When the Privilege 45 was launched in 1995, it was voted the BEST CRUISING CATAMARAN by Cruising World Magazine. Since then, the Privilege 45 has proved its versatility for both cruising and chartering. For cruising, the stout construction is unrivaled in its class for layup strength and stiffness under sail. The owners have had no cracks in the keel or bridgedeck-to-hull areas and no leaky tanks – problems that can plague the newer catamarans. Most newer catamarans feature sail drives because they are easy for the manufacture to install. Saildrives are prone to leaky seals, worn bearings, and short life spans. The Privilege 45 has more reliable straight shafts. In 2007 the owners added MAX props. The result is little or no drag under sail and surprising performance for a cruising catamaran. The Privilege 45 has a large cockpit than most cats her size, comfortably accommodating 8 passengers. The teak cockpit table seats 6 guests, making her ideal for chartering. The French built Privilege yacht is known for its rich, warm interior, unlike the stark white no-frills interiors of most South African catamarans. The boat features warm, honey colored European Beech throughout. We can state with confidence that this P45 is the best-conditioned P45 on the market today. The owners have made extensive upgrades & improvements each year while building a successful charter business. We are proud to offer this Privilege 45 Catamaran, built in 1995 by Jeantot Marine. Brand: Privilege 482

The Priviledge 482 is an updated version of the 48 and at the time was one of the most luxurious catamarans in production. Mast height and sail area had been increased, backstays eliminated and all sail controls led back to the cockpit resulting in a boat that performs better and is easier to sail.

Privilege are famous for producing high quality cruising catamarans: the focus is on quality rather than quantity. One of the key design features over the years has been the large owner’s suite located into the forward nacelle. As well as creating more living space, this structure provides buoyancy in heavy seas and stiffness to the whole structure. These strong cats ae known for their stability and seaworthiness.
