Hayleys acquire Kudarah from Yacht Tours Maldives

Maldives.net.mv – Sri Lanka’s Hayleys group has acquired Kudarah Island Resort in the Maldives for US$23 million from Yacht Tours Maldives Pvt Ltd.

Kudarah Island Resort Maldives opened in 2014 is located in South Ari Atoll and it offers 51 luxury villas, three restaurants, a dive center and other leisure facilities.  The resort close to the popular Kudarah Thila dive site can be reached by a 25 minute seaplane ride from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in Male’.

The resort will be branded Amaya Kudarah Maldives under the management of Amaya Leisure and it will complement city hotels and resorts portfolio in Sri Lanka.. Currently Hayleys own and manage nine hotels and resorts under its leisure division. Hayleys PLC was ranked as the No.1 company in the LMD’s Top 100 listed companies of Sri Lanka in 2015. The resort acquisition was made by Hayleys subsidiary Luxury Resort (Pvt) Ltd., incorporated in the Maldives.

Coco Bodu Hithi welcomes award-winning Sushi Master Chef Pepi Anevski this Easter

This Easter, Coco Bodu Hithi resort is gearing up to host the acclaimed sushi master Chef Pepi Anevski. He will be adding his creative touch to the dining experience at Tsuki, the resort’s Japanese-specialty restaurant, on Easter Sunday, March 31st, and Monday, April 1st.

Originally from Macedonia, Chef Pepi made waves by winning the inaugural World Sushi Cup in Tokyo, Japan, back in 2013. Since then, he has earned a reputation as one of the world’s most innovative sushi masters. With over 20 years of experience, Chef Pepi honed his skills in classic Japanese sushi in Chiba, Japan, under the guidance of Mr. Masayoshi Kazato. He holds certifications from the World Sushi Skill Institute and the All-Japan Sushi Association (AJSA).

In 2019, Chef Pepi opened Sushi Rebellion in Mälmo, Sweden, aiming to deliver high-quality sushi with a rebellious twist in a laid-back urban setting. The restaurant was recently recognized as one of the Top 10 Best Sushi Restaurants in Sweden.

“What I bring to the table is a solid understanding of cultural differences, a strong track record of working cross-functionally, and an understanding of the entire value chain from raw product to the customer’s plate,” says Chef Pepi.

While Chef Pepi’s creativity stems from his curiosity about combining flavors and crafting new recipes, his respectful approach to culture and local ingredients adds a unique and elegant touch to his dishes.

We offer a wide range of services all over the Maldives through our head office in Male’ (Capital) and our two branch offices in the Northern Part of HA. Uligan (on the North Thiladhunmathi Atoll) and the Southern Part of S. Gan (on the Addu Atoll).

We supply fuel and ship store items duty-free directly to your vessel. Provisions and locally available items are supplied at very reasonable prices.

Cruising in the atolls offers a variety of diving, fishing and surfing. You will find many five-star island resorts with their natural beauty untouched, sugar white sandy beaches and thriving coral reefs.

MALDIVES is one of the best travel destinations in the world. The Capital island of Malé (pronounced “maaley”) is among the largest of the group known as the Maldives. It is a tiny dot of land that covers an area of approximately one square mile and hosts a population of more than 70,000.

Malé lies to the north, among the 1,100 minuscule coral islets of the Maldives’ archipelago. Sugar-white beaches are a sanctuary to countless seabirds, while coral reefs host an endless variety of exotic fish and marine life.

Furthermore, he has earned the trust and respect of owners and operators of resorts, hotels, private islands, picnic islands, diving safaris, sailing cruise, transport providers (Seaplane and Speedboats).

Due to his success, professionalism, friendliness and high standing in the travel and tourism industry, he is able to maintain excellent relationships with all the concerned government authorities in the country , such as, the Ministry of Tourism, The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), The Department of Civil Aviation, Department of Immigration and Emigration, Maldives Airports Company, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Maldives Customs Services.

As a result he is among the leading , most admired, most respected and reputable person in Maldives tourism industry.

Mr. Mohamed Riyaz started his career with the National Bank of the country ‘ Bank of Maldives where he had worked for over 13 years in various jobs of which the last was as a Manager for one of the banks branches.

After leaving the bank in 1996 , he then joined the tourism industry and worked as a travel consultant for an inbound travel company. Then in 1999, he founded Inner Maldives Pvt. Ltd., with a partner , which became a successful inbound tour operator.
