Accommodation

• The interior design by Luiz DeBasto is clean, modern, elegant yet comfortable. Large windows on the main deck and the 28' (8.4m) beam give this vessel a very open and bright interior. The master suite is forward on the main deck, along with a powder room, galley, dining and main salon. Protected side deck doors port (galley) and starboard (salon foyer) provide easy access to the wide side decks and steps to the pilothouse and 01 deck.
• The crew's quarters are below deck forward and accessed via the galley or through a watertight door to a storage pantry and the guest stateroom companionway with three guest cabins and a full beam VIP stateroom and head that converts to a TV lounge and game room. The laundry center is located behind a door in the foyer with stairs up to the main salon and continuing to the sky lounge with a large private office and powder room and automated glass and stainless steel doors to the expansive aft deck. Forward is the captain's cabin with private head and adjacent to the captain's office located just aft of the pilothouse. Port and starboard side deck doors allow easy exterior access to the foredeck, aft deck and steps to the main deck on both sides.

• The aft main deck is partially shaded by the overhang of the 01 deck and has a removable tensioned awning that can further shade the wide and cushioned aft sun-pad and seating area. Teak decks and wide steps provide easy access to the swim deck. Port and starboard boarding gates provide easy access to docks when in port.
• The teak soled aft 01 deck is expansive and fully protected by the helideck above make this an exceptional entertaining area. LED lighting is well positioned in the overhead panels. A large teak dining table with beautiful in laid compass rose converts to a regulation size ping pong table and a large, moveable, sectional lounge can be oriented forward, aft, port or starboard. There is a serving cabinet forward and to port of the dining area.

Bow & Stern

• The foredeck is accessed via a rail protected, teak decked, companionway and steps. The dual hydraulic anchoring system is set in a polished stainless deck plate doubler with spurling pipes to the chain locker. An anchor washdown system is incorporated. Hullside anchors port and starboard are recessed in polished stainless steel pockets that allow the flukes to lock into place when tensioned. A watertight deck hatch allows access to the thruster compartment and forepeak.
• The stern platform or swim deck is integral to the hull, expansive and well designed for tender boarding and water access. It is equipped with an Opacmare "Transformer", an articulating swim platform that stows flush in a recessed pocket and can be extended up and out to be used as a boarding platform at a Med-style port or a submerged dive platform. It is clad with cork decking and has articulating steps. An outdoor hot and cold shower head is rail mounted to port. Storage areas are a beneath the wide stairs port and starboard and accessed via hinged step sections. Centerline access to the dive and water sports gear lockers, Nitrox system, generator and switchboard room, engineer's office and engine room is through a watertight pantograph door.

Captains Quarters and Office

• Located on the pilothouse deck this is a very comfortable and well appointed cabin with window, large berth, hanging locker and private head. It is directly across from the captain's office that is equipped with a ship's computer, bookshelves for manuals and a large desk top.

Expedition yachts allow the yacht owner to get to all corners of the world, opening up beautiful destinations otherwise difficult to reach. From the snowy landscapes and penguins of Antarctica to the coral reefs and jungles of Micronesia, an expedition yacht opens up the world for exploration.

There are a multitude of options available for expedition vessels. Above are examples of existing brokerage vessels. Other options to consider include Full Custom Builds and Semi Custom Builds. A Fully Custom Expedition yacht build is a ground up design and specification package, which will include tank testing of hull forms, 3D modeling, etc. A Semi Custom Expedition Build includes an existing hull form and common engineering package, already being used and then customizing the house styling, layout and décor.

The 80m Explorer Yacht, unnamed, is an example of a Fully Custom Explorer Build. The vessel includes float in float out wet dock that will be able to hold a 65-70 foot sport fisherman in the stern, when the sport fish is removed the tender well becomes a deep swimming pool.  She is diesel electric with Azipod drives.   The vessel has the capability of landing two helicopters and can house both helicopters in a single hangar.  The vessel also has a large tender garage that could hold multiple smaller vessels including a RIB, flats boat, jets skis and two submarines.  The vessel has accommodations for 18 guests and crew of 36.  The vessel would be commercial fit and finish on the exterior and the interior are envisioned to be built to high end cruise ship standards.

The 75m Explorer, by Admiral Shipyards is an example of a Semi Custom Build. The yacht’s exterior design, which remains unnamed, is a display of an elegant yet robust platform with generous exterior deck spaces. The expansive aft deck is designed to accommodate an Agusta Grande helicopter, complete with a storage and refueling hangar below deck.

The interior is spread across four decks and will be finished in a timeless nautical style that is finished with contemporary elements, which will be built and installed by German interio specialists, Fitz Interior. The owner, who is expected to spend prolonged period onboard, will be treated to an exclusive main deck area covering over 300 square metres with five additional guest suites on the lower deck.

Launched in 2010, the 42m motor yacht The Big Blue (ex Imbros) is a luxury displacement expedition vessel, built by the Turkish shipyard, Troy Marine. With last refit by Derecktor Florida in 2013, superyacht The Big Blue features naval architecture by the Troy Marine´s in-house team, while her sophisticated exterior and lovely interior are by Ugur Isik.

Troy Marine luxury yacht The Big Blue (ex Imbros) is powered by twin Volvo D16 MH diesels, giving her an ability to reach a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots. Boasting a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, The Big Blue has a beam of 8.40m (27´56´´) and a draught of 2.30m (7´55´´). Featuring very high sea keeping qualities, she is Bureau Veritas registered and fully MCA compliant.

The 42.01m/137'10" expedition yacht 'The Big Blue' (ex. Imbros) was built by Troy Marine in Turkey at their Kocaeli shipyard. Her interior is styled by American designer design house Luiz de Basto Designs and she was completed in 2009. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Ugur Isik and she was last refitted in 2013.

The Big Blue has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 8 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

The Big Blue is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Volvo (D16 MH) 739hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 11 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 4,300 nautical miles from her 58,999 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Her water tanks store around 18,998 Litres of fresh water. She was built to BV (Bureau Veritas) classification society rules.

From Decor to Dresses, Estate Sale Expert Reveals How to Save Big on Surprising Wedding Treasures (Exclusive)

"With a huge variety of items sold, shoppers are likely to find something unique that fits their event aesthetic," expert Bob Lang tells PEOPLE

A growing number of brides and grooms are embracing the "something old" tradition by mining estate sales for hidden treasures for their weddings.

Expert Bob Lang, brand president of Blue Moon Estate Sales , tells PEOPLE that wedding planning has taken a turn towards the "creative and crafty" in recent years, prompting people to hunt for unique finds at local estate sales.

"New trends from floral plates to vintage wedding decorations have contributed to estate sale attendance. Also, TikTok hauls have been trending with people sharing what they’ve found for their special day," he says.

Lang notes that estate sales have long attracted shoppers in search of decorative pieces and gifts for special events, from birthday parties and graduations to garden parties and family dinners.

He describes an estate sale as "a pop-up, retail-like experience" that is more elevated and professionally organized than, say, a yard or garage sale. They are typically held after a family member's death or when someone is making a big life transition like a move or downsizing into a smaller home.

For weddings in particular, estate sales can be an ideal place to score quality china, glassware, silverware, cake stands, picture frames, table toppers such as candlesticks, vases and doilies and more.

"Complete dishware and glassware sets can easily be found at just about any sale. With a huge variety of items sold, shoppers are likely to find something unique that fits their event aesthetic," Lang tells PEOPLE.

Other estate sale finds include wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and wedding rings, as well as lighting such as lamps and lanterns.

The thrill of the hunt is part of the appeal of these sales, as you never know what you treasures you might discover.

Earlier this month, for instance, Blue Moon Estate Sales hosted a sale in Colorado with an extensive inventory of mostly never-used items originally purchased with the intent of starting an event planning business.

"They had unique themed bars, display racks, cake and cupcake display racks and stands, decor, fake floral arrangements, dishes, commercial shelving units, wall backdrops, chairs and benches," Lang says, noting that certain types of sales like this can be a treasure trove for wedding-related items.

"Definitely be on the lookout for warehouse, small business or restaurant clear-out estate sales," he advises. "These events can supply the entire event."

The expert also points out that visiting and browsing estate sales can also help brides and grooms find inspiration and spark ideas for their wedding theme or decor scheme.

And while estate sales might seem a bit intimidating — or expensive — compared with a casual neighborhood yard sale, Lang says "all are welcome" and "anyone can find something" in their price range. "Prices are determined fairly, and sales are hosted by professionals who are there to provide guidance and answer questions," he notes.

Blue Moon Estate Sales offers a free loyalty program where members earn one point for every dollar they spend. For those looking to buy bulk items for a big event like a wedding, the points can rack up quickly.

"This will allow them to save up points for money off future purchases," Lang says.
