Azimut Launches the Magellano 30 Metri

Azimut Yachts in Italy has launched the new flagship of its Magellano line: the Magellano 30 Metri, with a length overall of 97 feet, 6 inches.

Beam is 23 feet, and draft is 6 feet, 8 inches. Fuel capacity is more than 3,800 gallons for long-distance cruising—and Azimut says fuel consumption is about 15 percent lower than on traditional hard-chine planing hulls.

Also according to Azimut, the yacht has a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots with twin 1,550-horsepower MAN engines.

The design team behind the Magellano 30 Metri includes people who also collaborated on the Magellano 25 Metri : Ken Freivokh, who handled exterior styling, and Vincenzo De Cotiis, who designed the interiors. PLANA collaborated with Azimut on naval architecture for the Dual Mode hull.

Notable design features include more than 750 feet of glazed surfaces, for wide-angle views and a great deal of natural light on board.

A hotel mode package is available: Azimut says the Magellano 30 Metri can be fitted with this package, which has 100 kWh lithium batteries that let the yacht anchor silently, with zero emissions, for as long as four hours during the day and eight hours at night.

Just launched in Viareggio, the first Magellano 30 Metri is the ultimate expression of Azimut Yacht’s pioneering spirit. “The new flagship is designed for the experienced owner and connoisseur who plans to enjoy long-distance voyages, whatever the weather conditions and in a constant dialogue with the sea. The Magellano 30 Metri takes this desire for freedom and expresses it in the form of unprecedented seakeeping and a design that offers a view of both the sky and the sea from every point on the yacht. The intimate relationship with nature is also respected in sustainability-related choices that aim to reduce the yacht’s environmental impact” is written in a statement from the shipyard.

The Magellano Collection is the Azimut Yachts line “for yachtsmen who have a predilection for long cruises: Magellano is always smooth and safe at sea, with low fuel consumption and a wide range of speeds”. The interiors too are designed for long stays on board. The new flagship is the perfect fit for the brand’s crossover line, reprising features such as generous volumes and a desire to amaze in different sea conditions, without however compromising on elegance and attention to detail.

This result has been achieved thanks to the collaboration of the winning team that proved itself with the previous model (Magellano 25 Metri): Ken Freivokh, who handled the exterior styling and volumes, and Vincenzo De Cotiis, who designed the interiors. In keeping with its calling as a crossover, the new 30-metre yacht offers spacious, light-filled interiors that De Cotiis has successfully made intimate and inviting.

Freivokh and De Cotiis have designed the three decks of the new Magellano “by breathing life into their shared vision of a yacht in seamless contact with the sea, from the Infinity Terrace that welcomes guests on board, to the generous terrace on the Upper Deck for socialising and enjoying the pleasure of cruising in the open air. The huge windows – over 70 square metres of glazed surfaces – also ensure uninterrupted visual continuity between the interior spaces and the surrounding natural environment, which has a metaphorical presence in every setting on the yacht, from the full-beam Owner Suite and the living space on the Main Deck to the gracious Skylounge on the Upper Deck”.

The exteriors of the Magellano 30 metri have been designed by Ken Freivokh, a renowned figure in the world of boat design and the name behind some of the world’s most stunning megasailers. The vision that guided his design of the lines of the boat was wonderfully simple: to create an object of timeless, exquisite beauty, immune to passing fads and trends. A superstructure entirely in glass, conceived to recreate the idea of a penthouse overlooking the sea, is the central element around which the entire design revolves. Customised teak louvres on either side of the aft area of the deckhouse add an indefinable personality to the boat’s silhouette.

Surprising and unconventional, the Magellano 30METRI is a masterpiece that seamlessly fuses art and the sea. The interior lines were designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis, an architect and designer with an attitude that hovers more towards the art world. Given his longstanding love of fibreglass, which he has used in the creation of many of his works, there is a wonderful symmetry in the collaboration, when you consider that for Azimut Yachts, this material is an essential construction element. Fluid, surprising forms, an out-of-the-ordinary conjugation of the sea and its surroundings, together with light-flooded spaces all combine to make the Magellano 30METRI a truly extraordinary boat that seems suspended in time and poised to weigh anchor at any moment in a quest to rediscover the simple essence of travel.

Azimut launches first Magellano 30 Metri

Italian builder Azimut has launched the first Magellano 30 Metri , the flagship of the Magellano series, at its shipyard in Viareggio.

This 30 metre model has been designed by the same team that worked on its predecessor, the Magellano 25 Metri , with Ken Freivokh handling the exterior design and volumes and Vincenzo De Cotiis styling the interiors. The exterior design sports sleek, modern lines combined with vast glazed surfaces and signature teak louvres.

The new flagship was designed for an owner "who plans to enjoy long-distance voyages, whatever the weather conditions," the yard said. 

Equipped with a Dual Mode Hull, the Magellano 30 Metri offers high stability at sea and 15% reduced fuel consumption compared to traditional hard chine planing hulls. As well as offering excellent seakeeping capabilities, the yacht's design features eco-focused elements including 100kWh lithium batteries that allow her to be anchored for up to four hours per day and eight hours at night producing zero emissions. 

Interiors emphasise a connection with the sea throughout, with generous infinity terraces located on the upper deck and upon entry to the superyacht. With over 70 square metres of glass weaved into the design, indoor areas are light-filled and offer excellent views of the surrounding environment.

Debuting in 2009, Azimut’s Magellano’s line is “synonymous with stress-free cruising and extended trips in total safety”, according to the yard.

Following the release of the Magellano 25 Metri in late 2020, Azimut has expanded its long-range line with the 30 Metri.

Azimut has launched hull one of the Magellano 30 Metri in Viareggio. The model features exterior styling by Ken Freivokh and interior design by Vincenzo De Cotiis, the pair reuniting following their work on the Magellano 25 Metri (cover, Issue 55) released in late 2020.

With an overall length of 29.6m (97ft 6in) and a beam of 7m (23ft), the 30 Metri is the new flagship of the Magellano Collection, which is focused on long cruises, low fuel consumption and interiors designed for extensive stays on board.

The model features naval architecture by P.L.A.N.A and a second-generation dual-mode hull for efficiency at mid-range and higher speeds, reducing consumption by about 15 per cent compared with traditional hard-chine planing hulls. The Hotel Mode package includes 100kWh lithium batteries that enable the yacht to stay at anchor with zero emissions for up to 4hrs during the day and 8hrs at night.

Outdoor areas include an ‘infinity terrace’ cockpit, the aft end of the upper deck, and a foredeck that can fit a spa pool. The yacht has over 70sqm of glazed surfaces, so huge windows illuminate many interior areas such as the saloon and dining area on the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite forward and the upper-deck skylounge. The lower deck has four guest cabins and three crew cabins.

Asia’s first hull of the Magellano 25 Metri arrived in Hong Kong last year through Marine Italia, which represents Azimut in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Taiwan and Singapore. The majority of the dealer’s Azimut sales are from the Flybridge and Grande series, but Director Paul Grange believes the Magellano line is gaining a foothold in the region.

“We’ve sold several Magellano models recently including the 25 Metri in Hong Kong and a 53 in Taiwan,” Grange said. “With the recent launch of the new flagship 30 Metri and a new 58 model to follow, it will be interesting to see if the popularity of the Magellano Collection continues to grow in Asia.”

Azimut Yachts lunches the new Magellano 30 metri

Launched in Viareggio the first Magellano 30 Metri. The new flagship is the perfect fit for the brand’s crossover line , reprising features such as generous volumes and a desire to amaze in different sea conditions, without however compromising on elegance and attention to detail. This result has been achieved thanks to the collaboration of the winning team that proved itself with the previous model (Magellano 25 Metri): Ken Freivokh , who handled the exterior styling and volumes, and Vincenzo De Cotiis , who designed the interiors. Freivokh has created refined and modern but in no way aggressive lines that catch the eye of expert yachtsmen, also from the world of sailing yachts. Unexpectedly striking, the teak louvres that close and complement the extensive glazed surfaces in the superstructure are a signature feature of the Magellano line. In keeping with its calling as a crossover, the new 30-metre yacht offers spacious, light-filled interiors that De Cotiis has successfully made intimate and inviting.

Freivokh and De Cotiis have designed the three decks of the new Magellano by breathing life into their shared vision of a yacht in seamless contact with the sea , from the Infinity Terrace that welcomes guests on board, to the generous terrace on the Upper Deck for socialising and enjoying the pleasure of cruising in the open air. The huge windows – over 70 square metres of glazed surfaces – also ensure uninterrupted visual continuity between the interior spaces and the surrounding natural environment, which has a metaphorical presence in every setting on the yacht, from the full-beam Owner Suite and the living space on the Main Deck to the gracious Skylounge on the Upper Deck.

Azimut Magellano 30 Metri, altri cinque metri sopra la nuova ammiraglia

Corsa al vertice nella linea Magellano di Azimut Yachts. Dopo il Magellano 25 metri, presentato al Cannes Yachting Festival 2020, il cantiere ha appena varato il nuovo modello al top di gamma, l'Azimut Magellano 30 Metri.

Era stato annunciato nel 2020 in contemporanea al lancio del Magellano 25 Metri e ora il Magellano 30 Metri ha finalmente toccato l'acqua ed è pronto per portare il suo armatore in lunghe navigazioni, senza preoccuparsi troppo delle condizioni meteomarine, grazie alla sua carena dual-mode.

Due anni per due nuove navette, che hanno alzato notevolmente l'asticella nella gamma Magellano di Azimut Yachts. Già il Magellano 25 Metri aveva fatto un balzo di 5 metri rispetto ai 20 di quella che era l'ammiraglia dell'epoca, il 66.

Ora altri 5 metri distanziano il nuovo modello di vertice da quello precedente, ma le firme di progettista e designer sono le stesse che hanno traghettato le ultime due navette di Azimut Yachts verso una nuova progettualità sia stilistica sia tecnica.

Chi sono i progettisti dell'Azimut Magellano 30 Metri

Si parla di Ken Freivockh, che ha creato il concept e le linee esterne, e di Vincenzo De Cotiis che, prima di essere il designer degli ultimi due nuovi Magellano, è un artista creatore di numerose opere, chiamato per la prima volta nella nautica per portare i suoi orizzonti a bordo del Magellano 25 Metri prima e di questo nuovo Azimut Magellano 30 Metri oggi.

Il risultato di Freivockh è una barca di grande raffinatezza, esaltata da una delicata contaminazione delle sue linee classiche con un sofisticato velo di contemporaneità e da grandi vetrate per ben 70 mq di superficie totale, dando così il "la" a Vicenzo De Cotiis, che ha fatto della continuità degli ambienti la sua filosofia di base nella creazione degli interni dell'Azimut Magellano 30 Metri, oltre che naturalmente anche del 25.

La lunghezza esatta del nuovo Azimut Magellano 30 metri è di 29,63 metri, lungo i quali si sviluppano cinque cabine, tutte con bagno privato, di cui quella armatoriale posizionata a prua del ponte principale, più altre tre destinate all'equipaggio, anch'esse con il proprio bagno e un living dedicato, perché nella prospettiva di lunghe navigazioni, anche l'equipaggio deve avere adeguati spazi di vivibilità.

L'Azimut Magellano 30 Metri a bordo, fra design esclusivo e layout di grande abitabilità

Le immagini del nuovo Azimut Magellano 30 Metri parlano da sole in fatto di originalità del décor, che spazia fra design e arte, ma ciò che colpisce è anche l'assenza di barriere fra gli ambienti nel salone.

Il leit-motiv di De Cotiis per i layout anche di questa nuova navetta è, appunto, la continuità degli ambienti, ma senza riempire un grande spazio con tutti gli arredi, bensì facendo in modo che siano gli arredi stessi a delimitare le varie zone.

Lo si nota per esempio nella grande poltrona in testa al living di poppa che, dalla sua posizione, delimita la linea di confine fra il salotto e la zona pranzo, a sua volta delineata da una paratia "artistica" grande tanto quanto serve giusto per coprire la zona di servizio a prua e lasciare il resto aperto a vista.

Anche i lunghi divani laterali, man mano che giungono a popppa restringono il passaggio, come a voler accompagnare il passaggio degli ospiti proprio al centro della porta vetri che conduce in pozzetto.

Le enormi vetrate laterali regalate da Ken Freivockh completano il senso di continuità a bordo dell'Azimut Magellano 30 metri.

La privacy per la suite armatoriale e tutto il lower deck per gli ospiti e l'equipaggio

Ciò che rimane ben separato dal resto del ponte principale e in assoluta privacy è la cabina armatoriale, che si sviluppa al vertice di prua e dispone di tre armadi e salotto privato, oltre che naturalmente di un bagno privato di alto livello.

Gli ospiti alloggiano tutti sottocoperta, dove si articolano quattro cabine, di cui due matrimoniali e due doppie, progettate in modo speculare fra loro in modo da potersi compattare bene nella zona centrale dello scafo e lasciare così quella prodiera tutta per il quartiere dell'equipaggio.

Di grande spazio appaiono anche i bagni, uno per ogni cabina, che mostrano ampi box doccia e pure il doppio lavabo nelle cabine matrimoniali, a testimonianza che il livello di comfort non trascura nessuno.

Un flybridge di gran lusso e versatilità

Il flybridge dell'Azimut Magellano 30 Metri ci mette un attimo a colpire per il lusso e i complementi d'arredo che riesce a offrire, basti osservare il bar col piano in marmo che si affaccia su tre sgabelloni in finitura dorata, oppure la zona pranzo con un tavolo perfettamente adatto anche per un convivio formale.

A tutto questo si aggiunge anche una zona "enclosed", ispirata un po' alla tradizione d'oltreoceano, che offre un living di uguale eleganza del salone sul ponte principale e altrettanto attorniato da grandi vetrate.

Azimut Magellano 30 Metri, semidislocante con un occhio all'ecologia

Il nuovo Azimut Magellano 30 metri è dotato della consolidata carena Dual-Mode, progettata dallo studio P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture in collaborazione con il reparto di R&D di Azimut Yachts, che mantiene la stessa efficienza, e dunque lo stesso comfort di navigazione, sia in dislocamento sia in planata, con velocità di 20 nodi di punta massima e 16 nodi di crociera veloce, con due motori Man da 1550 cavalli.

Il cantiere ha inoltre messo a disposizione degli armatori del Magellano 30 Metri la possibilità del pacchetto Hotel Mode, che comprende pacchi di batterie al litio da 100kWh, per poter utilizzare in rada tutti gli impianti di bordo fino a 4 ore di giorno e 8 ore di notte, senza l'uso dei generatori, quindi a zero emissioni gassose e acustiche.

Infine una curiosità su come il destino della gamma Magellano torni a giocarsi nelle sue alte sfere: era il 2009 quando Azimut Yachts annunciò il lancio del primo modello della sua nuova serie di navette semidislocanti, il Magellano 76 lungo 24 metri. Ora, con questo nuovo Azimut Magellano 30 Metri e con il Magellano 25 Metri, il cantiere chiude - almeno per il momento - il cerchio della gamma nella stessa sfera di metratura con cui ha debuttato.

Filippetti Navetta 30 è pensata per chi vuole navigare con consapevolezza e in perfetta sintonia con il mare. Questo 30 metri, costruito in modo eco sostenibile, permette di fare lunghe crociere con il minimo impatto ambientale grazie alla carena dislocante, alle emissioni limitate e a una grande autonomia di acqua e carburante.

L’ARMATORE E’ IL VERO PROTAGONISTA

Filippetti Navetta 30 mette al centro di questo progetto il proprio armatore. L’organizzazione degli spazi, tagliata sartorialmente sulle esigenze del proprietario, permette di guidare questo motor yacht in totale relax. Ma questo long range non è pensato solo per il comfort: anche l’occhio vuole la sua parte. Due diversi layout ed una configurazione interna personalizzabile, rendono lo yacht unico e inimitabile. L’armatore può scegliere tra due modelli, uno a 5 cabine e l’altro a 6 cabine. Quest’ultima è dotata di un ponte superiore interamente dedicato all’armatore. In entrambe le versioni, la suite armatoriale gode di una vista panoramica da togliere il fiato.

UN LONG RANGE ILLUMINATO, DA OGNI PUNTO

La luce è uno degli elementi principali del Filippetti Navetta 30. A prua, dove si sviluppa la grande zona armatoriale, le finestrature che corrono a 180 gradi lungo tutta la cabina, permettono alla luce di illuminare tutto l’ambiente e di godere dell’ampia visuale e del panorama esterno.

UN’ OASI DI BENESSERE A BORDO

Viaggiare a bordo del Filippetti Navetta 30 è sinonimo di relax e tranquillità. La spaziosa Suite armatoriale può ospitare un’area SPA dotata di idromassaggio, bagno turco, e doccia di dimensioni eccezionali o anche una palestra privata. La sala da bagno è rifinita con il marmo più pregiato, ed è personalizzabile a proprio piacimento. Gli ospiti possono rilassarsi sulla grande terrazza del piano superiore: il posto ideale per farsi coccolare dal sole e perdere lo sguardo tra cielo e mare.
