We take a look at the new Jeanneau 65 another offering from the French brand that can be configured in a variety of different ways

Product Overview

The new Jeanneau 65 represents a significant makeover of the already successful Jeanneau 64. As with the Jeanneau 60  this is intended as a boat that can be configured in many different ways, each with a different character.

Those wanting more of a performance boat can specify a taller rig and mainsheet taken to the cockpit sole, while those looking for safer and easier handling can opt for a mainsheet arch, plus a long hard top, with an optional central folding sunroof area.

In all cases cockpit space is maximised as a result of pushing the wheels well back in the boat – Jeanneau claims it offers the equivalent space to a multihull in this respect.

Accommodation below decks is by London-based designer Andrew Winch, with options including two spacious owner’s cabins with private bathrooms, three cabins including owner forward, or four cabins. All of these have the possibility of an additional single cabin that could be a walk-in closet, additional berth, or even an office area – although the expansive chart table is also designed to be used as a desk when cruising.

Jeanneau is also set to unveil an innovative new 55ft cruising model this winter in time for the Düsseldorf show in January. Drawn by the same Briand/Winch team as the 60 and 65, this will have a very different deck and interior layout, featuring three separate companionways.

A key feature of this exciting new model which has proven so popular on the Sun Odyssey range is the walk-around deck, enabling easy access when moving fore and aft as well as in and out of the cockpit. Like its predecessor, the Jeanneau Yachts 65 has been optimized for on-deck living. Spaces specific to the operation of the boat, lounging, dining, and access to the sea have been carefully incorporated into the design of the boat to create an environment that is both comfortable and practical.

The Jeanneau Yachts 65 is a luxury sailing yacht from the French shipyard Jeanneau (Bénéteau Group), announced in July 2021, for a first presentation to the public in March 2022, during private trials in Cannes, and a first presentation at a boat show in September 2022, at the Cannes Yachting Festival.  The Jeanneau Yachts 65 is the result of a collaboration between the naval architecture firms Philippe Briand, Winch Design and Jeanneau Design. 

The Jeanneau Yachts 65 is the flagship of the Jeanneau Yachts range of luxury sailing yachts from the French shipyard Jeanneau. The Jeanneau Yachts 65 is positioned above the Jeanneau Yachts 60, and replaces the Jeanneau Yachts 64, the mythical model of the shipyard that allowed it to become the world leader in the luxury yacht segment of this size.

The overall length of the Jeanneau Yachts 65 is 20.20m, with a hull length of 19.55m and a waterline length of 18m. Its beam (the width of the Jeanneau Yachts 65) is 5.40m. The light weight of the Jeanneau Yachts 65 is 31 tons, and its draft varies between 2.95m for the standard ballast, and 2.20m for the short ballast. The weight of the standard ballast is 9.350 tons, and that of the short ballast is 10.550 tons.

The air draft of the Jeanneau Yachts 65 reaches 29.10 m above the water.

The Jeanneau Yachts 65 can carry 825 liters of fuel and 1000 liters of water. Its engine is a 175 hp Volvo Penta D4 inboard engine.

In terms of rigging, the Jeanneau Yachts 65 offers a standard sail area (Furling Mainsail + Jib) of 170m2, and an optional 211m2 (Full-Batten Mainsail + 110% Genoa).

 The Jeanneau Yachts 65 offers a great customization program "à la carte", with a layout ranging from 2 to 6 cabins.

What a tremendous boat this is. We had a 89nm night race with no moon. We had wind 28kts true and waves breaking in the cockpit. We were too inexperienced and tired to put the kite up. The Welcome Center

The Welcome Centre Ulm/Oberschwaben has been located at the self-governing organisation Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Ulm since 1 April 2014. The region of IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) Ulm covers the Alb-Donau district, Biberach and the district of Ulm.

The central task of the Welcome Center is to support companies in finding and retaining skilled workers. Thus, the Welcome Center is one part of the IHK Ulm’s efforts in various spheres of activity to mitigate the progressive shortage of skilled professionals in the region. Since it was founded in 2014, the Welcome Center Ulm/Oberschwaben has cooperated closely with its project partners and regional networks such as the Fachkräftebündnis Ulm/Oberschwaben (Professionals Alliance) in the working group Internationale Fachkräfte (International Specialists), and with the employment agency and universities.

The Welcome Center Ulm/Oberschwaben is one of a total of 10 Welcome Centers in Baden-Württemberg , which are financed partly by the respective funding agencies and partly by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing.

• To advise small and medium-sized companies in the region on how to attract and retain professionals from abroad
• To provide initial advice to international professionals and their families on working and living in our region
• To offer guidance on dealing with authorities and institutions
