of the equipment on board is from reputable American companies at Heatley’s request, in part for ease of service, as Serenity will cruise primarily between the East Coast of the US, the Bahamas and the Caribbean — Cuba is also in the plan.

At anchor the sundeck is an amazing entertainment area. In addition to the first-ever wading pool, mentioned earlier, it has an elevated round spa pool with waterfall, a bar, an up-and-down table that accommodates 12 guests, plus bar stools positioned along the side to enjoy views and, if desired, slushies made in the adjacent ice machine.

These are not just novelties born out of a fertile mind. “I love to design and I like the challenge of coming up with something that is functional,” says Heatley, who has experience designing houses. “At our home, we have a zero-entry pool that allows kids to play in two inches of water and we like to bring our lounge chairs into the water and enjoy the coolness. I thought ‘why not do this on the boat?’”

The challenge here was to overcome objections about the practicality of added water weight on top of three skylights. “You have to work everything out with RINA and MCA and all the governing bodies when you build a boat of this calibre.”

From the original idea of having the waterfall from the spa pool overflow into a holding area to create the wading pool, the team came up with a far easier solution. A simple water hose is used to fill the area to a water depth of about two inches. Once Serenity is ready to leave her mooring or the dock, the water is simply pushed to drain over the sides.

Heatley also wanted a welcoming and functional galley with beautiful finishes and windows “so it does not feel like a dungeon” for the chef, who is as important to the family — all cooking fans — as he is for charter guests. The crew, says Heatley, is instrumental to a successful charter program, maybe more so than a well designed yacht, even one with as many tricks as Serenity has.

Heatley readily admits that he had to be more involved than he’d really wanted to be during construction and had to bolster his build team to ensure that the shipyard would meet his expectations. “It was imperative to make sure no corners were cut,” he says. “At the end of the day the quality is top notch,” he says — well worthy of the beautiful swan at the heart of the interior design.

Screen Rant

Ben willoughby considers exposing the truth about below deck season 11 crew.

Ben Willoughby from Below Deck season 11 might spill the tea about what happened behind the scenes after he was given a "villain edit."

  • Considering exposing the truth about Below Deck season 11 crew, Ben reveals he may not return due to unseen issues.
  • Ben believes he got the "villain edit" on Below Deck, but is open to appearing on Below Deck Mediterranean or Sailing Yacht.
  • Feeling misrepresented on the show, Ben expresses frustration over lack of context in episodes airing on Bravo.

Ben Willoughby has been the center of some of the romantic drama on Below Deck , and now he is considering " exposing the truth " about the Below Deck season 11 crew . He began this season as a deckhand under former Bosun Jared Woodin, but Ben was later promoted to Bosun himself when Jared left the boat for personal reasons. While he was a deckhand, Ben began a "boatmance" with another exterior crew member, Mary "Sunny" Marquis, who has admitted she has the tendency to get jealous. Ben was concerned but confident when he agreed to take on the new role in Below Deck season 11 .

"There's too much that isn't seen. I'm at a crossroads as to whether the truth needs to be told."

Now Ben is considering getting honest and giving viewers all the behind the scenes details on what really went down with the cast of Below Deck . During a Q&A on his Instagram Stories, which was captured by Teanailpolish on Reddit, Ben was asked if he would consider returning to Below Deck , to which Ben cryptically responded, " I once used to love Below Deck ."

Then another questioner asked Ben, " Wait, why are you saying you used to love BD?! What happened? " He answered by saying, " There's too much that isn't seen. I'm at a crossroads as to whether the truth needs to be told. "

Ben Willoughby Wants To Join Below Deck Med & Sailing Yacht

Why ben feels like he got the "villain edit".

Ben is coming clean about how he feels regarding future episodes of himself in Below Deck season 11, including whether or not there are any episodes he is nervous about seeing air. " Not really ," Ben answered, " I can't control the edit. I know what I stood for in these episodes to come. The entire production team knows the crap I had to deal with this season. " While he did not go into specifics, Ben said that he believes former Below Deck Bosun Eddie Lucas and former chef Rachel Hargrove did not return for the same reason he is considering not returning .

I can't control the edit. I know what I stood for in these episodes to come.

Ben was asked if Below Deck season 11 accurately portrayed the cast, to which Ben answered, " Some for worse than they are, some for better than they are. " Even though there seems to be some conflict and frustration surrounding being a cast member on Below Deck , the original television series in the franchise, Ben was enthusiastic about possibly appearing and working on Below Deck Sailing Yacht or Below Deck Mediterranean . He said if he were offered the opportunity to be on either of the two shows, he would do it " in a heartbeat ."

Ben was also asked if sleeping with a subordinate has had a negative effect on the way he is portrayed on Below Deck . Ben said no, he did not think that was the problem with why he was portrayed in a bad light. He explained that what really hurt him was all of the supposedly cut audio that would have provided context for each situation . Ben said he was being pulled in every direction in order to try and run a smooth department. However, when asked how it felt to be promoted to Bosun, he said that it was awesome.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

When Ben suggests there may be a lot more going on behind the scenes, it can be frustrating for those who have invested their time into watching Below Deck . It is not surprising that cast members on a reality television show may feel that they were denied an accurate representation of themselves due to the way episodes are edited. Ben is not the first castmate to state that they were given the "villain" edit for no reason other than the show needed a villain. However, with the entertainment that Below Deck always brings, there are many reasons to keep watching.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo, then streams the following day on Peacock.

Below Deck is a popular reality TV franchise that focuses on a group of crew members as they work on luxurious yachts and cater to their client's needs. After the original series proved to be a success, Bravo developed a handful of spinoff shows including Below Deck Selling Yacht, Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean.

Luxury yachts and other myths: How Republican lawmakers echo Russian propaganda

A woman examines the rubble of a destroyed building

Two senior Republican lawmakers, the chairs of the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs committees, say their colleagues are echoing Russian state propaganda against Ukraine.

Researchers who study disinformation say Reps. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, and Michael McCaul, R-Texas, are merely acknowledging what has been clear for some time: Russian propaganda aimed at undermining U.S. and European support for Ukraine has steadily seeped into America’s political conversation over the past decade, taking on a life of its own.

McCaul, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told Puck News he thinks “Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base.”

Turner, chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told CNN that anti-Ukraine messages from Russia are “being uttered on the House floor.”

Reps. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, and Mike Turner, R-Ohio, leave a House Republican Conference candidate forum

For the past decade, since Russia’s first military incursion into Ukraine in 2014, Moscow has spread propaganda and disinformation in a bid to undercut U.S. and European military support for Ukraine, according to U.S. and Western officials.

Some of the arguments, distortions and falsehoods spread by Russia have taken root, mostly among right-wing pro-Trump outlets and Republican politicians, researchers say, including that Ukraine’s government is too corrupt to benefit from Western aid and that the Biden family has alleged corrupt ties to Ukraine.

Russia, in keeping with traditional propaganda techniques, seeks to make its case and tarnish Ukraine through a mixture of outright falsehoods, half-truths, inferences or simply amplifying and promoting arguments already being made by American or European commentators and politicians, researchers say.

The propaganda is sometimes spread covertly, through fake online accounts, or openly by Russian officials and state media. As a result, the origin of some allegations or criticisms is often opaque, especially when a certain accusation or perception has gained wide acceptance, leaving no clear fingerprints.

Early in the war, a false story boosted by Russian propaganda — that the U.S. had helped Ukraine build biological weapons labs — gained traction on right-wing social media and was touted by then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Russia also is conducting a parallel propaganda campaign in Europe. Belgium’s prime minister said Thursday that his government is investigating alleged Russian bribes to members of the European Parliament as part of Moscow’s campaign to undermine support for Ukraine. Czech law enforcement officials last month alleged that a former pro-Russian member of Ukraine’s parliament, Viktor Medvedchuk, was behind a Prague-based Russian propaganda network designed to promote opposition to aiding Ukraine.

Here are some examples of Republican lawmakers using arguments often promoted by Russian propaganda:

Buying yachts

When Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with members of Congress behind closed doors in December to appeal for more U.S. help for his country’s troops, some lawmakers raised questions about Ukraine allegedly buying yachts with American aid money.

Zelenskyy made clear that was not the case, according to Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, a strong supporter of arming Ukraine. “I think the notion of corruption came up because some have said we can’t do it, because people will buy yachts with the money,” Tillis told CNN. “[Zelenskyy] disabused people of those notions.”

Where did the yacht rumor come from?

Pro-Russian actors and websites promoted a narrative alleging Zelenskyy bought two superyachts with U.S. aid dollars. One Russia-based propaganda site, DC Weekly , published a story last November that included photos of two luxury yachts, called Lucky Me and My Legacy , which it alleged were bought for $75 million.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., a vocal opponent of military aid to Ukraine, in November retweeted a post about the alleged yacht purchase from the Strategic Culture Foundation, a Russian-based propaganda outlet directed by Russia’s intelligence services, according to the Treasury Department. The U.S. has imposed sanctions on the organization, accusing it of spreading disinformation and interfering in U.S. elections.

Another outspoken critic of aid to Ukraine, Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, also made a similar claim.

In a December interview with former President Donald Trump’s White House adviser Steve Bannon, Vance claimed that members of Congress wanted to cut Social Security benefits to provide more aid to Ukraine, and that money would allegedly be used for Zelenskyy’s ministers to “buy a bigger yacht.”

“There are people who would cut Social Security, throw our grandparents into poverty. Why? So that one of Zelenskyy’s ministers can buy a bigger yacht?” Vance said. “Kiss my ass, Steve. It’s not happening.”

Donald Trump looks as J.D. Vance speaks.

The tale of Zelenskyy’s luxury yacht, however, turned out to be totally false . The yachts cited in the DC Weekly article remain up for sale , the owners told The Associated Press.

Two academics at Clemson University, disinformation researchers Darren Linvill and Patrick Warren, found that DC Weekly ran numerous stories copied from other sites that were rewritten by artificial intelligence engines. The articles had bylines with fake names along with headshots copied from other online sites. DC Weekly appeared to be a Russian effort to launder false information through a seemingly legitimate news site as part of an attempt to undermine U.S. support for Ukraine, according to the researchers .

Asked by reporters about Vance’s comments, Tillis said: “I think it’s bullshit. ...If you’re talking about giving money to Ukrainian ministers — total and unmitigated bullshit.”

Greene’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

Vance’s spokesperson said the senator was making a rhetorical point about how he opposed sending U.S. assistance to what he sees as a corrupt country, but was not asserting the yacht stories online were accurate.

Vance’s office referred NBC News to an earlier response to the BBC on the same topic:

“For years, everyone in the West recognized that Ukraine was one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Somehow everyone forgot that just as we started sending them billions of dollars in foreign aid.”

Enabling ‘corruption’

Russian state media for years has painted Ukraine as deeply corrupt, and has argued that the U.S. and its allies are wasting money and military hardware by assisting such an allegedly corrupt government.

“This is absolutely a line that they have pushed, and then once it appears in the Western ecosystem, other [Russian] media picks it up and it gets recycled back,” said Bret Schafer, a senior fellow at the Alliance for Securing Democracy.

This line of argument has gained traction partly because Ukraine does face a genuine corruption problem.

Russia’s effort to focus attention on corruption in Ukraine reflects a long-established propaganda method of using facts or partial truths to anchor a broader assertion or accusation, sometimes making a leap in logic, Schafer and other researchers said. Russia’s message amounts to: Ukraine is corrupt, therefore U.S. and Western aid will be stolen and wasted.

Schafer said it was ironic for Russia, a country mired in corruption and kleptocracy, to be leveling accusations about corruption.

Republican Rep. Mary Miller has said she strongly opposes more assistance for Ukraine because it amounts to sending cash to “corrupt oligarchs.”

“With Zelensky coming to DC this week to ask for more money, I will continue to vote AGAINST sending your tax $$ to corrupt oligarchs in Ukraine for a proxy war that could have ended in ‘22,” Miller wrote in a post on X in December.

The Illinois lawmaker also echoed another assertion that often appears in Russian media, that the Biden administration allegedly undermined efforts by Russia to avoid war with Ukraine.

“A peace deal was on the table that [Ukraine] and [Russia] were both ready to sign, but Biden said NO,” she wrote.

There was in fact no proposed peace agreement that Russia and Ukraine were prepared to sign before Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, according to U.S. and European officials. As Russian troops massed on the border of Ukraine, Western governments urged Russia not to invade and warned there would be economic and diplomatic consequences.

Reuters has reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected a possible deal to avert a war that had been discussed with Kyiv by Russia’s envoy to Ukraine. The Kremlin said the report was inaccurate and has said Russia tried for years to arrive at an understanding with Ukraine.

As for corruption in Ukraine, Zelenskyy has vowed to tackle the problem, sacking senior officials in some recent cases. But some civil society groups have criticized his approach and Ukrainians say corruption is the country’s second-most serious problem, after the Russian invasion, according to a poll conducted last year.

In an annual survey, Transparency International said Ukraine made progress toward addressing the issue and now ranks 104th out of 180 countries on its Corruption Perceptions Index , climbing 12 places up from its previous ranking.

Ukraine is not alone among countries that receive U.S. and other foreign aid but struggle with corruption. Supporters of assisting Ukraine argue it would undermine America’s influence in the world and its humanitarian efforts if Washington withheld foreign aid from every country where there were reports of corruption.

Miller’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

The Biden family and Ukraine

Republicans have repeatedly alleged that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter have corrupt ties to Ukraine, and that they sought $5 million in bribes from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma to protect the firm from an investigation by Ukraine’s prosecutor general.

There is no credible evidence for the allegations. A key source for the accusations against the Bidens is a former FBI informant, Alexander Smirnov, who was arrested in February on federal charges of fabricating the bribery claims. Smirnov says he was fed information by Russian intelligence.

Republicans had heavily promoted Smirnov’s allegations against the Bidens, seeing them as crucial to a planned impeachment effort against the president that has since fizzled .

“In my estimation, that is probably the clearest example of Russian propaganda working its way into the American political system,” said Emerson Brooking, a resident senior fellow at the Digital Forensic Research Lab of the Atlantic Council.

GOP Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona cited the false bribery allegations in expressing his opposition to providing assistance to Ukraine.

“In exchange for … bribe money from Ukraine, Joe Biden has dished out over $100 billion in taxpayer money to fund the war in Ukraine. I will not assist this corruption by sending more money to the authoritarian Ukrainian regime,” Gosar said in a statement in October.

Gosar’s office did not respond to a request for comment.

MOREMAN Restaurant at Avrora Yacht Club

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

There is varied menu: raw bar with good sea-urchins, hot and cold starters, main dishes and desserts. Good cocktails and wine card. There is a big terrace. This club is located near the water (it’s obvious:) ), but the view is a partly industrial -... there is construction on the opposite bank and this ruins the view. This restaurant is spacious and it suits for different events. More

Below Deck Season 11, Episode 11 Recap: The St. David Needs an HR Department

serenity 11 yacht

Welcome back to  Below Deck  Season 11, Episode 11. In this week’s episode, titled “Royal Rumble,” a new stew on board gets Ben’s attention, and Sunny’s not happy about it. Ben makes a problematic choice for his new lead deckhand, and following last week’s big blowout , Barbie and Fraser make a fresh start in their working relationship. Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Season 11, Episode 11.

Barbie makes a toast

serenity 11 yacht

Last week, Barbie was crying on the phone with her mom after yet another fight with Fraser. Can’t these two just make peace with each other? Fraser’s your boss, Barbs. Stop arguing about everything.

“Can you not be a bad bitch and just do it?” Kyle asks her.

“I am a bad bitch,” she says. “I’ve never quit anything in my life.”

“If you quit,” Kyle says, “I will never, ever speak to you again.”

Everyone’s getting cleaned up after the beach day to go out to dinner. Sunny thinks Ben is giving far too much attention to the new girl Paris.

“I feel as though I’m dating this guy since pretty much the first crew night out,” she interviews. So, having sex with someone equals dating now? That’s stretching things a bit, but Sunny feels Ben’s flirting with Paris is “so disrespectful to me.”

“That’s not cool,” she adds. “You just look like an asshole.”

At dinner, Barbie suddenly announces, “Crew, I just want to apologize for all the sh*t that happened today. Everybody here knows that there’s sh*t going between me and Fraser. There’s a sh*t ton of drama going on. Fraser, we have to figure this out, and I’m really sorry it has affected everybody.” I think she meant well, but it just didn’t land right.

“That’s the worst toast I’ve ever heard,” Xandi says. “I think she just made things worse.”

“It was more of a passive/aggressively f*ck you sort of thing,” Kyle interviews.

“This is a sh*t show,” Paris laughs.

“That was the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life,” Fraser tells Xandi. “I’m done, and tomorrow we’ll be three stews again.”

The new girl

Sunny’s had enough of Ben’s drooling over Paris. Finally, she trades places with Kyle at the other end of the table.

“I’ve got no idea what’s going on with Sunny and I,” Ben interviews cluelessly. “F*cking hell. Why am I in a situation like this again? Women!” Because you can’t keep it in your pants, dumbsh*t. You shouldn’t fish off the company pier.

Ben asks Sunny to go for a “ciggy.” When Paris tries to tag along, Sunny tells her, “No, just him and I.” Awkward.

“I just want to spend more time with you,” Ben says.

“I feel disrespected,” she responds. “[You were touching Paris’] waist and ass … in front of everyone. That is just not okay, Ben.”

“I like you,” he says. “You know that.”

“I like you, too,” she says. “Are we on the same page, though? Are we an item?”

“We’re not dating,” Ben says abruptly. Like I said, having sex does not equal “dating.”

“We’re becoming an item,” Ben adds. “We sleep together.”

“We’re just sleeping together,” Sunny repeats. “That’s it?” Oh, honey. He’s a player. Cut your losses now and save some shred of your dignity.

“Sunny,” he interrupts. “We have half a season to go. Hopefully, by the end, we can be dating … But right now, we’re [just] sleeping together.”

“Okay,” she snaps. “Cool.”

In the van returning to the boat, Sunny tells Barbie, Anthony, and Dylan, “The conversation we just had was so full of sh*t. He’s all over Paris. I’m not the only one seeing that sh*t.”

Over in the other van, Ben asks Paris, “Did I touch your ass today?”

“Probably, I don’t know,” she answers. “It gets touched regularly. I had probably, like, four people touch my ass. It’s a hello.” Girl, set some boundaries. That’s not okay.

Captain Kerry cools Fraser’s jets

serenity 11 yacht

The next morning, Fraser radios Captain Kerry and asks to meet with him.

“I need [Barbie] gone,” Fraser interviews. “She’s causing that much aggravation amongst my team.”

“Hey, matey,” Kerry greets Fraser. “Give it to me.”

“[Barbie’s] lack of respect … is [unacceptable],” Fraser says. “Insubordination is a fireable offense. The cherry on top was after yesterday, she made a speech … airing her dirty laundry between [us] to the whole table. It’s horrible.”

“We need to find someone first,” the captain responds. “I don’t want to be down a stew. The second thing is separating business from personal … Her insulting you on a day off, you took that personally, which is fine. [But] it’s separate from business.”

“I understand,” Fraser says. “This started three days ago on charter.” Even though I love Fraser, I think he’s being overly sensitive and just needs to find a way to work with Barbie.

“But you told me two days ago she was doing a great job,” Kerry says.

“She does a good job,” Fraser responds. “She’s just impossible to work with.”

“Leadership isn’t just about hiring and firing,” Kerry says. “I know you want to improve on your strength as a leader, but strength isn’t always acting on the power that you have.”

“That’s a very good point,” Fraser admits.

“I’m happy to have a talk with her,” Kerry offers. “Try your best to remove the emotion from the situation.”

“It’s starting to feel like Fraser’s pushing his own agenda more than the boat’s agenda,” he observes in a confessional. “It’s a problem for anybody who’s in a leadership role to let their emotions override their decision-making. One thing I can do to help Fraser become a fantastic chief stew is to not act on emotion.”

Captain pep talks Barbie

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Barbara Pascual (@barbiepascuall)

Captain radios Barbie to meet him on the aft deck before telling the rest of the crew he’ll “be off the boat for a while.”

“F*ck me,” Barbie mutters.

At a picnic table in the shade, Captain begins, “I spoke to Fraser. There seems to be some personality conflict thing going on, and I just want to ask how I can help.”

“It’s such an honor to be under Fraser, who knows so much,” she says. “But … we clash.”

“You’ve gotta get through that,” Kerry says.

“That’s the thing,” she agrees. “Lately, I’ve just shut up … I’m just gonna [smile]. I’ve never had a chief stew. I’ve always been a solo stew. Maybe that’s also a challenge.”

“And it’s emotions,” Kerry adds. “He respects the work you do. You can’t fix what he does, but you can fix the way you see things. If you’re in a bad head space and you can’t handle it, you’ve just gotta say, ‘Right now I’m struggling. I’ll do my best’ … If that doesn’t work, come and talk to me.”

“That’s a solid approach,” Barbie says. “I need to sit down with Fraser.”

“I’m gonna talk to him now and tell him to come out here,” Kerry decides. “You all right with that?”

When she says yes, he returns to the boat and tells Fraser, “I just had a chat with her. It would be very good if you would go and have a talk with her as well.”

“She wants to stay here,” Kerry continues. “She wants to do a great job, and she does respect you. But her delivery’s not great, and she realizes it’s wrong. For you, as a manager, I would want to listen and just process it before you respond. What do you think?”

Peace … for now

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Fraser (@fraserolender)

So, Fraser heads off to meet Barbie. “I’m a bit sad yesterday ended the way it did,” he tells her. “I want things to be better.”

“I just want you to know, I really do actually admire you,” Barbie responds. “And I know I can be a nightmare.”

“You can,” Fraser says. Fraser’s no Miss Congeniality, either.

“What you and I had since Cat left,” he continues, “we worked with such harmony and such grace. You were that person in service that I need … I think if we put effort into it again, I think we have some really f*cking good stuff ahead of us.”

“Just start over,” she says. “Don’t fire me.”

“I’ll try not to,” he laughs. And they’re friends again. But how long will it last? They’re both very strong-willed.

Ben appoints a lead deckhand

serenity 11 yacht

Ben needs a lead deckhand. “I need someone I can trust on the bow and to be my eyes and ears when I’m not there,” he says.

Kyle doesn’t have enough experience, so it’s between Dylan and Sunny. Dylan’s new and isn’t that familiar with the boat. Sunny doesn’t have that much experience, but she’s eager to learn and improve.

But if he chooses Sunny, the rest of the crew will think it’s because they’re sleeping together. If he makes Dylan the lead, Sunny will get pissed off. That’s why you shouldn’t screw the crew, Ben.

Finally, he chooses Sunny, who’s the best candidate overall, but there are bound to be some questions.

The captain is pleased and agrees that she’s the right person for the job. But he doesn’t know about Ben and Sunny after hours. Ben thinks Sunny can keep work and personal life separate while staying professional.

When Ben makes the announcement, Sunny is thrilled. But Dylan thinks, “He’s got to be joking. This isn’t [April Fools’ Day].” When he realizes Ben’s serious, he decides to take it in stride and be cool with it. But even though he says he’s not going to “be a dick,” he can’t help complaining in the privacy of his own cabin.

“Let’s do our best, Dyl,” he says, “regardless of the situation. [But] Sunny’s asking me for advice. How is a lead deckhand supposed to be asking a lower deckhand how to do things? Oh, yeah, I forgot! You just have to have sex with the bosun to get there.” Dylan’s a little odd. He’s having an entire conversation all by himself.

“If I had a vagina, I would not be in this situation,” he concludes. So, not so cool then, Dyl?

Dylan’s not-so-private pity party

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ben Willoughby (@wanderingwilloughby)

Dylan’s still upset about Sunny’s promotion. And Ben rubbing her neck on the job that afternoon was not professional.

Dylan tells Barbie that he has more experience than Sunny. “Be a big man about it,” Barbie advises.

“Sunny’s my girl,” Barbie interviews. “[But] personally … I’m team Dylan here. I think her getting the job has a lot to do with her relationship with Ben. It just doesn’t really make sense.”

Next, Dylan complains to Paris that he’s “pissed off [that] Ben made Sunny lead deckhand … I’ve got [more experience] … And they’re f*cking, right? It just feels like a slap in the face.”

Later, Paris tells Ben, “Dylan’s a little upset that you chose [Sunny]. He thinks that you’ve given it to her ‘cause you’re banging … His panties are 100% wrapped around his ball sack.” Ugh. I didn’t need that image in my head.

“It’s not about qualifications,” Ben says. “It’s about attitude on deck. [His] going around to other crew members is … not okay in my books. It’s starting to piss me the f*ck off.”

When Ben sees Dylan, he says, “I’m gonna talk to you tomorrow … [It’s] come through the grapevine that you’ve been chatting to other people about [me making] Sunny lead deckhand.” Wait, if you’re going to talk to him tomorrow, why are you talking to him now, Ben? You’re stealing your own thunder.

“For f*ck sakes,” Dylan says in a confessional. “You’re offended by the fact that I am offended by your sh*tty decision. Dude, f*ck off. I guess I cannot tell anyone anything.” It’s not that big of a boat, dude.

Below Deck  continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
