Superyacht owners are often guarded about the interiors of their vessels, just as most of us would be with the interior of our homes. This week, the owner of Lana —one of the largest yachts ever built by the Benetti yard in Italy—allowed images of the 351-footer to go public, courtesy of Imperial Yachts , which was the owner’s representative on the build and now is overseeing the yacht’s charter.

Lana has no shortage of exquisite features, from the hand-sculpted onyx dining table to a winter garden that overlooks the sea. There’s also a large swimming pool, cinema room, a full gym and multiple social spaces, indoors and out.

The vessel’s interior is vast but tasteful. The beach club, in its way, represents the overall elegance of the yacht, with a large salon on the interior that connects to large fold-out terraces on either side, and lounges in the hallway between treatment rooms. A hammam , or Turkish bath, with ornate walls and large marble table, expands the beach club’s spa experience.

The interior is elegant, contemporary and spacious, such as the main dining area with a table for 16.  Imperial Yachts

The ensemble of spacious cabins, comprised of the owner’s suite on the wheelhouse deck and seven VIP staterooms on the main deck, add to the sense of luxury across the yacht. The full-beam master cabin has windows and a terrace on both sides, with pieces of modern art, Art Deco-style light fixtures and stylized wood paneling. The 8’9”-high ceilings add to the suite’s sense of space.

The main deck is defined by dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the superstructure, allowing plenty of natural light, while the 50-foot beam fosters the sense of open space. Social areas were critical to the design of this yacht and include everything from the terraces by the pool to a salon up near the wheelhouse, complete with a baby grand piano.

Lana ’s beautiful interior can be experienced as a charter yacht in the Mediterranean, and next winter, in the Indian Ocean. “Lana has an incredible appeal that will make her, for sure, the next decade superyacht charter yacht to experience in her range,” Julia Stewart, Imperial director, said in a statement. “She is bold, unique, sleek and aggressive, mixing perfect experience at sea with unforgettable charter moments.”

LANA Yacht – Stunning $250 Million Superyacht

LANA yacht is a 107-meter (351.1 ft) yacht built by Italian shipyard Benetti in 2021. She is available for charter for $1.8 million per week and is owned by an unknown millionaire.

LANA is currently the 45th largest yacht in the world at a total length of 107 meters (351.1 ft).

The LANA yacht was entirely built and designed by Benetti, which includes her beautiful interior.

Twelve guests can stay aboard the luxury yacht in six spacious cabins, including a stunning master suite. Thirty-three crew members are accommodated in sixteen cabins below the deck.

The yacht includes a hammam, a spa with an onboard massage therapist, a large cinema, and a state-of-the-art entertainment system that allows guests to listen to music on all parts of the vessel.

The interior of LANA is beautifully decorated with opulent furnishings. Creme tones and wood accents create a tasteful and timeless design and the feeling of true luxury.

The spa area and hammam of the yacht are decorated with beautiful and intricate mosaics that set the interior of this yacht apart.

Specifications

The LANA yacht is an elegant 107-meter (351.1 ft) long yacht with a 14.4-meter (47.3 ft) beam and a 4.3-meter (14.1 ft) draft.

She weighs 3891 tons and is powered by Rolls Royce Diesel and electric engines.

Her maximum speed lies at 18 knots, although she most comfortably cruises at 16 knots which put her range at 4,000 nautical miles on average. 

The LANA yacht is a beautiful all-white yacht designed by the Italian shipyard and designer Benetti.

She has a helipad, a generous heated outdoor swimming pool with a comfortable seating area, and a beach club with folding terraces located aft of the vessel.

Her many decks invite guests to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean or dine al fresco. Since LANA is available for charter, she carries a wide variety of water toys on board.

This includes jet skis, sea bobs, wakeboards, water skis, windsurfing equipment, scuba diving gear, inflatables, fishing equipment, and even biodegradable golf balls.

The list goes on, and a charter trip with LANA will never be boring.

The LANA yacht cost her anonymous owner an estimated US $200 million, although the exact sales price is not known.

She generates annual running costs of US $10 to 20 million and is available for charter through Imperial Yachts for US $1.8 million per week.

Benetti delivers 107m M/Y 'LANA'

Following her official delivery last week, Benetti is now boarding M/Y ‘LANA’s final buyer’s supplies for her departure. LANA is one of three Benetti giga-yacht constructions – a program which is the result of significant investment that the shipyard has made over time both in terms of technical resources and investments,  upgrading infrastructure and the construction processes.

LANA was kept at the yard during the winter season following the client’s desire to add, among others features, two Kongsberg wing stations, which are state of the art in terms of complexity and innovation, according to the yard. 

“I am absolutely satisfied with the work done by Benetti and Imperial together. LANA represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every single detail was executed to perfection. I am glad we all made her this way to prove a new level of the Italian shipbuilding industry,” commented the vessels owner. 

LANA was designed entirely by Benetti’s in-house teams, and the naval architecture is by Pier Luigi Ausonio Naval Architecture (P.L.A.N.A). She is powered by twin diesel-electric engines of 2,800 kW each, has a top speed of 18.5 knots, and a range of 5,500 nm at 12 knots. She can accommodate up to 12 guests across eight cabins, including 7 VIP rooms on the main deck, and is tended by 34 crewmembers.

The testing and commissioning of LANA’s complex equipment was carried out in Livorno by Benetti technicians under the remote supervision and direction of the equipment’s manufacturers, respectively based in England, Norway and Sweden. In the current difficult circumstances, a remote approach had to be adopted, even on technical aspects of the vessel, but this proved to be a true test of a new way of working.

According to data provided by The Superyacht Agency , Benetti continues to predominantly build vessels between the 45m - 55m mark but has seen an increasing average LOA year on year since 2017. The giga-yacht market is certainly one that is less saturated than the 50m market, and is clearly one that Benetti is keen to continue to explore. 

LANA , one of three 100m+ Benetti giga-yachts, has been described as “a testament to Benetti’s commitment to championing a new era of large yacht building in Italy” by a representative from the yard, who continued to state that she is the resounding success of the yard’s very first ‘giga-season’.

“We are proud to have delivered another giga-yacht in our giga-season,” commented Paolo Vitelli, President - Benetti. “ LANA is an example of excellence: outstanding quality, unique style, and an icon of Made in Italy. First Look Video: On Board the 107 Metre Benetti Superyacht Lana

A first-look video on board the 107 metre Benetti superyacht Lana has been revealed for the first time. 

The video, released by Imperial , shows the yacht on charter and tours on board areas including the beach club, sundeck and master cabin. 

The yacht, one of the largest ever built by Benetti, was officially delivered to its owner on June 18.

Speaking about the yacht, the owner previously said: "I am absolutely satisfied by the work done by Benetti and Imperial together.  Lana  represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every singly detail was executed to perfection.”

Previously known as  FB 277 , Lana is one of the largest yachts built by Benetti.

The yacht is now available for charter exclusively through  Imperial , which also acted as owner's representative and build supervisor.

Imperial director Julia Stewart said: “ Lana  has an incredible appeal that will make her, for sure, the next decade superyacht charter yacht to experience in her range once in a lifetime".

Constructed from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure,  Lana  has a maximum beam of 15.2 metres.

Described as sporting "an elongated and linear profile", the yacht balances a "contemporary and minimal design" with "a tasteful interior decoration" furnished with bright furniture and wide windows.

Naval architecture has been provided by Benetti and Pierluigi Ausonio while her exterior and interior design has been completed in-house by Benetti's design teams. Key features include a beach club with Hammam and pool on the sun deck.

Lana  is powered by a diesel electric propulsion system for a top speed of 18.5 knots. She will have a cruising speed of 16 knots.

Accommodation is for a total of 12 guests in eight cabins, including seven VIPs on the main deck. The crew quarters comprises 18 cabins for a maximum staff of 32.

Top100: 107m Lana Delivered & Listed for Charter

Benetti has officially announced the delivery of 107 metre superyacht Lana to her owners. The Top100 superyacht was part of Benetti ’s first ‘Giga season’ in which three 100m+ yachts were launched by the Italian shipyard.

Lana represents the very best of Benetti Italian excellence, with the shipyard’s in-house expertise taking full control of both the interior and exterior design. The 107m superyacht features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, along with a beam of 15.2 metres which affords glorious guest spaces throughout. Lana is future-proof with a diesel-electric propulsion system, large swimming pool, helipad, spa and an array of toys and tenders. Imperial has acted as Build Supervisor and Owner’s Representative throughout, and Lana will now become part of Imperial’s Charter Central Agency fleet.

The official delivery was conducted on 18th June after the Owner decided to keep the superyacht at the Benetti yard during the winter season, during which time she was fitted with extra amenities including two innovative Kongsberg wing stations. Upon completion, the Owner was certainly thrilled with the outcome, stating: “ I am absolutely satisfied with the work done by Benetti and Imperial together. Lana represents a statement of building excellence, every technical feature, every aesthetic element, every single detail was executed to perfection. I am glad we all made this way to prove a new level of Italian shipbuilding industry .”

A mesmerising 107m long structure, Lana is the epitome of why Italy has such a stronghold in the superyacht industry. She draws on the very best of Benetti’s heritage but also its commitment to pioneering technology, unparalleled quality and iconic elegance. Rigorous testing was completed successfully under the current challenging circumstances, with remote supervision arranged with equipment manufacturers in England, Norway and Sweden.

Benetti Delivers 107m Lana, Available for Charter with Imperial

Benetti has delivered the 107m Lana to her owner, with the eight-cabin gigayacht joining Imperial’s Charter Central Agency fleet.

The 107m Benetti Lana is available for charter through Imperial after the eight-cabin gigayacht joined the Monaco house’s Charter Central Agency fleet, following delivery to her owner in mid-June.

Imperial represents the owner and was also the build supervisor for Lana , whose project name was FB277.

Lana , which joins the 136m Flying Fox in Imperial’s charter fleet, has a crew of 34. She can accommodate up to 12 guests in eight cabins, comprising seven VIP suites on the main deck and a full-beam master suite, which is located on the wheelhouse deck and has two balconies.

Benetti’s in-house team created both the interior and exterior design of the gigayacht, which has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, a 15.2m beam and a volume of 3,900GT.

PLANA (PierLuigi Ausonio Naval Architecture) handled the naval architecture of the yacht, which is powered by twin 2,800kW diesel-electric engines, and has a top speed of 18.5 knots and a range of 5,500nm at 12 knots. Two Kongsberg wing stations were among recent additions requested by the owner.

Hailed as Benetti ‘s first “Gigayacht”, the 107m Lana  is an exquisite custom-built motor yacht launched in 2019 and one of the largest yachts available. Over five decks,  Lana  boasts every conceivable lifestyle attribute that her 12 charter guests could dream of. For utter relaxation and well-being,  Lana has a large spa with a hammam, gym, and mosaic-tiled massage room forward adjacent to the beach club and an inviting pool on the sundeck that can be enjoyed cool or warm. The seven guest staterooms are located on the main deck. On the wheelhouse deck is the full-beam owner’s suite with two balconies, original modern art, Art Deco-style light fixtures, and finely crafted timber panelling. Each VIP guest cabin is decorated in an individual color scheme making each room unique. Her 34 professional charter crew occupy cabins on the lower deck, with the remaining cabins a further level down.

For entertainment, the owner and guests can watch movies in the upper saloon or on the wheelhouse deck, which also has an elegant baby grand piano.  Lana has no shortage of exquisite features, from the hand-sculpted onyx dining table to a winter garden that overlooks the sea. There’s also a large swimming pool, cinema room, a full gym, and multiple social spaces, indoors and out. Inside, this magnificent luxury charter yacht is a symphony of lavish yet tasteful contemporary interior design. The main deck is defined by dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows that allow in plenty of natural light and the use of tactile materials such as leather, timber, and stainless steel, as well as masterful use of lighting in sculptural forms.

Lana’s main salon is an intimate environment, comprising three large sofas around a coffee table for conversation and a widescreen TV for the latest films or sports. The onboard cinema is cosy and inviting, with oversized armchairs, a plush sofa, and a massive screen coupled with surround sound systems and blackout curtains for the ultimate private cinema experience. For water toys and tenders,  Lana  is laden with the latest and greatest for hours of on-water fun for charter guests of all ages. There are jet skis, Seabobs, windsurfs, wakeboards, scuba diving equipment, fishing gear, and golf set-up, including biodegradable balls guests can aim at the floating green.

Billionaire fights to dock his boat on water behind his house. His 164-foot boat, that is.

The love of the water, and a mega-yacht to enjoy it, is putting one resident at odds with village of north palm beach leaders..

For some people, the ultimate Florida lifestyle is a waterfront house , a private dock and a boat parked next to it. But what if that boat is a mega-yacht , and the mega-yacht stretches 164 feet?

That's the conundrum facing the Village of North Palm Beach.

This tiny community in northern Palm Beach County, with only 13,000 full-time residents, has an identity so tied to the water that a ship's steering wheel is the village's emblem.

But it's that love of the water that is putting one resident at odds with village leaders.

For the past several years, homeowner Michael Bozutto has been battling the village for the right to park his 164-foot Westport, dubbed Honey, behind a home he owns at 932 Shore Drive.

The house, built in 1961, is a one-story, ranch-style property with three bedrooms on a half-acre lot. Bozzuto paid $840,247 for the house in 2014, according to Palm Beach County property records.

Lawsuit rooted in dispute over where to dock mega-yacht

What makes this plain house special is its location. It's on a rare corner bordered on the north and east by navigable waters that provide access to the Atlantic Ocean via the Lake Worth Inlet. The east-facing dock is large enough to accommodate Bozzuto's motor yacht.

Since Bozutto bought Honey for an undisclosed sum a decade ago, he mostly has parked it at the Old Port Cove Marina, near Tiger Woods' 155-foot showy mega-yacht, ironically dubbed Privacy.

More recently, Bozzuto has wanted to park Honey alongside his Shore Drive house, one of four houses he owns in the village. While Bozzuto keeps some personal property at the Shore Drive house, he lives at a house he owns at Harbour Isles Court.

Village officials warned Bozzuto he can't park Honey at 932 Shore Drive because boats can only be parked on docks behind houses that are occupied by the homeowner.

But village rules do not define the word "occupied." For instance, the rules do not state that occupied means the house is a residence where the owner lives. Village rules also contain no restrictions on the size of boats that can be kept at private docks.

After years of pushing back against what he believes are fuzzy rules, Bozzuto in March filed a lawsuit against the village.

He alleged the municipality is illegally depriving him of his property rights because nothing in the village code prevents him from mooring Honey at his house. He is asking a Palm Beach County Circuit Court judge to rule that he has a constitutional right to dock Honey there.

Gregory Coleman, Bozzuto's West Palm Beach attorney, said the village has plenty of waterfront homes with yachts parked behind them. But Coleman said the village is illegally blocking Bozzuto from docking Honey at his house because the village is bending to pressure from a handful of neighbors who think the boat is too big.

The selective enforcement is wrong, said Coleman, a former president of the Florida Bar.

"He's a very under-the-radar guy who doesn't cause anybody any problems," Coleman said of Bozzuto. "He pays his property taxes, and he wants to be left alone by the village of North Palm Beach. Unfortunately, they are singling Mike out."

Neither Leonard Rubin, the village's longtime attorney, nor Village Manager Chuck Huff responded to requests for comment.

Eric Stettin, a Fort Lauderdale-based attorney who is representing the village in the Bozzuto lawsuit, said he could not comment on pending litigation.

Coleman's lawsuit describes the conflict as a battle over property rights, but real estate and yachting experts say it's also a sign of the times.

As wealthy new residents pour into the county wanting all the perks of the Sunshine State, they want a boat to go along with their waterfront homes and golf club memberships. Some longtime residents fear Palm Beach County is turning into a playground for billionaires, to the detriment of everyday people who also want to live in sunshine and peace.

This conflict between Old Florida and new money is an ever-present tension, but even seasoned yacht brokers say they've never seen interest in luxury yachts quite as strong as it is now.

"What we've seen in the marketplace right after COVID in the yachting industry, and especially the superyacht segment, is the most incredible growth ever seen in the history of yachting to date," said Shannon McCoy, a luxury yacht advisor and broker with Worth Avenue Yachts in Palm Beach.

"A lot of people are moving here with serious money," added Pascal Savoy, U.S. managing director of Camper & Nicholsons International yacht brokers in Fort Lauderdale.

While in the past Palm Beach County was not considered lively enough for some buyers, Savoy said the county's growing sophistication is putting it on the map in a way never seen before.

"It's a mini-Monaco for us," Savoy said.

Prices for mega-yachts can range from $18 million to $60 million, or many times that, for the largest and most decked-out mega-yachts, Savoy said.

While some yachts can be glitzy, a 164-foot Westport is considered a more low-profile boat, Savoy added.

Michael Bozzuto's interests: Houses, boats and philanthropy

Bozzuto is no newcomer to North Palm Beach. He's been a resident of the village for 20 years.

He is the billionaire owner of a family-owned supermarket wholesaler in Connecticut, and an investor and philanthropist who likes to collect houses and yachts, Coleman said.

In addition to the four North Palm Beach houses and several yachts he owns, Bozzuto in February paid a whopping $31.1 million for a house in the Town of Palm Beach Shores. The house, which has two docks, sits just north of the Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet.

Coleman said there is plenty of room for other boaters to navigate the waterway when Honey is parked at the Shore Drive house in North Palm Beach. And while other people may not have as large a yacht, there are other sizeable yachts parked on docks behind other North Palm Beach homes, too, he added.

At a 2017 village council meeting, then-Mayor Darryl Aubrey commented on the issue, according to the complaint.

"When I didn't live here full time, I had a boat sitting in my dock, I was gone nine months of the year. I don't see how you can say that someone has to be in a residence year-round, seems to be some interpretation of occupant, there would be an enormous number of violations," Aubrey said.

Another member of the village council asked if the village had a definition now, the complaint said.

Rubin, the village attorney, replied: "No, we don't," according to the lawsuit.

Palm Beach County's waterways run deep, and they are popular

The yacht docking dispute is particularly timely, given the scarcity of dock space for boats of all sizes.

The most convenient place to park a boat is on the water behind a house, brokers say. But not every waterway or channel can accommodate the draft, or depth, of a mega-yacht.

However, the dock behind Bozzuto's Shore Drive house can.

Not only is the Westport not known for its deep hulls, but the waterway also is typical of northern Palm Beach County, which boasts deep water and easy access to the ocean via the Lake Worth Inlet, said Coleman, a lifelong boater.

"In Palm Beach County, they have deeper water, and it allows people to have larger yachts," Savoy agreed.

But not every waterway is deep enough for every boat.

McCoy said she specializes in helping advise potential yacht owners about the county's varied water depths before they buy a house, if they plan to dock their yacht behind it.

If yacht owners don't have a private dock, the other option is a marina. But marina space is hard to find, with many dock berths reserved for months in advance, McCoy said.

Despite the challenges of owning a boat and finding a place to dock it, yacht brokers say demand continues.

They see interest continuing from business executives moving here with their families as they relocate their companies to Palm Beach County. There's also a growing demand for yachts among female buyers, McCoy added.

They also see younger mega-yacht buyers, some even in their early 30s. This is in sharp contrast to the mostly older buyers in the past, Savoy said.

Palm Beach County may not be as go-go as Miami-Dade County when it comes to showy ships, but if interest continues, "it's coming," Savoy said. "You're going to attract bigger yachts."

Put another way: "No one needs a boat, but everyone needs a boat," McCoy said. "It's the ultimate lifestyle."

Motor Yacht

The Redman Whiteley Dixon design of Hampshire II covers her remarkable exterior, and flows through to the interior. The 78.50 metre motor yacht was then brought to life by Feadship at their Makkum facilities before being launched in 2012.

Her owner, an experienced Feadship owner, entered the project with a clear vision of what he and his family were looking for – a nautical playground of unquestionable quality. Hampshire II was created to provide a platform of exploration, action and sport, featuring various creative design elements such as a helipad on the foredeck which converts into a basket ball, tennis, badminton and football court.

Each deck of Hampshire II features a diving board, and the 25 metre crows nest allows the owner to zipline to the water below. The exploration features aren’t just built in to the boat, but featured throughout the beach club area and garage which are stocked with windsurfing and diving equipment, mountain bikes and arsenal of toys and tenders.

The interiors themselves were designed to the specific brief of traditional yachting feel without introducing the look of a hotel or a New York apartment. Features include real log fire, an extraordinary bar on the bridge deck, a stunning wine cellar with underwater viewing window and private cinema on the lower deck.

Feadship completes 78.50m Hampshire II superyacht

Netherlands-based shipyard Feadship has completed the 78.50-metre superyacht called Hampshire II.

With Naval Architecture by Feadship and exterior and interior designing by Redman Whiteley Dixon, the new superyacht features a contemporary design which is contrasted by the classic style of its interior.

Hampshire II sports five guestrooms and one owner's suite, which have a combined capacity to house a maximum of 14. It also features separate accommodation for its 21 plus two staff members in 14 crew cabins.

Among the various other features of the superyacht include a beach club with two platforms, an English style bar on the bridge deck, and a teak-finished helipad which can be converted into a playing field.

A distinguishing element of the vessel is its helicopter landing platform on the foredeck, which can be converted into a playing field for basketball, tennis, baseball, badminton as well as football.

The vessel's superstructure is made of aluminium while its hull is in steel. The yacht is powered by a pair of MTU 16V4000M53R engines which offer it a top speed of 16 knots. Its range is 5,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The 78.5m yacht has multiple facilities that make the Hampshire a family-oriented and action-packed yachting experience. The yacht is the epitome of luxury and fun on the water.

HAMPSHIRE II yacht interior

The interior of the Hampshire II yacht is defined as luxurious. With a classic and mahogany-paneled style, there is accommodation for 14 guests in 7 staterooms and 23 crew in 14 cabins.

The beach house opens out on two sides and has a swimming platform and a swimming ladder that descends into the water from the stern.

The beach club is styled in a driftwood design, and the entire area flows seamlessly into the deck above with a skylight surrounded by seating.

The whole yacht is designed for fun, action, sport, and exploration, with the helipad on the foredeck converting into a multi-sports area for basketball, badminton, tennis, and football.

The traditional yachting interior also has a real wood-burning fire, a wine cellar in the underwater viewing window, and a private cinema on the lower deck.

The yacht’s action-packed features continue with a zip line that runs from the 25m crows mast to the water below, and each deck is a diving board.

The garage is packed with toys like windsurfing and diving equipment, mountain bikes, and tenders for all kinds of adventure on land and water.

Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects built the Hampshire II yacht in their Kaag-based shipyard in the Netherlands. The hull is made of steel and has an aluminum superstructure.

The hull was painted blue in 2018. RWD was the designer of both the interior and the yacht’s exterior, and she was delivered in 2012.

Specifications

The Hampshire II yacht has a length of 78.5m, a beam of 12.7m, and a draft of 3.7m. Her 2 MTU engines can reach a maximum speed of 16kn and a cruising speed of 14kn. She displaces 1887GT and has a range of 3,700 nautical miles.

The engine room has a passageway made of full-height glass walls that show off the interior with three main colors: Ferrari red, black, and white, with stainless steel accents and spotlights.

The Hampshire II is estimated to cost $150 million, and she has an annual running cost of $10 – $15 million.

The interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon and the owner’s interior design team builds on the style of the owner’s previous yacht with a classical but homely feel throughout. The engine room has a suspended walkway with floor to ceiling glass, leading from the guest accommodation through to the beach club, which enables guests to look down on the Ferrari red engines which are lit by spotlights. Every detail of this yacht has been meticulously thought through, designed and built to the very highest standards and makes HAMPSHIRE II without question one of the finest yachts to be launched this year.

HAMPSHIRE II marks yet another highly successful collaboration between Edmiston and Feadship, and marks the second of three significant new build projects which Edmiston Yacht Management have overseen. The first being the 78m TANGO which was launched last year.

Moscow is Russia's capital city and is the largest city in the country. As of January 1, 2010, Moscow's population was 10,562,099, which also makes it one of the top ten largest cities in the world. Because of its size, Moscow is one of the most influential cities in Russia and dominates the country in politics, economics, and culture among other things. Moscow is located in Russia's Central Federal District along the Moskva River and covers an area of 417.4 square miles (9,771 sq km).

The following is a list of ten things to know about Moscow: 1) In 1156 the first references to the construction of a wall around a growing city called Moscow began to appear in Russian documents as did descriptions of the city being attacked by the Mongols in the 13th century. Moscow was first made a capital city in 1327 when it was named the capital of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality. It later became known as the Grand Duchy of Moscow. 2) Throughout much of the rest of its history, Moscow was attacked by rival empires and armies. In the 17th century a large part of the city was damaged during citizen uprisings and in 1771 much of Moscow's population died due to the plague. Shortly thereafter in 1812, Moscow's citizens (called Muscovites) burned the city during Napoleon 's invasion. 3) After the Russian Revolution in 1917, Moscow became the capital of what would eventually become the Soviet Union in 1918. During World War II, however, a large portion of the city suffered damage from bombings. Following WWII, Moscow grew but instability continued in the city during the fall of the Soviet Union . Since then, though, Moscow has become more stable and is a growing economic and political center of Russia.

4) Today, Moscow is a highly organized city located on the banks of the Moskva River. It has 49 bridges crossing the river and a road system that radiates in rings out from the Kremlin in the city's center. 5) Moscow has a climate with humid and warm to hot summers and cold winters. The hottest months are June, July, and August while the coldest is January. The average high temperature for July is 74°F (23.2°C) and the average low for January is 13°F (-10.3°C). 6) The city of Moscow is governed by one mayor but it is also broken down into ten local administrative divisions called okrugs and 123 local districts. The ten okrugs radiate out around the central district which contains the city's historic center, Red Square, and the Kremlin. 7) Moscow is considered the center of Russian culture because of the presence of many different museums and theaters in the city. Moscow is home to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the Moscow State Historical Museum. It is also home to Red Square which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . 8) Moscow is well-known for its unique architecture which consists of many different historic buildings such as Saint Basil's Cathedral with its brightly colored domes. Distinctive modern buildings are also beginning to be constructed throughout the city.

9) Moscow is considered one of the largest economies in Europe and its main industries include chemicals, food, textiles, energy production, software development, and furniture manufacturing. The city is also home to some of the world's largest companies. 10) In 1980, Moscow was the host of the Summer Olympics and thus has a variety of different sports venues that are still used by the many sports teams within the city. Food is very expensive,very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More
