Motor Yacht

Aurora is a custom motor yacht launched in 2017 by Lurssen Yachts in Rendsburg, Germany and most recently refitted in 2019.

Lürssen has remained a family-run German shipyard since its inception in 1875 and is now in its fourth generation of private ownership. The company was founded by Friedrich Lürssen with a desire to create a leading shipyard in both quality and performance.

Aurora measures 74.00 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.80 feet and a beam of 13.20 feet.

Aurora has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Winch Design is an award-winning design studio, established in 1986 as a specialist exterior and interior yacht designer, by Andrew Winch and his wife Jane.

Aurora also features naval architecture by Lurssen Yachts.

The 74-meter luxury yacht Aurora was delivered in 2017. Her striking exterior and distinctive interior are both the work of the Winch Design team. With rich mahogany and stainless steel exterior furnishings, she reflects the romance of luxury travel on transatlantic liners. Each deck was carefully planned to include family spaces. Classic features combined with innovative details such as a large portlight in the main staircase and custom, state-of-the-art lighting across each deck give her authentic charm. With a highly skilled workforce, constant innovation, and four generations of shipbuilding experience, Lurssen has achieved something quite amazing with AURORA.

With a world-class design both inside and out by Winch Design in London, AURORA can accommodate 12 guests in 6 spacious staterooms. Originally named Project GATSBY, this custom superyacht features a full displacement hull and an interior volume larger than any comparable-sized vessel floating today.

Moran Yacht & Ship negotiated the building contract for AURORA, wrote the technical specifications, and managed the entire build process for the vessel. Our team was by the owner’s side from concept well through completion.

AURORA Yacht – Astonishing $120M Superyacht

AURORA yacht was delivered in 2017 and is one of 103 yachts within her size category. Custom built by Lurssen, the cost of running this superyacht per year is approximately $10 Million.

She was originally known as Project Gatsby, due to the influences of the roaring twenties.

AURORA yacht interior

The interior of the AURORA yacht is strongly inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1920s. The design has influenced by several designers from that era.

Responsible for this luxurious design is Winch Design , one of the world’s most successful yacht designers.

Every deck has spaces created for families, and the interior is highlighted by the lighting fixtures all around the yacht.

The interior of AURORA is also quite a bit larger than other yachts of similar size, partly because of the full-beam sky lounge.

One of the more impressive areas on the yacht. She is one of the yachts with the most interior volume in the world, so there is plenty of space for her guests.

Specifications

The AURORA yacht measures 74 meters (243 ft) in length and has a 13,2 meters (43,4 ft) beam. Her draft is 3,75 meters (12,4 ft), and she reached a top speed of 18 knots.

Her cruising speed is 14 knots, and she has a range of more than 4000 nautical miles.

Compared to other yachts in her size range, AURORA has a top speed of 0,09 knots over the average and a cruising speed of 1,06 knots above the average. She is powered by two MTU engines.

She has the space to accommodate up to sixteen guests and a twenty-two-person crew.

As well as designing the interior of the AURORA yacht, Winch design is also responsible for the design of her exterior, with stainless steel and mahogany furnishings.

The Art Deco inspiration continues here, with circular portholes and curved lines.

The naval architecture was developed by Lürssen , and AURORA has a steel hull and a teak deck. The superstructure is made of aluminum.

Lürssen announced the delivery of aurora.

AURORA aka Project GATSBY is with her 74m one of the smaller yachts in the last time. The exterior and interior are a creation by the well-known studio Winch Design from London. Winch used the Art Deco style that had its peak in the years 1920 and 1930. The master suite has antique artworks, and the guest cabins have with individual characteristics. Unfortunately, there are no interior images available.

Lürssen describes the six-deck yacht with a lot of space for the guests’ entertainment and many practical and useful features. One of them is a full-beam sky lounge.

Named after the Roman Goddess of the Dawn, AURORA which was built by renowned Dutch shipyard Moonen, has benefitted from an incredible refit in 2020-2021 under the stewardship of new owners! Experience her elevated levels of charter luxury.

The works included new furniture and total fabric palette, new timber floorboards indoors and teak deck outdoors, new mattresses and bed linen, conversion to a convertible twin/double cabin, new bar on the aft deck, and day bed on flybridge, extended shade areas with bimini / canopy on flybridge and main aft deck… and more!

Built-in steel and aluminium to a design by Rene van der Velden, she was delivered in 2004 – fully equipped for extended sea voyages. An interior in high gloss cherry wood accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 cabins: a Master Cabin, a VIP, a convertible Twin/Double cabin and one twin (with a shared ensuite) – all located on the lower deck.

A generous main saloon has a lounge area with comfortable seating, panoramic windows and an entertainment centre including a satellite TV and surrounds sound system. The dining table seats up to 8 guests comfortably, opposite the galley which can be closed off with an electrically operated panel, or left opened for interaction with the Chef.

The exterior offers 3 separate dining areas for outdoor entertainment, including the aft deck with built-in upholstered seating and shade from the sun, and an expansive flybridge with a bar, gourmet grill and fridge. Plenty of sun lounging sofas offer the ultimate relaxing afternoon on board, a generous sunbed with the perfect vantage point on the bow and an additional sunbed on the flybridge – even boasting a projector and screen for movie nights!

The motorised swim platform offering versatility for water sports by day and a romantic dining option by night. AURORA is offered with a range of toys for kids and adults alike, as well as basic gym equipment for these active mornings.

The amazing and individualistic Aurora Yacht –

The luxury 161-footer may be named after a princess or a natural phenomenon, but it looks utterly masculine and boasts robustness not usually seen in this size category.
